Aperture App Store Update Problem (from 3.4.1)

i am trying to find out if i have a problem with updates.
i am on 3.4.1 on a mac pro using lion and it appears to me there are updates available for Aperture. when i go into the App Store and login under my CURRENT apple ID it shows Aperture (along with Lion and Mountain Lion and a couple other items. however, when i click on "Update" it says that "to update you must sign in to the account you used to purchase it."
if i log in using an old App Store (?) ID it shows that i have Skitch and Mactracker purchased under this account.
unless i am missing something this has been a source of endless problems over here and i cannot figure out if it is due to my originally having another account, if there is something amiss with my Aperture d/l or if there is soemthing going on with my switch from MobileMe to iCloud (very hairy problems with this indeed).
in any event can anyone offer advice as to whether i am just misunderstanding something here or if this is a bona fide problem? is there a way now to merge these two accounts?
TIA

  • App Store update problem: updates do not install

    Hello,
since some weeks I have the following problem: In App Store -> updates an available update is shown. Then I click the update button, but it does not install:
    - at some apps there is a little black&white + sign in the top left corner of the update button. When I press the update button nothing happens.
    - at some apps the update button changes to a green install button. Once I click on the install button it changes back to the update button.
I can bypass this problem by using the search function, find the app that offers an update and click on install there. It installs correctly and the update is no longer displayed. But when there are several updates available at the same time this is an annoying procedure.
I can also buy other apps I have not yet installed without problems.
My iPhone is a 2G with the latest OS 3.1.3.
    Thanks for your help

Now I learnt that Apple doesn't like customers that use the same Apple product for a longer time. "Please throw away once we have the next iPhone".
Since no one actually said that, let alone the fact that Apple wasn't participating, that statement is nonsense.
If you haven't grasped the concept that apps become obsolete with the never ending updates of hardware and operating systems, you're truly naive.  This is true with all computer, smartphone, and software manufacturers. All things can't be supported forever.

  • Can I help someone solve the App Store update problem

If you can't update your apps in the App Store update link, you can update your apps by clicking on the purchase icon and see which apps need to be updated and click on the app that says update and it will install.

    Adding to above^
You can also update the applications in iTunes on the comptuer then sync the changes to the devices.
Just go to the apps section in itunes where is shows all the backed up/imported applications.  Then you should see the update apps button on the lower right.

  • APP store updating problem

All the time I have problem for updating or buying from Mac APP store as I have to change it from US to UK.How can I fix it for good?

Did you have a US account in the past? Have you taken the steps to change the account to the UK?
To do so you need to change, in this order, the region or country, then the payment method and finally your billing address. They must all be in the UK.

  • Another App Store Updates problem

I can fire up App Store just fine and get to "Featured" and all of the sections except "Updates" where
it spins then provides the "the app store is temporarily unavailable. please try again later" popup.
This was happening on 10.8.4 so I upgraded from an already downloaded copy of 10.8.5.
    This didn't fix the problem.
I checked the logs and am getting messages like these:
Dec 13 18:29:32 gondor App Store[873]: FRWebDelegate: Received http status code 500 on response.
Dec 13 18:29:42 gondor storeagent[235]: CKSoftwareMap: updateRequestBodyData:includeInstalledApps:includeBundledApps:conditionally:had UnadoptedApps:waitUntilMapIsLoaded: timed out waiting for mdSemaphore
Fortunately, I am able to go to the command line and use the softwareupdate program and do my updates manually so I know that the problem is at the App Store leve.
So, how do I get Updates to work again? I've done stuff like Repair Disk Permissions and Verify Disk, reinstalled iTunes and a few other things but nothing seems to work.
    Thanks,
         -X

Read this whole message before doing anything.
    Back up all data.
Quit the App Store application if it’s running.  Wait at least 10 seconds before continuing.
    Step 1
Hold down the option key and select
    Go ▹ Library
from the Finder menu bar. Delete the following items from the Library folder (some may not exist):
    Caches/com.apple.appstore
    Caches/com.apple.storeagent
    Caches/storeagent
    Containers/com.apple.appstore
    Cookies/com.apple.appstore.cookies
    Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.appstore.*.plist
    Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.storeagent.*.plist
    Preferences/com.apple.storeagent.plist
Here * stands for a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes. Leave the Library folder open. Try the App Store again. If it works now, stop here. Close the Library folder.
    Step 2
If you still have problems, quit again and wait 10 seconds. Go back to the Finder and move the following item from the open Library folder to the Desktop:
Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plistTest. If the App Store now works, delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, quit again. Put back the file you moved, overwriting the newer one that may have been created in its place, and continue.
    Step 3
If you still have problems, quit the App Store again.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    open $TMPDIR../C
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). Depending on which web browser you use, you may have to press the return key. A folder should open. Inside that folder, there may be subfolders with the names
    com.apple.appstore
    com.apple.WebKit.WebContent+com.apple.appstore
If so, delete them. You can then quit Terminal. Test.

Sorry, it's remarkable to me that someone with a Mac Pro doesn't know how to index the HDD! I'm sending someone by to take the Pro away from you!!

  • App store update problem

The App store icon shows me that an app requires update. In the "Updates" tab, Apple Remote Desktop shows up, but the button to click is greyed out and says "installed". Quitting and restarting the App Store does not fix this.

Use an App remover to delete the app ... then reinstall it.   The reinstall will be the updated version and the reminder will go away.   Takes a minute or two for most apps.

  • HT204152 I am unable to update my App  store Updations. the reason being billing problem asking to update payment method.many times i updated my credit card details but refusing from the system .how can i update my app store updations like  Face book etc.

I am unable to update my App  store Updations. the reason being billing problem asking to update payment method. Many a  times i updated my credit card details but refusing from the system .how can i update my app store updations like  Face book etc....Using ! phone 6plus  .IOS8.3

What do you mean by 'refusing from the system', if you are getting an error message then what does it say ?
For a credit card to have a chance of being accepted it needs to be registered to the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, and have been issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are. If it is and if you are getting a 'declined' message then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums) and see if they know why it's being declined : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
If when trying to download you are getting a message about a 'problem with a previous purchase' then that implies that iTunes wasn't able to collect the money for your last purchase. If that is the case then you won't be able to download anything else (including app updates) until you've paid off what you owe : Pay an unpaid balance in the iTunes Store - Apple Support
If you aren't getting the 'problem with a previous purchase' message then try logging into your account (not when trying to download something) and see if you get the 'none' option so that you can remove the card's details and be able to download updates to your apps : Change or remove your payment information from your iTunes Store account (Apple ID) - Apple Support

It's a problem that Apple is having with their App updating system.  The best solution is to be patient, and wait for Apple to solve their systemic problem.

You are doing all that you cn do right now other than to update the apps in iTunes on your computer and sync them to the iPad.
There has been a problem with the App Store updates tab for a few days now and we are all waiting for Apple to fix it.
Look at all of the discussions on the iPad forum that are talking about this right now.

  • I have installed the latest OS X Updaate 10.8.4 - several times on my iMac, with restarts, but it won't disappear from my App Store update list.  Why?

I have installed the latest OS X Updaate 10.8.4 - several times on my iMac, with restarts, but it won't disappear from my App Store update list.  Why?   ..and how do I get rid of it?

I had a similar problem with trying to update using the App Store, and being told that the software was "installed" yet I was still only running 10.8.3.
The App Store was continually saying the 10.8.4 was available but with many tries I still could not download or install it.
And there are a few links to the OSX 10.8.4 (Combo) update that actually lead to a "Cant find this page error" on the Apple site and the App Store.
I did find a link to just the vanilla flavoured OSX 10.8.4 update here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1658 which is a smaller download of 359mb rather than 849mb with the combo update.
The simple OSX 10.8.4 update downloaded fine with Safari and I installed it with no problems from the finder. A few opening's on closing's of the App Store app made the update flag finally disappear.
I have since come back here to report this and then found the link to 10.8.4 Mountain Lion Update v10.8.4 (Combo) at http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1659 above and found that this link also starts to download the update through Safari and while I decided that I no longer needed it, I would presume that it would still install fine from the finder like the OSX 10.8.4 update did.
So it seems to me that there is a problem with (maybe occasionally) updating from the App Store, but if you download from either of the two "hard" links above and install from the finder it should be fine.

Looks O.K. to me Opens correctly in Firefox and Opera as a log-in page for Killer Content - Win7x64 Fx5.
I can't see any oddities in your plug-ins. It never hurts to clear any relevant cookies and your cache.
You could see how it goes in Safe Mode - Hold Shift key down as you double click on the Firefox icon>ignore the page that opens and continue. If the page opens you probably have a problem with extensions or themes and you should work through this -
    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting%20extensions%20and%20themes
A lot of things have been updated as well as Firefox and you could have a culprit or conflict. Next, if there is no improvement you could try disabling third party toolbars, and you should report back at this stage or if there has been early success.
Someone may come by with a more specific remedy.

  • How can I get Apple Remote Desktop to disappear from my App Store updates list?

My Apple Remote Desktop software shows up in my App Store updates list.  But I have already updated it to version 3.6.1 and it shows as "Installed".  It is greyed out and will not go away.  Any ideas on how to make it disappear is most appreciated.

All the suggestions I have read have not worked for me.
    But you can try:
Running Software Update from the Apple Menu
Logging in to the Mac App Store with the account that purchased ARD
Deleting various Apple Store .plist files
NB I haven't tried removind ARD and reinstalling.
