Aperture on Intel iMac running 10.7.5 has blue streaks on color photos and on Aperture menu bar
Everytime I open latest version of Aperture, I get blue streaks across the photos and on the menu bar for the App. Photos that are opened and or exported in Aperture are corrupted with blue streaks. This problem makes the App completly useless.
They are nothing like I expected to see. When viewing at 1000% (in Graphic Converter), they appear to be different shading on individual pixels although it can easily be missed, even on my Retina display on my MBP? They definitely do no appear as lines or streaks.
In the EXIF info, I see that the exposure is described as the Creative Exposure Program. What does your camera manual say about that? Any googling I do seems to refer to some sort of Art Filter? Whatever it means, it also seems that the photo had to be rotated.

Contact Apple (call AppleCare) and for a nominal fee the discs will be replaced. You can do that or purchase Snow Leopard (still availble from Apple for $20) and do an erase and install of OS X making the machine like a new machine.

I have an Intel iMac running OSX 10.6.8. I would like to use Final Cut Pro 10.1. I know I need OSX 10.9 for this. Can I run both 10.6.8 and 10.9 on the iMac ? I do not want to convert completely to 10.9 because of my existing software. Thanks for any help
It would depend on how old your IMac is, how mush memory you have, it it can be upgraded by OWC, etc. I have a 2006 Macbook Pro and would NOT put Mavericks on it or espeacially FCP 10.1.1 on it because the most memory it can have is 4 GB. You need at least 8 GB to work with Final Cut Pro 10.1.1. IMHO.
I would try to find a copy of Final Cut Express perhaps.

Hi can anyone please tell me if it is possible to run OSX Tiger from an external hard drive on an Intel iMac running OSX 10.5 Leopard or later?

At the moment I am running Tiger on a partitioned hard drive shared with OSX Leopard and wish to upgrade to an intel Mac. I need tiger to run some software not compatible with newer Macs and also to access OS9 Classic. Thanx for your help.IF you upgraded from Panther as you know you do not have an Intel based iMac. I beleive the limit of your upgrades on your current machine is going to be Leopard. The system requirements for Snow Leopard are:

1GB of memory
5GB of available disk space
DVD drive for installation
Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply
This is straight from Apple so yes if you want to go beyond Leopard then you must purchase a new machine. My suggestion would be to begin replacing your legacy apps, you are extremely far behind and the longer you wait the more painful it will be to get current.

The latest Flash Player version for 10.4.11 is Flash Player 10.1. Newer Flash versions require Mac OS X Snow Leopard or newer. -

If the Snow Leopard install disk came with or otherwise is compatible with your iMac, you can boot from it, but that won't allow you to run software (other than the utilities that are part of the installation set). You will have to install Snow Leopard, either on a partition on the iMac's internal hard drive or on an external drive, before you will be able to run applications.

I am using iphoto 6.06 for my intel imac. I have been trying to print pictures from iphoto and i keep getting a message that states " unreadable file: the following file could not be imported. the file is in the iphoto library folder" also when i try to print a picture from iphoto i get a message that says "no page was selected"
not sure what happened but i can pnly print when i drop the photo onto my desktop as an 8.5 x 11 size picture and i am trying to print 4x6'sSince the new library gives you the same message log into another user account on your Mac and see if you can run iPhoto without getting that message. If you get that message there also a reinstall of iPhoto seems indicated. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder,

Keyboard viewer on my iMac (running Snow Leopard) recently has lost small size. Green "+" button is just moving big keyboard size up. I would appreciate a hint how to fix the problem. Alex
You can resize the keyboard window, positioning the mouse pointer at the edge of the window, clicking and dragging to the desired size.

I am unable to start up my iMac running on 10.4.11 - the startup disk is installed and will not start up eben when I hold down the "C" Key. I do get the apple, but then it disappears.

My iMac running 10.7.5 has suddenly developed the habit of asking for my keychain password every 10 minutes or so. iTunes, mail and airport are the usual requesters. It's making me nuts! And no, I have not recently changed my password to start this new issue.

Try running Keychain First Aid on your keychain or just rese your Keychain to create another keychain to see if that resolves the issue of the repeated prompts for the password.

I have a 27" iMac with a 27" Cinema display. If I have Photoshop on the cinema display, the menu bar is way over on the iMac. Is there any add-on that I can install to make the menu bar follow the open app?

it keeps saying running out of disk space need to delete some photos and videos but i already cleared out all my photos and videos and it keeps saying the same thing.
Connect the iPod to your computer. Click on the iPod under Devices and iTunes. How large is the "other" category as shown in the colored bargraph? If larger than about 3/4 GB, restore the iPod. That large of "other" indicates corrupted files.

Intel iMac running boot camp success
I am looking at replacing my HS PC Lab and I am debating if I want to replace the labe with 17" iMac Intel machines and running boot camp on the iMac to get to my windows applications. Is there anybody out there that has purchased the Intel iMacs and run boot camp for windows applcations for the entire school day? If so, what is your success rate? Are you running Windows 2000, Windows XP Pro, or Windows Vista? I have heard of schools doing this for 1 hour a day and are happy with it.

I use OSX for as much as possible.
I use bootcamp with Windows XP for gaming, and get "native" PC speed. With the present version of Bootcamp I have had no issues at all. The iMac just works as a PC (but looks so MUCH better)..
I use Parallels desktop with Windows XP for all other "non gaming" windows applications with only a small impact on speed. All other for me however means only a piece of GPS software for my PocketPC - not available in OSX version....
If you want style and versatility - go for the Mac
