Aperture not saving photos

Suddenly Aperture is not saving imported files. I am importing them as I always do, and saving them into the "aperture library", but as soon as the application closes, the photos (and any associated albums) are gone. This just started happening about 1 month ago, and was working fine up until then. Ihave not upgraded to Snow Leopard yet, so its not associated with that.

Make sure you are not running out of storage space.
Backup, trash your prefs, and repair your Library.

Nokia 1520 not saving photos

Is anyone else having issues with thier 1520 randomly not saving pictures when using Nokia Camera for default photo app. For some reason my camera is now frequently not saving the photos. A camera reset works, but then in a few hours it stops saving again for no apparent reason. Kind of sick of having to always do camera resets and then lossing my photos.

No such issues here. Happily clicking away and saving everything. You could if you want, try a reset and failing that, perhaps there may be an issue with the memory which would probably require a trip to your local Nokia Care Point. Alternatively, you may also consider bringing it back to thge retailer for a replacement.

N79 not saving photos?

Hi, recently updated my n79 and now it will not save any pictures that I take (at least not that I can find). Has anyone any idea what is happening? The camera etc work as normal, but when you go to view the pictures you have taken they are nowhere to be found

If you don't see them then your camera is not saving them. If you see them then your camera is saving them but for some reason they are showing in your photo browser.

Iphoto 11 Not saving photo edits

Iphoto Version 9.4.3
OSX 10.7.5, Build 11G63, Serial # W872101JVUX
3 GB SDRAM
Have had many problems since switching to Iphoto 11, this is just the latest. This week I added 5 Jpeg photo's to a library and edited them. When I finished I returned to the library and noticed they didn't look as good as they had while editing them. I returned to editing in the info section and indeed it looked like most of the editing had not been saved. I then moved to the editing section and the photo's still looked bad but after 5 -10 seconds the edits reappeared and the photo's looked as good as I expected. I then returned to the library (saving the edits) and again they look bad. These photo's were scanned to a desktop folder then imported to an iphoto library from there as is my normal procedure. I have used all the "Rebuild Library" choices which did not help. I do not ever make any changes to the libraries except through Iphoto.
I would like to concentrate on this problem now of course, but just for your information the other main problem I have fairly often is very slow editing with spinning balls. This is usually made acceptable by spending a lot of time "Rebuilding Library". I thought about reinstalling Iphoto but 9.4.3 is no longer available through the app store where I purchased it and my computer cannot upgrade any further.
I'm almost hoping that you tell me my computer isn't adequate and this will solve my problems as at least I can stop fighting with Iphoto. I will also say that otherwise the computer works fine and I have no problems with other programs.

As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

GPS data in Aperture not saved to files

I have been using Aperture for a while and love it! Recently I purchased a DSLR and upon importing into Aperture, I manually added the locations to the files. Whenever I view the places feature for my library, I can see pins on the map so I know its been saved correctly.
When I imported the files, I ensured the import was "file system" and so hopefully Aperture doesnt save it into it's own library.
Unfortuantely, when I try and view the EVIF GPS data in Photoshop for these files, the GPS value is empty. If I manually export the file, the data is there, but somehow the files are smaller in file size (even though I chose JPEG Original Size).
Is there a way for me to make GPS changes in Aperture and for it to be automatically saved to the actual file instead of me going through the process of exporting it?

Aperture does write the GPS data only to the versions, when you are assigning a place, not to the EXIF tags of the original files.
So you will need to export the edited version to write the GPS to an image file.
If I manually export the file, the data is there, but somehow the files are smaller in file size (even though I chose JPEG Original Size).
"JPEG Original Size" refers to the pixel size, not the file size. You could try to increase the image quality settings in the "JPEG Original Size" export preset. Select this preset in the export panel and then switch to "Edit". This will allow you to increase the "image Quality" by adjusting the slider. Or select a "Tiff" preset, to export losslessly.
Another work-around would be to use exiftool to set the GPS tags on your originals, if you are experienced with the Terminal (see: Modifying EXIF tags of Originals Using exiftool: camera, lens, gps)
I usually do the geocoding before importing the image files to Aperture with Jetphoto Studio, but that is not a free application.

IPhone 3Gs not saving photos.

I have an iPhone 3Gs, and recently upgraded it to iOS5. All my photos have disappeared from the phone and the camera no longer saves the photos to the phone. In addition, the battery life is now very poor. I've switched off everything I do not use, including iCloud, but even without using the phone the battery is flat within 12 hours. Ant ideas out there for fixing these problems? Thanks.

If the Photos application returns to the main screen when opened, how do you know if photos captured by the iPhone aren't saved in the Camera Roll?
Any change after powering your iPhone off and on, and/or after a reset which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release?

IPhoto 6.06 not saving photos from my iPhone 4

My iPhoto has always organized my photographs by year. I connect my iPhone, download the pictures and they appear on iPhoto. But something happened in 2012. iPhoto will download the photos into the 'last roll' folder but then will not save them after that. The next time I download pictures, it will erase the previous photos and start afresh. Any ideas on what's going on?

"Last Roll" is a shortcut to the most recent Roll you have imported. Next import, that changes as the new import is the most recent one.
If the Photos are in Last Roll then they are in the Library somehwere. They have to be. Usually, it means that they are not where you expect them to be. Check out your sorting options in the view menu.

Camera not saving photos correctly

I can take photos with my camera but in the corner where the photo taken shows up, it shows loading bars like it's trying to do something with the photo. When I click there or try to open the photos taken on any of the apps to open photos, it starts loading indefinitely with a black background. Those photos also don't open in the computer. It's like the camera is having difficulties saving the photos correctly.I've tried restaring the phone, stopping and clearing the data for the Camera app, but nothing seems to have worked so far. Do you have any ideas of what to do?

Try performing a system repair using PC Companion as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone and erase all data so best to backup before you begin
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the on screen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

Aperture Not Saving Edits

I spent a lot of time (more than I have ever done) editing an image in Aperture. Lots of stages of dodging and burning, retouching etc.
I was happy with the result and moved on to edit the rest of the album.
I have just gone back to the first image and Aperture is showing me the image as it was about 1/3 of the way through the editing process.
Any idea why? and is there a way of checking the history so that I can get back to where I was without having to redo everything.

The browser view can be filtered to show only certain images. In the upper right hand corner of the view you will see (if you open the pulldown)
As you can see there are a whole range of filters you can set. The normal state for the filter is Unrated or better. This shows all images that do not have a rating or are rated 1 star or above. Rejected images are considered to be below this and are not shown normally.
To see rejected images you could select show all or select Rejected which would just show the rejected images. In addition you can see rejected images in the Rejected smart album located in the Recent section.

Camara App Not Saving Photos, Video Camara not Recording?

Since The Update to IOS6, I have not been able to Save any pictures from the Factory Camara App. It takes the picture but it does not save them, When i try to use the Video Rec it just doesn't even start recording. Very Frustrating i'm going to try and do a restore right now i guess. ANYONE else having this problem?

Ever since the update, I haven't been able to save images from facebook. The pics I take with my camera are saved, as well as videos, my issue lies in saving images from the web.

Camera app acting weird - not saving photos - iphone 6 plus

I just got my iphone 6 plus... I'm trying to use the stock camera app and it's acting weird. I'm able to focus and take a photo... after I take a pic, you know how the little thumbnail of that photo appears on the bottom left of the app? You should be able to touch that and then view in full screen your last pic, right? Well here is when it starts acting up... When I touch it, nothing happens! I exit the app and go to the photos app and my picture isn't there! The app doesn't appear to freeze - as I can still view the screen and what the camera is looking at! Before the 1st photo is "taken" I am able to choose between any of the photo types (square, pano, video, slo mo, time lapse)... but the same thing will happen no matter which photo I choose. If I pick a video, the video begins and then the touch part doesn't work... the video will run on 'forever' or until i press the home button - in which case the video isn't saved.
I have restarted my phone many times... and even done the power cycle (where you hold the sleep/lock and home button at same time)
Any ideas? Please help - this is a 2 day old phone and the camera doesn't work properly.
What is really weird is that I can post a photo taken by instagram with no problem.. I can also use the Camera Awesome app but the photos aren't saved in the photos app... even if I try to export to camera roll in camera awesome!

After erasing and setting up as a new device, your device is now in a factory configuration. Test to determine if erasing and setting up as a new device resolved the issue. Content on the device may have caused unexpected behavior.
- If the issue is still present, you may want to contact Apple Support.
- If the issue is now resolved, sync one type of content at a time back to the device. For example, if you had an issue playing music, add songs from iTunes and confirm they will play. If your contacts weren't loading successfully, add the contacts back. After each sync, test to see if the issue has returned.

Iphone 5 not saving photos in the camera roll

Hi, today i received a new iphone 5 32gb from my carrier (telcel México), everything is ok... but it doesn't save any kind of photo, image or picture in the camera roll, what can i do? thx

Not saving photos

All of a sudden Photoshop Touch won't save photoshopped photos anymore, I can open them up and start editing them but when I go to start a new project I'm getting this error image and then can't reopen the file. Any idea what's going on here? Having lots of lag issues too. Obviously, I'm a personal style blogger and I can't really live without photoshop so any help is great!

Aperture not saving layered tiffs?

I have been trying to import my layered PS tiffs or PSD's back into aperture, sometimes it seems to save the layers and sometimes it doesn't. Am I doing something wrong.
I do use Nikon Capture NX as part of my work flow Aperture>NX> photoshop, then import my finished tiff back into Aperture. I would prefer to save them as PSD's but Apreture never seems to save the PS layers, sometimes it will with tiff's and sometimes it won't.
Any suggestions?

Aperture can work with layered TIFF and PSD files, but there are limitations.
IF you make any changes to the layered TIFF/PSD file from within Aperture, it will flatten the file. You should only make changes to these files outside of Aperture, via "open using external editor."

Am I correct that Photos does not support external editors? i.e., in Aperture, I click Photos Edit with.... and can open in Photoshop or various plug-ins. Changes are then automatically saved back to Aperture. Nonexistent in Photos?

Thanks Larry. That certainly gives me some understanding. Can't imagine I'm the only Aperture user with that concern, so I certainly hope Adobe and others will fill the void. Without that feature, Photos is pretty much a non-started for me.
