Aperture 3.6 wrong photo in main viewer pane

Aperture 3.6 Yosemite 10.10.1
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012) 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
Aperture library 62,000+ photos. Main photos stored in directories (not in Aperture library)
Question to resolve: When I am using Aperture at time when in "Split view" or "Viewer" mode my photo selected will be of a previous photo l have looked at or just static screen( fuzzy bunch of lines).
I can correct this by restarting Aperture but the fix does not last long. The am not sure what changes the duration of the messed up viewer (cycling photos, sleep the laptop, ect.) But at times the fix might last a day or two other times only minutes. If left alone it has never fixed it self with out a restart of Aperture. I have repaired permissions and completed a library rebuild.
This condition only started with the update to Yosemite.

Problems with the UI can sometimes be resolved by removing the Preference file.
See Get help with Aperture 3 - Apple Support , scroll down until you see
Reset the user preferences
and follow the directions. Note in step 5 Restart your computer if you're using OS X Mavericks that will apply if you are running Yosemite also.

hello, please install the search reset addon - it will revert the most common customizations those adware programs do in firefox back to the default: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/
in case this doesn't solve the issue please try this: go to firefox > help > troubleshooting information > profile folder - "show folder", then a new window will open up. in this window look out for a file named '''user.js''' (it might be used to overwrite your custom settings). in case it is present , delete or rename this file and restart firefox afterwards.

Mail Viewing pane requires much horizontal scrolling

I just upgraded to Yosemite from Mountain Lion. Only a few problems but, they are major!
For instance, why is my read/sent mail viewing pane so wide? I have to scroll maybe 4 x the width of my entire screen to get to the end of every sentence.
Using Classic Layout because I can't get the New Layout to work efficiently for my purposes.
Is there some way I can change this?

Well, you asked the wrong question. The Viewing pane isn't too wide, the text is not wrapping as it should.
That happens with the occasional malformed email, but shouldn't happen with all.

DVD's are only 640 x 480 (interlaced), so yes, the quality is not nearly as good. You should probably create your .mov in DV format to best match the DVD format

Thanks for your response. To be clear, the way I am importing the PDF is by going to New in LiveCycle, and selecting Import a PDF document, and selecting Create and Interactive Form with Fixed Pages.
I cannot change the forms or pages, as they are created by our local Board. In otherwords, I have tryed used the flowable content, and upon import, not only are the fonts slightly different, but all the important artwork (trade-related) is gone, and is not in the exact positions it was in. The forms must meet the standards to which they were approved by the regional board, and there are state-mandated forms as well.
What surprises me is that you say this method of Fixed Content isn't used much any more. I would think that a lot of people would have PDF files they would wish to make into fillable, interactive forms without needing to reconstruct the entire document. Perhaps a company that has always done things on paper, and now wishes to use those exact same forms on the computer, with no deviations to looks so they can be printed and match up perfectly.
I thought about using Acrobat's internal form creation system. However, some of these forms have sophisticated options and the calculation scripts and systems within LiveCycle are very useful. Not to mention that it has a much larger scalability, should we chose to utilize it.
Any other suggestions? I am so confused why Adobe would force medium-quality import of a PDF, but be so incredibly flexible about every other option in their program.

Full Screen - Main Viewer Bug in Aperture 2.0

When I enter full screen mode the "Main Viewer" button on the toolbar that allows one to view either multiple and a single image is grayed out UNLESS I have the viewer panel displayed before entering full screen mode.
Anyone else noticed this?

Main Viewer Window does not display correctly

Ever since I upgraded to Aperture 3.3 through 3.4.1, the main viewer window does not display correctly. Everything is justified to the right of the screen. When viewing images, the are not in teh center, they are over to the right. I can't even see the import controls when trying to import... actually I can't even press the import button or add metada. I am really in a bad position here. Need help with this... anyone out there have a solution please? my clients are waiting for their photos. Yikes!

Main Viewer is blank

I have just started to use Aperture and somewhere along the way the main viewer has gone blank .
If I look at the images in full screen they appear and can be edited . But once I switch back , only the photos in the browser are visible with the main viewer blank.

Hey guys, couple of things to try
1. In the pulldown menu view, try a few of the settings under main and secondary viewer.
2. Trash your aperture preferences, always one of the first places to start, search for this file: "com.apple.Aperture.plist" and delete it.
I notice for a few of you that you are new to the lists, welcome, in case you are also new to the Mac, deleting your preferences is a standard Mac trouble shooting step, it just removes the way you have set up the preferences file and some customisable settings. All of which only take a few minutes to reset.

I'm on a Macbook Pro and all of my software is up-to-date.
The photos and events, etc. appear to be present in my photo library, but I cannot see the actual images--only an outlined placeholder.

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuild the thumbnails. This can take 3 or 4 goes to work.

How to rearrange single photo in grid view

This seems like a silly question, but my library was imported and one photo out of 1000 shows up at the beginning in the grid view. I'd like to move it to the correct chronological location so it fits in with all the the others.
I can't figure out how to select a single photo and reinsert it into another location in the grid or filmstrip.
What is the easiest way to complete this operation? Seems to me I should be able to select it and simply drag the image...
The help file seems to show only global methods for rearranging order. I want to manually move a few images around.

I use LR 1.2 on a mac. I can arrange/drag photos when they are in library in all photographs, quick collection.
As soon as I put them in the categories/keyword tags (in library) I can"t sort them anymore. Sort by user, drag them from center..... nothing works.
anybody can help??!!! pretty frustrating..

User order only works in Folder or Collection (including Quick Collection) Views. And only the lowest (non Parent) level unless Menu/Library/Include Photos from Subitems is unchecked.

Lightroom does not open from the dock or out of applications (directly). I only have the lightroom bar on the top of the screen. It allows me manually to select a catalog that I want to open but then I get the message "an error occured when attempting to change modules and a blank lightroom opens.
Sometimes I am able to create a new catalog but as soon as I close LR and want to open it again the next day or an hour later everything is gone/cannot open LR again.
I tried to reinstall LR. No change.
I am using Lightroom 1.3.1 on a Mac Book Pro 10.4.11
Hope somebody can help!!!

Wrong photo gets flagged

I have a weird problem with the wrong photo(s) often getting flagged for rejection in the Ligthroom3 Beta. Here's one way to make it happen:
1. In grid view select a number of photos, say 6
2. Switch to survey view
3. Flag all but 2 for rejection and click the little X box in the bottom right corner of the images to deselect them
4. Switch to Compare mode to compare the final 2 images. For this example, let's say images #3 and #6 are still unflagged and selected
5. Flag one of the images for rejection. Let's say you flag image #3.
6. Switch back to grid view
I would expect that photo #6 would not be flagged, and the rest would be flagged. Instead, all but image #3 are flagged.
I've also had the wrong photo get flagged when I still had multiple images in survey view, but I'm not sure what sequence of operations produces that behavior.
Is there something wrong with the way I'm trying to use flags?

Aperture 3 display wrong image while editing (video example)

Aperture 3, clean install, running on an upgraded Aperture 2 library. Whenever I make a change to a photo, Aperture displays the previous photo on the screen. It correctly edits the photo I have selected, it just displays the wrong image while doing so. Anyone else have this issue?

It seems you have a rare problem.
If the advice already given regarding upgrades fixes thing then all well and good.

Go to the finder and move everything in these folders to the trash:
Hard Drive/Library/Caches
Hard Drive/System/Library/Caches
Hard Drive/Users/Your username/Library/Caches
Then reboot.

However this is already set to none.
I am just importing from a CF Card in both Raw and Jpeg as seperate masters to new projects.
On camera, (Nikon D2Xs) I am fairly specific with my settings and once all images are imported, Aperture goes through and adjusts all the colors and levels to create what 'it' thinks is a correct image.
This happens shortly after clicking on an image to view it (once all images are imported).
I wish to keep all the colors and levels as shot but it 'pre-adjusts' it all for me to bring out the details in all shadows and changes colors to a different tint level.
Also, thinking about it, it's not saying in the adjustments tab that any adjustment are made. All those sliders are in the middle or where they are meant to begin.

Aperture Jumping to First Photo in Browser List

My Aperture library photos are organized into Projects and Albums. I use List View to browse my photos. Within each Album, the photos are organized in numerical order from lowest to highest. I’m using the most current version of Aperture 3.
I generally do some photo post-processing using Adjustments in Aperture. However when I use Aperture to edit a photo (Crop for example), Aperture usually (but not always) loses my spot and jumps to the first photo in the Album. This is in the Browser list, though the current photo continues to be displayed in the Viewer. When Aperture jumps to the first photo in the list, it is incredibly annoying and time consuming to get back to where I was in the list.
If I just use a Preset in Adjustments, e.g., Quick Fixes > Auto Enhance (without cropping), Aperture generally maintains where I am in the Album browser list. I can just go to the next photo in the numerical sequence.
This has been going on since Aperture 2.1. I have a lot of volunteer work coming up and I would like Aperture to function properly. Does anyone have an idea how to eliminate this jump to the top of the list bug in Aperture?

Hi. So your workspace is set up in Split View, with the Browser in List View?
How are you activating the adjustment? ("when I use Aperture to edit a photo (Crop for example), Aperture usually (but not always) loses my spot ...") If you continue with the adjustment, is it applied to the Image showing in the Viewer?
Just trying to understand better the behavior you're seeing.
