Aperture Sample images

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to know how to import the sample images, i have tibet but i cant get the other 1 with the clothing on and stuff, i found them really useful images for a project i am doing, anyone got any ideas?

Nope, I just imported it from the DVD.
By the way, you are aware that access to the files doesn't equal permission to use the images for anything?

Hi, just recently got a new mac and I decided to pick up Aperture, now i've managed to get everything else sorted to my liking I thought I'd start experimenting. So i started it up and expected the question about importing sample images, which didn't appear. The main window has a folder called 'Nature' which i believe is one of the sample projects but theres no images in it
Is there a way to reimport the sample images?

Below this text there are 4 examples of what comes out of my M2 camera. I checked with my friend, who has the same phone and also went to the shop and checked with their M2 phone....Those two phones make sharpi pictures, mine is faulty, as simple as that. So a warranty repair on schedule.
Guhanrocky, I've been dealing with photography for more than 15 years now...It is my humble opinion that I can use a camera no matter to what type of device that photographic sensor is conected to I just got a bad luck with faulty phone and I believe (from some complains) I might not be the only one...

IPhoto sample images

I am new to iPhoto so pls bear with me. I seem to have these sample photos which I believe come from iPhoto, (soccer photos, AZ vacation photos.....), and I want to delete them. The only problem is, I can't find them to nuke em. Can somebody help?

Your question is not clear
There are no "sample" images in iPhoto
The only way to delete any image in iPhoto is to select it in iPhoto and drag it to the iPhoto thasr(or press the delete key) and then empty the iPhoto trash and the system trash
As to how to fine the photo you only find the photo using iPhoto and you only manage the photos in iPhoto using iPhoto

IWeb uploading sample image

Hi
I've just uploaded my website which is being hosted by ipage, I used the Publish Site option vie SEO Tool for iweb. I then made some alterations to the website in iWeb and then reloaded the site.
Now all of a sudden a random sample image has appeared on the home page yet it's not showing on the home page in iWeb. I've deleted all of the folders and reloaded them, deleted history and cleared any saved info that I could find under preferences but image is still showing. I've also created a new blank page and copied over the information I wanted to use to ensure the image wasn't underneth yet still it's showing on the live site
Any ideas why / how this is happening and if I can get rid of it?

I would recommend that you use an FTP application to upload the files after processing with SEO Tool.
Either that or contact Rage tech support and ask them to deal with the problem.
Publish your site to a local folder and launch it in the browser by double clicking the external index.html file. Is this version OK?
Then process the files with the Tool and test again. Is this version OK?

Aperture 2 Image Preview Corruption?

I just installed Aperture 2 (upgrade) this weekend, and am noticing that eventually, after several minutes of use, image previews (main window, not thumbnails) will start becoming corrupted. The corruption looks like streaks or bands of altered color data. Once it begins, it will persist for most new images that are clicked on. If I quit Aperture, I've noticed the behavior continue with other images (i.e. my desktop background). A couple times, this has also been followed by a system crash.
I'm running on a Dual 2.0 GHz G5, 3.5 GB, OS 10.5.2. Vast majority of images are RAW from a Canon 20D. Prior to updating Aperture, my system was fairly stable - the only crashes I would typically see were sleep-related.
Anyone else see similar behavior? I should note that when I've relaunched Aperture, the image previews are no longer corrupted, so I don't think anything is wrong with my photos themselves...

Well, I think I finally found the answer to my problem... bad RAM. My system has been rather flaky recently - apps crashing randomly, so I started to think there were other issues going on. After reinstalling the OS had no effect, I finally figured I'd test the RAM. Sure enough, one of my pairs of DIMMs was bad (go figure it had to be the big 2GB upgrade I added). After I took them out, my Aperture imports have worked normally. It hasn't been very long, so I can't comment on whether that solved the system stability problems, too, but it's a good bet it has...

Effects Plug ins and Sample Image expression

Hello guys,
I have a small problem with the sample Image expression and effects affinity.
I build an effect similar to the autolevels effect. It scales up the gray levels of a picture. Really simple effect.
Then I try to get the color at some point of my layer.
So i add a Point effect, a color effect from expression control.
Then I put an expression to update my color parameter :
sampleImage(effect(Point));
this does work sometimes and not other times. I move the point and the value becomes incorrect... emptying the cache sometimes clear the problem but not all the time.
I have some random values sometimes too.
If I precomp my layer, then no problem, I get the right result.
It seems there is a synchonization problem between my effect and the expression evaluation. It seems to be evaluated before my effect computation is finished. Maybe i m not sending the right out flags or something like this?
I tried with the standard autolevels and the color is correctly updated....
If someone has any ideas that could help me.

I m back to the question of sample image.
In prerender, i do like in the samples (Shifter, SDK Noise). I
realized that the behavior of the samples in the sdk is also
erroneous.
The color returned by sampleImage is randomly the color
before the effect application, and sometimes after the effect application.
It seems that SmartyPants sample is doing it correctly, so i have to check it out.

I checked the rectangle:
in_result.result_rect and in_result.max_result_rect
and they where just the size of the composition when I do a normal render.
When the render is started by the expression, i get a first pre render:
in_result.result_rect: a ten pixel square centered at the sample point
in_result.max_result_rect: the full composition
and a second one with the full composition in both.

Trouble downloading Lightroom Sample Image

Anyone else having problems downloading the Lightroom Sample Image from the Adobe Store? I purchased Lightroom a few days ago and successfully downloaded the application, but cannot download the sample image which is also on the download list from this order. When I first clicked on it, I got the dialog box (Windows) asking whether I wanted to reset the Quicktime MIME type associations back to Quicktime. I answered "no" the first couple of tries, and got no download, so I answered "yes", and still no download.

Is Aperture displaying images with a modified color temp. or gamma?

I am brand new to Aperture and after importing some scans from black and white negatives, I notice that the same images when viewed in Preview or Photoshop appear brighter and perhaps cooler (but it is hard to tell with black and white images).
I am just trying to discover why Aperture displays images a little differently than other applications.

Comparison across applications is meaningful if and only if the image has the selfsame source ICC colour space profile. Begin by checking that the image has an embedded source ICC colour space profile. There are lots of ways, either run one the ColorSync AppleScript that extracts the embedded profile, or open the image in Apple Preview and check Tools > Get Info > Summary: ColorSync Profile, or open the image in the Apple ColorSync Utility, or open the image in Adobe Photoshop (which will describe an image without an embedded source ICC colour space profile as 'Untagged RGB', 'Untagged Gray' or 'Untagged CMYK'). If instead you open an image without an embedded source ICC colour space profile in a series of side-by-side application windows, these applications will assign an assumed source ICC colour space profile and the sources they assign may not be the same. In order to configure a conversion you have to have a source and a destination: no source, no colour managed conversion, so a source has sometimes to be assigned.

If the camera is listed here OS X Lion: Supported digital camera RAW formats or here Mac OS X v10.6: Supported digital camera RAW formats then the raw image file is supported by Aperture.
If the camera is not listed then as Keith wrote if it produces JPG's they can be imported into Aperture.
If you told us what camera you were interested in it might help.

Die Beispielmediathek gibt es leider nur mit der Paket-Version. Aber das ist wirklich kein großer Verlust, wenn man bedenkt, dass dafür die AppStore-Version um vieles preisgünstiger ist und deutlich großzügigere Lizenzbedingungen bietet.
Die Beispielbilder sind zwar sehr schön anzusehen, aber die Übungen aus dem Tutorium lassen sich sehr gut mit eigenen Urlaubsfotos durchführen.

I downloaded Aperture 3 from the App store and the sample library did not come with the download, where can I get the sample library?

The sample library only has been available with the boxed version of Aperture sold from the Apple Store; that version is no longer available; but with the App Store version you got yourself the much better bargain, far less expensive and a less restrictive licence agreement.
You can easily use your own images to do the Tutorials.

Aperture "no image found" after updating to 3.1.3.

This has been posted elsewhere with 60 some views with no responses and on here with almost 50 views with no responses. I will try rewording my question:
I have Aperture 3.1.3 (updated recently). I opened it and have a library displayed in the browser.
The library resides on an external drive along with 5 or 6 other ones (arranged by year).
I can look at my photos but can't edit or work with them because of the "no image found" message.
I am having no luck in reconnecting masters and also can't see the other libraries in the list of Aperture Libraries. I copied the 2011 library to my hard disk, but still can't reconnect masters.
Help please.
