Aperture 3 synchs photos to iphone in wrong order

When I synch my photos to the iphone from iphoto they show in the correct order by date.
When I import this library to Aperure 3 and synch this one to the iphone they are all in a random order.
How can I set them to be sorted by date??
They show in the correct order in Aperture!

I have been synching my photos from Aperture 2 to an iPod Touch for several years. There has ever only been one sort order once they reach the iPod—in Projects and folders by name in alphabetical order. I keep them in Aperture by date, but they wind up in the iPod by name and I've never found a way to change that. So maybe the situation is different with iPhoto, because you say you've been able to get them into your phone by date.
I'd say you've just joined the Aperture crowd, and all we get is alphabetical order.

  • Photos on iPhone in wrong order after sync with iMac iPhoto

I just purchased my iPhone 6 and am trying to get it all set up with my photos stored on iPhoto on iMac. When I sync phone using iTunes all of images sync over. Not a problem. But here's where the issue is... On my iMac in iPhoto, all photos are displayed correctly with right time and date (along with locations). However, once syncing to my iPhone, a select 6 photos (random ones) are being displayed as taken most recently (yesterday) with wrong location. To be clear, this isn't under events but rather "Moments" on the Photos tab on iPhone.
What is going on? It looks fine on iMac. I have never adjusted the time and date of these photos so not sure how this is even possible. I'm using iOS 8.1. Thanks for your help!

My iPhone 4 camera roll decides to rebuild the library every once in a while and everytime this happens, it moves my most refer pictures and places them some where in the middle of the camera roll, making my last pictures I took with my 3Gs the most recent ones showing at the bottom. Small inconvenience but it looks like someone at Apple screwed up in setting up the sequence numbering of these pix and now it's a pain for the end users.
Has anyone experience the same issue and been able to successfully solve the problem? Please help.
    Thanks

  • Synching Photos to iPhone 4 w/iTunes 10.2.1.1 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine

iTunes does not synch photos if they are not on the primary disk drive. I have all my photos on a separate hard drive on my Dell to free up space on my primary drive, but iTunes would always hang up when it came to the synching photos step when I tried to put photos on my iPhone. The synching bar kept indicating that it was doing something, and the status message was "moving photos." But two hours later I finally quit synch and found that everything synched as it should except not a single photo transferred. Moving copies of the photos I wanted on my iPhone to my primary drive's "My Pictures" directory solved this, but now I have unwanted duplicates on my system. Does anyone have a similar problem that they've solved in a more elegant way?

  • Photos are show in wrong order

    Hello,
I bought an iPod Touch 32 GB because I thought it's a good way to carry my pictures with me.
The problem is that within the folders/albums the pictures are displayed in the wrong order. It's not chronlogically, by name or something else I can identify.
    What have I done?
I'm using a XP laptop and my pictures are stored in several folders on a NAS. First I made sure that the pictures were sorted by "picture taken on". Then I selected the picture folder in iTunes and selected several subfolders to be transferred to the iPod. It took a while as we are talking of 15.000 pictures. Some of the folders have 10 or 20 pictures, some of the folders have 200 or even 400 pictures. It's important for me that they will be displayed in a chronological or by name. But I have the feeling that starting from a certain amount of pictures (like 30 or 40) it completely destroys the structure.
    What can I do?
I hope I was able to make my point as I'm writing you from Germany and my English is not the best.
Please help me to get this problem solved.

FOUND SOLUTION  from another unhappy guy (forgot his name) but he was very kind in posting the solution after he broke his brain trying with the Support team  (?)
in any case here is the solution:
1 - in PHOTOS   check sync
2 - DO NOT SELECT ANY Folders or files
3 - let the phone do the sync
4 - repeat the sync by selecting the folders you intend to sync
    It did worked for me....try
    good luck
PS - I wish that the board could be monitored by Apple experts so that they may add valid
solutions to problems rather then us going crazy looking for intelligent reply to questions!

  • Does Synching photos to iPhone 6.0.1 work on 9.4 iPhoto and 10.7 itunes?

In itunes, I can see all the Albums but it shows a zero count for photos when it is actually hundreds in iPhoto. Only the camera roll album and iStream (before I removed it) are now present. No albums are transferred eventhough I have checked them to synch.  Is anyone else having this problem or does anyone know of a fix.

Ok, working on  it myself I
    Tried This:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314
    iPhoto or Aperture
If you're syncing from an iPhoto or Aperture album, use these steps to find the iPod Photo Cache folder in the default iPhoto Library or Aperture Library location:
From the Finder, choose Home from the Go menu.
Once there, open the Pictures folder and locate the iPhoto Library file. (For Aperture, this is called Aperture Library.)  If you have moved your iPhoto Library or Aperture Library to a different location, go to that location in Finder first.
Control-click the iPhoto Library or Aperture Library file and choose Show Package Contents from the shortcut menu.
In the next window, locate the iPod Photo Cache folder and drag it to the Trash. Important: Do not remove or modify any other file within the library package. Removing or modifying other files may cause data loss.
    Close the Finder window.
I followed these instructions, and started iTunes again with the iPhone attached. I got the message
"Replace the synced photoes on the iPhone?  This iPhone contains phots synced with another photo library or folder. ..Photos will be replaced with photos and albums from this computer... I answered replace photos.
1 When I switch libraries, and left "ipod cache" as is, iTunes seemed to replace with the photos I selected and had correct count.
2  But when I erased ipod cache, and tried to select them again, got warning message and count of selected albums was zero. But it left the photos and albums that were loaded in step 1, eventhough I chose to replace them.
    3. Restarted and selected another album to add and it erased all the albums with out warning, and left the camera roll and iCloud stream and reported zero photos.
    4. I restarted iTunes, connected the iPhone again, it did not give the warning, and this time it loaded the albums I had selected in step 3  but still reported a zero count on  the iTunes Sync Photos from iPhoto page. The bar code at the bottom does change as another album is selected.
There's a minor problem here somewhere.

  • HT4236 HOW CAN YOU VIEW PHOTOS ON IPHONE IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER AS THEY APPEAR IN THE DESKTOP?

When photos are sync'd on my iphone, they appear in random order.  But on my computer desktop, they are identified in chronological (dated) order.  How can i get the photos to follow the same chornological order on the phone and ipad?

The camera roll is not part of the sync process at all.
You should be importing these photos to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.  Youc an organize them on your computer and sync the to the iphone if you wish.
The photos sync from the computer to the iphone is one way.
The iphone mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced.

  • Photos from my PC downloaded to "Photos" appear in the wrong order. Will using iPhoto cure this?

I have recently bought an iPad and was disappointed to find that when I downloaded files of images from my PC to my iPad, the order of the images stored in the 'Albums' on my iPad had been changed.    When using the iPad to show 'slide shows', it is important to me to see the images in the right order.   If I installed iPhotos would this make any difference?   Are there any other Photo Apps that I could use where this problem would be eliminated?   Furthermore, is there a Photo App where the storage of images is organised in multiple levels and not just the one used in "Photos".

I'd ask that on the iPad forum.

  • Synching photos with iPhone on PC manually: do you need Photoshop?

on page 8 of the iPhone manual it states you can sync photos on a PC "... with either Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 or later or Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 or later. Or you can sync with any folder on your computer that contains images."
    BUT
on page 73 there is no mention of that last option.
Any PC users out there able to manually sync without Photoshop? I only have Corel Photo Center
    8 GB   Windows XP

You can sync photos by selecting "folder" instead of adobe photoshop elements/album. Simply put the pictures you want to sync in a given folder, then you can browse to it.

  • Iphoto and iphone synching Photos in the wrong order

Just downloaded 4.2 and now my iphone shows my photos in ascending order even though it is set on iphoto to descending order. No matter what I do I cannot get the photos to show in descending order....Any ideas?

I've had this problem for a few weeks or so, so I tried getting to the bottom of this. Here's what a senior advisor told me: this is expected behavior. No matter how you order your photos in iPhoto, as of iOS 4.1 (or so) the photo app on the iPhone will only sort according to date, ascending.
I think this is kind of ridiculous, because it's not an expansion of a feature but instead the taking back of a feature. She made it clear that it is not a bug or problem with your device, but instead the brilliant idea the engineers at Cupertino came up with.
You can go to apple.com/feedback to request this feature back. Is it just me or is Apple starting to go in the way of Windows?

  • Photo orientation wrong when synched back to iPhone

    Hi,
I take photos on my iPhone, then I put them into a folder and I keep that folder synched to the iPhone. That folder contains other photos from my Nikon cameras too.
Mostly all the photos I take on the iPhone are in the portrait orientation (1200x1600).
Unfortunately the portrait iPhone photos show up rotated incorrectly when synched back to the iPhone. When I turn the iPhone, it rotates the photo but it is still wrong.
I tried putting these photos into iPhoto and synching to an album...they then show up with the right orientation. But, I don't use iPhoto, I use Bridge/Photoshop, so this isn't really a good work around.
Anyone have a simple way to fix this?
    Thanks!

There is definitely something wrong (and MikeIPS' explanation that "there is no bug or flaw here" doesn't hold water, there are flags for orientation and they are being mistranslated somewhere in the process)...
    1. With iPhone in vertical position I took a picture of a vertical letter size print and it appears vertical on iPhone when viewing.
    2. Imported this picture into iPhoto, it appears vertical. Quit iPhoto and opened in Preview it appears vertical.
    3. Deleted original from iPhone, dragged imported version from iPhoto folder into my "sync pictures" folder and exported back to iPhone, now it's rotated 90 on the iPhone.
    4. Since I never edited or saved photo in either iPhoto or Preview, then it seems likely that the orientation flag is being changed during sync either upon upload or download.
    5. Next in Preview I selected image in imported version and copied and pasted into new photo in Preview, uploaded newly created file to iPhone and it is still rotated.
    6. Throughout this process, when doing a "Get Info" in Preview, the Orientation flag(s) shows 6. If you "Save As" in Preview to PNG it completely strips orientation info and PNG file uploads with correct vertical orientation. If you "Save As" TIFF it changes the orientation flag to a 1 and it uploads with correct vertical orientation. I stopped at this point because I wasn't doing an exhaustive analysis and only wanted to fix orientation on this one photo.
I should note that the weird orientation has only happened a few times, which lends further credence to the theory that it is happening during transfer. I rarely move photos back and forth, so this isn't a huge issue to me. If I did use this feature extensively, I would use the Automator and create an action that took the batch and in Preview resaved them in a file format that was as nondestructive to the image as possible. Until Apple fixes this issue, at least with the information I have provided you, you have a way to resolve the issue without resorting to having to buy any third party apps.
p.s. If this ever happens to MikeIPS I would suggest he used the Automator as well, but since Vista doesn't have one, it wouldn't do him any good.

  • Latest iphone sofware update fails to synch photos in numerical order!

I've been informed that the reason why my photos on my 3g Iphone will no longer synch to it in numerical 'name' order is because the latest software update places them in 'date taken' order by default, consequently moving them out of my preferred option.
I've been told I will need to use a third party software in order to place my photos back in numerical order. Does anyone know of a way round this, and if not, can anyone recommend suitable, preferably free software to acheive this?
    Many thanks.

  • Error (-50) synching Aperture photos to iPhone

    Hi,
iTunes seems chronically unable to synch some of my Aperture photos to my iPhone. This is not universal, but it happens consistently if I include certain albums in the list to be synched.
Basically, the synch proceeds as normal, with the iTunes status saying "synching photo X of Y" with X counting up, but after a while, it stops, generates a popup and none of the photos appear to have synched. The popup error says "The iPhone MikesIPhone cannot be synched. An unknown error has occurred (-50)." A message is also written to a console that says:
    6/28/11 11:26:27.403 AM com.apple.usbmuxd: MuxSendToClient send failed for 0xf-3315a3c0884bb37651fb55ab4a70721a40ac329d@0xfa250000:65438->0x1003296f0-iTun es/com.apple.iTunes:5644: 32 - Broken pipe
Any ideas how to fix this? I've tried "Generating Previews" in Aperture for all of the photos in the offending album, but this does not help. (Note that the photos sync fine with an old-style Apple TV.) I feel like the iPhone-downscaled cache of the image must be corrupted somehow, but I don't know how to force it to be rebuilt without deleting/reimporting the photos (and thereby losing all of my edits and metadata, etc.)
    Thanks,
    Mike

I'm having the same issue. It appears to be a problem in Aperture because the iPhone will sync normally if I select iPhoto in the Sync Photos from menu in iTunes (or if I stop syncing photos altogether).
I read on another thread about deleting the iPod Photo cache, so I did that, but it didn't have any effect on this problem.
This issue only recently started on my machine, and I can't recall doing or changing anything that might have induced the problem.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Phil

  • Aperture isn't syncing to iPhone in chronological order

I just moved from iPhoto 09 to Aperture, and when I synced my iPhone with Aperture for the first time, Aperture isn't syncing to iPhone in chronological order like it did in iPhoto. All my images, albums, etc. are sorted by image date in Aperture, but there doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason as to how iTunes/Aperture sync to my iPhone 3G. I'd like to be able to scroll down to my newest photos on the iPhone like I did when I synced with iPhoto 09. Anything I need to do differently? Thanks.

This has been discussed on the iPhone forum. The best way to "fix it" is change the album sort in aperture to custom (drop down menu). This seems to fix it.

  • Apple iPhone tech support says, "Synching photos not supported."

I just got off a marathon (>1 hour) call with tech support on several issues regarding photos not synching and synched photos being corrupted on the iPhone (see here and here). At various times during the call (with several levels of tech support) I was told that:
    1. Photos must be modified using Adobe Albums for them to synch properly.
    2. Photos that don't synch properly must not have been created correctly.
    3. There must be something wrong with the camera that created the photos.
    4. The resolution for the photos must be incorrect.
    5. The Windows operating system must have something to do with it.
There were some others thrown in there, but those are the ones I remember off the top of my head. It was a rather frustrating call, perhaps made moreso by the fact that this was my first interaction with Apple tech support and I had high hopes of something other than the lackluster tech support I receive from most other tech companies out there.
In any case, the outcome of the call was that I was unable to open a trouble ticket. I tried insisting that this was either an iTunes defect or an iPhone one, but Apple disagreed saying--and this is a quote--"Apple makes no guarantee that you will be able to view your photos on your iPhone."
    Meh. :-/

Very nice, PTBoater! That did indeed seem to work for both the problem of photos not synching and the problem of synched photos being corrupted. I wonder why I haven't seen this suggested before? In any case, if you'd like to head over to http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1034293&tstart=0 and http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1017827&tstart=0 with the answer I will mark you as the answerer so you can get the answer points.
    Thanks again! Excellent.

  • Synch photos iPhone

My photos on iPhone are not synching with iPad

Only photos that are taken after you enable Photo Stream on both devices will be sent to each respective device. In other words, photos that were already on one of the devices will not sync to the photos stream after you enable it in the settings, but any photos that you take moving forward will sync.
Having said that, check the settings on both devices and be sure Photo Stream is turned on. Settings>iCloud>Photo Stream>On or Settings>Photos and Camera>My Photo Stream>On.
You must be signed into the same Apple ID on all devices in order for the photos to sync as well. Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID.
