Aperture default photo

Is there a way I can set a particular photo to be the one displayed when I start up Aperture?

Aperture should open with the same workspace configuration that was displayed when you closed it.  There is no default start-up screen.
You can set the Image that shows in Project View for each Project -- but that doesn't seem to be what you want to do.

It depends on how you are using iPhoto and Aperture.
iPhoto and Aperture each create their own library files, and the default location for them is in /users/youruseraccount/Pictures
You can configure iPhoto and Aperture to use the same Library file, in which case your photos are only stored once.  But if you are using iPhoto & Aperture with independent library files, you may in fact be duplicating your storage.
The second consideration is whether or not you have configured iPhoto and/or Aperture as reference libraries, in which case their library files only reference photos you have stored in other places on your hard drive.  Setting them up as reference libraries does not duplicate the photos inside the library files.

  • Bug in default photo lib. application (iPad2)

Hello, today took photos of my daughter. Usually I take HD photos from a professional camera and transfer them to a default photo library to view and store for good. But I've discovered a bud when viewing photos when full zoomed out: right in the middle of the screen you may see a line from the top to the bottom, almost like the photo is split in a half and pieces overlap. Really annoying. If you zoom in and then zoom out again it disappears, but still, I qualify it as a bug. Because now it is impossible to just flip the photos to view it properly. You have to zoom in and out every time. I even made screenshots, but I guess this isn't a place to attach them. :(
See it for yourself. Try HD photos and flip them, you'll see what I'm talking about.
QUESTION: Who do I have to write to, in order for this bug to be included into next SW update?
    Many thanks in advance!

  • How to email Aperture library photos from iPhoto

Want to use Aperture library photos (which I can easily view from iPhoto 11) in the beautiful email systems of iPhoto. When I select the Aperture library photos and select Share-email nothing happens, then the Share-email menu becomes grayed out. According to the help available all aperture library shots are fully available for use in iPhoto 11. Any suggestions? Thanks

You hav to move the photos from Aperture to iPhoto to do this.
    1. Using the Media Browser you can drag from the browser to the iPhoto Window - this yields the Aperture Previews
    2. Export from Aperture to the Finder, import to iPhoto.
That said if you use Apple's Mail.app you can
A: Take advantage of the Stationery feature, which has more templates than iPhoto, more varied thatn iPhoto and others can be downloaded
B: It's a full mail application, with an outbox and so on
C: You can email from Aperture, and so avoid this loop into iPhoto.

  • LR3 seems to be set as my "default" photo editor. Don't want that!

Can anyone tell me where I can change what my default photo editor to what I want. Each time I plug anything that MIGHT have a photo on it activates LR3 causing me to wait until it fully launches and then I have to cancel the import process and then go to file and exit.
My LR3 window is a little two large for the screen and I can't see the red X or the min. button or any other options. I also can't see/find the tools that should show up on the left side of the window. The screen resolution is set an the recommended for my computer and all other programs, but I guess I haven't tried to change it to resolve this issue.
If anyone can give me a suggestion to resolve the software opening without being commanded to, and how to see the tools, etc please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Scott

I have tried those. I got a tutorial on LR3 from Phil Steele, and when his screen is displayed it has different tools in a white background down the left side of the window. I am going to try calling tech support and see what they say. If anyone has another idea I'd appreciate a response,
    Thanks,

  • N8 default photo viewer and Nokia Maps

With the E52, I can view a photo (with geotag) with the default photo viewer. Select "Option/Show on Maps" and it will automatically opens up Nokia Maps showing where that photo was taken. And to navigate to that place.
With the N8 photo viewer, there isn't any such option. Is there any apps that could do that? Thanks

Seems it works the same way that on Nokia 5800xm as mentioned here ...

Select File/New Page/Blank and drag your file onto it if you want to play it in QuickTime.
Use the QuickTime inspector window to adjust settings.

  • Default Photo Editor

I mistakenly made an hp image editor the default photo editor...how do I make it stop! I want to revert to iphoto. I did the same with Firefox as my default browser and would like to revert to Safari. Sorry, I'm an idiot with these machines and would appreciate the help

To change the default photo editor got to iPhoto Menu -> Preferences, General Pane and make your selection at Edit Photo: from the drop down pane.
Similarly, the choice of Default browser is made in the Safari Preferences, General Pane at Default Web Browser.

  • Default Photo Opener

How do I set iPhoto as my default photo opener?

    Herbz
welcome to the Apple user discussion forums
How do I set iPhoto as my default photo opener?
iPhoto is not a photo viewer and can not be the default photo opener - you must import photos into iPhoto before you can operate on them there
By default it is the default camera download program - to change that you go to the iPhoto preferences and set the program you want to open when a camera is connected
To change the default program to open photos right click (control click) on a photo and use the open with command and click to always use use this program option

  • Default photo importing app

How can I change the default photo importing app from iPhoto to LightRoom3?

An easy way is to plug it in and start Image Capture.  Select the camera and the default app is selectable there.

  • I'd like to remove a thin line that is part of the page design in one of Aperture's photo books.  I can't seem to make it happen.  Any suggestions?

I'd like to remove a thin line that is part of the page design in one of Aperture's photo books.  I can't seem to make it happen.  Any suggestions?

The mouse that came with my Mac does not have a right click feature. When I try to highlight and click, it just opens the link I don't want anymore. What I want to do is remove unwanted links from the top bar. For example, I no longer use GoodSearch or myEarthLink, but I can't delete them. There are also some links that never should have found their way up there, and I don't know how they ended up there, and I can't remove them either. I've read through a ton of questions and answers, and I can't find one that addresses the problem. With my Safari browser, all I have to do to remove an unwanted link is to click and drag it to the trash. It doesn't appear to work that way with Firefox, to my chagrin. I hope this better explains my question. Maybe that will give you a better insight into a solution.

  • Photoshop Elements as Default Photo Viewer

I have successfully installed Photoshop Elements 4.0. Now I would like to make it my "default" photo viewer--i.e. when I open a photo, I would like it to be in Photo Shop rather than the previous application, which was the Microsoft Photo viewer that came pre-installed on my computer. I haven't been able to find information in the Adobe help section and FAQs on how to do this. Can anyone help me?

Most people want to know how to keep PSE from being the default viewer. :) Actually, the default viewer is a Windows function and not controlled by Elements, but it's an easy thing to change.
Find one of the image files on your hard drive of the type you want to have open automatically in Elements, e.g. all JPEG files. Right click on the image icon and go to Choose Program to Open. If Elements doesn't show on the list, there is a place at the bottom where you can view other program options. Select PSE 4.0 as the default viewer, and also make sure you choose the option to apply the change to all files of the same type. You'll have to do the same thing for each file format, like PSD, TIFF, etc.
