Aperture/ Mac OS Raw update for Nikon d3x

How long do these take now? Weeks or months?

It varies.
Why, you have a D3X now? If your income depends on it, you may want to keep your current camera around in the meantime.

  • Camera RAW update for Nikon D3300

I recently purchased the Nikon D3300 - I use PS CS5.1 and do not plan on upgrading right now -  problem is that it won't open RAW files for the D3300 and I can't seem to find the correct update for Camera RAW to be able to process them  - anyone have a link for the correct upgrade ?

There is no update. You can only use the free DNG converter. That's just the nature of the thing: New camera = new Raw format = new version of ACR required = newer version of PS.

  • HT1338 Camera RAW update for Nikon D4s

Do you know when would the next MacOS Camera RAW update? Right now 10.9.2 cannot open the Nikon D4s RAW.

No, the standard RAW still not working in OS X 10.9.2
    (1) If by "the standard RAW" you mean none of the the RAW format combinations (such as those described on page 95 of your camera's User Guide Manual), there  may be something wrong with your 10.9.2 install because at least one should work.
     • Restart Mac.
     • Use Mac's Disk Utility in Finder > Go > Utilities folder to repair permissions.
     • Reinstall OS X Mavericks.
     • Repair permissions again immediately following the restart
           that finishes the reinstall.
     • Check whether any of the older D4 RAW file formats is now useable.
    (2) If all else fails, pending Apple's update you can choose one of Nikon's options as described on:
page 91 of your camera's User Guide Manual (in part):
NEF (RAW) images can be viewed on the camera or using software such as Capture NX 2 (available separately;) or ViewNX 2 (available on the supplied ViewNX 2 installer CD). JPEG copies of NEF (RAW) images can be created using the NEF (RAW) processing option in the retouch menu.
If you choose the ViewNX 2 option, be sure you are using the version that supports the D4S.  As explained on page 269 of your camera's User Guide Manual, earlier versions that do not support the D4S may fail to transfer NEF (RAW) images correctly.

  • Camera Raw Update for Nikon D610???

Am new to Photoshop CS6.  Just got a new camera, the Nikon D610 and now see that Camera Raw does not support the 610.  What do I do?  Is there an update?
    Thank you.

Yes, it is more than 'a bit tricky' for D600 owners.  We have two in my camera club, plus others we know about among PSNZ members.  One buddy's camera has been back to Nikon so many times it can find its own way in the dark!  She has had a D610 replacement for a while now.
All DSLRs accumalate sensor spots over time.  My 1DsMK3 is a terror for it.  I usually work carrying both the 1DsMK3 with 24-70mm f2.8L, and a 1DMK4 with 70-200mm f2.8L IS, so don't have to change lenses on the big sensor camera.  But I can still recon on having to clean both cameras after a long weekend gig.
I rarely need to wet clean though, although I did when the cameras were new because of grease and oil from the mirror hinges.  My secret weapon nowadays is an illuminated loupe so I can see where the dust is.  Then I just fish it out with an Arctic Butterfly static brush thingie.
There was a great YouTube video for the D600 where he left it with an interval timer running, so it took a lot of shots without actually doing anything.  He put the exposures together in a time lapse, and you could see the spots build before your eyes.

  • Camera raw update for d7100

How do I get the camera raw update for Nikon d7100 in mac version of cs5? I can get the dng download on my desktop but don't know how to move it into Photoshop.

    You don't.
The D7100 was first supported in Camera Raw 7.4

Camera Raw 7.4 will only work in CS6 and above.

You either upgrade to CS6 or join the Cloud and get CC.
Or convert to DNG and edit the DNGs in CS5

  • Does Aperture support NEF RAW files for the Nikon D810?

I am unable to open NEF RAW files for my new Nikon D810.  Are there any updates of suggestions.

Apple has not yet reverse-engineered a RAW update for the d810. I would suggest that you shoot RAW +JPEG with all your NEF images on the CF card and put your JPEG optimal fine images on the SD card in slot 2. Save your NEF images and CF cards until the Aperture 3.5.1 RAW update for the d810 finally is available. In the meantime, you will have JPEG optimal images on your SD cards that you can import and process in Aperture. Good Luck.

  • When it will be the camera raw update for the nikon d750 in Lightroom 4?

When it will be the camera raw update for the nikon d750 in Lightroom 4?

Never. You'll need to upgrade to Lr 5.7, or convert your D750 files to DNG for Lr 4 to use.
As a site search would amply have indicated.

  • Is there a CS5 camera raw update for the Nikon D600?

is there a CS5 camera raw update for the Nikon D600

Not as yet. ACR 7.2 does have preliminary support for D600. Output may change in final release of D600 support in upcoming ACR 7.3.
    http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2012/10/camera-raw-7-2now-available.html
ACR 7.3 will have complete support for D600.
But, if you're on CS5, I'm sorry to break it you cannot upgrade to ACR 7.x...
You may want to consider upgrading to CS6 or Lightroom 4 (cheaper alternative) to get ACR 7.x support.
Or, use the DNG converter, make TIFFs and open them with PS.

  • So... how long do we have to wait for a RAW update for the Nikon D600 camera?

So... how long do we have to wait for a RAW update for the Nikon D600 camera?

Adobe releases Camera Raw every 3 or 4 months. The D600 itself was launched only about 1 week ago. I'm sure its not included in ACR 7.2 RC yet. Nikon J1 is included though. I guess you're gona have to wait for it. Maybe 7.2 final release will have it or 7.3 should. Adobe employees/ product team will not commit to a time for Camera Raw releases.
However, you can use the software Nikon would've given you to convert your images as TIFF and import them into Lightroom/ Photoshop if you're in a hurry. It would be nice if your camera supports DNG conversion out of the box! This way, you wont need a Camera Raw from Adobe.
Anyway, you could file a 'Feature Request' to Adobe here: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
    Good luck.

  • Need RAW/NEF updates for Nikon D7100 on my Photoshop element 9

Need RAW/NEF for Nikon D7100 updates for Photoshop element 9

There are no updates to PSE9 that handle D7100 RAW photos.
    You need to either:
Donwload and use the free Adobe DNG converter version 7.4 or 8.1 to converte your RAWs to DNG, which you can use in PSE9
Use the camera manufacturer's software to convert the RAWs to TIF
    Purchase PSE11

  • When will Aperture update for Nikon D810?

When will Aperture update for Nikon D810?

Must have been some older pasts as Aperture is going away.
Surely they aren't jumping to Aperture now knowing this...
    Yes !
Many are opposed to the monthly subscription fees.  I recently purchased Aperture knowing it will be discontinued.  I weighed all the alternatives and Aperture still seem the best.  Apple has said it will be updated for Yosemite (if necessary). That gives it at least 3 years of usability.
Moreover, iPhoto is also being discontinued.  Because iPhoto and Aperture use the same file structure I am hoping that the new “Photos” program will be an easy transition.   My two MUST HAVE requirements is the ability to disable Faces and display Keywords under the thumbnail's.

  • Brushes not working with new RAW conversion for Nikon D7000

I have always worked with RAW files w/A2 & A3.1.1 with my Nikon (D80) And now, just got Nikon's D7000 and of course, waited for the RAW conversion that just came out.
Apple addressed the Nikon D7000 RAW situation (which was fixed this month), but now when I use "brushes" on RAW pics, very little if any changes occur.
Very little affect occurs (if any) with A3.1.1 and the "new" RAW conversion for Nikon. I shot (at the same time) both RAW and JPEG (as cameras can) and put them side by side in A3. Pulled down Dodge / Burn / Skin Smoothing & Blur from brushes and they all did a great job. But on the RAW pic that was taken at the same time..... nada, nothing (maybe a minute change, but nothing to call home about).
Bottom line, the newest RAW capability that came out a couple of weeks ago, somehow messed up brushes? I don't think I am that smart or lucky to see this issue. Am I missing something here? If so, please set me straight.
I have tried the places one pulls down brushes but no affect on RAW. Using curves from bricks and luminance, etc, works just fine. Guess I am stuck with JPEG's until this is resolved by our A3 guys, or someone realigns me.

I am able to import them, but I cannot edit them as RAW files. They behave like .jpegs. So correcting exposure for example is a horrible experience. My 5D Mark II files behave as they did in Aperture, so it is the FZ1000 RAWs in particular that are problematic.
