Aperture go VERY SLOW when

Hi, i've noticed that when i make changes in a photo....after using the zoom tool....aperture go VERY VERY SLOOOOOOW
If i switch again on "master file" aperture come back to go faster
WHY?? it's incredible! i work ONLY with modified photo....and i must go like a turtle? aperture 1.5.6. doesn't have this problem!

Aperture 2 is a Major Disappointment So far.
On a MacPro Quad 3.0, 7GB Ram,1TB storage nearly every adjustment results in:
1. a pause where NOTHING happens 1-2 secs. (if I've clicked in 2 or 3 clicks of saturation or whatever)
2.the BEACH BALL spins 2-10 sec
3. the adjustment clicks in.
The Loupe Tool is UNUSABLE because of the same behavior, only worse.
Aperture is a brilliant program, which I very much want to use. It is not my intent to bash the program,in fact I have been hoping that I've been doing something wrong.
But the more I look, the more similar posts I find.
By way of background, the files I have been editing (with wonderful results) came from an import of 55 files from a Canon 1Ds Mk III -aprox. 25mb each. My total aperture library at this point is only 40 or 50 gigs.
I would be most relieved (and apologetic) if the slowness is due to my ineptitude with the interface.
To that end I have posted here and on APUG. (I initially suspected my 7300 video card was to blame, and would replace it instantly - or add a second one, since the new 8800GT is not backward compatible with my machine)
I haven't yet received any answers to those posts.
If you have an Idea, please don't be shy, the great probability is that you are smarter than I am.
BTW Im running 10.5.2, installed ProApp 1 & 2 ,Graphics, Installed A2 from disk, allowed it to rebuild my 1.5.6 library and didn't install the demo.
Other Photo apps installed include PS CS3, Lightroom,DXO, and they run Perfectly.

zemitch - I also use one of the slowest machines capable of running SL, but my your graphics card may be different than mine. But I also store my masters on an external drive and that wasn't the issue.
I found rebuilding the database of Aperture when starting up helps a bit, but the biggest improvement is to do cropping/straightening AFTER the other adjustments. That changes my workflow, but with no crop/straighten, the other adjustments didn't not show the horrible slowdown.

My performance is very slow when I run graphs. How do I increase the speed at which I can do other things while the data is being updated and displayed on the graphs?

I am doing an an aquisition and displaying the data on graphs. When I run the program it is slow. I think because I have the number of scans to read associated with my scan rate. It takes the number of seconds I want to display on the chart times the scan rate and feeds that into the number of samples to read at a time from the AI read. The problem is that it stalls until the data points are aquired and displayed so I cannot click or change values on the front panel until the updates occur on the graph. What can I do to be able to help this?

It may also be your graphics card. LabVIEW can max the CPU and you
screen may not be refreshing very fast.

The following items or conditions can slow a Mac. Please see if any of them apply:
1) Are you running any anti-virus/internet security applications?
2) Are you running any "cleaning/tune-up/optimizations" applications?
3) Any peer-to-peer or torrent downloading software?
4) Any third-party disk backup software that came bundled with an external hard drive?
5) Any online backup scheme other than iCloud or DropBox (Carbonite; GoogleDrive; MS One Drive)?
6) Did your financial institution ask you to install Trusteer EndPoint Protection (also known as Trusteer Rapport)?
If you can answer "yes" to any of those questions, you have some unneeded and performance-robbing software installed.

Hi All, I have a master detail form, running in webserver, when I navigate to the detail block, the form start buffering and buttering for about 2 min. There is a trigger when-new-record instance that is firing when you navigate to a new record : The select part of this stament is taken a long time to execute. I modified this in toad and what used to take 25 seconds to run is taken less than a second now, but the slowness still persists in the form.

The select staement that used to run for 23 seconds is running in less than one second, but the form is still running very slow when I navigate to the detail record.

Thanks Andrea for your prompt response, the problem is the select statement and like I stated, I tuned the select statement in toad and what normally takes 23 secs is taking less than 1 sec to run. If I comment out the call to the function, it is still slow. The select stament will returned null and it will still be slow. When I comment out the for loop, it run very fast. I dont know what else to do than tuned the select statement.

ITunes is very slow when updating apps

Since a few days iTunes is very slow when updating apps and downloading updates for iPad etc.
Very often a download is ended with the message server reply time to long.
I'm running the latest updated version of iTunes on an iMac mid-2010 with latest OS. I have some 3-4 GB out of 12 GB memory free and 70GB free out of 500 GB storage. I have measured my internet connection speed and it is very good 95-98 Mbit/sec.
I can't see any obvious reason to why iTunes is so slow. Have anyone experienced this? Please help!

Yes! I have the exact same issue. So I tried some things.
I am on Uvese (via wifi) and was trying to update the apps on my PC via itunes. Taking FOREVER. So i tired it directly from my iPhone 6 via wifi - same issue. Then I turned off wifi on the iPhone and updated over (ATT) LTE. That worked great. I am thinking it is a Uverse/ATT issue at this point.

I bought a new faster laptop but when I looked for the cd with the software and serial I could not find it in the Xmas clutter. I downloaded a trial version of lightroom and got it working on my new laptop. Is there a way to access the serial number from my previously installed version and insert it into the trail version to make it work for me?

While i registered all my cs2 thru 6 versions and my lightroom 2 thru 4 versions and recorded the serials and saved the adobe registration emails. Since this came as a freebee with the camera i neglected this vital step. I have the instslled version on my old laptop but want to install it on my new one. Thanks to Jim Hess I got the serial so all is well in my world and I will register it with ADOBE

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

InDesign CC 2014 is very very slow when working with a table. Every 1/2 - 1 hour it nearly falls back, impossible to work with. While this project must be finshed quite soon..
What the hell is the matter with this Creative Cloud. I havea very fast iMac form 2014. I closed all other programmes, even cannot listen to music now. More people with this problem??

@Martien – How complex is your table?
How many cells? Merged ones as well?
Complex formatting of texts inside the cells?
Complex formatting rules of table rows and/or columns?
Many images inserted?
If yes, and the table is running through many text frames of many pages, I fear, you can do nothing against slowness.
Nothing but: Greek text, not showing the page contents in the Pages Panel, in short: anything you can do to get better performance in redrawing of the screen.
If you have the chance to break up one big table in several parts, do that and edit its parts one after another isolated. Pehaps in different documents.
Then merge the parts in one table, if you want to flow it from page to page.

are you saying that when you connect your MacBook Pro to a monitor, your Internet connection slows down, but when you disconnect the monitor, it speeds up again, and that this is reproducible from one day to another?
Does this happen both under OS X and under Windows 7, or only under one of them?
How are you currently connecting your MacBook Pro to your monitor?
