Aperture changes referencing of pictures?

Twice I have noticed a very strange event.  My referenced Aperture Library is located on my internal drive and my pictures are located on an external drive (Pictures 1).  I use SuperDuper to back up my 'Pictures 1' drive to another drive called 'Pictures 1 bkup'.  I opened Aperture this morning and found that all of the pointers were directed to 'Pictures 1 bkup' and not the primary drive 'Pictures 1'.
I am in the process of reconnecting 10702 references to the  'Pictures 1' drive.
Any suggestions as to why this is occurring?

When you did the clone did you do a block-level clone or a file-by-file clone? I'm guessing you did the block level, am I right?
I don't know for sure but I'm guessing that the block level clone  also duplicates the UUID. Th UUID can be changed but its a bit involved and I don;t have that info in front of me right now.
But before you change it think, with the cloned drive having the same UUID should the need ever arise that you need to use it you'll just be able to swap in the clone and Aperture will use it as if nothing happened (Aperture uses UUID to identify external drives). Normally when you swap in a backup even if the name and file structure is identical to the drive swapped out, Aperture will still require you to reconnect the referenced masters.
Anyway all this goes out the window if you didn't do a block level clone and/or CCC doesn't copy the UUID on block level clones.

  • Aperture changes resolution of pictures

I'm probably missing something really easy, but I don't use Aperture regularly, so....
I take pics with 180x180 ppi, 1920 x 1080. I import one into Aperture to do some "enhancing" and export the enhanced version. The picture now is 72 x 72 ppi. If I export the original, it is still 180x180; but that isn't the enhanced version. I cannot find a setting/option to tell Aperture to leave that alone - I don't appreciate having a picture resolution changed without my doing it.
Is there a way to leave the resolution untouched even if I make changes to a picture and where can I set it?

    Hi babowa,
how are you exporting the enhanced version? Using the command "File > Export > Version" with the "Export Preset" set to "Jpeg - Original Size"?
Then check the "DPI" settings for this preset. That is by default set to 72 dpi, and change it 180.
You can do that by selecting this preset on export, then changing the preset to "Edit". In the "Image Export - Edit" panel you can duplicate this preset and modify the copy. Simply set the dpi to 180 DPI. Then use your own preset.

  • How do I change my Desktop Picture to a solid color?

Hello folks, I'm trying to change my desktop picture to a solid black color in Leopard. How do I do that? I went into the desktop preferences under System Preferences but under solid colors, they do not have black. And I have no idea how to add more colors to the few selections there. Can someone help me out please? Thank you.

That's one idea, they have a solid black .png file on there, and you can either set it as your desktop and tile it, or follow their instructions.

  • HOw do I change the desktop pictures on macbook air?

I simply can not change the desktop pictures on my macbook air. If anyone  knows please help. Thanks.

  • How do I change the background picture that is shown when i start my Mac?

On the iMacs in my school they have a different name for everyone of the after for example the band Queen and then there is a picture on the inlogg screen with queen on it. So then you log in and there is another background picture after that. I Have a macbook pro and I would like to change that "start-picture".
Right now it´s kind of boring and grey. Can you change it somehow?

It sounds like you're using Adobe Send for Outlook.  Correct?
Unfortunately, there is no way to change the default text that is inserted into your message. You'll have to change it each time.
I will pass along your request to the Adobe Send team.

  • Apple Mail 7.3 - How to change my profile picture?

    Hi!
I checked the old available posts, but none of them really solved my question, so here I go again with my question regarding the small picture shown on outgoing mails in Apple's Mail 7.3.
Currently it shows a default 'green lightning' picture on my outgoing mails in the upper right corner.
I did: System Preferences > Users & Groups, and selected Current User (Admin/myself), and dragged and dropped a new personal picture into the picture box showing the old 'green lightning' default picture which was then substituted by the new pic of my choice. All done.
However, Mail 7.3 after numerous restarts and 48 h later now, STILL shows on outgoing mails the old 'green lightning' pic which I had substituted before via Sytem Preferences > Users & Groups.
    Can anybody help?
    Thanks!!

    Hey MN072012,
Thanks for the question. The picture is actually pulled from your card in Contacts. If you open up Contacts and find the card that is associated with your email address, I suspect you will see that the “lightning” picture is still linked to that card. Try changing it there and sending a test email to yourself.

Add or change the contact pictures that appear in contact cards and in other apps that use contact information, such as Mail and Messages. Your contacts don’t see the pictures; only you do.
    Thanks,

  • Getting Problem In Changing The Account Picture.

No button is working. All the buttons on the screen are friezed. I have tried lot of ways but nothing is working.

    Hi,
For this issue, the only thing I can think now is that your version of Windows isn't activated correctly.
Can you check Control Panel\System and Security\Action Center\Windows Activation
You can get here by right clicking in the lower left hand corner, choosing "System" then clicking "View details in Windows Activation"
Meanwhile, please let us know your account. Local account or Microsoft account?
If your system has been activated, and then the issue still persists, please try using Microsoft account to change the account picture.

my phone no longer changes the view/picture/map when i go from vertical to the horizontal position is this some thing to do with the accelerometer

No, that would probably be the orientation lock. Check up by the battery icon and see if you have an icon with a small lock and a circular arrow. Either way, go to the Control Center, swiping up from the bottom of the screen. Look at the top row of icons and the orientation lock is the last one on the right. White is on, black is off. Just turn it off and you should be alright. Understand there are some apps that do not change into the landscape mode from portrait.

    In your case, you may need to run a full anti-virus scan to remove any elements that the hacker may have used in accessing your account, and immediately change your password.  I'm not sure if Skype can provide you with the information you wanted, but you may also need to contact them as well as they may have additional instructions or advice;

  • How can I change my profile picture

Dear All, The Modern Skype with touch-screen features looks completely different from the old Skype that we used with Win 7 and earlier versions. For example, in the old Skype, we could go to the Skype button and easily scroll to "Change your profile picture". In the new Skype, there is no functionality to do this. (That is, as far as I know). If you click on "My account", it takes you to the Skype website. In that, you can go to "My Profile", and then "Edit", but the edit does not have any button next to your picture to enable you to change it. In short, I don't know what to do. Please help. Thank you so much in advance for your attention. Dr. Taher

I hope everyone will forgive my ignorance, because it seems everyone but me can get this done.  Upon viewing the instructions, I do not appear to have the same structure to my home page as others do.  When I click on "my profile", I do see an "edit" button, but I can edit everything except my profile picture.  I'm on a PC using the latest version of windows.  Any help is most gratefully received.  You are not alone.  When I log on there is no picture in the top right corner.  There is one on the left margin so I clicked on the and it took me to the Personal Information page.  There is not any options to change the picture.  To make matters worse; Skype have not updated their knowledgebase help page and are still showing the old drop down menus (Which were much better than what we have now).  Why does a company like Skype roll out completely different user interfaces and leave their hlp pages with out of date information.  Infuriation to the maximum.

I tried the new photostream share fonctionality in IOS6 and updated Aperture, but my vertical pictures from my Nikon D50 is not correctly rotated as it is in Aperture view.

  • I want to change my Whatsapp picture but most pictures turn out either upside down or sidewards; I even have auto rotation but it works on certain pictures only, what do I do?

I turned auto rotation on and I want to change my profile picture on Whatsapp. On certain pictures they turn out correct, however on most of them, they turn out sidewards or even upside down. I want to calibrate my phone but it doesn't say anything in settings about calibrating it, what do I do?

When they turn sidewards what I do is going to Photos, then Edit the specific photo I want as my Whatsapp profile and turn it 4 times. It will stay the same in Photos but when I go to Whatsapp and choose it, it doesn't turn sidewards this time.
    Hope this helps!

  • How can I change my profile picture to a photo from iPhoto?

I want to change my profile picture on my Macbook Pro, but the only pictures that are letting me choose from, are the default pictures, I can't even see my photos from iPhoto as an option. Please help!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
In OS X Lion and Mountain Lion, the option to change the profile picture changed, making difficult the process to select a iPhoto library photo as the account picture.
First, open System Preferences > Users & Groups, and press the user picture. Then, open iPhoto and drag the photo you want to use as your account picture to the box with the user picture in System Preferences. Now, set up the photo as you want and accept it, so you will be using this photo as your account picture

    MOD EDIT:
    Hey everyone
Just to clear up any confusion, this post was originally started with a handy way to upload your own picture to the Spotify Community, and use it as your avatar.
Currently, the only way to have your own image within the Spotify app is by connecting your account to Facebook.
If you'd like to see this feature in the future, make sure you add your Kudos and feedback here.
    Thanks a lot.

For some reason I don't feel like spotify has enough personality as a service. Yeah it has a **bleep** ton of music but not allowing me to create my own profile with background and custom profile image, so i made the switch to beats music. Yeah it doesn't have the music catalog that spotify has but it has personality. The playlists feel more personal and the sentence actually works really well I am still surprised by it. So sorry spotify it doesn't seem like you give a **bleep** about your subscribers. We have been asking you for this one thing for years and it's something that should have been put in day one but whatever partnership you have with **bleep**ty facebook seems more important so whatever. I will take my money somewhere else.
