Aperture plugins

Hello,
where is the Aperture 'plugin' folder?
I want to install a lens correction plugin for my wide angle lenses.
Thanks

Thank you for that.
Only problem is that Aperture has nothing following it.
I removed Aperture and reinstalled it but my file tree reads.
/Library/Application Support/Aperture/    here appears a p list document
Any ideas?

  • Workflow for Aperture plugins in series.

    Hi there,
I have been looking for an answer to this for a few months, and can't figure it out.
I have a number of Aperture plugins, borderfx, and flickrexport being the two main.
When I have finished working on a photograph, I normally do one of three things:
    1. export it to flickr.com with flickrexport, or
    2. file it in the relevant project or
    3. export it to a jpeg with borderfx for emailing/etc.
I have been trying, but can't see if it is possible to do the following:
    1. use borderfx to put a border around the photograph then
    2. export it to flickr using flickrexport
So, my question: is it possible to run a number of aperture plugins, in a series, to create a workflow, without having to export/import images?
If it requires Automator, I am proficient in creating simple workflows with it.
    Any help is appreciate.
    thanks

As those are both export plugins, the only way you are going to be able to run them consecutively is to export using the border plugin, import the resulting images then then export the new files via flickrexport. Unless there's an image adjustment version of the border plugin?

  • After installing and updating mountain lion PTLense Aperture Plugin lost license

I tried to find a solution and wanted to delete PTlense from the directorie but the systems says I don't have permission??? As much as I understood I can download and install PTLense Aperture Plugin again but before I have to delete any "PTLense-Things" from the library. The problem is, that I can't delete.
I really need PTlense daily. Please help! Thank you

Do a Get Info (command - I) on the plugin and see what the permissions are set to. If necessary, unlock the lock and set your permissions to read/write.

I can't find in maverics the library/application support/aperture/plugins folder... someone knows how to install pt lens plug in?

Your user library is hidden by default in Mavericks.
You can reveal it from the Finder's "Go" menu in the main menu bar:
    Finder > Go
Then hold down to options-key ⌥, until "Library" appears in the drop-down menu. Select it and open the Library. Then look for the folder "Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins".
Alternately you could install the plug-in for all users in "/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins", in the "Library" folder directly on your sytem drive.

  • Aperture Plugin

How to download Aperture Plugin 3.2.2 fot Mac OSX 10.7.3 Lion.
    New user.
    Thank you!!

Aperture is a seperate Application, it is not a Plug-in for any other app. I assume you installed Aperture from the App store, you should be able to launch it from your Applications Folder, the same as any other Application.
Once launched Aperture will have an empty library, it will not show the contents of your iPhoto library unless you import the iPhoto library to into Aeprture.

  • Aperture plugin copies previews, doesn't import or stack

    Has anyone tried the option:
"For images which have been adjusted in Aperture, import full size previews from the Aperture Library (if they are available and up-to-date)."
         …and subsequently selecting…
"For Referenced images left in their original location, place version previews in the same folder as the master image to allow for automatic stacking"
When selecting these option, the plugin copies the master files into a hierarchy in finder, organized by date.  Indeed, it does copy JPEG previews, if available.
Perhaps I'm missing something, but it doesn't import these JPEG files into the Lightroom catalog, nor does it automatically stack the preview with the master file.   The Aperture preview files end in _Aperture_preview.jpg.  Or in other words, a preview for IMG_2924.CR2 would read IMG_2924_Aperture_preview.jpg

Good question, but difficult to answer.  Yes.  I completed a 40,000 image import with all options checked.
A couple of things though.  The plugin will leave any "referenced" files where they are and copy any "managed" master files in your Aperture library to the location you specify.  Previews will be copied to the corresponding old "referenced" master file location, or the new Lightroom location, depending on the source.
Only files with generated previews will be copied to Lightroom.  I also saw several errors about previews being "skipped" because they were "not up-to-date".  Could be that the preview just does not exist, or that it could not cope with the size of the preview.  Just don't know, because Aperture does not make this easy to know what you do and do not have previews for.  I strongly suggest you make a conscious decision to delete previews you do not want (makes the result messy), and create appropriate sized previews for what you do want to keep.    So I'd suggest you delete previews, then generate them for all that you need, based on filters.  Strongly suggest creating full-resolution previews.  You only get one shot, so why not have a full-sized preview.
And it does stack photos with previews.  Remember, Lightroom will not stack Aperture stacks.  Will only create keywords for them, if the option was chosen, but you can stack them later.  Did not have the presence of mind to keyword all my photos that did or did not have previews, so I wasn't able to get a good idea of how accurate the plugin was in stacking previews.  Suggest you keyword photos you create previews for so you have some method of validating the conversion afterward, or need to compare output from the error log.
Lightroom DOES NOT allow the use of stacks in the "collections" view.  <sigh>  So make sure you're using the "catalog" view.

  • Aperture plugin not copying all previews

Using "v1.1" of the plugin (or rather, it's actually 1.0.9 something)
Looks like the plugin is does not copy over half of previews from the Aperture library.  I ran three tests on approximately 1100 photos each.
    Method:
All photos were selected and previews deleted in Aperture. 82 photos were selected in Aperture, and small previews were generated (defined by preferences). Verified that, indeed, 82 previews existed in the Aperture library by examining the PREVIEWS directory within the library package.
Migrated using the new plugin. Selected all options.  Searched to find all JPEGs with _Aperture_preview.jpg appended in the Lightroom target directory. Only 31 images found.  Some of the previews that did copy were side by side others that did not copy in the same project, from the same camera.  I can’t find a reason why they did not copy.
Here’s and entry from the log:
Failed to copy /Volumes/Photos/Aperture Library/Ashi/IMG_8250.JPG to destination directory
Some preview files that did not copy show in the log, but most do not.
Anyone else seeing this?  You can test if your previews copy, too, by using the method above.

    Hi,
Had you imported a new set of images around the time the problem started?  There have been situations where a corrupted image being imported has given rise to something like what you describe.
If the answer is "no", then suggest you do a repair, or a rebuild if that doesn't work:
To repair or rebuild your Aperture library
1  Close Aperture, if it’s open.
2  Locate the Aperture library you want to fix, then hold down the Command and Option keys while double-clicking the Aperture library. The Aperture Library First Aid dialog appears.
3  In the Aperture Library First Aid dialog, do one of the following:
    • To repair the permissions of the files within your Aperture library: Select Repairing Permissions.
This option should be used when Aperture can’t access some of the image files within the database or Aperture is unable to open the library itself. The Repairing Permissions option reviews each file in your Aperture library and sets the read and write access of each file where appropriate, allowing Aperture to access the files again.

  • Aperture Plugin for FTP Uploading

I have been trying to use a trial version of UberUpload to upload files to a clients FTP site, but it simply will not connect the the server. Is there another plugin that might work?

Did you ever get this to work? I am interested in uploading web galleries via ftp from directly within Aperture to my own website and I'm searching for a solution as well.

  • Aperture plugin folder

Hi i'm just trying aperture, I already use Hydra for HDR so was trying to install hydra as a plugin but it doesn't appeare in aperture
So I try to see what was in /library/application support/aperture/plug-ins
But is not accessible because it seems a only root folder, I can't list even by shell with an admin user
Even after repair permission anything append
Is this normal? I think hydra pkg can't write in that folder

    Hi,
on my iMac with OS X 10.6.4 the Hydra Plugin works well with Aperture 3.0.3.
On my system the permissions read as follows (as seen in Finder Info window):
    /Library/Application Support
    - System: Read & Write
    - admin: Read & Write
    - everyone: Read Only
    /Library/Application Support/Aperture
    - System: Read & Write

    /Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins
    - System: Read & Write

  • Genuine Fractals 6.0 Pro aperture plugin

Just noticed that the new GF 6.0 pro edition includes support for Aperture. Not sure how useful this is since you could just use the standalone version. But I guess it saves a step or two.
    http://www.ononesoftware.com/detail.php?prodLine_id=7

    FlatE,
I had a number of photos taken in candlelight in a project in Aperture, some of which resulted from panning from side to side. I chose two that were taken seconds apart, and sent them to Photoshop to be merged into a panorama. Since Photomerge in PS does not make either of the original images the resultant, I had to save the panorama as a new image (TIFF in this case), and Import it back into Aperture for further editing. The primary retouching I wanted to then do in Aperture was to use Noise Ninja, which I have only set up as a plugin in Aperture, even though I have the license to set it up as stand alone or as a plugin to PS. I simply chose to not do much editing to the original images, but rather to wait for the merged panorama.
I then chose Pages because I trusted both its resizing ability and ease to add text below the photo as a title when printed. I felt more confident to take a PDF to the outside printing service, than a pure photo format. Obviously I could have stayed in Photoshop if I had set Noise Ninja up to use there after the merge but I like the editing of shading in Aperture better than in Photoshop, these days. Btw, I exported the retouched panorama from Aperture before dragging it into Pages. This was not a workflow for a mass of images, but one special one.

  • Aperture plugin does not create keywords correctly on previews

Keywording migration is different between previews and raw files.
"Non-face" keywording works as expected for raw files, but not for Aperture preview JPEGs. The preview JPEG seems to suffer with keywords.
The child, parent, and child/parent combo all seem to appear as keywords in the preview JPEG, whereas only the child keywords appear in the master (correct behavior).
This only seems to occur in JPEG previews of other Aperture modified JPEGs, not in original JPEGs or JPEG previews from raw files.
Face keywords show up correctly on JPEGs, but not on RAW files?  Could this be a link?  Seem to have different logic for raw vs preview, but neither work together on either raw or preview.
Raw: non-face keywords okay, only one face keyword per photo
JPEG previews: non-face keywords are a mess, all face keywords included

I am trying to import some existing JPEGs on my Desktop.
Do you mean your Desktop folder? And is the Desktop folder the only folder that is showing this behaviour?  I have never had problems to open images directly from the Desktop. Have the image files been dropped directly onto the the Desktop or into a subfolder of the Desktop?
Previous MacOS X versions had problems with a huge number of files on the Desktop because this folder has been treated in a special way.
Which version of Aperture and MacOS X are you using?
It might be a problem with permissions or file ownership.
If the problem with your Desktop folder persists you could try to reset the permissions, ownership, and access control lists on your Home folder as described in Linc Davis's post here:  Re: iPhoto returns OSStatus error -54
Have you by any chance encrypted your Home folder by File Vault?

  • Aperture plugins show "preparing (null) for editing-then frozen"

This happens with more than one type of plug-in: Nik and onOne. When it happens, I have to force quit Aperture3. On reopening the app, I can edit using the plug-in, but my prefs keep getting set back to a default state: Inspector on left instead of right. Browser at the bottom instead of left, as I have set them. Anyone else run into this issue?

Does it reset your prefs, if you have changed them (such as moving the Inspector to the right)? Any clues to what may be going on here. It's still happening on a clean install of Lion. Thought that would fix the problem that showed up using SL, but no.

  • Aperture 3 plugin issue

I have Aperture 3 on my desktop and my MacBook Pro when working out in the field. I recently downloaded "Flickery" to post my photos to flickr, which comes with an Aperture plugin. However, the plugin does not show up in my desktop computer, but does on my laptop. I'm suspecting some kind of corruption on the desktop version? I've rebuilt the library, but to no avail. What should be my next step? Would simply copying the laptop version onto the desktop work? Are there preferences perhaps I should delete? What would you suggest?

Aperture plugins are stored in one of two places:
    Computer/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins or User/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug-Ins
Check to make sure the plugin you installed is really in one of those two places. Copying the AP3 app won't make a difference since plug-ins aren't stored within the app bundle.

  • Advice needed about lens correction plugin's for Aperture 2.1

Please can I have some advice about lens correction plugin's for Aperture 2.1?
I see that the Apple Aperture Downloads site promotes two:
    1)LensFix 4.3
An external editor. The Aperture Downloads site calls it Lens Fix 4.3 but when you go the developers site (Kekus Digital) it only shows LensFix CI is this the same thing? Am I supposed to download the PTLens database from epaperpress.com and install manually before it is any good?
    OR
    2)Edit FixLens 1.6
Their site looks very poorly designed and the link from the Apple page does not go to the Aperture plugin, you have to drill down until you find it! Does it use the exif data about your lens and the zoom setting it was on automatically or do you need to configure it each time?
Which one did you buy? Was it worth it?
    Thanks for your time!

LensFix CI is the same thing. It has the standalone version, the PS plug-in and the Aperture plug-in.
I've used LensFix via PS for a long time. It's great but... it can be a bit buggy if the image in use is 16-bit. Often it will work on the first image or two and then crash on the next.
I am told it's not compatible with PS CS4.
Another option is PTLens. It's also a PS plug-in and an Aperture plug-in. It's supposed to be CS4 compatible.
    http://epaperpress.com/ptlens/index.html
It uses the same database of lens corrections as LensFix.
FWIW, I've tended to do this kind of work in Photoshop, either round tripping an image in Aperture or exporting an image from Aperture. Since Aperture plug-ins are going to 16-bit Tiff files anyway and since most images (if they are final files for clients) need some more PS work, I just go that route.
