Aperture 3 & Mobile Gallery

Anyone know why once you have created a Mobile me Gallery in Aperture 3 with a Gallery description then published to your gallery online, you can't change the description (not the title by the way) later. Well you can in Aperture but after you publish update/change it does not change the on online gallery.
Any suggestions would be great, as this is very annoying.

Apple did seem to drop the ball on this one. There is no way from within Aperture to add a watermark to an image set to Facebook, Flickr or MobileMe. This is a highly requested feature so add add your voice to the crowd requesting this by going to [Apple Aperture Feedback|http://www.apple.com/feedback/aperture.html]

  • How to include Aperture web gallery in dreamweaver site

With the demise of mobile me I need to find a way to keep my personal website photo albums (web galleries) that I currently publish via Aperture web gallery and then use a hyperlink from my Dreamweaver web site. This means visitors can view the photo's from a link button but the actual images they see are Aperture Web Galleries. This method has worked for me for a while now.
I know you can save a complete web gallery from Aperture onto a local drive rather than upload to mobile me. Does anyone know a beginners (ie me) guide to include that Aperture web gallery directly into a Dreamweaver site?. It feels like it should be possible but can't find any help.
    thanks in advance.
    Peter B.

    Hello Peter,
What I do, to link my Aperture galleries to my iWeb pages, is to export the galleries from Aerture to my disk and then to upload them using ftp to a folder at my web hostings service. Then I link the iWeb pages to the gallery using link button or string. I use the free FTP program CyberDuck http://cyberduck.softonic.de/mac to copy the gallery using ftp. If your web hosting service allows ftp transfer, you could do the same. CyberDuck is really a smart little tool, but any program that allows ftp transfer would suffice.

  • How can I create a link to an external site in my aperture web gallery?

Very keen to add a link to my main home page so people can go from my web gallery at www.smartstreets.eu back to my home page at www.smartstreets.co.uk
Anyone know a way to do this?
Also wondered if I can change the font, size, format (eg bold etc) in the theme I have chosen .. this seems to be set and cannot be changed.
Any ideas? Any places I can try for great third party web gallery themes? Thank you!

I don't know how to accomplish this when using Aperture's built-in web gallery feature. My suggestion may help until you find out how to do that. I suggest buying iLife '08 and using iWeb to create your web galleries. The iWeb media browser shows your Aperture library and albums so there's no need to export-import. You do need to generate previews for photos to use in iPhoto. iWeb is much more powerful than Aperture's gallery layout tools, plus there are many themes available. Think of iWeb as an export plugin for Aperture.

  • I have the mobile gallery with an album of photos to be shown as a slide show. I cannot find how to Chang the viewing time. I'd like it to be 10 seconds. How do I do it. I have tried changing the general set tins in photo and pictue frame, but that doesn'

How do I set different viewing times for the mobile gallery.
I' like to change it from about 3 seconds to10 seconds.

I hope this is something that will be corrected in the next vision of either theoperrating system, or in the gallery. three seconds is way too short for showing pictures to friend while telling abut them. Even apple's screen savers ware slower between the transitions.
I'll do a search ontne store for an app. Do you think I should search for a different photo display, or for something that allows one to change settings on the current gallery app?
    thanks

  • Aperture mobile me gallery

    http://homepage.mac.com/pixiegirl/test%20webgallery/
I'm try to make a photo gallery I can use in iWeb via an iframe (not even sure what that is yet but one step at a time). I already posted about it in this post:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=13305340#13305340
I'm trying to get something similar to this guys gallery:
    http://web.me.com/perinirf/MyDarkroom/nycstreet1.html
But he has small thumbnails... how do I get my thumbnails really small? I know he used a different theme then I did but when I uploaded to mobileme it said it was generating thumbnails, I'd like them way smaller.
If I get this figured out then I can put it in an iframe in my iWeb, correct ? First I need to figure out how to do the Aperture Gallery.
    Susan

You can just make the gallery in iWeb, you don't need to make the web page in Aperture first.

  • Aperture web gallery - how to link back to main page from iWeb?

Okay, this may be simple, but I can't figure it out.
I created and uploaded a few web pages with iWeb to my dot.Mac account (web.mac.com/f8lee50) just to get a feel for things. I then created a web gallery with Aperture and uploaded it - naturally Aperture generated a URL for the gallery, which I set up as a link on my "Photos from Hawaii" page (the link is the word 'this' in the second paragraph, if you wawnt to look).
Okay, so this gets me from the "photos from Hawaii" page to the gallery, and within the gallery I can jump to the various images etc. But how does one navigate back to the "Photos from Hawaii" page from whence they came? Is there some sort of smart link that can be inserted (by Aperture?) that will send the viewer back to the main homepage? Or are the Aperture galleries essentially dead ends?

Richard, thanks for responding - I'll check that tutorial.
And thank you for the kind words, me100finn. I have not played with any variables as far as layout on the gallery (I did a bunch of stuff with the books, but the web gallery seems far less flexible) so I cannot answer your wuestion about the gray shadows.
Steve, thank you for the additional clarification (and the hint about spaces in URLs) - I guess what this all boils down to is that the web galleries from Aperture are not all that useful when they are meant to be a part of a bigger overall site. I'm not sure of what you meant when you say they have little forward or backward navigation in them - at least you can click on a thumbnail to get to an image, click next or previous or the grid to get back to the thumbnail galery. But, 'twould seem that hand coding HTML pages (the very thing I was hoping to avoid) is the only way to really integrate them. Given that, I gues the better approach will be just to use iWeb to load the images anyway.
Well, folks, thank you all for your answers. Until I do a re-do, I guess the back button is the way to go (which, for the record, I did sorta figure out myself

  • Aperture web gallery not displaying properly in browser

I've created a web gallery, which looks fine in Aperture, but when I view it from my .Mac site, the thumbnails are shifted to the right, rather than being between the title / page selection and the footer.
This is the same when viewing the gallery on my Mac using Safari, and also Windows machines with Firefox etc.
Is it a problem with the template?

I had the same issue. Even recompiled the web page with smaller jpgs but once again the body was off to the right and the header was on the left of the page. I'm using my laptop with a 19" external monitor, when I'm viewing a website I'm using the entire width of the external monitor... maximizing screen size. When I pulled the bottom corner to make the web page smaller, the body of the web gallery dropped below the header and looked just like it should normally. Hope this helps.

  • Aperture Web Gallery & .Mac

I wasn't sure if I should post this here or on the .Mac site. I'm not sure where the problem lies. I have four web galleries from Aperture uploaded to my .Mac account. They range from 6 to 15 "screen" pages of content.
One of the web galleries has started to skip a page:
    http://homepage.mac.com/kazmos/Individual%20&%20Team%20Photos/
It, and all the others, was working fine. However, the above site has stopped showing page 5. I can scroll through or click on "5" directly and nothing shows up. This just started happening. It was fine last week.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

Well, it sure seems like page 5 is empty - no source either. You could go into your iDisk and check on the file size to make sure it is not empty:
    iDisk/Sites/Individual & Team Photos/index5.html
If it is, perhaps try deleting it and then re-generating the gallery?
It's odd that the page would go empty without you touching it.
If the page is there, perhaps check to make sure it is not locked (though you'd think it would be readable even so).

  • How to open the mobile gallery?

    Hi everybody,
I'm doing a project in j2me. In which i need to open the mobile phone gallery and select the file to upload to the server.
Please help me how to open the mobile phone gallery.
is it possible to open by using fileconnection?
Gallery should include the memory card also.
    thanks in advance..
    Regards,
    Ramesh.P

Yep,you have to look at JSR 75 (File Connection API). But:
    1) You need to understand is your phone model supports JSR 75
// if prop==null, then this phone doesn't support JSR-75, otherwise you'll get File Connection API version
String prop=System.getProperty("microedition.io.file.FileConnection.version");2) You need to exactly locate on phone file system where is image gallery and/or memory card
// get image gallery full url
    String imageGalleryURL=System.getProperty("fileconn.dir.photos");
String memCardURL=System.getProperty("fileconn.dir.memorycard");After all of that file opening is easy...

  • How to post .m4v slideshow video from Aperture to Gallery?

    Hello!
I have posted lots of photo albums from Aperture to my MobileMe Gallery, it's great.
Now I made a slideshow in Aperture and exported it as a video in MobileMe/YouTube format .m4v 640x360 but don't know how to upload it to my MobileMe Gallery in the "video" section, the me.com uploader refuses to upload it (it's small only 60 or so MB). Seems not possible to export to MobileMe from Aperture as the photos.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Thanks! I did not know one could post from Quicktime player, very nice, thanks for the tip!
Now the only inconvenience is that it is posted to the user's main MobileMe account, and I have 5 (family account) and wanted it posted to another, but that's not critical at this time, I could just logout and login just before uploading. In Aperture it's better done since one can upload photos to whatever gallery you choose.
I hope the next versions of Aperture will allow uploading of video slideshows to MobileMe galleries, but in the meantime, your tip to use Quicktime is great!

  • Aperture Web Gallery Uploaded to .Mac Site, can't find

Well, I uploaded my web gallery that I made in Aperture by clicking on the upload to web gallery button in aperture. It loaded them to .Mac but it's not like iPhoto 08 where you can easily find the gallery and email it to friends or change anything. It just dumps them online, and gives a url, but it doesn't link to your .Mac page under web gallery and so if you don't copy and paste the url that aperture gives you after you upload, then your screwed. I know the url, but my question is:
How do I put up a web gallery like they do in iPhoto 08, where I can just click a button and email the gallery, or email it, change the page, and all that neat stuff that Steve Jobs did in his speech? Do I have to get iPhoto in order to do all of that?
    Thanks,
    Lainey

Yes, it's an iPhoto '08 feature that they were demo'ing, not an Aperture feature.
(See the many other threads here on this very issue!)

  • How to load an Aperture web gallery to .Mac?

I have tried following the instructions in the Late-Breaking News bulletin to no avail. I think it would help if I understood what I'm trying to do. I clicked on "Publish to .Mac" and after some minutes the gallery appeared to be sent somewhere but I don't have a clue where. Could someone explain to me in clear English what happens in the process of publishing to .Mac? Then maybe the instructions will make more sense to me.
    Thanks,
    John

    John,
The address can be seen under the "Publish Album As" name in the dialog box after you click "publish to .mac" button.
For example I want to "Publish Album As" Gallery1. The address will be "http://homepage.mac.com/username/Gallery1"
You could also group your Aperture created galleries by adding a directory when you assign "Publish Album As"
For example you want "Gallery1" to publish to a directory called "aperturegalleries". Simply type "apperturegalleries/Gallery1". The address will then be "http://homepage.mac.com/username/apperturegalleries/Gallery1"
    Hope this helps,
    Edwin

  • Aperture Web Gallery - Adding Shopping Cart

    Hi,
If I am using the Web Gallery feature in Aperture to create sites and I want there to be an add to cart button on each "large image page" (the page that appears when you click a thumbnail), how can I edit the template that Aperture uses to create the site so that it includes this add to cart button?
    Where are the templates stored?

    found it:

  • HT5132 Aperture mobile me problems

How can I stop the transfer of albums from mobile me I have several albums & it takes forever to do this process I have backups already I don't want this to happen its stopping me using Aperture please help !

    Hi Martin,
Quit Aperture - force quit if necessary
Disconnect the internet (Wi-fi, Ethernet, whatever you have), before you launch Aperture again.
Now the panel should no longer appear - if it does, press the "Learn more" button, not o.k.
Then use the "File > Web Accounts > Manage Web Accounts" menu entry from Aperture's main menu bar and remove "MobileMe" from the list of accounts in the accounts pane by pressing "-".
After that, open the System Preferences > MobileMe > Accounts pane and sign out of MobileMe.
    Good Luck
    Léonie
P.S: instead of force quitting you might  try this:
If Aperture is unresponsive, how to avoid force quitting?

  • Lightroom Mobile gallery image limits?

Sorry, I searched and couldn't find any info on this, unless I am not wording my search correctly…  I understand there are max GB limits in the creative cloud but is there an actual image amount limit in Lightroom mobile.  For example, if i create hundreds of lower res jpgs for a client to review for an edit, is there a limit to how many Lightroom Mobile will support in one gallery?  thx,  tbyrd

I've not seen a limit, and I've one synced collection with >2000 images.
One point is that these images don't need to be JPEGs, unless you're worried that the client may figure out how to save pictures from the browser.
