Aperture crashes after tethered shooting...help
When I use Aperture 3.1 on 27" iMac with 4 GB memory, and I have shot a burst of 3-5 images on my tethered 5D, I experience the spinning beach ball, and
totally unresponsive Aperture, have to force quit or it eventually quits on its own.
Any ideas?
If your signature is correct, and you're not abbreviating which version of Aperture you're using, I would do Software Updates first to get to 10.6.7 and Aperture 3.1.2. See if that helps.

That depends. I have not seen your crash log.
The problem is, that the current Aperture installer is buggy. Depending on the Aperture version you are upgrading from, some frameworks may not be installed correctly. The installer erraniously assumes they are already installed. That is why the suggested fix is to reinstall from an early version, so the installer is forced to install everything new.
Your plist contains your webaccounts, recent files, the layout of the Gui. If one of these settings prompts Aperture to use ine of the missing frameworks, it will crash. For most people here it is the Facebook setting. Removing the preferences makes Aperture forget that you have a Facebook account. If you add that account again, Aperture probably will crash again.

Aperture crashes after opening
I have installed the latest version of Aperture from the App Store, and imported my iPhoto library successfully. However, Aperture now opens only to crash after opening with an error message of Exception Type: EXCBADACCESS (SIGBUS). I have tried several times to delete and reinstall from the App Store with same result.
I have reindexed and repaired potential permissions conflicts in the photo library and my OS is updated with the latest Combo update, so this should not be the fault.
Look forward to receive help as I getting frustrated!
/FrodeHmm… Googling this error brings up anything from bad RAM to corrupted files, and in every application from Safari to iTunes, Mellel, Logic, AVID… It's a doozy. It could also be caused by third-party apps as well.
The fact that it happens in a new user means it's not a local prefs problem. Do you have any plugins installed in your root Library folder (not your home but the first level of the hard drive)?

You did this by holding command-option when starting up Aperture? If not try doing that and doing a full repair. Otherwise I read a suggestion to re-install the last combo update, which might be an idea.

Ive been using it without any problems for months and it has now decided to crash whenever it feels like it.

There have been some updates recently. iTunes, and iDVD were both updated and i did use the Auto-Update Utility to update to 10.4.10.
Im just using the built in audio and a Novation SL 37 Controller keyboard.
If it helps, it crashes after loading all of the AU settings, Loops Library, Core Audio and MIDI Drivers. Just after the arrange window opens up.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
You need to download and re-install 10.4.9, but using the COMBO update, the large size one. The version that Auto-Update uses is broken, and does not install properly, as you now see.
Also, try to download and install the "Pro Application Support" version 4.0.1 or 4.0.2, after doing the 10.4.10 update again.

Aperture Crashing After Update
Hi there,
I am not sure exactly when, but a month or two ago I approved an Aperture update. After doing this, I started having a lot of beach ball/crashing problems while making adjustments to photos (skin smoothing, blur--these kids of adjustments). Sometimes just Aperture does a forced close and sometimes the complete system freezes and I have to shutdown/restart the entire computer.
I am new to the Mac world and only so savvy on a computer in general. I have read a lot of the discussions about Aperture crashing and problems, but none of them seem to fit exactly right and a lot of them have solutions that I do not fully understand. Does anyone have ideas on how to fix this problem? Can they be explained in layman terms? I would greatly appreciate it.
What kind of information do you need from me...and how can I find it for you? I see the crash reports a lot, is the text copy/paste-able into the forums here?

Youtube App losing sound and is crashing after 10minutes. Help
Hi guys,I have problem with youtube app on demand. After 10 minutes watch, sound goes mute and crash soon afterward. I did reset the box, changed the network etc but still the problem occure. Is it faulty box or any other problem!thanksG

Aperture crashes after opening library, Aperture crashes after opening library
My Aperture 3.2.3 crashes after opening the Library. The problems arised after vieuwing the Aperture-library with APPLE TV.
I updated the software already, but no result. Is my library corrupt?
How can I solve my problem?I did not install any multi-media software recently. Importing pics is almost daily work.

How can I get tethered shooting to work again? It did before but now Lightroom never detects my camera. I have a Nikon D600 with the latest firmware, Lightroom 5.7 and Windows 8.1 64bit. I tried everything on this site already: Troubleshoot tethered capture in Lightroom
I have the same problem and no one answered to my post.
I am suspecting windows 8.1 to stealing the camera resource and hiding it to Lightroom.
I tried ALL recommendations on the Adobe support site and it still does'nt work.
It works well with Windows 7 though.

Locking secondary display for slideshow. Auto Export after tethered shooting?
I use LR 3.5 when I shoot tethered. It seems the upgrade to 3.5 helped with the inconsistent connection problem on my D3. I still get dropped but not as often.

I've been using LR for a photo booth arrangement. I add logos using watermarks. As I shoot; the images display on my projector.
I am trying out the secondary display feature using my TV. Seems to be working but I want to lock the secondary screen onto Lightroom.
When I go to another application the secondary screen goes away and I get a standard apple screen shot. Is there a way to lock it so I can use another application on my Macbook Pro?
I need to use a Polaroid GL10 printer for an event and have to use Polaroid's software. There is no print driver yet for this.
So I have to export images from LR3. Then import and print using Polaroid's software
I would love to see LR have an auto export function. So I can capture tethered, process images, and export images into a folder while I'm shooting.
I don't think this exists? Are there any plugins that you can recommend for this.

I get the "unexpectedly quit" message of death, attempted to relaunch as well as reset and relaunch. I rebooted, no joy. Anyone else experience this issue before I re-install the app?

I repeatedly uninstalled this application with the same crash unexpectedly results. Even after removing the framework as requested. I tried using the trial install of 3.1, and like the 3.1 from the Software Update, it crashes and locks up my entire machine after clicking on the prompt to restart my MacBook Pro.
Another block of my time wasted. Nice going, Apple. "If it's broken, don't fix it." -
Aperture crashes after PTLens-plugin...
It happens when I export an image, that I corrected with PTLens or when I try to switch to iPhoto.
The library I work with in Aperture is an iPhoto-library.
The export is successful and after restart of Aperture everything works as well as before.
I repaired the right of the library and the I repaired the database but it do not help.
Is it a bug only on my Mac?

ReinholdDo you ever open your Aperture Library in iPhoto? Somebody reported a similar error a while back and I seem to recall iPhoto was involved.
Before proceeding, I'd double check the version numbers.
Navigate to the Application in your Applications folder and click on it to see the version number:
Then do the same for the database, navigate to the Pictures folder (or where you keep it) and select it to show the details, including the version number:
If the two versions match, make sure you have a backup of the library and then let the repair go ahead. If you only have one version of Aperture, then that's the version you want your library working with.

SAFARI crashed after installing Yosemite-HELP!!
I have macbook air 11 inch bought 2 months ago. Everything was working well until I decided to upgrade to Yosemite- The download took forever so I went to sleep and opened the laptop today. Safari was not opening some websites (msn.com or yahoo.com) so I called apple support. After doing screen share-they said websites are opening and Yosemite 10.10.1 installation was not completed last night and it would be better if I did the upgrade. So Yosemite was installed.
After one hr-safari is worse than before. Websites either open with no picture and letters jumbled to one corner or website doesn't open at all

So I can't even go to apple support website and get help so they can see the screen and help me. After spending 80 minutes on the phone with apple customer service waiting for someone to help me-I was told its difficult to help unless screen share is done but that is not possible as I can't go to apple website!!!

I am so upset with this -I just want my mac back. I can't even find the button to delete yosemite!!

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2. -
Aperture crashes after a minute or so every time opened
The last time I tried uploading photos from a memory card, it got halfway through, then stopped with a n error message saying it couldn't upload anymore due to an error (I can't recall the exact wording of the message)
Since then, if I try to open Aperture, after about 30 seconds the beachball appears, it closes, and the message pops up that Aperture has just unexpectedly closed, asking if I want to relaunch. Of course if I relaunch, the same thing happens. I've tried rebooting the macbook, but it still does the same thing. Applecare is closed here in Canada today (civic holiday) - any suggestions?Which photos?
All the photos I've already uploaded to Aperture are stored in the Aperture library (I presume), so I don't see how I can open them with iPhoto or Finder. Is there a way of doing so?
I could try uploading the photos in my camera's memory card to iPhoto, but I am more concerned about the 900 or so photos I uploaded a few days ago, that I was able to view and edit in Aperture - I don't want to lose those. -

Thanks you!What is your Aperture version? Is there any reason, that you do not upgrade to the most recent Lion version 10.7.5? That should have a better integration with iCloud and Photo Stream.
For some posters this kind of crash could be fixed by deleting the contents of
~/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement
and rebooting. However, deleting this folder on your Mac will delete all cached contents of the PhotoStream on your Mac. You may want to backup this folder, before erasing the contents from the library.
if this should not work for you, reinstall Lion.

In the recent MacOS versions Lion/Mt. Lion the user Library is hidden.
You can reveal it from the Finder's "Go" menu in the main menu bar:
Finder > Go
Then hold down to options-key ⌥, until Library appears in the drop-down menu. Select it and open the Library.
In the window that opens select the "Application Support" folder, then the "iLifeAssetManagement" folder. -
IPad 2 apps crashing after 1 day, help?
I bought an iPad 10 Nov in Houston at an Apple store and after one day of use all of the apps that are not from Apple crash. I can open email, safari, setting, photo booth, etc, but cannot open for example, Facebook, Netflix, or any games. The only system changes that have been made is that I have updated to iOS 5.0.1 and since I got a warning about my iCloud being almost full I turned off iCloud back up on many apps for my iPad and iPhone both that weren't necessary. I have restarted my iPad multiple times, backed it up on iTunes multiple times, don't know what else to do but ask here on the forum. Everything worked fine until about mid-day yesterday. The new iOS had been installed for like 12 hours before this issue started. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance!
As it's just happening on the downloaded apps, then what's worked for other people is downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try them - the free app can then be deleted.
