Aperture 3 and Facebook problem

I'm encountering a weird problem with Facebook upload through Aperture 3.1.
I found a few photos and dragged them into my Facebook albums through Aperture. It says synchronising but seems to public multiple copies of the same photo to the FB album.
If I delete multiples from FB it just copies them again after a while. If I delete them from FB, as soon as I restart Aperture they publish multiple copies of the pics I dragged through originally.
Any solutions?

Although I haven't encountered this problem, please read the following thread and you may reconsider the built-in Facebook syncing:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2625405&tstart=100
Fortunately, it's easy enough to export photos from Aperture to a folder and upload manually, but a half-baked implementation shouldn't even be shown as a option.

  • Aperture share to facebook problem

    Aperture 3.4.3 cannot share my photo's to my facebook account. In Aperture "facebook don't recognize" my account (see image). And when this message comes up Aperture hangs and connot be closed (only forced).
    What am i doing wrong? I tried several options i found on the internet (delete facebook cookie in safari/restart iMac/delete facebook account in Aperture/etc).
    But nothing helped.
    Does anyone have the same problem and how did you solve it?

    Thanks you both for your advice. With another facebook account there is no problem. All worked fine for me, so there seems tot be a problem with my first facebook account, but i don't know what.
    When i make an account in Aperture/preferences/Web i see the following message:
    I have checked my facebook account a hundred times, but still no succes.
    Anyone an idea?
    Kor.

  • Business Catalyst and Facebook problem

    I have seen threads on this subject as well as the articles, but I am not certain the problem was answered. I have added a Facebook "like" button to my Large Product Display (and the button works). The large product display has several upsell/cross-sell items on it.
    When I am testing it, I go to my FB page and look to see that it has indeed been posted. However, 2 problems show up.
    1. The photo shown is not the main item, but one of the upsell/cross-sell items.
    2. The descriptive text is using my footer text as the description.
    Where did I go wrong?
    I want to use the main photo and the product description (both of which are in the product's information). Is there a modifcation I can make to the module? Is something else needed?
    Chuck

    For this you would use the Open Graph Tags, in this case the < og:image > and < og:description >.  These are going to be Meta tags you will place in your Large Product Layout, using the image and description tags as the Meta content. Then when the page is loaded BC will place these into the head tag of the website.
    Something like this:
    <meta property="og:image" content="http://yoursitehere.com/{tag_imagepath}"/> //relative path might work, i tested a absolute path
    <meta property="og:description" content="{tag_description}"/>
    Another option is to use custom fields to populate these values.
    This page describes the Open Graph tags you can play with:
    https://developers.facebook.com/docs/opengraphprotocol/
    You can also use facebook's debugger to find out what info facebook is pulling from the pages you’re looking at, so you don't have to like and unlike things.

  • Aperture import and desktop problem

    My Aperture main screen had changed and can not be fully used, as some pictures are not vissible in the browser view. As well the picture if shown in full screen in the main screen is not shown properly - 1/4 on the right side is missing.
    Today I realized, that the missing 1/4 of the working desk is impacting the import - the menu to put create new project and all the data of the picture is missing - so totally impossible to import new pictures.
    Does any one know how to adjust the desk in Aperture and show/hide the importing dialogues?
    help appreciated.

    Hello Milo,
    a similar problem occured recently, see this discussion.
    The problem could be solved by removing the preferences file to the Desktop and restarting Aperture, for Aperture stores the layout of the main window in this file.
    The preferences file is ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Aperture.plist
    That file is in your User Library.
    Quit Aperture, if it is running,
    To reveal the hidden User Library in Lion, activate the Finder by clicking on the Desktop, then go to the main Finder menu at the top of the screen, and select the menu Go -> Go to Folder.
    in Lion now hold down the alt-or-option key, and your User Library will appear in the Drop down menu. Select it to open in Finder. (in other MacOS you can access your User Library by opening your Home Folder from the Finder Sidebar).
    Once your User Library is  revealed in the Finder, navigate to the sub folder "Preferences" and scroll down the long list, until you find
         com.apple.Aperture.plist
    move it to the desktop.
    Log off and log on again.
    restart Aperture and see, if the fix worked.
    And please, post back and tell us, if you were successful
    Regards

  • Aperture 3 and Facebook exporting???  doesn't update

    So I tried the new Facebook exporter from Aperture 3. You can only put pics in a new Facebook album, or drag them into an album that you have created from within Aperture 3. But when I add photos by dragging them, they do not show up on Facebook. Aperture 3 says they are there, but they are not on Facebook. How do I add photos to an album? Anyone else have this bug in Aperture 3?

    After you drag new photos into the Facebook album, you have to click on the little radar-wave-looking icon to re-sync the album. I think there is a setting somewhere to make it auto-refresh, but by default they're manually synced.
    It's annoying that you can't seem to connect to an existing Facebook album. Hopefully they'll fix that.
    It would also be nice if you could connect to more than 1 Facebook account (I don't think you can) -- my wife and I keep our shared photo collection on Aperture, but I think only one of us can use it to sync photos to Facebook.

  • Spotify and facebook problem with the date

    Hi, everyone.My spotify account have a problem with the date. I changed the date on facebook and nothing happens with that, the spotify account has a wrong date, is not the same as facebook account

    Hi ,
    By default , RFC accept date format of SQL date (yyyy-mm-dd) . If you are using a date picker from WD, it directly set the date in SQL date format. Incase if you are trying to pass date to RFC in some other way you have to convert that into SQL date format before passing.
    if you are passing String date of format dd-mm-yyyy , you try this method to convert that to SQL date and pass to your RFC.
    public java.sql.Date sqlDateConvert( String date)  {
        //@@begin sqlDateConvert()
         java.sql.Date dateObj=null;
         try{
              StringTokenizer tempStringTokenizer = new StringTokenizer(""+date,"-");          int dd=Integer.parseInt(tempStringTokenizer.nextToken().trim());
                                    int mm=Integer.parseInt(tempStringTokenizer.nextToken().trim());
              mm=mm-1;
              int yyyy=Integer.parseInt(tempStringTokenizer.nextToken().trim());
              Calendar cal =Calendar.getInstance();
              cal.set(yyyy,mm,dd);
              dateObj = new java.sql.Date( cal.getTime().getTime());
         }catch(Exception e)
              return dateObj;
    Hope this will help you.

  • Fixed YouTube and Facebook problems

    Greetings.
    Until today I had two issues on my iPod Touch 2nd gen:
    1. Every time I launched Facebook, I got a message prompting me to "Connect to iTunes to use push notifications" (more or less). Connecting to iTunes did not make the message go away. The app worked as normal, but seeing that message every time was pretty annoying.
    2. YouTube was not working. At all. Every time I launched it I got an error saying "Cannot connect to YouTube".
    I saw many people on these forums with similar problems, so I thought I'd post how I solved them.
    I simply restored the firmware on the iPod Touch. After restoring, I reinstalled all apps and settings from the previous backup. Some people report their problems remain if they restore from backup, but it worked just fine for me.
    That's all - restore from backup. Try it before you do anything else.
    Hope this helps!

    I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion..
    Before repairing your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to.
    How to backup?
    If the issue should still remain I think that this needs to be examined and fixed at a repair center. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.

  • 27 inch iMac hungs with Aperture 3 and Folder Problems

    This is more a statement than a question as it seems to be normal to have problems with Apple computers.
    A brand new purchased 27" iMac (less then a month ago) hangs continuously using Aperture 3 (officially purchased version).
    A rebooting was always neccessary and a harddisk repair via software as well.
    Unfortunately the only answer received by the Apple advisor of the Care Program was to follow the on screen instructions.
    I have to say, that I'm very disappointed by the Apple aftersales service. This is my 4th iMac and all of them ended up with harddrive problems, but none after only 3 weeks.
    Furthermore I noticed, that after performing the migration from my old broken iMac to this new one, information included in my agenda got lost or doubled and existing folders in Finder were copied just as an icon (can not be opened) and can not be deleted either.
    Regards,

    afelez,
    There are loads of things you can do to optimize Aperture, including trashing old caches and preferences and rebuilding your library. Also if you have a severely fragmented hard drive (although I doubt that's the case considering the age of your system), that can impact performance.
    It's also worth noting that Aperture isn't always the greatest at reporting that it's actually doing something. There are many times when Aperture actually is working, but it appears to be stuck. The way to know for sure is to check the Activity Monitor. If you see Aperture using lots of cycles, but seemingly not responding, it actually is working. Leaving it alone is the best thing to do. If you force quit, you will exacerbate the problem and end up running into the same issue again—but probably worse, as the system tries to recover.
    If you're still having issues, stop by www.ApertureExpert.com and go to the Forum, and post a question with as much detail as possible about your system. Lots of very experienced Aperture users in there, plus we can dig up old articles for you to read that will offer specific solutions to try.
    Good luck

  • Mail problems, slow browsing and Facebook problems after upgrading to Mountain Lion

    Hi !
    I have a 27” iMac from late 2009 which started acting really strange after upgrading to Mountain Lion.
    Before that everything works fine but now Mail does not work, will not send replies or add attachments and browsing has become so slow that it usually times out. Another strange problem is Facebook messages which does not work at all (cannot read nor send(.
    I have Lenovo laptop connected to the same network so I can benchmark and browsing works just fine on that aswell as FB messages.
    Anybody got a solution to this other than using the iMac for offline use only ?

    Hi !
    I booted both the modem and router but it did not help. Then I tried using the iMac on wireless and now it works so must be something in my D-Link router.
    Thanks for pointing me to the right direction !

  • Aperture 3 and Facebook

    Hi, I love the idea of uploading direct from Aperture however I'm worried about what happens if I had to reinstall Aperture or I bought a new Mac etc, would the album be deleted form the Facebook site?
    I know this happens in iPhoto as far as I'm aware.
    Thanks for any tips.
    Latest updates.

    Oh I see, thanks

  • IWeb 09 and Facebook problem

    Hello.
    The updated notification in Facebook don't work correctly. Instead to redirect to www.gianguidozurliphotography.com, it go to www.gianguidozurliphotography.com/GianGuidoZurli.
    The name after the / is the iWeb name of the website, but isn't a page in my site.
    I tried to remove it from iWeb, but is impossible. Any idea?

    I have noticed that since I am now using iWeb 09's ftp transfer function when I my site is published it has the file name of the site along with the website domain... for example:
    Correct:
    http://www.onceuponatimehairdesign.com
    Incorrect:
    http://www.onceuponatimehairdesign.com/OnceUpon_A_Time_HairDesign/Welcome.html
    It still goes to the correct site... I just don't know why it needs to have the title of my site after the domain. I was using another FTP client before iWeb 09 and didn't have that issue... Even though it does add the title I truly enjoy not having to save to a folder then transfer the files via the ftp transmit application.

  • LR4 and Facebook - problem

    hi,
    so i have set up my facebook account for the first time and tried to publish a few images.
    the upload process went well.
    but when i looked in FB it seems that it didn't automatically publish the images,
    meaning when i entered the album (that i have created via LR4) it showed me this messege:
    and just after a approved, the images were actually published in facebook.
    i was wondering how can i go around this process of approving each album?

    You're lucky it works at all!  As far as I can tell Adobe's Facebook plugin is non-functional.

  • Droid Eris 2.1 update and facebook problems

    I just downloaded the Eris 2.1 update and the new facebook update today.  I have had nothing but trouble since then.  I went to the Verizon store for help and got nowhere.  The facebook widget does not work.  The facebook ap works partway.  I cannot retrieve the newsfeed or profile from the ap.  HELP!

    This may have already been covered... haven't read all the posts... but I have lost the following due to the 2.1 update... 1. SPEED DIALING... 2. WEATHER AND LOCATION ON THE HTC Sense UI... 3. Voice Dialer keeps arbitrarily starting and locking up. 4. When I pull up my APP KILLER, it shows random apps are running... with as many as 8 different apps (many of which I was not nor have not used) are active.  It's no wonder battery is dying so rapidly.

  • Aperture 3 and Flickr sync problems

    Hi!
    I started using Aperture 3 recently and made the mistake of authorizing Aperture to sync with Flickr.  I hate it!  Now I want to deauthorize it somehow but don't know where or how?  I've read horror stories that all of my Flickr photos will be deleted from Flickr if I deauthorize, but none of my Flickr photos were uploaded from Aperture, they were already in Flickr and were automatically synced to Aperture once I authorized it.  Now that I realize I've made a mistake I want to get out, but how?
    TIA!
    Debbie

    I have been using the sync feature between my Aperture library and Facebook and Flickr for 6 months and I finally gave up on it yesterday.
    As an example of what I usually go through, I uploaded 159 photos to my flickr account this past weekend, then added some captions/descriptions/tags etc. on flickr (was that a mistake?). Then Aperture promptly undid some my work at the next synchonization... I don't want photos on my stream named DSC_6788.jpg, etc.  Thing is, Aperture undoes some of what I do on Flickr but not all.  There's no rhyme, reason, or pattern to it.  If I use Aperture to add tags (by entering keywords in the right field), even those partially disappear after the next sync.
    Another maddening thing is that it makes the filename the caption on Facebook albums.  I/e/. if, on Facebook, I added a desctiptive caption on a picture such as "Mommy and Daddy making out under the Eiffel Tower" (totally a made up example), then next time a synch happens, the caption would be "DSC_8646.jpg."  Gee, thanks for the help, Aperture.
    For 6 months I have lived in fear of opening up Aperture.  Will the sync mess up what I've published online?
    There should be option to not have Aperture override what you do on flickr (and Facebook).  I am a strong believer in the "Publish and Forget" model for places like Flickr and Facebook, not the sync model.
    For now, it's back to export to a folder and upload via the uploader.
