Aperture shuts down while using crop tool
My wife is having problem with Aperture. Narrowed down to that it occurs when cropping a photo. Aperture just shuts down and asks if you want a restart. If restart or say no and launch, it recycles to shut down again. If you are fast and change projects as it starts, it will open and operate OK until you go back to that project that caused the shut down. It is not consistent to only one project (equal opportunity) so it appears it has something to do with the cropping tool. Work around (getting old)... delete image that was cropped from library or rebuild all from vault. Neither causes extended remediation.
Have run disk warrior. Asking before I uninstall and reinstall Aperture.
Thanks
I use Aperture several hours each day, and Aperture would sometimes crash while I'm trying to crop and also browsing through images. When this happens, I usually have to restart my machine to get Aperture working again without crashing, I've yet to find any permanent solution.
I think it happens more often when I'm working with large files (the images that have been edited in Photoshop and saved back to Aperture, 72MP files), but I have seen it happen to my plain RAW images as well (12MP files), but it doesn't happen as often as it would with the Photoshop files.
I really hope they resolve these issues soon...

When in iTunes if I try to change info such as song name while in the music library I get a 'send error report' messege and iTunes shuts down. I acctually I don't have to change anything just click in the field and when it turns blue which indicates I can start typing I get the windows error box pop-up. This started after the update 11.1.0.126 but I just saw the problem today as I rarely need to rename a song or other data.
Try this and see if it helps.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -
Hi, My 17 inch Mac pro laptop just shut down and I can't get it to turn on again. This has happen multiple times over the last six months. Looked through the forum and tried removing the battery and resetting the SMC control to no avail. I was having issues also with the screen a month ago but that resolved by itself. When I took it into the genius bar for screen problems I was told I'd probably need a new CPU board because the vram may be going bad and they just don't fix that
problem. Have held off because of a potential $500 repair and awaiting ivy bridge technology. Does anyone in the community know how I can restart my portable. Right now you turn on the machine and the front light stays on for 2 sec and you hear the machine click off?I think you may have already been told what the problem is. However look at this and maybe it will help:

Probably another genius bar appointment is the best way to exactly define the problem.
Good luck.

Mac randomly shuts down while using imovie
VERSION
iMovie 10.0.6
ISSUE
While editing movies in iMovie, the screen suddenly and unexpectedly goes black. There is no way to get the screen back on, the power button does nothing. The only way to reboot the computer is to unplug/replug the AC and start all over. All work used prior to the black out is lost.does a screen display "you need to restart your computer" in about 6 different languages, or does it just shut off? If so, you may have a problem with your fans. I would recommend running the AHT.

Aperture shut down during import
I started the import of photos from iPhoto to Aperture. Aperture shut down in the process. How do I upload only the photos that did not transfer? I tried import again, but it appears to want to upload the entire library again..
Have you done any work in the Aperture Library? If not, just delete it and redo the import into a new Library.
This may be a good idea anyway, until you determine what caused Aperture to shut down during the last import. Aperture allows you to easily merge Libraries.
Make a back-up of your iPhoto data first -- after confirming that nothing was harmed when Aperture shut down while importing.
Also, if you haven't upgraded your OS to the current version (you have 10.7.1 listed), you should. -
Several Apps seem to mysteriously shut down after using them for a while. Face Book shuts down , netflix, Safari, and other Apps. They work fine for a short while, or a long while, and then shut down and it brings me to my regular desktop screen. I've tried restarting by completely shutting down the IPad until I see the apple pic and turned it back on, but the shutdowns of apps continue. Anyone else have this issue? It generally started shortly after downloading and installing IOS 7......
Hi jennyoutwest,
Welcome to the Support Communities!
The following articles will provide some troubleshooting steps for your iPhone.
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
If that does not resolve the issue, refer to page 146 in the iPhone User Guide to Reset All Settings:
iPhone User Guide for iOS 7
manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
The final troubleshooting step would be to restore your device:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition. Before restoring:
Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes.
Back up your device.
Transfer and sync content to your computer.
Cheers,

Photoshop CS6 shuts downs when using the move tool
Photoshop CS6 shuts downs when using the move tool. It seemas to run fine until i try and use the move tool. PS worked fine just a few weeks ago and now it has this issue. What can i do to resole this issue?
Thnaks,
System Specs
Windows XP Home SP3
AMD Atholon 64 X2 Dual
2GB RAM
Video Cards
Radeon 7200
NVIDIA GeForce 8400GSTwo displays are OK on one adapter, Two displays adapters are not OK. http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/gpu-opengl-support-photoshop-cs4.html
7. If you are using more than one video adapter, remove the additional cards.
Multiple video adapters can cause problems when OpenGL and Photoshop use the GPU. It's best to connect two (or more) monitors into one video adapter. If you have to use more than one video adapter, make sure that they are the same make and model. Also make sure that they both support the same versions of OpenGL and Shader Model. Otherwise, crashes and other problems can occur in Photoshop.
Note: Using two video adapters does not enhance Photoshop's performance. -
Scroll down with the mouse while the crop tool window is open
I would like to know if there is a way to scroll down with the mouse while the crop tool window is open, like in Acrobat 5.0. If not with the mouse, is there another shortcut to go through the pages and adjust the size of the crop and see it on different pages? Thanks!
Yes, but I won't see what I'm cropping if I cannot scroll down while the window is open. Thank you for answering anyway!

Mac book pro trys to shut down while downloading?
my mac book pro trys to shut down while im downloading for some reason..
Hi Monroeeugene,
I'm not sure if you mean shutting down or going to sleep ... but this article will explain how to change your sleep settings so your downloads don't get interrupted.
Mac Basics: Set your preferences
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2490
Change your Mac's sleep settings
To conserve energy, all Macs have the ability to sleep. When you haven't used your Mac for a set amount of time, it enters a low-power mode until you wake it by pressing the keyboard, trackpad, or moving the mouse. Sleep doesn't turn off your computer; it merely puts it into an inactive state that consumes less power.
Open System Preferences
Choose View > Energy Saver.
Choose the Power Adapter or Battery tab. If you're using a desktop Mac (a Mac mini, iMac, or Mac Pro), the Power Adapter and Battery tabs do not appear.
Move the sliders for both the computer and display to change the times in which they go to sleep.
Select any other options you want, such as sleep and wake.
Hope this helps ...

Premiere Pro CS4 crashes and system shuts down while rendering
Hi All,
Good morning everyone, my system shuts down while rendering using Adobe media encoder from premiere pro. I have tried the following:
1.Completely removing CS4 and reinstalling.
2. Updating all the video drivers.
3. Re installing the Operating System (XP and Vista)
But the issue persists, i have attached the crash report and any thoughts are highly appreciated.
Regards,
VincentA number of problems pop out of your DXDIAG:
Both your video driver and your audio driver are more than 3 years old.
Your F drive is slow, because of the fill rate of 90%. You lack other hard disks.
You have Matrox, BlackMagic, Nero, Sony, DivX and other stuff installed. It has been a long time ago that I have seen such a long list of DirectShow filters installed.
Suggestions: Update your drivers, clean up your F drive and add another disk, remove all that Matrox stuff, possibly include BlackMagic and Sony.
What export/encoding settings do you use from what sequence settings? -
MacBook randomly shuts down while watching streaming video
I've been having a problem lately with my MacBook randomly shutting down. I initially thought it was due to overheating which was logical considering I was using my MacBook in bed and the computer was very hot when it would shut off, but I've recently started using a TV-Table top for it to sit on when I'm using it in bed. My MacBook continues to shut down and the computer isn't nearly as hot as it was prior to using the TV-Table top, it is just warm. It's definitely not a battery issue because this happens when I'm using the power source as well. *I think I've noticed that this only happens when I'm in Firefox watching online streaming video on sites such as YouTube.* I never use Safari so I'm not sure if the problem would occur in Safari or not. I tried installing the MacBook SMC Firmware Update v1.1 but it said my computer didn't need it.
I have the same problem, every once in a not-so-blue moon my macbook pro shuts down while streaming video. It only happens when streaming video. Just watched some of the new south park episode, and it shut down on me! It really ticks me off!!!!!

MAC AIR SHUTS DOWN WHILE STREAMING
My MacBook Air shuts down while streaming video. I am using safari and it works for a while but then shuts down and will not restart for quite some time. When it restarts I have to immediately close the video window or it will shut down again. I have the latest version of flashplayer.
This sounds like an overheating issue. Flash requires a surprisingly high level of resources. Do you hear your fans running at all while you are playing the videos?
Download the free iStat Pro widget directly from Apple:
http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/status/istatpro.html
It will show you both your fan speeds and temperature. Start playing a video and let it play for a short while (sometime before it typically shuts off... but long enough to let things warm up). Then check the temp and fan speed. Do this while the video is still playing as things can cool off pretty fast after you stop playing the video. Post the numbers back here.
