Aperture and Sony DSC-T100 videos

Hi, I just installed Aperture 3 and imported my iPhoto library but I can't open any video I took with my Sony DSC-T100 camera. The error is "unsupported video format". Do someone know how to fix this problem?

Have you tried different levels of compression with Adobe DNG converter?
The footnote on the Raw Support page  http://www.apple.com/aperture/specs/raw.html says:
Aperture works with most DNG files generated from cameras that support this format and with DNG files generated by the Adobe DNG Converter with the “Convert to Linear Image” option turned off.
If DNG converter does not work, use the software that a came with your camera. The manufacturer's software will give you the best possible raw development any, since they do know the camera best.
It is hard to predict, when the RAW support for this camera will released, you could try to shoot RAW&JPEG while you are waiting and import the files with the JPEG as original. This can be changed to RAW as original, when the RAW support is available.

    Hi,
Just got a new sony RX-100M3 and have found that the RAW files are not supported by Aperture 3.5.1.
Anyone else having this issue, and are there any work-arounds? (DNG converter does not seem to work)

  • Tutorial for SONY DSC-T100 camera?

    Hi,
I use a Power  Mac G4; run MacOS OX Tiger 10.4.11.  I need help in downloading pictures from my SONY DSC-T100 digital camera to my Mac.  The instructions on the SONY Manual are mostly for Windows users, and are very vague for the Mac users.  I need a step-by-step procedure to download pictures from my SONY camera to my Mac.
    Sincerely,
    Angel

I'm sorry, but there is no 10.7.5 - do you mean 10.4.x or 10.5.x or 10.6.x?
I asked because 10.6. (which you have now) no longer supports the classic environment, but previous OS's did. So, if the store "upgraded" you to the latest OS when you had it in for repair, then that would be the reason. So, if you can't remember which OS version was on it, I would call or go to the store and ask if they changed the OS version. Now, I'm not sure what a Sony Driver Disc is - do you mean it's the software that came with your camera? Depending on the format of your camera cards, you should be able to use a USB card reader instead which might be easier to deal with.

  • Sony DSC-W1: Video imports w/o audio

My Sony DSC-W1 Digital Camera, which takes some pretty decent video, does not import the audio into iMovie. The video gets imported just fine, but the audio is not there.
The only way I could get around it was using Audio Hijack Pro to capture the audio for the video separately, and then importing that.
Does anyone have the same problem or know of a way to fix this?

    Hi tannyra:
I think you hve found about the best way already...

  • Sony DSC-TX5 Videos with High Speed (Chipmunk) Sound

I just imported some videos shot using Sony DSC-TX5 (1280x720 "Fine" MP4). All imported files have their audio sped up, and consequently everything sounds like a chipmunk. Unfortunately, I deleted the movies within camera before checking the imported files in iMovie. But, new movies shot and played within the camera all seems to have intact audio when played within the camera.
I've also imported HD videos shot using Sony a55 and its audio remain intact.
Is there a fix for this?

I had exactly this problem, importing the video both from within camera, and taking the sd card out and putting it in a reader. I quit Imovie, reopened it. Then I reimported the video. SAME PROBLEM - no change. Then I restarted the computer, opened Imovie, reimported the video - now for the fourth time. AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE!! The audio was perfect.
So what caused this in the first place, and what happened in the reboot that fixed it? Beats me. One moral of the story is no matter how good Mac OS gets, rebooting the computer is always a good thing to try. Another moral of course is, don't delete any files until you know your imports are good and you have them backed up.

Can anyone help me how to make this sync from camera to ipod automatically both photo and video ?

  • Camera Connector and Sony DSC-P200

Are the iPod Camera Connector and the Sony DSC-P200 compatible with eachother?
    Moritz

ptp is to go to a printer. i have 3 transfer modes on my minolta and 2 on my sony, they both only work when they are in normal mode.
one quick note. i had a problem when i was transfering pics on one occasion, it just stopped mid-way and then would no longer recognise the camera. i turned both off then back on, nothing. i did the select+menu reset and everything was back to normal.
i am quickly finding that the camera connector is a finnicky piece now that i am looking to find a card reader that it will recognize. i doesn't recognise much. good luck

  • Apple TV and Sony Bravia, Slight video distortion when streaming local video

I have a 3rd Generation Apple TV and a Sony Bravia TV
When I am strwaming movies from iTunes, it appears it is skipping frames every few seconds. I have it hooked up through a Sony ES receiever, and i have by passed it to go directly to the TV. Below is all the troubleshooting i have done:
    - Changed the HDMI cable
    - Plugged it in directly to the TV
    - I have tried 2 Different TV's in the house (Video Streaming is fine on both TVs)
    - Tested the video on 2 macs and window media center, videos play fine
    - Moved the Airport Extreame and internet connection next to the unit
    - streamed from Both my macs and the WMC PC.
    - tried connecting either net to Airport extreame with the Mac
    - Streamed a movie trailer and it looked fine.
    - Changed the resolution of the apple tv from 1080P to 720P
    - Played movies from the PS3 and DVD play, no problems with the picture on the TV
    - Power cycled EVERYTHING!
I have over 400 movies on my media server, and none of them acted like this on my 1st generation Apple TV i just sold.
The weird part is that it only happens to the movies i am streaming on this specific TV. I know the TV is good, the moveis are fine. And the connection between the device and the system hosting the movies is fine..
Anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

    Make sure its compatible

  • Sony DSC-RX100 Video and Images supported?

    Hey all,
I was wondering about if anyone has a DSC-RX100 that they have successfully used with iPhoto.  Successful = imported video & images by connecting their camera to iphoto and clicking import.
I had a dsc-hv9v sony camera which was great until its demise. The issue was the images came over fine but the videos did not.  (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5251)  Sony uses a MTS (AVCHD) format.  Which seems to have issues importing to iphoto.
    thanks

  • LR4 and Sony NEX-7 video files?

I just installed LR4 and imported files from my Sony NEX-7, including raw files and video (.mts) files.   The thumbnail of the file has a little video camera icon in the bottom left, but no time lenth of video as I exprected.  And when I try to open a video file, the starting frame appears but there is no control bar under the video to allow me to "play" it and using the Spacebar doesn't start it either.  What am I missing in this process?

I had a similar issue with a Sony RX100.  It was not supported by ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) until version 7.2.  Version 7.2 includes the NEX 7 too.  It may have been included in earlier versions, but I'm not sure.
ACR is the free Adobe plug in that has all the camera and lens correstions and adjustments.  The camera makers create there RAW formats and Adobe then, one at a time, turns that into conversion data in ACR.  At least I think that's how it works!
PSE 10 will only go to ACR 6.7.  It won't upgrade ACR past 6.7.  You have to buy PSE 11 to get functionality with ACR 7.2
The way it works it that you have PSE search for updates under the Help menu.  When PSE 10 was new, it allowed me to update the ACR to 6.7.  In fact it insisted I do it.  The same was true with PSE 11.  It alerted me that an upgrade was available.
A similar situation exists with Lightroom.  My Sony camera would not work with LR 4.  It had to upgrade itself to 4.2
If you don't want to deal with the Adobe details, Sony provides "Image Data Converter" that can make files from the Sony RAW images that PSE10 can work with.
    Good luck!

  • HP Chromebook 14 and sony cyber shot video uploads and SDHC proper ejection.

I have HP 14 Chromebook and just purchased a Sony Cyber shot. Problem is I can upload a photo and see them in files but I can't seem to undertand how to find or view my MP4 test video's. What does a video file appear like.  what type of file extension does an mp4 have? Do I need a google App ? I have enough cloud space to do so. Finally does this allow me to eject SDHC card without manually pushing it in and popping it out ?

  • Camera raw cs4 and sony dsc-rx100

how do i make cs4 camera raw to work with sony's dsc-rx100?

Support for the RX-1 was added in Camera Raw 7.3. But I don't know if your camera was added before that or not. At any rate it wasn't supported in any version for Photoshop CS4. IF support has been added, you will have to use the DNG converter to create digital negative copies of your raw images. Those will open with what you have now. It might be that support for your camera will be added in an upcoming update. If that is the case then you will have to wait until the DNG converter update is released. But I can tell you that your native raw files will never be usable with ACR for Photoshop CS4.

  • IMovie'11 and SONY HDRCX350VE import video

iMovie'11 doesn't see my videos stored on internal memory. Files are in MTS format and although this camcorder is compatible with iMovie it doesn't work.
Conversion of MTS files is the only issue ?
(I work with an iMac, i7 processor).
Thanks in advance for your help!

Use MPEG Streamclip to rip the disc, and switch to a new camera.

  • Sony DSC-H5 and T-50 support

  • Download and play .MTS (HD pix from Sony DSC-TX10)in my i-Mac

    Hi everyone!
I got stuck with this one.
Is there any apple app I can use to dowload HD (.MTS files from Sony DSC-TX10) so as to be able to visualize them on my i-Mac?
    Many thanks!
    Daniel

ddominguezp, if you want to also edit the .mts videos you may need to 're-wrap' the raw .mts files to get back all the folders and other files that would have been on the memory card when you first recorded your HD video clips. A lot people attempt to pull the video clips out of all the folders surround them and that causes problems for iMovie. iMovie by itself will not recognize the .mts files but needs all the pieces that would have originally come with the .mts file to work. I'm providing a link below to a discussion started by Karsten Schlüter that covers all the bases trying to get a .mts file back into iMovie. What you are trying to do in the end is 're-wrap' the .mts files with all the folders and files that are now missing.
