Aperture 3 not available in media browser

I downloaded the trial version of Aperture 3 and bought a downloaded license to upgrade my Aperture 2 installation. However, Aperture no longer appears in the media browser in any application (and not just the images, Aperture isn't even an option, just iPhoto is there). I read online about iLife Support 9.0.4, but it doesn't appear for me in software update, and it isn't listed in the Apple Support Download page or on the iLife support page.
Does anyone have any idea how I can get Aperture back into the media browser?
Thanks

Add me to the list too. No more mediabrowser.
I am also wondering, in case of multiple libraries, which one does Aperture pick ?
The one that you last worked with ?
Maybe this is what is causing this. Since Aperture 3 is unmanageable slow on my (3 months old) MBP, I began splitting up my library into multiple libraries to see if it would help.
I'm still in the process of exporting so no idea yet on snappiness, but maybe there is a difference for the mediabrowser for people with only one library, or multiple libraries ?

  • Most aperture photos not showing in media browser

I have Aperture 1.5 and I can view all of my albums from the media browser, but when I click on an album, most of the thumbnails are exclamation points and they wont drag into any pages documents. Some photos in the albums show up and they go into my documents just fine.
I have gone into aperture and selected ALL 13,508 photos and forced thumbnail regeneration, but I am still having the same problem.

  • ITunes library not included in media browser, can't share with iLife apps

My iTunes library is no longer included in my media browser previews in other iWork and iLife applications. Not sure when it disappeared, but I know it used to be there! Only recent changes I can think of are I recently migrated all data and accounts on my old iMac to the new iMac using Migration Assistant and I also recently changed the location of the iTunes library from an external drive back to the internal drive. Anyone have any ideas as to what's going on here?
    Your help is much appreciated!

Sorry to update the status, but I've also noticed that my iPhoto, iMovie and Aperture libraries are not being shared in the media browser either. I'm thinking OS X is looking in the wrong place for these libraries as a result of the Migration to the new Mac for some reason, but I really don't know. Any help?

  • No Aperture Icon in Keynote media browser

I am new to Keynote.  I only download it yesterday.  When I went to the media browser it only showed the iPhoto icon.  It did not include Aperture as an option.
I store my photos mainly in Aperture.  So I cannot access my photos to place them in the presentation.
How do I make the Aperture icon apear in the media browser?

I followed your suggestion and reinstalled aperture but it still does not show up in the media browser.
Do you have any more suggestions?
    Thanks in advanced.

  • I Cannot browse allimages in stack in aperture album with osx media browser

    Hello,
The osx media browser only shows one picture from stack. All images are browsable unstack the
images. Is this by design, if so, should I just create album per stack? Is there any better to browse stacks?

Another reply to my own question:
If one exports a Project as a new .aplibrary the boxes
    Consolidate masters into exported library
      and
    Include Previews in exported library
    should be ticked.
The new library then displays in iWork media browser as expected.
I've RTFM but can't find reference to having to do this:
Ticking the "New projects automatically generate previews” checkbox in Previews Preferences does not make Previews available in these new exported libraries.

  • Photo thumbnails not displaying in Media Browser

Every time I open a program that features the Media Browser (which is just about everything in Leopard, these days), I never see thumbnails for my iPhoto images. I just see exclamation point icons-- in other words, the images themselves are never displayed.
In iPhoto, I can see individual pictures, but not events. For events, the images are just embossed "blank" boxes. I don't understand what's happening... can anyone offer some help so I can get my Media Browser working the way it's supposed to... along with iPhoto?

  • ITunes & iPhoto on external drive not showing in Media Browser

I moved my iTunes and iPhoto libraries to a NAS device on separate hard drives.  Independently they work and I can access them through their respective programs, HOWEVER, when I want to use them in Keynote, Pages, iMovie, etc. they don't show up in the media browser.  I have a couple of questions...
    1. Will the media browser work with these libraries on external sources?
    2. Do I need to set up some sort of alias on my Mac HD to point the media browser to those libraries?
    3. If so...how?
Hoping someone has the answer, or at least can point me in the right direction...

I am not sure if they will work off a NAS, but I don't see why not. (But iMovie Events will not work off a NAS)
See this post and focus in on the part about trashing the iApps plist. I would try to trash it and then open up iPhoto and iTunes to repopuplate it. Then try to see if the Media Browser works in iMovie. You should not need to trash the iMovie plist, but it would do no harm if you did.

  • External hard drive not accessible in media browser!

It's not a RAID or anything out of the ordinary. Just a Mac OS Extended (Journaled) drive. Media browser will not let me click on the drive to see the media and it doesn't actually show up under Local Drive. I have permission to read and write to the drive. Help please, it's getting maddening!

Is that a Case sensitive hard drive?

And, Yosemite sometimes has problems, often related to "default" permissions needing to be changed

  • Movie does not appear in Media Browser

I attempted to share a large movie file via Media Browser. It's about two hours of photos, movies and music. My iMac spent about 8 hours rendering (not sure if that's the correct word) overnight. All appeared well this morning, but in the Med Browser it says my movie has not been prepared for sharing. In the iMovie Projects folder, I displayed Package Contents. The folder within that for Movies had no apparent content though the Get Info shows it to be 11+ GB.
    Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have you read 'Preparing your Final Cut Express or Final Cut Pro movie to work with iDVD' at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iDVD/7.0/en/6652.html
Note it ends by saying "A QuickTime file that references your Final Cut Pro movie is created on your hard disk. This is the file you will add to your iDVD project. When you are ready to add it to your iDVD project, you can simply drag the file from your hard disk directly into iDVD. "
It also applies to Final Cut Express.
That's what you need to do - drag the file from your hard disk directly into iDVD

  • Aperture Library and iLife Media Browser - Showing Deleted MobileMe Gallery

I'm currently using Aperture 3.1 and iLife '09 and just noticed that when I try to access the Aperture Library from say iPhoto or Keynote that the list of folders contains two MobileMe folders with my name, one of which contains dupicates of two of my gallery's. Now I deleted all of my MobileMe gallery's to see if I could fix this, but it still shows a MobileMe folder and two gallery's that no longer exist. I even logged out of MobileMe in Aperture, but still in the iLife Media browser the non-existent gallery's are still shown. I even tried deleting all previews and re-generating in Aperture, to see if the sharing information would be updated, but still these phantom gallery's persist. I guess this doesn't cause me any problems, but I would just like to fix it and wondered if anyone else had seen this and knew of a solution? Thanks.

  • Why is my 7200rpm external drive not findable in Media Browser?

I'm sure this is a basic issue, but I've not been able to find anything helpful.
I'm a relative newcomer to editing, so I may be missing something obvious.
Wanting to use this OWC 3tb FW800 or usb3 as a media drive, but I can't import from it via any option.
Does Premiere absolutely require a RAID or TB drive?
    Many thanks.

  • IPhoto images will not appear in Media browser

After updating my iLife apps (iLife '09), iPhoto images no longer appear in my media browser. In iMovie, it just says "Loading iPhoto Images", but never does. I am using a Macbook with OS X 10.5.8 and 2 GB memory. Images will not appear in iDVD either. Anyone have any thoughts?

Do you still have the old library? Rebuilding it with iPhoto Library Manager would preserve most of your work.
This will creates a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Clip markers not saved in media browser after closing project

I suppose when I set markers in clips opened in the mediabrowser the're not saved because the clip is not brought in the project  or is there a workaround to save hem even when not in the project?

    The explanation makes sense.
The solution does as well - import the clips.

  • Pages not available in web browser

When I try to preview my web pages in the browser I get error

company and the connection is fine. I must have done something
incorrect when I set up the individual pages. Can anyone shed some
    light on this please?

    > This is when I try to view the page on the remote
    server.
    Open the dw Files Panel.
    Connect to the remote site.
In the root level of the remote site, are there folders there
    that you did

    similar?
If yes, put that folder name into the box labeled "host

connect and upload the files. Are they there now?

What is the filename of this site's "homepage" ?
It should be lowercase index.htm or index.html for 99% of the
