Aperture as screensaver - displaying deleted pictures

Hi,
I have Aperture Library selected as my screen saver. Unless I am cracking up, I am sure that the screen saver is displaying pictures that I have deleted.
Where are they coming from?
Thanks
MST

I have a similar-ish issue. I have two Aperture libraries in my Pictures folder. I have set up a smart album in one of my Aperture libraries, and then I've set my screensaver to run off that smart album.
Unfortunately, what the screensaver seems to do is to apply the rules in the smart album to all the images in my Pictures folder, regardless of which Aperture library that they are in. At least, I see that it displays pictures mixed up from both libraries.
Anybody know how to fix this?

  • Screensaver displaying wrong pictures

I have my Screensaver set to display a photo album called "Nature" but I notice that other pictures that are not in the Nature album keep popping up when the screensaver is running. I have checked the album on iPhoto multiple times, and these non-nature photos are NOT in the album, at least not in any way I can see with iPhoto.
The non-nature photos are always the same ones and look to come from the same group (or few groups) of other photos. I suspect that the screensaver "thinks" that these photos are in the Nature album.
Why would it think that? And how can I correct this issue?
    Thank you.

I have a similar problem. Used to let screensaver take pictures from Aperture. Immediately after installing SL the Screensaver refused to sync with Aperture (not compatible), so I checked AllProject under aperture. Now (may be after upgrade to 10.6.2) it works with Aperture too but Aperture or AllProject always the same story: pictures come from a very limited range and frequently I have 2-3-4 identic pictures on screen....
sure is a bug, they will fix it.

  • Delete pictures from photo stream in aperture

Downloaded the new Aperture that allows you to delete pictures from Photo Stream.  I deleted photos but those photos remain on my iphone.  What did I do wrong?

You might try posting in the Aperture forum - there are some very knowledgeable participants there; in case you don't get any replies here.

  • Delete picture from a Mobile Me album in Aperture

    Hi,
I just made a mobile me gallery out off the aperture interface and sync the content to mobile me. So far so good. But I was wondering if it's possible to delete pictures in the mobile me gallery in aperture. If I want to delete a picture in the gallery the picture will also be deleted in aperture, and that I don't want... I just want to change the pictures in the gallery. Off course I can delete the pictures in the mobile me web-interface, but the pictures are still in aperture-mobile-me gallery and will be back in the gallery the next time you sync the gallery I guess.
thanks in advance for any reply.
    Pascal.

MobileMe Galleries are simply a type of album. Deleting an image from an album will not delete the image from Aperture. Simply select the image. and press the delete key. Aperture will warn you before it deletes a master, but it will remove a version from am Album without comment.

  • Restoring deleted pictures !!!!

I have by mistake deleted about 40 pictures, and they are not in my trach any more. But i am still able to see them in Aperture, burt the patch/map aperture links the pictures to they are not to find as i deleted this map and thought i copied them to another map. Can i restore these pictures, as i can still see them in aperture, but not copy/edit them. As Aperture still able to show picture even in full screen, i hope there i a chance. Please all help is more then welcome .......these pictures is from my diving vacation and of great value to me.

The images you found are Previews that Aperture generates to be used by the Media Browser, for Screensaver or Desktop and so on. They quality of the Aperture previews depends on your settings in the Preferences. Usually it is just good enough for a full screen display, but not good enough for printing.
Since you now have them in iPhoto you can import them back into Aperture using the iPhoto Browser, and then they will be ordinary Aperture images like all others.
From your previous post I assume that you are working with referenced masters on an external drive.
To prevent further data loss you should adopt a strategy where to keep the master files, so that you know exactly where they are, and which images mustd not be deleted. It is really dangerous to have your referenced masters distributed all over the place.
And start a backup strategy right now ....

  • How can I  delete pictures from my moments off the new IOS8

How can I delete pictures from my moments off the new IOS8 when it doesnt give me the option to delete the photo itself? The icon of the trash doesnt appear what so ever. This is the only thing im dissapointed in the IOS8 update. Theres not even a camera roll where you can delete the photo like the IOS7

    Try this:
    1. Start from the homescreen of your Iphone/pod (for dummies: where all of your "apps" are).
    2. Look for an app on your homescreen titled "Photos", when you find it - Click it.
    3. When the app opens, go ahead and look towards the bottom of your phonescreen.
         You should see a navigation with three different options;
"Photos", "Shared" & "Albums"; Why don't you just go ahead and click on "Albums", there we go - Very nice!
    4. On the next screen that appears, it should display your different albums.
Look for "Recently Deleted", and when you find it - Click on it.
It should be on that list somewhere (or there's a problem!).
    5. Now you should see a screen displaying all of the recent photos you've deleted.
The term we know as "recent" to iOS is thirty days (that's 720 hours in people-time!).
You will have to click to each individual photo, however at the bottom left-hand cornor of every photo take notice of the 'Delete' option.
    You're welcome.

  • Aperture doesn't see all Pictures for import

I am having problems with Aperture finding photo files for importing. I set the family tree (having tried various routes) for viewing various folders and the images that I know are in the folder, just dont appear!

Have you tried to toggle between folders in the Aperture Import panel? I noticed, that it takes some time for the image files to appear in the Import window.  And Aperture does not seem to refresh the Import Browser window, when you move files around.
    So try the following:
Close the "Import" panel in Aperture.
In the Library Inspector panel make sure, you have a library item selected, that you can import to, not the Trash or something, otherwise the Import window might appear to be empty in AP 3.4.
    Check again the settings.
Then select the folder you want to import from in the Import panel. Wait a moment for the images to appear. If the do not appear, switch to a different folder and then back.
If that still will not show your photos, switch between different "File Types" settings.
If none of this helps, check, if Aperture will see the Desktop or Pictures folder, if you are importing into a different Aperture library.
If even a new library does not help, it may be a problem of corrupted Preferences. Then you probably have a problem with corrupted user preferences.
Remove the Preferences: Remove the Aperture's user preferences from the User Library as described here:
    Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805
Note:Your User Library is hidden by default in MacOS X 10.7.x or later - to open it in a Finder window use the "Go" menu from the Finder's main menu bar.
Quit Aperture, if it is running. Log off and on again.
Open the user library by using the Finder's "Go > Go to Folder" menu and hold down the options-key, until "Library" appears in the drop down menu. Select it.
In the widow that will open, scroll down to "Preferences"
From the "Preferences" folder  remove "com.apple.Aperture.plist".
Then try to launch Aperture again.
But deleting the "Preferences" file will cause Aperture to forget the preferences settings. Be prepared to have to reset all options you set using the Aperture Preferences panel.

  • Ipod nano does not display the picture covers

Hello, I have a 2nd generation nano. I used to "associate" a picture (the album cover) with the song files in itunes and they were displayed in the Nano.
Suddenly the nano stopped to display the pics. I deleted all the songs and put them again and I reseted the nano and now even the old files are not displaying the pictures, although itunes displays them correctly.
I hope I didn't mess too much with the explanation. sorry.
Does anybody know how can I see the covers again?
    Thank you.

If you are using iTunes from version 7 onwards, then when you connect the iPod the summary screen should automatically open.
If you click on the 'music' tab, you will see the option to:
"display album artwork on your iPod".
    Make sure it's still selected.

  • IPhoto display black picture

i deleted photo from my iPhone then.. my picture in iPhoto display black picture.... How can i recover my picture? - -*

Thumbnails repaired. No visible photos yet.
When I quit iPhoto again, an informational dialog says "updating library"..
    Restarted again, and  "Repair Database"d
Restarted again, and now "Rebuilding Database"ing.
Database Rebuilt. Still no photos displayed.
Also, iBooks shows the book covers, but the contents are just drop-shadow outlines, like the Preview documents.
So, I'm now re-downloading Yosemite Developer Preview from the App Store.

  • Deleting pictures from my iPod

I synched a large number of pictures to my iPod, but I don't want all of them on my device. Unforutnately, I don't know how to remove the pictures I just added from the iPod. There seems to be no way to delete them on iTunes or the device itself. How can I delete pictures I just synched to my iPod?

To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
    Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
    Click Apply.

Did you recently start using iCloud to backup your photos?
Wife had the same problem today.  Remembering that I had recently signed her up for more space on iCloud and started backing up her photos, I decided to roll the dice and turn that off.  Plug phone back into computer and *boom* I now have the option to delete.  Now I just have to figure out how I can do both = \
