Aperture 3 - Export Slideshow Problems

I have exported a slideshow I created twice with the Aperture setting for 720p Apple TV - it exports and goes to iTunes - but when my Apple TV syncs it will not accept the movie - the error states that "X" movie has not sync'd because it cannot play on the Apple TV. Since I export it using the Apple TV setting I am confused.

I'm using the trial version of Aperture 3. I have exactly the same problem with exporting slide shows (even after the upgrade on my AppleTV and Aperture). Both using the Apple TV setting and custom settings to export a 1280 x 720 image with 24 fps. I had to give up on the concept of sharing my iPhoto library - but having wasted my last 24 hours trying to produce a high definition slide show (which I assume you have to use highest quality previews to do) - I am now feeling a bit cheated by Aperture 3.

  • Exporting slideshow problem

Using Aperture, I have been able to export a slideshow with music in 1080p and 720p. When I tried to do the same on both my MacBookPro and iMac, both OSX 10.8.5, in a lower resolution, the file will not open and I get the following error message:
License Error: mocha AE CS6 must only be launched from After Effects
Please visit our FAQ at http://www.imagineersystems.com/support/faq for further information.
When I go to that site, I cannot get any insight.
Previously, I've been able to export in smaller formats, but not now.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Tom

Does your exported slideshow video open, when you ctrl-click it and use "Open with > QuickTime Player"  from the contextual menu?
If yes, select one of the videos in the Finder, use the Finder command "File > Get Info" and set the "open with" for the video to "QuickTime Player".
And press the "Change all" button.

  • Export of Slideshow Problem

I am having a problem with exporting slideshows that are more than 10 minutes in length.  At exactly the 10 minute mark the images in the Quicktime Movie brighten up and are somewhat washed out from that point on.  This occurs even in the middle of an image (for example if an image runs from 9:56 to 10:10, it will brighten up exactly at the 10:00 mark).  Prior to the 10 minute mark everthing seems to be fine.  I've had this problem with several different slideshows.  I am using OS X 10.6.8 and Aperture 3.2.
Has anyone else had this problem?  Any suggestions for correcting the problem are appreciated.  Thanks.

I am having this EXACT same problem.
I posted my own question here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3699460
I have a slideshow that is appx 11:35 and contains 193 images and 3 songs.  At exactly the 10 min mark there is an overall boost in brightness that remains until the video is done playing.  I've tried various resolutions and formats, but in each try, the same issue occurs at the 10 min mark.  Viewing natively within Aperture this boost in brightness does not appear, only after exporting.
The theme I'm using is the Vintage Snapshots (may not be the actual title, I'm not at my Mac today - but it's the theme where snapshots are layered over the top of random images from throughout the entire show, with a ken burns effect)
I'm using the latest version of Aperture 3 on a 27" iMac Core i7 with 8GB of RAM and 2GB of dedicated GPU RAM on the 6970 card.
Hopefully Apple can help us with this one!!!

  • How can I export slideshows created in Aperture v3.3.2 from Mid-2009 MacBook Pro-17 to blank DVDs?

(Fifth futile attempt in two hours, before I learned there was a Post webpage – I’m new to ApSuppCom - and after I learned that I am not allowed to update previous content, so I had to back out, make a few changes, and start over.)  How can I export slideshows created in Aperture v3.3.2 (complete with superimposed captions and music tracks) from Mid-2009 MacBook Pro-17 to blank DVDs ?  (Some other specs: Mac OS Lion 10.7.5; Capacity 499.5 GB;  Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core  2 Duo; Memory 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3; Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256MB)
I cannot do a copy (export) without various error messages appearing and the inevitable stoppage occurring.  Always with the DVD Video Player final message reading, “Supported disc not available.” Advisors and Mac Geniuses at local Apple Stores have told me to try Roxio Toast.  When I visited the Roxio website, and found numerous other company products, the descriptions all seemed to suggest that most of the apps shown can easily export videos to DVDs, but nothing was said about finished digital slide shows being exported.  At future events soon,  I hope to be handing out these finished DVDs (free) to the people in them.   Any help will be greatly appreciated. How can I export slideshows created in Aperture v3.3.2 (complete with superimposed captions and music tracks) from Mid-2009 MacBook Pro-17 to blank DVDs ?
Aperture cannot burn slideshows to a DVD.  It only can export a video of your slideshow.
In Aperture 3 you use the "Export" button in Aperture's slideshow project to render a video to a folder on your disk.
Then you use iDVD or another program to burn a video DVD.
I cannot do a copy (export) without various error messages appearing and the inevitable stoppage occurring.  Always with the DVD Video Player final message reading, “Supported disc not available.”
Could you please describe the exact steps that are causing these error messages?
How are you exporting your slideshow from Aperture? Which settings are you using? And how are you importing the video to iDVD or Toast to burn a video DVD?

Aperture to export photos either TIFF or JPEG files, highlight and shadow transition has obvious faults, this problem solved!?

    What problem?
You will have to be _a lot_ more specific if you'd like responsible feedback.
I export thousands of TIFF and JPG files a week with no obvious faults.

  • Aperture 3 exporting problems

Seems that every time I try to export a file from Aperture 3, it hangs for a long time before it performs any exports - it is very slow. In Aperture 2, exporting a file that was 900x600 @ 72 dpi was instant, in Aperture 3 the same file takes 15 minutes - 4 files = 1 hour.
    Anyone know how to fix?

    Hi Photo*Gizmo;
You stated; "I see that this issue has not been answered by Apple in over a month, so either they don't care or they are overwhelmed by bugs."
Besides not responding to this forum, Apple doesn't even read this forum. It is a user to user forum. If you really want Apple to be aware of a problem you should use the feedback site instead of posting here.

  • Problem exporting slideshows without transitions

I've been trying to export slideshows (really QT movies) from iPhoto 11 (9.5) without transition effects. In other words, I just want to export the raw movie file as captured. In the slideshow settings, I cannot access "transitions," although the check box is not checked anyway. Every movie I export, however, includes a fade out at the end, which I definitely do not want. The other check boxes are working as they are meant to.
I'm using an iMac 2.9 GHz Intel i5, running Mavericks. Both iPhoto and Mavericks have been updated to the latest version. Anyone else having this problem? If so, any suggestions how to overcome it?
    Thanks in advance.

I don't beleive you can avoid the fade out, so I would add a black jpeg on the end of the slideshow so your last shot isn't faded.

  • OSStatus Error - 9459 while exporting slideshow from Aperture 3.0.1

While attempting to export a slideshow I get the message "Unable to Export Slideshow. The operation couldn't be completed. (OSStatus Error - 9459.)" This occurs when exporting to Apple TV or p720. Help please.

I received this error, when exporting the slideshow.
The slideshow took some time to export and the display on the Mac was set to sleep within the hour.
The display went to sleep and soon afterwards, I received the error.
If you have your display set to go to sleep then this could be one reason why you are receiving this error.
If not then I'm stumped for another answer.

  • Question: exporting slideshows

I have a slideshow with music saved in both iPhoto and Aperture.  But when I try to export it, all I am exporting is one slide.  I've tried to snag all the slides, and they seem to be selected, but again when I hit export all I send is slide one.  I have successfully exported slideshows before--but can't seem to do it now.

Is this slideshow in an album or in the iPhoto slideshow mode?  If in the slideshow mode click on it in the left hand pane and use the Export button at the bottom of the window.  Is that what you're trying?
If so and it doesn't work try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists.
If the problem does not exist in the new library then the culprit is your current library. In that case
make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and  apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If the problem exists in the new library it's a wider problem so try this:  make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

  • Iphoto 11 9.4.2 won't export slideshow

This is what I get when I try to export a slideshow.
    I have a Mac Book Pro 13 running 10.8.2
I have exported several slide shows before with my old white Mac Book.
I tried exporting slideshows with only 2 pictures, and still no luck.
Any ideas? thank you for your help in advance.

    Hello,
OT, so I tried to log in with a different account, and when I tried to import pictures to iphoto, I kept getting an error about a problem with the Flip4Mac plugin. I removed the Flip4Mac plugin and now I can export slideshows again. Kind of weird but it works, so now when I need Flip4Mac I just install it and uninstall it as needed.
Thanks for your patience and all the ideas OT, and Jose Luis, if you have Flip4Mac this might solve your problem, or it might be some other external plugin! Good Luck and thanks!

  • Exporting Slideshows in Different Formats

Ok everyone, I'm having a few problems. I just recently ugraded to iPhoto 5.0.4 and everything is fine and dandy, but I'm wondering if there's any way that I can export slideshows that I create in different formats. Let me explain my situation; I'm a high school student in an Advanced Biology class, and our class has it's own website for the projects we do. My teacher has asked me to try to figure out a way to create slideshows with all the pictures we have for the different projects, then save/export them in a format that we can post on a web page. A friend of mine recommended that we make a page with links so that people could select their connection speed and format that they would like to download the file in, for example QuickTime, Real Player, Windows Media, Flash, etc... I've figured out how to export the files in QuickTime and Real Player compatible formats, but that's it. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
    Jarrett

    Criag:
Yes, iPhoto doesn't support the 16:9 format for exporting. I suggest you useiMovie HD 6. It's still available to Mac users who have iLife 08 and are not pleased with the new iMovie which has been dumbed down from the V6 version. If you add the 16:9 photos to it you can export to that ratio. Also you'll have much more control over the audio trachs being able to cut out portions, fad in and out, overlap etc.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Why do iPhoto export slideshows have missing photos

    Hello Everyone
I am trying to export slideshows so I can burn to DVD later using iDVD.  But as i review my exported sideshow as a .mov file, it appears to have left out photos and is incomplete, it plays out the full music tracks but it simply is a white screen.  Very dissapointing after waiting so long for the export to complete.  This has occurred a few times.
    Please Help
    thanks

    1 - iPHoto is supported
2 - iPhoto can export slideshows
3 - if you want help you need to actually provide information - like what does happen - what error messages - anything else - simply saying "it does not work is not enough to have anyone help you solve your specific problem

  • Aperture Project Re-Import Problem

Aperture Project exported to aux. drive cannot be imported.  Getting "Error Importing Library" message; "The library could not be imported because it is from an out of date version of Aperture 3. Please upgrade the library to the latest version of Aperture"
The project is a 2009 project that was exported this year after I upgraded to 3.0, in an effort to create more disk space in my MacBook Pro.  I have several years of well over 100 Projects that I've exported "Projects as a New Library" and am now unable to re-import them for added work and access.
Is there a clear cut solution to this?  I've done some searching on web and it appears this has been a significant problem for other Apertures users as well.
    nikondon

    Hello nikondon,
First you need to upgrade your old Library. Select it in the Finder and double-click it. That will launch Aperture with this library and convert it.
(or hold down the Option key while clicking on the Aperture Icon in the Dock.  From the list of available libraries choose this particular one).
Then you will be able to import your old library into your current one.

  • Why won't iPhoto Export Slideshows in Mavericks?

After setting up a slideshow in iPhoto 9.5.1 running on a PowerMac with OS 10.9.5 (Mavericks), the app will not export the slideshow. Why not? How do I get a copy of iPhoto that works? Is Apple no longer supporting iPhoto? When and where will this be announced and what is the work-around suppose to be?

    1 - iPHoto is supported
2 - iPhoto can export slideshows
3 - if you want help you need to actually provide information - like what does happen - what error messages - anything else - simply saying "it does not work is not enough to have anyone help you solve your specific problem

  • Aperture 3 / Export Diaporama to Modify on Other Mac

    Hello everyone.
My workmate is finishing his version of an Aperture 3 diaporama on his Mac.
Is there a way we can export the whole diaporama from his machine and open it on my mac?
Our machines are quite similar, his is a 17 inch 2010 Macbookpro, and mine is the 2011 version of the same machine.
He's going have to leave town for a good while and I want to pick from where he left to finish the job on my computer. I hope my question is clear enough.
    Thanks a lot!

Do you mean a slide show?
Then I'd suggest to export the slide show as a new Aperture library and to copy this library to your Mac. When he returns, he can simply reimport the library into his library.
    To export the slide show:
Select the slide show in the Library Inspector panel
And in the Aperture Apllication menu select:
File -> Export -> Slideshow as New Library
    Regards
