Aperture 3 not compatible?

I've been attempting to update my iPhoto '09 to iPhoto '11 without success. I wanted to make sure I was as up-to-date as possible and still be able to use iWeb to publish my site. I've owned Aperture for quite some time but was frustrated that it took significantly longer for me to accomplish simple tasks so I've been continuing to use iPhoto. I was thinking of starting from scratch for my site in 2013 and using Aperture to edit my pictures. I picked a couple of December events (not iPhoto events, but actual parties, dinners, etc.) to practice with. Unfortunately, every time I add an album of pictures from Aperture 3.4.3 to my iWeb 3.0.4 there's an FTP error when publishing. If I choose the same pictures from an album in iPhoto 8.1.2 there's no problem. I've created a new Aperture library to start from scratch and the same thing happens. This is reproduciable with a new iWeb domain as well. Is there something I'm missing? Why would Aperture apper as an option in the media browser if it wasn't compatible?

Have you tried deleteing the iWeb preference file?
1) Quit iWeb.
2) Delete the following file: (in Lion go to the "GO" menu & hold the option key to reveal the Library) Library/Preferences/com.apple.iweb.plist
3) Relaunch iWeb.

Aperture is not compatible with Apple TV

Apple Support has confirmed that the preview function in Aperture is not compatible with Apple TV. Don't buy Aperture if you want the same resolution on Apple TV! Stick with iPhoto!!

Works fine here, but must note that only a single Aperture Library can be selected, and this is to the exclusion of the iPhoto Library.
Right-click on the Aperture Library and choose Show Package Contents. Look for the iPod Photo Cache folder, and open it. Is it populated by lots of subfolders, which in turn have content? What is the date that the iPod Photo Cache was last modified. You may not be able to check this now, having dumped Aperture, as you say.
This folder is the source of what iTunes will see for sharing. It probably can be removed, and then rebuilt by selecting what to Share. Or maybe just removing its contents, and rebuild the selections. But there is one per Aperture Library, and one in the iPhoto library, which is why only one source can be used to sync.

Cannot update to 3.5 on older MacPro and 3.5 not compatible with 3.4.5

It appears that you cannot update Aperture to 3.5 on older Macs. Worse yet the new update is not compatible with the previous version.
The questions are ---
Is this a temproary issue or a permanent issue?
Can I regress back to version 3.4.5 to get my compatibility back ?
I have multiple computers I use to work on my photography.
I use a older Mac Pro Vintage late 2007 that cannot be updated beyond OS 10.7.5. This is currently my primary photo computer.
With 3ghz Quad cores and over a terabyte of drive space no need to update yet except for not being able to load the latest OS.
I also use a MacBookPro Vintage Late 2011 and it was just updated to Mavericks. I use this to edit my photos on the go.
I will consider updating to the latest Mac Pro when it becomes available but what to do until then and a warning to others.

Actually, I had this same problem - accidentally upgraded my library on my Mac Air to 3.5, but am not running Aperture 3.5 on any of my other, older Macs. I *was* able to downgrade the library back to 3.4.5. BAsically, I had to open the library on a computer running Aperture 3.4.5 in library repair mode (holding down command and option when opening). In the ensuing dialog I had to choose to rebuild the library. I first tried just repairing, and it seemed to work, but next time I opened Aperture I got the "library can't be opened iwth an older version of Aperture" message. Rebuilding it seems to have done the trick.

Having restored the library to 3.4.5 format, I downgraded Aperture on my Air to 3.4.5 as well and it's been smooth sailing. Just make sure you have Mavericks set up to *NOT* automatically update your apps, or you'll end up in the same situtation all over again when it silently upgrades Aperture to 3.5 again.

Aperture not working with OS 10.6.7

Hi, I had to restore my Macbook Pro from time machine due to disc corruption issues.
Now Aperture 3 is no longer starting and the error message states that the software is not compatible with the OS system.
Have downloaded the aperture programme again from apps and reinstalled it. No change.
I am in a Mac desert here and need some help. I know that a error report has been sent to apple but do not know how to contact them direct.

Sorry forgot to say that the OS was previously upgraded and according to machine checks the computer software was up to date. So rather do manual updates from the apple site.

There is no downloadable version of Mail.app - it comes with the operating system i.e. on your install disks.

There have been a few reports on here where Corsair RAM seems to have caused users a lot of grief with crashes.
The recommendation on here, mostly, is to only buy RAM from macsales.com or crucial.com as they guarantee their modules will work and offer a no quibble lifetime guarantee.
I'd put the original RAM back in, return the Corsair chips for a refund and re-order from one of those two companies.

I have installed Firefox4 to find it is not compatible with my version of OSX how do I get version 3.6 back or do I just give up and use Safari?

I downloaded Version 4 and installed it. At no point did it say that it was not compatible with the version of OS X that I am running (10.4.11) now that it is installed it will not open but it has already up graded from 3.6 so I have lost the lot. How can I download a version of 3.6 so that I can use it again or should I just pack up and use Safari as all I can get from your site is version 4. HELP!!!

I need to silently upgrade from 3.5 to 7 but get an error message after 7 install. Platform version 7.0 is not compatible with minVersion = 1.9.1

I'm trying to silently upgrade my environment to FF 7. I've gotten the silent install working great, it puts in my Proxy Server info, reassigns the home page and all that. But, the last version we pushed out was FF 3.5. If a user had that on their PC and they run the FF7 install, they get weird messages when clicking on the icon.

Do you have other virtualization or security software that might protect .ini and possibly other files in the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\) and prevent Firefox from updating them properly?
You need to do a clean reinstall.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Browser informed me that the 3.16.7 version was not secure; I should upgrade to 4.0
First problem was the kaspersky was not compatible.
Second problem was hp photo not compatible.
Third is the browser user interface is too different from expected.

Firefox will not open after new update; Error: Platform version '1.9.2.13' is not compatible

After accepting the new update I got this error message when trying to restart Firefox:

I have tried:
- Opening in Safe Mode; same error
- Uninstalling, deleting remaining info in C>ProgramFiles>MozillaFirefox folder, and reinstalling.
- Updating Avast antivirus in case that was interfering.
Now when I try to start Firefox I get this message;
Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.
But there is nothing happening in the Windows Task Manager. Please, somebody save me from Windows Internet Explorer!!

I experienced this error updating from Firefox 3.6.13 to 3.6.14 and resolved it by doing a 'clean' install' as described. It occurred again in updating from 3.6.14 to 3.6.15 and this time a clean install failed to rectify it. (Anyway, I don't want to have to go through this every time.)
Work-around: Shut down Firefox. Edit application.ini (typically "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\application.ini")
