Aperture no longer publishing to Mobile Me gallery

I was publishing 3 large albums to Mobile Me galleries. The first one published correctly, but the last two did not. The last two show up in the sidebar as Mobile Me galleries, but they are not showing up on the website. When I click the "MobileMe Gallery" button for these two, they both say they are not published. I click on "publish now", the wheel spins, but they are not actually published. I can publish from iPhoto, so I know it's not Mobile Me that is the problem.
I have rebuilt my library and deleted my Aperture prefs...I also reset my master sync. Anyone have any ideas? This is incredibly frustrating!!

After 3 MobileMe support chats and a call to Aperture support, we finally figured out what the issue was. Apparetnly I had at least on picture that was "damaged" in my gallery, and according to tech support, that will prevent ANY pictures from uploading to MobileMe.
There is no way to know exactly which pictures are damaged, or what the damage is, but the solution was to export them as masters, and then re-import them. This fixed the problem and I can now upload the gallery to MobileMe.
It would have been nice if Aperture could have at least generated an error message, or better yet, tell me which pics were causing the problem.

  • Project published to Mobile Me Gallery, can I change the icon image?

I there a way to pick a "key frame" for an iMovie projec I have published to Mobile Me in the same way one can pick a "key photo" for a photo gallery published to Mobile Me? For example, I'd like to like those that visit my Mobile Me gallery to see the name of the fictitious movie from my movie trailers as the icon, rather than a random frame from the trailer itself. I've been hunting around, but i can't seem to find a way to do this, Thanks.

    Hi there
Well, this is a yes and no answer.
Yes, you could change an icon, But no, RoboHelp won't make it easy. What you will end up doing is massaging the JavaScript code for the WebHelp output. This particular change isn't really for the faint of heart. Oh, and you would likely have to change it each time you generate your WebHelp output.
I would encourage you (and others) to consider submitting a Wish Form to ask Adobe to put this on their radar for a future version.

  • Cannot publish to Mobile Me Gallery

I am unable to update a MobileMe gallery using iPhoto9. I have an iMac G5 and I'm running iPhoto 9 and OS x 10.5.6.. Prior to upgrading to iPhoto 9 I published several galleries to MobileMe. I just attempted to upload another photo to one of the galleries and iPhoto generated this message: "An error message occurred with publication of album "Puget Sound."Your MobileMe account information is not correct. The provided login or password is not valid."
Working online with MobileMe support via chat, we verified that my username and password were correct. We deleted keychain entries for .Mac passwords, restarted and attempted to upload to the gallery again. The error persisted. I am able to access to the galleries via www.me.com. I then created a new user account and was able to publish a photo to a new library. From that, MobileMe support determined that the error was a "User Issue associated with the operating system (10.5.6)". They referred me to apple care telephone support. Apple telephone support would not tackle the issue without charging me $50 as my phone support and warranty expired long ago. So, here I am.
This error is occurring under the admin account on my iMac G5. I have repaired permissions. I logon, launch iphoto, drag a photo to the gallery I want to update, and then the error message is generated stating that my username and password are not correct on Mobile Me. I've verified that I am logged on to mobile me through system preferences. I actually logged out and logged back in using the same username and password which are accepted. I then relaunch iPhoto and try to update the gallery and still get the error message.
I've searched the discussion groups but have not found an answer. Your assistance in troubleshooting/resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Bill

Go to the System/MobileMe preference pane, log out, log in with a bogus name and password (this clears the name and password cache) and log in with the correct MMe account name and password. Then try again.

  • Mobile me gallery vs Aperture 3 -- incompatible?

My Mobile Me gallery worked perfectly in Aperture 2. I upgraded to Aperture 3 and about 20% of my gallery images got deleted and the remaining ones appeared in a random order. I am rebuilding the galleries now, but the process is VERY annoying (not to mention the time and effort needed to select from ten thousand images). The order of the images keep changing; when I try to rearrange then, some stay in their desired positions while others jump around. Although my update preference is set to "manual", Aperture keeps updating every 30 seconds or so, slowing down work significantly. My final grudge is that some of the images that appear in the published gallery are not the same as the ones I chose to create the gallery. It appears that Aperture 3 is full of bugs ... Any advice?

Aperture does not have bugs any more, at least that is what some folk would have you believe.
If you have just installed Ap3. It needs quite a long time to do all that it has to, to finish fully, and depending mostly on the library size, it could take a couple of days to several to finish. It is best left to get on with it. If this is not the problem then i have no other ideas. Allan

  • Aperture 3.1: Adding watermark by uploading pictures to Mobile Me gallery.

    Hi,
In the "Image Export" presets there is an option to ad a watermarkt on the picture.
Is there any way to add a watermark when uploading pictures to the Mobile Me Gallery, using the Mobile me button??
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Jos

Apple did seem to drop the ball on this one. There is no way from within Aperture to add a watermark to an image set to Facebook, Flickr or MobileMe. This is a highly requested feature so add add your voice to the crowd requesting this by going to [Apple Aperture Feedback|http://www.apple.com/feedback/aperture.html]

  • Mobile Me Gallery Login & Password using Aperture

I recently migrated my entire iPhoto library to Aperture and I have a few questions.
    1. How can I tell if an Album in Aperture is a Mobile Me Album?
    2. Where can I find the Username and Password info. for each of my already existing Mobile Me Albums?
    3. In iPhoto I seem to remember an easy way to Invite someone to view an album with a Username and Password but I don't see that in Aperture. Does this exist?
    Thanks!

Hen you migrate, all your Mobile Me albums turn into regular albums. To make them Mobile Me albums again, select the album and pick File>New>MobileMe album. It's going to ask you if you just want one photo, you should pick all.
Afterwards, you will be disappointed with how Aperture handles updates to your Mobile Me albums. Also, you will be creating an entirely new MobileMe album because I have yet to figure out how to migrate MobileMe albums to Aperture.

  • IWeb and Mobile Me gallery?

I am using iWeb to create my web site but publishing my photos from iPhoto to the mobile me gallery. In iWeb I am using the Black theme where it puts the main links to the different pages across the top. I would like to add a link there that goes to the gallery.me.com page. how do I do this??
    Thanks for the help.

iWeb: you don't need to save anything from the iDisk - iWeb does not open html files. Your iWeb sites are held in (user)/Library/Application Support/iWeb in a file called Domain. So even after MobileMe terminates you will still be able to open iWeb and see your sites, you just won't be able to publish them to MobileMe. You can publish them to any other webspace - please see this page:
    http://rfwilmut.net/migrate2
Gallery: if your albums arre synced with iPhoto or Aperture then the pictures are on your Mac anyway. If not, and you don't have local copies (which is always a risky procedure) you will have to download each picture separately. Alternatively there is an online photo gallery service called ZangZing which provides an easy import facility from various other services including MobileMe's Gallery. It's free until June 2012 after which the first 2GB is free with escalating price levels starting at $5 per month or $50 a year.

  • Formating the Mobile Me gallery window place holder

Is there a way to format the Mobile Me gallery window place holders? Specifically, remove the white title bar at the bottom of the window when they appear in the published site?
I would like to ad these galleries but I don't want the title at the bottom to show up. I don't want to use the album style picture placeholders because I want to be able to email the pics.

Is it the tell a friend email link that you're referring to? Can you click on the gallery link in iPhoto and get to it online? The link will contain numbers as the folder for the gallery is identified by a 6 digit number.
If it's the link in the email that gets created by the tell a friend that you're referring to you might post in the Mail forum also.
All I can think to do is go to iPhoto/Gallery preference pane and stop publishing. Then republish and see if you can get the email link to work.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Deleting pics in mobile me gallery deletes image in project

I dont believe it, i just came across ANOTHER aperture 3 bug:
i had some images imported in my importing project
i made a mobile me gallery out of it.
in the library on the left, i selected the mobile me gallery to delete some pictures from this gallery because i did not want them published.
i click on the PROJECT (where all files should be stored regardless what i deleted from the mobile me gallery) to find that those images i deleted from the gallery are in the bin, they are not in the project anymore!
    another fatal bug......

Please Control-click (or right-click) on any image in a MobileMe Gallery to see the options that are available, which include Delete Version and Remove from Album. If you choose Delete Version you should see the warning without having to actually proceed to delete anything. The options are the same as with any album.
I never use the Delete key for any of this, but I will test as time allows -- apparently, based upon your experience, it is the same as Delete Version, but as to lack of warning, I will have to test. I would never assume the Delete key is the same as Remove from Album, which is the needed command.

  • I can no longer publish my ICal work calendar

Just updated to the new calendar in mobile me but it deleted all previous calendars that were on my iCal app on desktop computer.  Fixed that with apple's help, but can no longer publish new calendar updates that are created on home desk top computer/ical (not mobile me).  The radio beacon is no longer present on the work calendar that has been published for 5 years and in the tool bar under Calendar "published" is not able to be selected.  I have 81 mb of my iDisk being used and over 9 gb of free space.  Any help/ideas out there.  Thank you.

This is odd: I have no trouble doing this. However I'm on Snow Leopard, so I don't know what difference Leopard makes.
When Apple sorted out your initial problem with the calendars after the upgrade, are you sure they didn't land you with MobileMe calendars? The new calendars live on MobileMe and Leopard can read them and display them in your iCal - I don't know whether it lists them under your MobileMe login name as Snow Leopard does.
Try this: create a new calendar and make sure that it's 'On My Mac'. Add a single event to it just so that there is something there. Can you publish this? If so, then the other calendars probably are on MobileMe and need to be transferred back to your Mac (from where they won't sync with MobileMe).
This is the procedure for shifting calendars back to 'On My Mac':
Select a calendar listed under your MobileMe login name.
From the File menu choose Export...>Export. An .ics file will be saved at your designated destination.
Create a new calendar with the same name as the one you've just exported from, choosing 'On My Mac'.
From the File menu choose Import... Select the .ics file and choose to import it into the calendar you just created (make sure you don't import it into the MobileMe version).
When complete, check that it's OK and then you can delete the MobileMe version.
Repeat for other calendars. I should keep the .ics files for a bit as a safety until you are quite sure everything is correct.

  • Problem using email to upload image files to Mobile Me gallery

I will cross post this question to both Mail and Mobile Me discussion groups because I don't know where my problem lies.
I have published a gallery page from iPhoto to my Mobile Me gallery. There are two ways to upload additional photos. I am not having trouble adding image files with the Upload feature. I cannot get the email function to work. The emails I send to the email address for the gallery bounce back to my mail inbox.
Subject: Delivery Notification: Delivery has failed
and in the body of the bounced email:
    Recipient address: [email protected]
Reason: SMTP transmission failure has occurred
Diagnostic code: smtp;521 5.2.1 Fatal failure of WOA
Remote system: dns;post.mac.com (TCP|10.150.69.91|51195|10.13.19.27|25) (mbin002.mac.com ESMTP [2.3.3/gso-r197-19Feb2007] ready to rumble)

One of the images I am trying to attach is a jpeg file of 61 kb.
I have tried to drag the image from my desktop to the body of the email. I have tried using the "attach" function and selecting the file name. I am not sending any text with these files.
When I built these albums, I checked and enabled all the options.
I am having this same issue when I try to upload via email to any of my Mobile Me gallery pages.
There is currently one photo displayed here:
    http://gallery.me.com/tplattenberger#100352
If anyone wishes to try to upload to that gallery using email (Send to Album) that would be great and if successful, that might provide a clue to my problem.
As I say, I currently have one photo there. If you find a lot more, please do not add.
    What's the problem?
    Tom

The images I am trying are newly created and old.
    A weird hint perhaps...
I just copied an image from Apple's home page and pasted it into the email and tried again...
    it worked.
So I tried again, dragging from iPhoto and it did not work... the email bounced back.
So I tried again, this time using copy and paste (like I did from Apple's page) from iPhoto... it did not work.

  • Mobile Me gallery sorting issue

I recently upgraded iLife from '08 to '09. I am having an issue when I publish and event to my Mobile Me Gallery where its not sorting the photos correctly in the gallery. They don't seem to sorted the same way as I have them in the event when I publish them to the mobile me gallery, its not doing it every time just sometimes. I know I can go into the published gallery within iPhoto and go to view > sort and change it in there but it seems strange that I would have to do that. Why wouldn't it publish the same way as I have them sorted in the event. It also seems that sometimes when I do resort them in the gallery that it doesn't stay. Also is there a way to set the default setting to sort a certain way? Thanks.

I am having similar problems, also in reordering multiple galleries in iPhoto.
try leaving feedback for Apple at http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html to make them aware of the issues. Maybe they will fix this in a future update. it did work in iPhoto '08 after all.

  • "Mobile me" gallery sorting

    Hey guys,
Two problems with Aperture 3 :
    1) Impossible to sort "mobile me" gallery by name : it always comes back in weird orders...
    2) Aperture 3 keeps freezing when I try to close it, forcing me to "force quit" it. Then, other problem emerged, like my iphone wouldn't get all the pictures of my librairies when syncronizing. I tried to "repair" it by cmd+option, and then, it made me a separate file "recovered project" with like 200 pictures in it — which I still have in my initial file, but as "copies" : if I delete the "recovered project", those will miss the "original" file...
Any idea of a solution, or should I just export my 6 000 pics library to reimport it with a clean install — with the "store file in their current location" option checked ?
    thanks !

  • Mobile me gallery and stacks

When I drag a stack pick to a mobile me gallery the entire stack shows up in the gallery and none of the pictures in the stack are selected as the stack pick. Once I have all my pictures in the mobile me gallery I have to go back and re-select the picture in each stack I want published.
Is there a way to drag the stack pick from an album to a mobile me gallery without having to go back and re-selecting the stack pick
    Thanks

Not that I am aware of. I drag the pic to the mobileme gallery. Then click on the version I want to display in the gallery, and "shift-\" to make that image the "album" pick. This keeps my project "stack" pick intact. Every album or gallery can have their own picks, designated by the check-mark on the thumbnail.
Would be nice if the album pick was designated by which version is dragged to the album, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

  • Slideshow on mobile me gallery

What is the easiest way to post a slideshow (with itunes music) on my mobile me gallery?

    Roger:
Here's how to easily get a slideshow (one converted to a QT movie) online to be viewed:
1 - export the slideshow via the File->Export->Slideshow. Select either Medium or Large for the size.
2 - import that QT movie file into iPhoto.
3 - create an album and add the QT movie
4 - select that album and click on the MobileMe button in the lower toolbar of iPhoto. If it's not there go to View->Toolbar and select MobileMe.
5 - select the options in the drop down window in iPhoto and hit the Publish button.
That's it. Once the gallery is published you'll get a URL for it and can send that URL to those who you want to view it.
If you would like to have multiple sizes in the gallery for access by computers and cell phones import the QT movie into iMovie and export it to MobileMe. You'll get a MMe gallery with up to 4 sizes like this one:iMovie to MMe Gallery.
