Aperture and Flickr Export Problems - Missing Files

I have a MacPro, Aperture 3, and Flickr Pro account. I was planning on using Flickr as an online storage/back-up option for lower-res files. However, whenever I try to upload a project to Flickr files always seem to drop off.
For example, if I export a project with 446 files in it, when it gets to Flickr it'll say I only have 403 images. Likewise if I try a smaller project (e.g., 426 -> 404).
Has this happened to anyone else? Any ideas what is the cause of this problem?
Also, any way to remove that 500 upload limit per project to Flickr? Flickr itself does not limit the number of photos you can store in a set.
Thanks!

Maybe it's related to this bug?

    Hi again Raja!
I did as you recommended and installed HTTPWatch and below is the outcome of that program. It is the exact string with the only exception of obfuscated servernames and portnumbers. The last part that begins with "sap_ep_baseurl=" makes me suspicious, is that part really correct? It looks like it's lacking things.

Yes, but that would not cause the "build  failed" message.
right I missed that part. Looks like two problems then.

  • How should we be going about creating and saving and/ or exporting our ODC files using Excel 2013 for use in Project Server 2013 Online?

Hi I need your guidance on how I should go about setting up my Excel 2013 reports so that others in our Project Online 2013 environment can access and updates these reports of mine.
    My questions are as follows:
I presume I need to create and save my ODC files in a PWA > Data Connections folder.  I have English and French users in our environment.  Do I need save them twice?  Once in the French and again in the English Data Connections folder?
     Likewise for the Excel file?
How should I go about creating my ODC files within Excel?  By default, the ODC files are being created on my PC's > My Documents > My Data Sources folder.  I presume I need to get them saved or exported to the PWA > Data Connections
folder. So, How should I be going about creating and saving and/ or exporting the ODC files???
FYI...My oData Feeds that I wish to use and join in this particular Excel file are as follows:

Thank you Guilaume.  May I ask you to help clarify a bit more for me?  If I have to do it for both languages (the reports and ODC files), do I simply copy the same ODC files from e.g., the English to French folder in PWA (Odc files)?  Or does
that defeat the purpose?  Or, do I need to create a new set of oData Feed Connection files with a French version of Excel 2013 and save them to the French Data Connections folder in PWA?  Do I need to have a French version of Excel 2013 to create
French ODC files and ultimately French based reports and/ or vice versa?
I did notice that the following oData metadata command from within a browser produces different results (ie., English versus French metadata returned) depending on who runs it (i.e., French or English user, etc).  As you can see I am a bit confused.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

  • ID file and PDF export problem

    hi,
    hope someone can help me...
i created a file in ID. you can see the specs here:
    http://cpso2.gallaudet.edu/cpso/brian/mw-bleed.jpg
in the above image, you can see the bleed margin, and i made sure everything goes fully into the bleed.
so then i sent the export (PDF) to the printer. see it here:
    http://cpso2.gallaudet.edu/cpso/brian/youth_savedate_final.pdf
so here i am excited thinking i did this right. then the prrpress department comes back and tells me the following:
"" I checked with my prepress dept. and they are telling me that the Document Setup that you are in will allow you to set your bleeds BUT will not hold the bleeds. You need to export and that will give you options to set bleeds. (This is a bit greek to me so if you have a problem, let me know and I will get her to converse directly with you).""
I thought I did this right. Can someone tell me what I did wrong in export and how to remedy the problem?
thanks - mike, the deaf guy.

    That's better.
It makes sense, really; you might want to send a pdf of the file to
the printers, who needs the bleed, and another of the same file to a
colleague, who wouldn't thank you for all that extra stuff round the
edges if he doesn't realize he can hide it in his reader. You
wouldn't want the bleed and slug bits to show if you posted an
'optimized for web' pdf on the web or emailed it to someone
interested in your courses. You can thus create different pdfs for
different purposes from the same .indd file.

  • Aperture 3 and Flickr sync problems

    Hi!
I started using Aperture 3 recently and made the mistake of authorizing Aperture to sync with Flickr.  I hate it!  Now I want to deauthorize it somehow but don't know where or how?  I've read horror stories that all of my Flickr photos will be deleted from Flickr if I deauthorize, but none of my Flickr photos were uploaded from Aperture, they were already in Flickr and were automatically synced to Aperture once I authorized it.  Now that I realize I've made a mistake I want to get out, but how?
    TIA!
    Debbie

I have been using the sync feature between my Aperture library and Facebook and Flickr for 6 months and I finally gave up on it yesterday.
As an example of what I usually go through, I uploaded 159 photos to my flickr account this past weekend, then added some captions/descriptions/tags etc. on flickr (was that a mistake?). Then Aperture promptly undid some my work at the next synchonization... I don't want photos on my stream named DSC_6788.jpg, etc.  Thing is, Aperture undoes some of what I do on Flickr but not all.  There's no rhyme, reason, or pattern to it.  If I use Aperture to add tags (by entering keywords in the right field), even those partially disappear after the next sync.
Another maddening thing is that it makes the filename the caption on Facebook albums.  I/e/. if, on Facebook, I added a desctiptive caption on a picture such as "Mommy and Daddy making out under the Eiffel Tower" (totally a made up example), then next time a synch happens, the caption would be "DSC_8646.jpg."  Gee, thanks for the help, Aperture.
For 6 months I have lived in fear of opening up Aperture.  Will the sync mess up what I've published online?
There should be option to not have Aperture override what you do on flickr (and Facebook).  I am a strong believer in the "Publish and Forget" model for places like Flickr and Facebook, not the sync model.
For now, it's back to export to a folder and upload via the uploader.

  • Facebook & Flickr Export Problems

One of the new features of Aperture 3 I was excited about was the Facebook & Flickr integration. I had previously been using a free Flickr plug-in and exporting my Aperture images to iPhoto to make use of the Facebook integration.
After preparing a project with 26 adjusted/edited "keeper" images, I tried the Flickr upload button. It worked away and after a few minutes said that the process had completed. When I checked Flickr, only a portion (18 out of 26) of the images were displayed. I then clicked the "Publish" icon beside the album in Aperture, and instead of trying to re-add the missing photos to Flickr, it synced the album to Flickr and gave the Flickr images preference, thereby deleting the images that were not loaded on the initial upload. I have tried this several times and get various behaviours including a case where I got duplicate images in the Flickr set.
I tried the same thing with Facebook and had very similar problems. It does not load all of the selected images onto Facebook and a second sync then deletes the non-uploaded ones from Aperture. On another try, it loaded most (23 out of 26) of the images to Facebook, but instead of showing the images, just had empty "image not found" symbols.
Is anyone else having problems with Facebook and Flickr integration in Aperture 3?

    I'll second the "stacks" issue...
I had the same issue as the OP, but once I removed stacks from the event that I was uploading from, all of my images made it into Facebook.....
HOWEVER.....a new issue turned up....for whatever reason, now my people/face tags don't make it into Facebook, even though it worked before removing the stacks. To make matters worse, if I manually tag the images in Facebook and re-synchronize A3, the people/face tags are removed on the Facebook size....I can't f-ing win.
So it looks like I have to select from the lesser of two evils:
    1. If I want to preserve face-tagging, I have to be prepared for A3 to omit certain images
    2. If I want all of my images to be exported to Facebook, I have to live with no face/people tags
    ....fanfuckingtastic.

  • Where did my bullets go in Keynote? And why am I missing files?

I've been working on a Keynote presentation that will be exported as a PDF eBook. I opened it up today and I get error messages saying that I have missing files and my square "checkmark-less" bullets have disappeared. (See image below)
I'm using the Black Checkmark Bullets. The checkmark bullets are ok. Its checkmarkless cousin isn't listed in the inspector window when I try to update it manually. I'm also getting a lot of error messages.
This is the first time I've expereinced this problem. Running 10.7.3 on a MBPro (2.66 i7 w/4GB RAM), Keynote 5.1.1).
Ideas to correct this issue? Thanks in advance!

    SOLVED -
Used AppCleaner to unstaill Keynote, Pages and Numbers. Reinstalled iWork from disk and ran updates. Issue resolved itself after this.

  • "Canon SLR EOS 40D"  *Aperture and Canon's CR2 RAW files not supported.*

    Hi,
I just started playing with Aperture, and with my brand new *Canon SLR EOS 40D* camera. One problem, Aperture is not recognizing the RAW file format. I am using RAW Fine**-L. Even with that it doesn't even see the JPG shots in Aperture. Went to the Canon site and it shows CR2 format. IPhoto 08 sees the JPG files just fine, It also sees the RAW files just doesn't know what to do with them. I know that RAW files are not supported on IPhoto 08. The camera is only been out a few months, but still lost on why Aperture doesn't support the format. Maybe I am missing something. Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks in advance....

For some reason or another Adobe Photo Shop 7 is no longer supported in Leopard. When you lunch Photo shop 7 in Leopard. You get "An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because of a Program error. Photo Shop will now exit." even if you reinstall the program, still you get the same error. Photo Shop 7 is Not the latest and greatest, but in most cases, that is all you need. Not sure if they plan on a fix, so for now I put that program on a shelve.
    Hope that helps

  • Aperture and Snow Leopard problems

I have multiple issues with Aperture after upgrading to SL (currently on 10.6.2). The major issues are:
    (1) Whenever I import new images or make modification to existing images Aperture does not quit anymore. Command quit doesn't do anything and I have to force quit in order to exit program.
    (2) After importing new files, often not all images are shown in the project or album (although all images have been imported and the tooltip shows the correct number of images in the project/album). Furthermore, keywords searches do not work. A force quit and reopening solves this problem.
    (2) When saving or opening images the dialog box does not work properly and some folders are overlayed with black/grey boxes and things look corrupted.
Obviously, I have installed 2.1.4 and I do not have Aperture in any subfolder (it is directly in the app folder). Furthermore, I have deleted the preferences file (com.apple.Aperture.plist) but this did not help.
What to do next? Re-install Aperture? If I have to do this what docs do I have to delete and how can I avoid loosing any important information? I have a very large image library with many adjustments, keywords, rankings etc and I definitely do not want to loose any of that information. Thanks much for your help and advise.

I decided to backup up everything. I then erased the HD and reinstalled Leopard Disk 1 and 2. Did all the system updates and added all the optional software on the disks. Then installed Snow Leopard. Then installed Aperture and all updates including 2.1.4 and my printer drivers. Then followed with all my other apps like MS Office and Quicken.
    Took about 2 hours.
Everything works perfectly and is quite snappy including Aperture. No problems with any of the Aperture functions.
It's a lot of work but its easy to do if you have other things to do while the software is installing.
If you are up to all that and dont mind the time, you'll be happy plus you now have a clean, fresh disk.

  • Guidance on Aperture and Flickr Integration

Can anyone point me to anything that advises on the correct way to use the synchronisation feature. I just can't get this to work consistently; my Flickr folder in Aperture does not match the set in Flickr.
As seen on Flickr, I routinely get duplication whilst other photos go missing. I only get duplication in the Aperture album.
I'm on the verge of giving up on it, which isn't a big deal, but this kind of flakiness does make me doubt the solidity of the application in general. I'd much rather think that I've just misunderstood something.

i had a set in Flickr that is where i place 1 photo a day for all 365 days this year. i have been using my iPhone 4 to upload photos to Flickr, but i had synced this set to Aperture. today i used my regular camera and edited the photo in Aperture and dragged it to the Flickr set (in Aperture). when i went to Flickr, the new photo was there, but 3 previous photos were now listed as being newer than the photo i just added. my 3 previous photos that had 10 - 20 views had been removed and replaced with the same photo without the tags, without the titles, without the views, and without correct date for when the photos were taken. i had to spend a lot of time in Flickr trying to correct things and guessing the dates taken. not fun. and i really don't like losing the view count as i take great pride in that.
i was pretty excited to upgrade to Aperture, but version 3.0 is disappointing if it's going to screw up my hard work.

  • Flickr export problem with iphoto 6

Hi, I been trying to uninstall flickr export but I can’t seem to do it. The program keeps locking up my macbook and crashing it. Because of this it is currently handicapped my iphoto 6 because I can’t export jpegs. When I go file export it loads automatically crashes it.

    Hi Scott
It's tricky to find the plugin... try the following:
Go to iPhoto in your Applications folder (or whereever you have it) and click on it once.
Control (or Right) Click to get the contextual menu
    Select 'Show Package Contents'
This opens a new window with a Folder called 'contents'
Click on this and find the folder called Plugins, open it and inside...
Search for the FlickrExport one and trash it.
Close the window and launch iPhoto
    hope this helps
    Regards

  • Aperture and Flickr sync

I sync nearly every project in Aperture with Flickr. Now I would like to check which photos I have synced and which not, but I can not find the richt selection in Aperture. Can anybody help me?

Having exactly the same problem. My guess is that Aperture sync is broken. The Flickr App behaves exactly the same and can't sort out the right date stamp. In my experience Aperture only sometimes messes up the tags and names, but always the time stamp, even after several resyncs.

  • Aperture 3 Flickr export versions

Hi, I have problem with flickr export in Aperture 3.0.2 when I'm trying to share album, or just one photo.
Firstly, when I'm trying to share some photos, just some of them are really published. For example 2 of 4.
Secondly, when I have more than 1 version of photo, it's always published other version (almost every time the second version).
Can this be fixed? Or I must wait to update?
    PS.: sorry for my english

I think you will find that if pictures are part of a stack it will only upload the pick to iFlickr.
I use Flickrexport plugin to upload as it has more options. I get no problems but if I want to upload photos which are not the Pic of a stack then I unstack them.

  • Aperture and D90 - no full res files

I downloaded yesterday's update to support the D90 file format and Aperture now displays the Nefs in the main window except it thinks all my full res images are only 256*172 pixels ... ViewNX sees them correctly at 4288x2848. I am shooting NEF+basic.
Anyone has seen the same problem ?

    Hi,
Aperture doesn’t automatically apply the Raw update to the D90 NEFs already inside the Aperture library. Newly imported NEFs from the D90 should be displayed correctly at the right resolution.
To get Aperture to use the new Raw converter select all the D90 NEFs and then choose the menu File > Migrate Images.
(See page 145 in the Aperture 2 manual for a better description of what to do).
