Aperture not applying keywords to all selected images

OK, so I've been categorizing for a couple of days now, and everything's going fine. I'm going through around 200gb of files, applying keywords to each one.
Today, I opened Aperture and tried to start where I left off. I selected a bunch of files and dragged a keyword from the Keyword HUD to the selection, just as I've been doing all along. For some reason, today Aperture only applies the keyword to the image I'm on when I release the mouse, not the others in the selection.
Any clue what's going on here?

Sync... in LR5 not syncing settings to all selected images

I upgraded to LR5 as soon as it became available. My general workflow - when I start work on a new set of images (we are talking 150ish Canon 5d Mk3 .CR2 files), I start with setting white balance, syncing this to all images in the set, then adjust the entire set for a baseline exposure correction. So I adjust on one image, Ctrl-A to select all, hit the Sync... button, make sure Exposure is the only checked box, and hit the Synchronize button. Since LR5 I have noticed that when syncing the exposure value to all images in this way, sometimes one of the images doesn't get the exposure adjustment - so I go through them one by one and sometimes find 1-2 images still with their Exposure value set at 0.00
Its not a major hassle, as I do go though the images one by one making minor exposure corrections (which is how I found this bug) - but thought I'd raise it here to see if anyone else has seen this?
I have been using LR since 1.2 and never seen this issue until LR5. Installed on my Windows 7 x64 desktop (8GB RAM, Core i7 2600K processor @ 4.6GHz, SSD system drive and 60GB SSD cache on LR Catalog RAID1 array - lightning fast!).
As a side note - I do find LR5 far more responsive than 4.3 when moving from one image to the next - sliders accessible much faster - has made my workflow far more efficient. Good job Adobe - now go fix the bugs!! ;o)

Metadata changes not applied to all selected images

I am having 2 problems.
When I am in lightroom's library (3.5), I would like to change the time of capture for multiple photos, and apply keywords.
However, when I perform either of those actions, the changes are only applied to the image shown in the "more brightly highlighted" image, not all that are selected.
Is there a setting I am missing? I just cannot seem to figure out why this is not working.
Also, I aplogize if my searching skills are weak and this has been covered already. I did attempt to see if this question has been answered before posting.

You need to be in Grid view to apply metadata to all selected images, otherwise LR will only apply it to the image shown in the main area. Alternatively, you can swith on AutoSync in Library.

Applying keywords to groups of images

I'm having difficulty applying Keywords to groups of images. When I select a group of images in the browser and drag a keyword from the HUD over them, the keyword is only applied to the image onto which it was directly dropped. I'm sure that in the past I've been able to apply a keword to any number of images at once using this technique. What's the obvious thing that I'm doing wrong here?

Problems with impromptu slideshow in lightroom 5, functions such as flagging, rating not applying to all selected images?

I'm using windows lightroom 5 and have just started to learn the programme. I am using adobe photoshop lightroom 5 classroom in a book which is an official training workbook from Adobe so you'd think the instructions would work for the lessons but they don't. Is anyone else having problems getting ratings, flagging, colour labels to apply to selected images. Also the esc button doesn't take me back to the main working screen. Any ideas?

Problem applying keywords to a selection of images

I've tried applying keywords to multiple images as described in the aperture manual but it doesn't work for me. When I drag keywords from the keyword HUD to a selection of images only the first image will contain the keyword when I check it. I get the same result when typing in the keyword menu at the bottom right of the screen.
I don't want to use the batch change dialogue because this erases all other keyword content before applying the new keywords. This is really annoying, any ideas?

No, I've just done the same thing a few times and took me a bit to figure out. Being able to toggle this on and off is helpful if say you're adding a bunch of keywords to a selected, and one or two need tags specific to them, then you toggle this on, drop the keywords they need, then toggle off and finish tagging them all with other keywords.

Not all selected images open in photoshop

I have lightroom 3 and cs5. When I select images from lightroom and open in photoshop sometimes not all of the selected images open. It might miss a random image or 2 or 3. All the images are clearly highlighted to open and lightroom confirms the correct amount with "selected images". Obviously driving me mad as I have to go back and try to figure out which image is missing from say 20 or 30 images.
Any ideas greatly appreciated

I don't think this has to do with bottlenecks, looks more like a bug. The files that won't open, are for some reason scattered, not for example the last 5 chosen or last 5 in the grid. I rebuilt and optimised the cat. several times, and always work with just LR3 and PS CS5 running, so no other progs are hogging the system resources.
I'm finding LR3 very frustrating and despite the new features are great, it is more buggy and unpredictable than LR2.
Are you all using the latest 3.2 RC? There was a bug in LR3 where files with an '&' in the file/foldername (or a few other characters) would not open in Photoshop. That has been cured in 3.2RC.

Aperture apply keywords to multiple selections

I cannot apply a keyword to more than one image at a time.
I select multiple images and drag a keyword to one of the images expecting it to be applied to all of them (as it has in the past) but it only gets applied to one.
Did I set something to prevent multiple updates?

Here's how I do it.
Goto Window Menu, then Show Control Bar.
Again Window Menu, then Show Keyword Controls.
This places a set of buttons along the bottom control bar with the keywords I set up in the keyword HUD. It has a pull-down menu within it to select different groups of keywords depending again on how you set it up. Select multiple images, call up the grouping you need and click the buttons. All the images get keyworded.

"Reset All" not working on all selected images

I had to reinstall Windows this week, and thus also Lightroom.
Now when I select a group of images and in the develop module, take an action, such as applying a preset, resetting all, or clearing history, it only performs the action on a single active image, not on all the rest of the selected images. How can I correct this?

I don't quit understand what you are doing as "Clear History" is NOT under the sync settings dialog. You can just select multiple photos and use develop/clear history on the menu and it will ask if you what to apply to "selected photos" or "active photo". When using Auto-Sync, be careful to turn it back off when you are done needing it because it can REALLY REALLY cause accidental photo edits. This is from painful personal experience.

Lightroom 5.7 not applying watermark to all images

I am having an issue with Lightroom not applying my text watermark to all of my images. It seems to happen randomly. Some of the time it works and others it does not. I have tried checking for updates and there are none available. Is anyone else having this issue? Any ideas on how to fix?

First off I ask why you want a watermark on All Images. I only apply a watermark to images I post online in public galleries. What if you want to Print an image for display on your own home/office wall, do you still want to see a watermark on that image (I wouldn't)?

Applying keywords to a selection?

In 1.01 I could select a number of photos, open the keyword HUD, then drag a keyword from the HUD to one of the selected images. All the images would then receive the keyword.
Now, in 1.1 when I try this, only the image that I drag the keyword to gets the keyword? This this functionality change? How can I apply a keyword to a selection of images?

HT4101 I discovered a fatal flaw in the iPad procedure for downloading images from camera to iPad: after selecting the images to be downloaded, an accidental touch of the "delete" button, wipes all selected images from the camera, with no warning?

After downloading some 60 images from camera to iPad, I was "scrolling" down to select the last images, and inadvertently touched the "Delete" button that appears at the top right of the screen, when the "Select" option is chosen. I did not notice the warning "Delete 60 Images?", and continued scrolling down, when my finger touched the warning message. All my precious images were instantly deleted from the camera The sensitive touch screen feature makes this a real problem. Apple should "fix" this unacceptable feature, surely! I suggest that the images on the camera memory card should not be able to be deleted from the iPad, and this shpuld require to be done using the camera controls only. Similarly, the "Delete" or "Keep" options that appear after importing a selection from the camera, should NOT allow the images on rthe camera to be deleted, but only the imported (downloaded) images on the iPad. This unnecessary option could easily delete precious images from the camera!
Apple should remove the option to delete images from the camera, and the iPad touch screen commands should olny delete images on the iPad. (Alternatively, the "delete option should be on a separatly accessed "page".)

No, I don't agree. Whenever you connect a camera to a computer you are given the opportunity to delete the photos on the camera after downloading in precisely the same way the iPad does this. The fact that you touched Delete and then ignored the Warning doesn't change anything.
I've loaded thousands of photos on my IPad and never have had that problem.

I've set up a smart album that contains images with a particular keyword. The smart album contains family pictures and I use it for my screensaver. I've done this for several years without incident.
Today, I noticed that the album only contained about six images (instead of the hundreds it previously contained). Baffled, I looked to see if the images that used to be in the smart album, but no longer were, still have the magic keyword. They do. If I add the keyword to an image again, it will be included in the smart album. However, there are hundreds of images with the keyword that the smart album is not picking up.
I'm running Ap3 with all updates.
Have any of you experienced this? I've repaired the library to no avail, and I'm currently rebuilding the library. Any other ideas?

I have had this happen. And, while I'm not sure why it happens, I've found that if you select "text" from within the smart album filter and enter your magic keyword, all works as it should. Totally baffled by the why's behind this issue.
