Aperture 3 library not fully visible in iPhoto
Latest Aperture and iPhoto SW.
When I use Show Aperture Library in iPhoto I can only see the photos in SOME of the projects. Mostly ones I've worked on in the last three months.
This problem has only arisen as a result of installing Aperture 3.
I've tried rebuilding the Aperture and iPhoto libraries without success.
Any ideas please? David
would a Repair Permissions and a zap the Pram have any effect
I doubt that but thanks for the suggestion. On RP, as a result of using SuperDuper! to backup to a Firewire drive, RP is run nightly. Apart from that I had tried RP earlier plus the options available with Aperture by holding OPT-CMD at launch. There are several reported issues with Faces which require attention. Best guess is that what I see is Faces related. For the time being, I am not too concerned, especially if turning off Faces then enabling same works. For now, I am suspecting that if I do more Naming the A3 Library could vanish again from these locations. Overall, I am enjoying the features of Aperture 3 which is pretty fast on the i7 and not bad on the other iMac.

Field's content is not fully visible in Sap Transaction iview
Hello Friends,
I have deployed a Sap Transaction iview on my portal. I am facing a issue. When i do F4 help on a field, the content of columns is not fully visible in the opened up popup window.
Is there any way to adjust the colum width, so that it accomodates the whole content and doesn't truncate it ?
please help !
Regards,
ViditHi Vidit,
Try to check your Transaction iview directly from the browser / through services not through the EP. If the iview is not working fine then thre is a problem in the code otherwise it has to work
Check your code and try to redeploy

Aperture library not showing in mail, iweb or iphoto
After upgrading to 3.1 my Aperture Library is not coming up in other applications. It also is not showing up as an option for screen saver. Anyone have this issue?
Do you have everything looking right inside the library? Can you go into your Aperture library bundle and see if you have the following files: an ApertureData.xml file, an iLifeShared folder, and inside the iLifeShared folder a file called ApertureDatabaseTimestamp?

Current Aperture Library not seen by iPhoto
I work exclusively in Aperture for all of my photo needs, but recently decided to import some pictures into iPhoto for ease of uploading to Shutterfly (they had a plug-in for iPhoto). Much to my dismay, when I pulled up the "display Aperture Library" it showed a very outdated (6-8 months old) library! None of the recent photos were there, and a lot of old stuff that I had discarded showed up (although the picture had a "?" because it was missing). I tried both the Rebuild and Consistency Check (Command-Option at startup). I only have one library, and it is in the default location under the pictures folder. I am the only user on this iMac, and there is nothing in the shared folder either. I'm at a total loss.
The library from Aperture had never been moved or copied, and it was never altered in any way outside of Aperture itself. It has been and still is in the same place as it always has (on the local hard drive under the "Pictures" folder) and has never been renamed.
What I ended up doing is to create all new project names, moved all my photos from the old projects into the newly titled projects, and then deleted the old project titles. Somehow, this fixed the issue and iPhoto can see the Aperture Library now. I don't know how or why, but its working again. And I did nothing outside of Aperture (no copying, moving, renaming, etc. of the original Aperture Library file). -
Aperture library not available as desktop or screensaver option
Aperture library is not available as desktop or screensaver option. Nor is it available in Fotomagico. Any ideas?
Go into "System Preferences" -> "Desktop & Screensaver" -> "Desktop"
Scroll down the list on the left. The top categories should be the Apple default desktop images that came with Snow Leopard. Below that you should see iPhoto and it's events, albums, etc. Below that you should see Aperture with your projects listed below that.
Do you at least see the projects listed or does Aperture not even appear? Or is the problem that you aren't able to select any of the images from a project?
If the latter I'm wondering if you're missing previews. You might go into "Aperture" -> "Preferences..." and pick the "Previews" category. Make sure the check boxes are selected for "New projects automatically generate previews" and "Use embedded JPEG from camera when possible" (if your camera shoots in RAW+JPEG mode then it'll use the JPEGs from the camera as the preview instead of building it's own.)
You can force it to update previews but note that since it normally wants to generate previews automatically the 'Update Preview(s)' isn't a global function... it only rebuilds the previews for images you have selected (which means you have to go into each project, select all images, and do a "Photos" -> "Update Previews"
Beyond this, you'd probably need to run Aperture first-aid to determine if there is some corruption in the Aperture library preventing it from being used. -
Aperture library not showing up in upload browser
When I go to upload Aperture photos to the web, my Aperture library is not listed in the media browser. Only iPhoto and Photo Booth is there. I've had to go into Aperture and export the photos to upload them. This started to happen after I upgraded to Lion. Any suggestions?
Aperture did not show up in any other apps, but I found an discussion started by someone with the same issue, and the issue was resolved by creating a new library, then swicthing back to your original library. I tried this and it worked for me also. Here is the discussion: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2338518?start=0&tstart=0

Aperture will not import all CR2 (iPhoto is fine....)
I'm currently attempting to move from a PC to a Mac. For the most part this has been a positive experience however Aperture is starting to bug me.
My photo library has been copied across and some old NEF files converted to JPEG. The library is located in a folder in the Pictures directory. The entire library imports fine into iPhoto.
When attempting to import into Aperture I get seemingly random rejection of CR2 files. Photos prior to the failure import fine. Photos after the failure import fine. Around 20% of images are rejected.
When the failure occurs no error messages are sent to the console. Examination of photo metadata shows not significant differences between photos that work and photos that do not. Changing the file name to something shorter does not help.
Restarting Aperture does not work. Restarting the OS does not help. Downgrading to RAW 2.1 does not help.
The only similar report I have found was from people having issues with CF cards, and the solution was to copy the files locally and then import....
I'm not going to convert my CR2 files to DNG or JPEG just because Aperture is buggy. Other than that any suggestions would be greatly appreciated (is there an Aperture log file somewhere ?)
Camera: Canon EOS 30D
Aperture 2.1.2
OSX 10.5.6
Raw Bundle 2.5
iPhoto 09
Thanks !I seem to be having the same problem. I was to shoot an entire stage production with a canon 50D and when I only had a 4gb card at my disposal, I wanted to take some more pics so I went with Raw2. apparently aperture doesnt like this. it imported the project but all it gives me are thumbnails and in the canvas it says "unsupported image format".
what do they expect me to do...spin back time and reshoot the entire production? no i dont think so...apple needs to get on this (if they havent already) and make this work. -
HT2638 Aperture library seems lost/ unreadable? iphoto prompts ?
Im having trouble opening up an aperture library. Computer asks to open using iphoto - and to upgrade it - well that's been done...
next window says
"Your photo library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable"
These photos are important and cannot be lost but I am a bit desperate here... Can anyone help/advise ?Obviously the best plce to ask is on the Aperture forum. But you could try rebuild the library:
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. -
Aperture Library not working after update
Hello, I have a problem with my Aperture library.
I had Aperture 3.2.4, and a perfectly working library. I copied the library to an external hard disk, and reinstalled my OS, since I had just added an SSD.
I then installed Aperture 3.2.4, and tried to open the library, that I had copied back in Pictures, but I got this message.
To open this iPhoto library in Aperture, it first needs to be upgraded. Verify that you have iPhoto 9.3 or later. Then open the library in iPhoto to upgrade it.
Since I had not used iPhoto in a while, I don't understand why I get this message, especially since the library is called Aperture Library.aplibrary
I then tried to update Aperture to version 3.3, hoping this would help, but I got no reslut, I still get the same message.
I installed iPhoto 9.3, and tried to open the library, this time getting a different message.
Your photo library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable. Shut down and restart your computer, and then open iPhoto again. If the problem persists, try rebuilding your photo library. To do this, quit iPhoto, and then reopen it while keeping the Option and Command keys pressed. You can also try restoring your photo library from a backup.
I get the same message if I try to rebuild the library, I tried in Aperture and in iPhoto.
BTW, the masters are safe, I tried to recover them in a new Aperture library in the meanwhile, and I have all my pictures, the only problem is that they are about 15 thousand and they were divided into hundreds of different Projects. Now I have them in one project called "Recovered Files".
What should I do?I then installed Aperture 3.2.4, and tried to open the library, that I had copied back in Pictures, but I got this message.
To open this iPhoto library in Aperture, it first needs to be upgraded. Verify that you have iPhoto 9.3 or later. Then open the library in iPhoto to upgrade it.
Your copying seems to have corrupted your Library. When you open the "Get Info" panel on your library, what does it show?
The "General" brick should show "Kind: Aperture Library", and your recent Aperture Version; the "Open with" should show "Aperture". Or does tis show "iPhoto" library?
If the Library is shown as iPhoto Library, ctrl-click it to show the "Package Contents". What do you see inside? Do you see file- and folder names with "Aperture" or with "iPhoto"?
Also look at the original library on your external volume with "File > Get Info" from the Finder.
This is really weird. Usually the trouble shooting measures that Kirby pointed to should suffice.

Aperture Library not available in iMovie
I want to add some photos from my Aperture Library into an iMovie project. However, when I click on Aperture Library, it says "Loading", but the wheel keeps spinning forever and nothing happens. I have iMovie version 10.0.1 and Aperture 3.5.1. Aperture is also set up to automatically generate previews.
Does anyone recognize this problem and know about a solution?I am not sure (I don't use Aperture )but if you have a very large number of photos in your Aperture library it may be struggling to list them all in the iMovie window . You can also use the Finder to navigate your Aperture library and locate the photos you want. You can drag them singly or in groups directly to Events or even into the timeline.

Aperture Library not accessible (Aperture 2.1)
Hello
Aperture 2.1 on Intel-Mac suddenly ignores completely the content of my Aperture Library! The file ApertureLibary.aplibrary is there and with Finder I can see that my photos are included, but within Aperture I get an empty set - no photos are shown anymore. I can't remeber to have changed anything on my Mac so it is a complete mysterium why Aperture is not showing me my photos. I tried to delete preferences of Aperture but without success. It's very strange. Any ideas?
Best regards,
Gian-Reto.Than you for this hint. It helped - at least, my pictures are shown again.
But now, Aperture is rebuilding my projects each time I start the application (without option/command pressed, of course). That's not very comfortable, because starting time is much, much longer now. -
bought new imac computer and have an ipad and an old itouch. I cannot seem to get my ipad library to fully sync to the new imac. Only the purchased items go across. I have tried to look this up but i have over 1800 tunes yet only 496 are showing up on my imac now. probably being really dense but it is bugging me.
Any ideas where i can go to look to resolve. ? Thanks very much Bridgetah i see - ok i will have a look at this option then. Many Thanks

ACR Dialog Box not fully visible issue CS6
I've got an issue with the ACR Dialog Box in PhotoshopCS6 when opening RAW files.
The names various parameters (Temperature, Tint, Exposure, Blacks, Contrast etc.) are not visible, however you can see the sliders.
It looks like a graphics issue as the background is black, but you cannot aee any text save for that in the WB dropdown.
I've Googled this but not found any similar issues. It's very odd. Deleting the preferences hasn't made a difference, neither has a fresh install.
See screen grab below
Any suggestions welcome!
ThanksThanks people for your swift solution. I did look in the forums as well as in search engines, but didn't find these posts.
I'll reinstall (or overwrite) the OS.
FYI I'm on 10.8.4 on a Mac and do have MacKeeper, so there must be something in it.... grrrr
Like people say it doesn't effects the 'normal' PS menus/screens, but does the ACR and I just checked the SAVE FOR WEB, and that too has the same issue.... (ACR 8.1 - PS 13)
Hopefully someone clever will actually work out what it is that's being lost or corrupted.
Thanks again!
