Aperture and iTunes keyboard keys overlap

Hi!
This could be very basic but I have tried to look everywhere and I can not find a solution. I got apple keyboard where itunes controls are integrated. F7 is previous song, f8 play/pause and f9 is next song. it all works nice with itunes and I love it. But as I go into Aperture, it takes control over from iTunes which I hate. If I want to pause song, slideshow in aperture begins, If I want to skip to next song, aperture jumps to next photo.
I have looked into Apertures Command configuration and it clearly shows there that these keys are reserved for system commands, but still they work and override itunes.
How to take those keys away from aperture?

There really is no solution. The keys are there for any program to make use of, they aren't specifically reserved for iTunes. iPhoto also uses those keys for its slideshows and I image any program where rewind, play and fast forward make sense to it would use them also.

Well, yes, you can copy them over. It's probably easier to use Migration Assistant though, as a lot depends on how the machines are connected, etc.

Does anyone use Aperture with iTunes (copying photos from Aperture to an iPod)?
I have just got a new 5th gen iPod, and have set-up a smart folder in Aperture (I use an iPod keyword for shots I wish to export to iPod).
When I go into iTunes I can select Aperture, and indeed the smart folder, however, the number of photos shown in iTunes rarely matches the actual amount of shots with the Keyword in Aperture.
Also, when both apps. are open, if I add the Keyword to a new photo in Aperture, the number of photos in iTunes does not seem to be effected - Does iTunes only check this once?
I hope someone can help....

I've had the same problem. What I've found out is that smart albums don't update until you click on the album. So itunes will only update what was in the album the last time you viewed that album in Aperture. I've also found that itunes needs to be open after you have updated the smart album in Aperture. I wish it would update in the background but form what I can tell it doesn't.

I'm using Aperture 3.2.4 and iTunes 11.0.2 on OS 10.6.8.
For a few days iTunes and Aperture run very slowly, and sometimes make my Mac mini 3.1 crash.
I have been looking to the activity monitor, but didn't see any problem there.
Do you have an idea ?

Hi! i recently got a macbook pro 15" retina display, and i tried to play assassin's creed 2 and other games on it, but the thing is, the keyboard keys will not respond except the trackpad, and the keyboard keys work fine outside of gaming.

Outside of gaming though, the keyboard works with no problem. Please help me!

Sync Aperture and iTunes from second computer?

Hi All.
i've been reading up on articles related to this and I'm still a little confused.
I am thinking that I'd like to sync my iPhone to my MacBookPro (right now I think? it is synced to the MacPro) so that I can travel with it and backup once in awhile or if I am at the coffee shop.
I have my Aperture database on my MacPro (much bigger hard drive) and I have my iTunes database on my MacPro (again much bigger hard drive).
Is there a way to sync just the music to my MacPro and just the images to the MacPro but have the iPhone synced to my laptop? For instance I only need to sync music once in awhile and ideally I would upload my photos to the MacPro when I get back from a trip or whatever.

If you synced your iPad with one computer connecting it and syncing with a second computer will erase its contents.

Aperture and Itunes on extradisk in netwrok ?

I have the following cobfiguration:
Straigthforward ADSL modem
Connected to the newest 3TB Timecapsule
Elsewhere in the house the newest generation Airport Extreme as range extender.
Our 5 notebooks in the house plus a desktop Mac all backup to the Timecapsule that is pretty full with that.
I would like to migrate our Iphoto/Aperture library from the desktop to an external harddisk thst I then would connect by USB to the Airport extreme range extender.
I have a number of WD external disks for this.
Would this work well ?
Other suggestions ?

It will be terrible.
The iphoto library should never be used on a network drive.
USB is slow ... slow to respond.. slow to spin up and USB on extreme is half the speed of the same disk plugged into your computer.
Plug the external drive into your computer.. Or use a different computer for your photo work. iTunes sharing over home network can include the iphoto library. Simply work on photos locally .. when your finished then you can store them on the library in the main computer on the network.

No joke the iphoto suffers from easily breaking a live file during operation.. thus corrupting the file, thus corrupting the entire library.

Link between Aperture and iTunes doesn't work

i have the problem that i can not load photos through iTunes on my iPhone or iPad because iTunes can not find my Aperture Library.
In Aperture itself i have the setting enabled, that other program can use thumbnails.
Some Tipps for me?

iTunes complains = Aperture Library cannot be found (same error as before)
My library is contained on an external HFS+ formatted USB drive. I know other programs can see the library because my screeensaver shows photos from it.
As for your soultion, that didn't fix it unfortunately
But I did end up figuring out a solution: I don't know why iTunes was so fixated on the original library aperture created on my OS drive in the "Photos" directory (which is now a very limited space SSD). Even if I created a new library located on my OS drive, it "wouldn't find it" when I switched to it. So for the solution, I moved (not copied, but moved) the original library to the exact same location as the one on the USB HDD. Changed the library to the "original one" located now on my USB hdd. Merged in the one that had all my photos. iTunes now can see my library located on my HFS+ formatted USB hard drive. *WHEW* I hope that helps someone else out.

when scanning a barcode and convert Keyboard.key (as ushort with value 16, it represents char ':') by using

both way convert into symbol '+'.
How to convert into ':'?

It is normal '+'. It is special '+' symbol.
We search a little bit and find out Unicode ':' is 3A and value is not 16.
So during the process barcode scanner, the value has been changed in some way.
We are trying to find out where the value has been changed.

Windows 7, Microsoft Keyboard Media Keys (Play/Pause), and iTunes

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and iTunes 9.0.1.8 with Microsoft Intellipoint 7.0 and a Microsoft Keyboard with media keys.
In previous versions of Windows, iTunes, and Intellipoint, pressing the "play/pause" key on the keyboard would play or pause iTunes -- even when iTunes wasn't the active application.
In my current setup, when iTunes is minimized, then the media keys don't control iTunes.
Is this a bug? Is there something I can do to fix the situation?
I've asked Microsoft for help, and they say it looks to be a compatibility issue with iTunes. So, now I'm asking Apple. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I have this same problem, but with Windows XP Pro. It MUST be a iTunes and a Microsoft IntelliType driver issue.
I JUST reinstalled my computer and loaded all new everything and the buttons worked off and on (depending on focus). I don't remember doing anything to make it work last time. The only thing I remember was installing a plug-in so my ATI Remote Wonder worked with iTunes.
I downloaded Chris's dll as suggested. Worked flawlessly. I hope Apple and/or Microsoft fix this in the next release of their software.

ITunes 10.5 and Microsoft keyboard media keys with IntelliType Installed

Hi. I just updated to iTunes 10.5 and the media keys (play/pause, back, and forward buttons -- the latter two of which have been mapped to previous and next track respectively) on my Microsoft Ergonomic 4000 keyboard no longer work when iTunes in minimized. It works fine if iTunes is the active window. I tried installing the latest version of IntelliType (v8.2) and the installation notified me that I already have the latest version. I had no problems with the older version of iTunes (10.4).
Is anyone else having this problem? Any solutions? Thanks in advance!

I managed a different FIX. This is just for Microsoft Multimedia keyboard (I have Microsoft 8000)
I uninstalled Microsoft Intellitype 8.1 that I had and then installed the newer 8.2 Version.
Before I did that I Downgraded to Itunes 10.3 64x like someone else said, but it did not help.
If this fix don't work with Itunes 10.5 then Downgrade like I did, It easier..No copying of files needed.
After you uninstall Itunes 10.5 and Install 10.3, it give you an error for your library.
So you press "SHIFT" and then open ITUNES.
then you go to "My Music\iTunes" folder inside your genereal music folder, it should be there. (WIN 7)
then to "Previous iTunes Libraries" folder and you should have a backup or and some kind of old "itunes Library folder" files...you choose one of them and Itunes opens fine with all playlist and everything.
Now everything workd find.

I after all this this does not work, might be because I installed Itune 10.3 before the new Intellitype 8.2.
So try Uninstalling Intellitype 8.2 again.
Then reinstall it...maybe it does things when Installing...I don't know.

IPhone not showing in iTunes on Mac Pro, and BLOWS keyboard on two Macs!

I have an extremely annoying issue since I upgraded my original iPhone to 2.0 and 2.1:
- I've got an iPhone (8GB, first gen) with 2.1 firmware
- Mac Pro early 2008
- Aluminium Keyboard (standard)
- iTunes 8
Whenever I attach my iPhone, the keyboard goes dead. Totally. Only way to re-animate it is by unplugging the iPhone and wait 5 seconds, then re-plug the keyboard. This is on a newly created Admin account on the Mac Pro and the iPhone that has been through a total factory reset back to 2.1 today...
And a newly re-installed iTunes 8 on (all computers).
Note my iPhone is no longer recognized in iPhoto or Aperture or iTunes on the Mac Pro either.
However, the iPhone works fine on a Mac Book Pro (newest model).
It does show up and sync on an iMac Intel 2.0 GHy, but kicks the Aluminum keyboard on that machine as well...
What is going on??
I will have to double-post this in iTunes and iPhone section, apologies in advance, but this is just too ridiculous... someone must have an answer to this. At least an explanation. I have been through every single USB port on my Mac Pro.
Apple "Genius" in Apple Store Regent Street recommended an archive & install of Leopard 10.5.x. Yeah right. I am working on this machine, I have not got time for that silly idea...
The thing is, this all worked fine before the 2.0/2.1 update... but why is the bl oo dy thing working on a new MacBook Pro and not on my Mac Pro?

Alrighty, here we go - today I FINALLY made successful progress WITHOUT having to re-install my entire system...
I figured it was very weird that my iPod Mini would work fine on my Mac Pro USB ports, as all other small devices did too, but that the iPhone (first gen) would simply not trigger any reaction whatsoever.
The iPhone could be ruled out from being the funny one as it was instantly recognized on Macs in the Apple Shop. As I really did not feel I had time to archive & install and whatnot on my work machine, and the fact that I always thought my Mac Pro should have a few more (USB) ports, I researched suitable internal USB expansion boards.
After reading up about it, I decided to get this one: *Sonnet Allegro Express USB* - this card installs in seconds - you simply sht down your Mac Pro, pull the mains plug, take off the side door, unscrew the two thumbscrews holding the blind plates towards the back, take out one of the blinds, push the card in carefully but all the way in, re-attach the blind-holding plate and fire up your machine.
I plugged my regular iPhone dock into the back, pushed in my iPhone, and was instantly greeted by the short humming of the iPhone! Starting iTunes, the iPhone popped up in the side bar again - my precious iPhone is back alive and happy to sync contents!
Very happy to finally have found a solution.
If anyone tries this, I really hope it works as good for you as it did for me - if it doesn't, then for about $50 you've at least got those extra four USB ports on the back of your Mac Pro you always wanted

All my financial apps require a "enter" key and a "." decibel key. The new keyboards for IOs8 only have a "delete" key and a blank key with no use.

What little there is in this topic: 9.0 iTunes played Football Podcast frame by frame both forward and backwards for detailed viewing. When they upgraded to 10.0 the keyboard freatured was changed and not replaced. the arrow keys now move you to the next video or the previous video. Command (open Appple) moves you ..like 3 to 4 frames ahead. This is stupid and I have to play my podcast videos in Realplayer to use their arrow keys. This is just one more level for playerts to scrfew up on when viewing themselves. THE Can someone actually ask Apple to put it back as a key board feature. It can not even be scripted, but I'm game to hear your advice.

If you have records that show that you've taken your MacBook Pro in for a year to fix the machine, I would escalate the problem to Apple Customer Relations - unfortunately I don't have a number for Spain.
It would only seem logical to me that if you've been trying to have the machine repaired during the time that the 'recall' was in effect that you should be eligible for a new logic board. But only customer relations will be able to make that call.
Good luck - take the issue as high up the food chain as you can and see what happens.
