Aperture crashing since Mavericks upgrade
I recently upgraded to Mavericks. Now Aperture keeps crashing and I cant use it at all. It's version 2 but had been working fine until the upgrade.
How can I resolve this or how expensive is it to upgrade Aperture. (Not really what I want to do though)
Can anybody tell me if there is a solution to this problem. I'm not a techy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Edel

The current version Aperture 3.5.1 is less expensive than the previous boxed retail versions used to be:
You get it at the AppStore https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/aperture/id408981426?mt=12&ls=1 for $79.99 dollars in the United States, the prices vary from country to country.
Sign into the AppStore with your AppleID and search on the Featured tab for the "Aperture" download.

Many applications are crashing since I upgraded my iphone 4s to iOS 8.0.2
Unfortunately my iphone 4s has became unreliable and unstable since I upgraded to iOS 8.0.2. I cannot even go back to earlier iOS 7.1.2.
Phone is now very slow and many applications are crashing. Battery is draining like anything.
I tried options from internet to save battery, but whats the point of having iphone if I have to turn off the features to save battery.
Some of the applications which started crashing since I upgrade also does not exists anymore on store to get the their support.
Apple - when will these issues gets fixed ? or am I suppose to trash this beautiful piece of hardware just because of firmware issues?
Can you not at least allow people to go back to earlier stable iOS till you fix them?Vào Thứ Bảy, ngày 18 tháng 10 năm 2014, Apple Support Communities Updates <

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

Addresssourcesync high cpu since maverick upgrade what to do?
1 enable dead connnection detection in sqlnet.ora and/or set an idle time on the default profile.
2 v$session last_call_et in seconds.
Generally this is a result of 'programs' connecting for every statement via jdbc et other drivers.
You can choose to configure connection pooling in conjunction with multithreaded servers.
Open_cursor is NOT an instance wide limit though, it is session wide.

Can anyone help, or suggest what I need to do exactly so I can use my Macbook securely once again? I cannot use it for work whilst it randomly crashes as I am worried about losing everything again.

Apple Mail keeps crashing since Mavericks install
Can someone please advise - ever since I upgraded to Mavericks mail crashes. I open Mail (I have 2 apple mail accounts) and it loads my messages. As soon as I click on a message the app crashes. I've sent numerous reports and have to log in through Chrome or Safari which is really really annoying. Please help!!!
Hi!
I fixed my mail app crash issue as below
1) Go to ~/Library/Mail/ (By right click at finder and choose "Go to Folder..." then type "~/Library/Mail/"
2) Back up ~/Library/Mail/V2 folder for your mailboxes.
3) Relaunch Mail
4) Sync all your e-mails again
5) If your old mail (only in local) is needed, import your back up mailbox. (Mail->File->Import Mailboxes)
By the way, "defaults delete com.apple.mail ColorQuoterColorList" didn't work out for me.
Have a nice day!! -
IWork apps crashing after Mavericks upgrade
I upgraded to Mavericks without a hitch. After the upgrade I was prompted to update iWork via the Mac app store. Now I have the applications upgraded and installed but they simply won't open. They will open for a second and then immediately crash.
I've tried uninstalling them and re-installing. I also tried uninstalling them via programs like CleanMyMac to see if maybe some lingering files were left over that would cause the crash... but no dice.
Anyone else having this issue? If so, any ideas on how to resolve it? I'd like to be able to use the software I purchased and would like to fix this without wiping my whole computer and starting fresh.
Update: This happens on 2 different Macs I have, so it isn't specific to one machine. This has been really annoying me ever since I upgraded to Mavericks on my iMac and my partner's iMac (which is a little older than mine). iWork apps worked perfectly on my partner's iMac straight away, no problem. On MY iMac however, all the apps kept unexpectedly quitting. I tried every solution suggested here. I also rang Apple. My warranty ran out an age ago but they still offered to help me for free - and I should think so too!
I was talked through various processes (all of which I had already tried) and, of course, none of them worked. Incidentally, the Apple person didn't believe I have a shortcut to my (invisible) Library folder on my Desktop and in my Dock. My User Library folder, that is, not the System one. She told me "that is IMPOSSIBLE" and got rather huffy about it when I offered to send her a screenshot. I can assure everyone it IS possible... But that's another story...).
After numerous restarts etc. the disgruntled Apple person admitted defeat and told me to set up another user to work with Keynote, Pages and Numbers. I did, and they opened normally, but I was rather annoyed at having to change users to use iWork.
I was very disappointed each time subsequent updates did NOT fix the matter. However, this morning I thought I'd have one more go at trying to open Pages before going mad, and lo and behold it works! So do the other two apps. Is everyone else's working now? Did I miss an update that fixed things? I'd be very interested to know if it WAS an update or something I did because I did bin the .plist files last week again out of sheer desperation and only just rebooted... -
Aperture crash since last update. 3.3.
Now...this is killing me. After issues with FCPX and the last release, Aperture 3.3 won't stay open. EVERYTIME I open Aperture, after 10 to 15 secondes, it crash. No beach ball or any kind of warning. What's going on? Can someone help please. I had no issues B4 that last update.
Thank's.I'm getting a different crash from Aperture 3.3. Please help. I downloaded the update, and launched the app. I get this dialog box:
I clicked Upgrade, and got a status bar indicating 7 steps. Everything seemed fine during the first 4 steps, and then the application crashed in step 5. I got the Problem Report below.
Things I already tried:
- rebooted the computer
- deleted Aperture and the .pkg files in teh receipts folder
- repaired the permissions with disk utility
Note that the Aperture library is on a Drobo external drive.

Mac Book Pro slow with boot up since Mavericks upgrade
Hi folks,
my mac book pro is booting up very slow and running slow as well since I upgraded to Mavericks.
Tried cleaning up, booting in safe mode, veryfying disk utility but nothing detected.
Can someone check my ETRE or does anyone have another idea what I can do to better the overall performance of my mac?
Thanks and cheers

Frequent Panic NVRM[0/1:0:0]: Read...: Apple Support Communities
It is not caused by third-party software. The true cause is unknown, or at least unknown to me. It's either a hardware fault or a bug in Lion that only affects certain Mac models. Take the machine to an Apple Store for testing. -
Photoshop CS keeps crashing since Tiger upgrade
Photoshop CS keeps crashing when saving files since we upgraded to 10.4.5 Tiger. Everything was working fine under 10.3.9 Panther. Is that a known issue? Thanks!
Hi, Colorblind. Welcome to the Discussions.
First, for questions concerning Photoshop (PS), PS CS, and PS CS2 you should search the Adobe knowledge based or search/post on the Adobe Photoshop Mac Forum.
1. How did you upgrade to 10.4.5? Was this an Upgrade Install or an Archive install of 10.4.5 atop 10.3.9?
2. To where are you saving the files? An AFP server? There is a known issue with PS CS and CS2 under 10.4.6 when saving to AFP servers. See Adobe Knowledgebase document "Photoshop crashes when you save files to a network volume (CS and CS2 on Mac OS X v10.4.6)."
3. What error messages are you getting when PS CS "crashes," if any?
For example, see the Adobe KB documents "Personalization errors occur when starting Photoshop (CS on Mac OS X)."
Good luck!

Files won't save since Maverick upgrade
I have a file that exist in a folder and would like to replace it with an updated version of the same file (example.xls with example.xls) it asks if I want to replace and I say yes but the original file remains. I must first delete the original then svae the new version. This is only since I did the Maverick upgrade. Is there a fix for this.
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
Issues with .mov files from Canon 5d mk3 - since Mavericks upgrade...
Hello,
Ever since I upgraded my OS to Mavericks, Premier Pro has been refusing to 'see' .mov files in my projects. In the timeline the bits of .mov footage are appearing as red blocks, in the preview pane you get 'Awaiting media' then the red block of doom.
So currently I'm having to convert footage from .mov to mp4v - then it seems to be OK. The upgrading to Mavericks could be a coincidence ... but before that I had no issues with PP.
This is my system:
Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5
OS X 10.9.1 (13B42)
Graphics ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB
Memory 12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
I would love some help/ideas on this - it's doing my head in having to convert .mov files, and having to back convert stuff in my existing projects ... please help!
Best - Abbottssnapper

Audio clicks/pops since Mavericks upgrade
Ever since the upgrade to OSX 10.9, I've been experiencing frequent clicks/pops in MainStage 3's output with the same buffer/processor core settings as before. What's strange is that the CPU doesn't seem to be spiking at all, and there isn't anything else taxing the computer. Higher buffer settings help a little bit, but even at a level of 256 samples I'm still getting more degraded output as compared to Mountain Lion. It doesn't seem to be plugin-specific... the problem is present in Apple's AU's as well as third-party plugins like Kontakt and Ivory II. Using standalone instruments outside of MainStage doesn't produce the same clicks/pops, even at lower buffer settings. I'm not using an external sound card/interface.
Things I've tried:
-Different buffer settings, as mentioned above - using MainStage 3 before the upgrade at 64 samples (with safety buffer) was great
-Removed MainStage as well as the associated preference files and reinstalled
-Created new concerts/patches rather than using preexisting ones
Any suggestions? My last resort would be trying a clean install of Mavericks or reverting to Mountain Lion, but I don't really have a strong desire to do either of those... Thanks in advance for your help!
HW: 2012 MBP Retina at 2.6 GHz
SW : OSX 10.9.1 Mavericks, MainStage 3.0.2 using Kontakt 5, XLN Addictive Keys, Ivory III just upgraded to Maverick 10.9.2 recently . I tested the latest version of Mainstage after reading this post to see if I might encounter the same problem .
After spending 30 minutes with Mainstage , there's hasen't been any clicks or pops whatsoever .
The buffer size is 128 samples .
I also am using ONLY Logic soft synths . No 3rd party in my concerts . ( for now anyways )
Just wondering if the problems that you have been running into might be caused by the use of 3rd party plugs .
I am using a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 as class compliant USB 2 audio interface with buitl in midi .
I had to update the firmware of the audio card because of Maverick to avoid audio dropouts . That also solved a potential problem .
