Aperture slideshow export to Pal

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows of a way I can export aperture slideshows to PAL to import in dvd studio pro for a dvd in the UK?
I have tried converting the videos with ffmgegx but the quality is not great?
Any ways around this would be very helpful, thanks

Aperture only produces a digital file of your slide show PAL refers to the encoding used when making a video disk.
Whether the video disk is encoded PAL or NTSC is determined by the software you are using to create the video disk.

  • Problem with Aperture slideshow export - Some photos don't display!

I have just completed my latest wedding slideshow. It plays as normal in Aperture, but when exported, certain photos don't show... just a black screen. The timings are unaffected.  Aperture 3.6, Yosemite 10.10.1
The affected photos seem to be the ones that I am displaying for longer durations. I'm using Ken Burn's theme and if I turn off the Ken Burn's effect on the affected photo it gets exported ok.
Having spent many hours working on this slideshow I'm "slightly" annoyed!  This is obviously a bug introduced in Aperture 3.6 or Quicktime on Yosemite, I just hope it can be fixed ASAP.   Unfortunately, I guess Aperture is low on the priority list... I have moved the LR, but still rely on Aperture for slideshows!
    HELP!

Luckily I still had a bootable pre-Yosemite backup of my iMac and have been able to successfully export the slideshow.  Hopefully, Apple will fix the problem before next wedding season!

  • Aperture slideshow export fails - not enough disk space

    hey
aperture 3.0 on Lion on macbook air 2011.
i am trying to export a slideshow I created in aperture (200 files, total several hundred mb plus 1 audi mp3)
however, anything over "ipod touch" resolutions throws the error
    Unable to Export Slideshow
    Not Enough Free Disk Space.
Free up space on the disk and try again.
I have more than 15 GB free, how could it possibly be the reason?
    Any ideas?

and where would this data be stored now? because I cannot find it to delete it to recover that disc space...
my situation is critical... I cannot even open the finder because I have zero disc space left after trying to render out my video from a 1 hour slide show with music.
I was supposed to have this completed by tonight and move onto other editing tasks..

  • Aperture 3 - Slideshows export HD no sound?

    Hi everybody,
First of all, sorry for my English, I am French.
I am considering buying Aperture 3 and have downloaded the trial version. I tried to make a slideshow (250 pics), and added 2 songs from my Itunes library in the slideshow.
The HD export gives a good result but, there is no sound! Is it "normal"? Should I customize the export parameters or choose something else?
Maybe you will tell me to do otherwise, but I want to export a movie from Aperture because :
    - I like the settings of Aperture slideshows and I want to keep them in the final movie
    - I want to burn the slide show on a DVD because I want to give it to some people
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Best regards

Weel, I have investigated further and it seems that there is only one song out of the 2 songs which is not read. Both are AAC files bought on Itunes and have the same characteristics. Do you have an idea which song 1 is not working? I have a screen capture of both songs information but I do not know how to attach them to my post.
    Thanks

  • What is the best way to create sRBG Aperture slideshow?

I am trying to play Aperture slideshows on my TV. After I created a slideshow from RAW files, I used iMovie/share Quicktime to change to file extension/codec to .mp4 so that I can play the slideshow on my TV.
But the color of the slideshow on TV was just too saturated.
Any easy way to export Aperture Slideshow in sRBG?

SRGB is a color Profile used primarily for images displayed on the web. Maybe you can try Automator, which has an action called "Add Color Profile" for quick time movies. It displays 3 options in the menu, SD, HD, PAL. Hope it works.

  • Slideshow Export Problem: Plays Half

Hi there. I'm having the following problem with iPhoto on my Macbook Pro Retina OSX 10.9.2.
I have a slideshow set to one song. I select all of the photos and export my slideshow. The export succeeds. However, when playing the exported slideshow, the slideshow gets to around the halfway mark, returns to the first image and does not progress, although the song continues to play. So, it leaves out the second half of all of the images and just freezes after retuning to the first image, while the song keeps playing uninterrupted.
I have tried rebuilding the library and all of the other trouble-shooting things you can do after holding down option-command when starting iPhoto. Now I'm at a loss. The slideshow works fine when I play it within iPhoto, but it does not work after being exported.
    Any ideas? Thanks.

    Just for closure of this topic;
The first export then only exported the soundtrack after 90 mins of exporting!
Second attempt I selected (Apple A) all of the images (in the viewer) and the soundtrack and then tried exporting again.
This time voila, it worked but the image quality is pretty poor even tho my prefs are set high, but it worked and landed in iTunes.
Downside is I then connected the iPad and transferred it onto that and now all the images are jumbled up out of order so that's it for me and Aperture slideshows, I will try fotomagico.

  • Aperture slideshows to mobileme gallery

I have tried endlessly to export a good quality aperture slideshow to my mobileme gallery but it seems this can only be done as an album of pictures or as a movie through imovie.
Does anyone know another procedure whereby I can upload them as I originally create them with music, theme, transitions, etc?

I create 'high quality previews' in aperture first.
From there I create a 'high quality master file'...
    Export from aperture...
    Using a 'custom' preset
    H.264
    24fps
    at 1920x1080
I label this file my 'master' for play back on computer & smaller versions for other devises.
    From here in QT7:
    File-export-'Movie to Quick Time Movie'
    Options-     Compression: H.264
                      Quality: High
                       Frame Rate: 24fps
                       Encoding Mode:  Multipass
                      Dimensions: 640x840
                       Scale:  Letterbox
                       Sound:  AAC
Not sure whether to go from ITunes to Mobileme from here or if there is a way to go from iTunes to Mobileme via iMovie
    from here...
I've just tried so many ways that I am disappointed with the results every time.
I did create one movie in mobileme with great quality but didn't write down how I did it and now I can't repeat it...
I am also very disappointed with not being able to produce good quality movies on a DVD...
Any advice on this matter is greatly appreciated...I realize my I.T. understanding is somewhat limited but I do know what it is I want to produce in the end after having taken great images...

  • Import Aperture slideshow into iPad as SLIDES

I prepared a slideshow using Aperture, individually introducing texts and modifying slide layout. 550 slides, this was a lot of work.
    Then I bought an iPad.
From what I found until now, the only solution is Aperture > iPhoto > (movie) > iPad
I don't care for a movie, I want to keep my slideshow, its quality and the ability to browse my own speed.
Using the album I prepared before is not the solution, as I loose the additional information for each slide.
    QUESTION 1
CAN I INDIVIDUALLY EXPORT PICTURES AND ADDITIONAL LAYOUT PREPARED FOR AN APERTURE SLIDESHOW AS JPEG FILES ?
I moved to Photoshop to redo the editing job, then import into Aperture.
Too bad, the order of pictures is lost when exporting to iPad.
And I did not find any solution for modifying orders of pictures on iPad.
iPhoto for iPad says it would do it (drag and drop), but I did not find how yet...
Should I individually drag pictures into an Album on iPad ?
    QUESTION 2
HOW TO MODIFY ORDERS OF PICTURES IN AN IPAD ALBUM ?
There should be solutions for both. Hopefully a simple one that I did not find yet.
    Can anyone help ?

    Hi Constance,
You would first need to export the slideshow from iPhoto as a Quicktime movie.
Then you can view it on your iPad.
    Here's how:
    iPhoto '11: Export a slideshow
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2428?viewlocale=en_US
iPhoto '11: View photos or slideshows on iPod, iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV

    Hope this information helps ...

  • How do I show and aperture slideshow on Apple TV?

I would like to show an aperture slideshow on Apple TV with airplay.  Is this possible or do I have to export it as quicktime or something fir

Do you have any suggestion for making my flat screen color match my monitor better? I calibrate my monitor using Color Eyes Display Pro, so I am aware that I may never have an exact match, but it would be great to be closer.
    Also, what is 'handbrake'?
    Thanks again!
Handbrake is a video conversion application. It transcodes DVDs, BluRay video or any simple video file such as those output by Lightroom into almost anything you want, but focused on files that iPhones and AppleTV understands. It's online here: http://handbrake.fr/ . I use it on all my video to lower the filesize significantly. I don't do a lot of video, but sometimes do "behind the scenes" stuff simply in iMovie, but the files that output are crazy large and can be really lowered in size simply by running them through handbrake.
Regarding the color matching, this can generally be done by calibrating the settings on your HDTV using something like a calibration disk. Generally these TVs (even if they are big name brands) come really badly calibrated out of the box to oversaturate color and give way too much contrast and far too high black levels as that is what consumers tend to like. They are also generally set up to sharpen the images, which you really do not want as it changes contrast (it impacts gamma) and such so turn off all sharpening and all dynamic contrast modes in the TVs menus. If you have kids, the Disney BluRay disks include a calibration tool that works really well. I have used the one on our Toy Story 3 BluRay disk to calibrate the living room HDTV. Afterwards I get really good matching results from it when streamed to from the AppleTV.

  • Import aperture slideshow to iweb

    import aperture slideshow to iweb

You can render an Aperture Slideshow as a video file using the "Export" button in the Aperture slideshow.  Then add the exported video to a movie template.
If you only want the photos in iWeb and not Aperture's animations and transitions, select the photos from the Aperture library in iWeb'S Media Broser panel and add them to a "Photos" album page in iWeb. These pages have a slideshow mode.
Aperture can also create Web albums and journals  (New > Web Journal,  New > Smart Web Page), that let you export HTML files of slideshows. Upload these files to an FTP server.

  • Slideshow Export to DVD Studio Pro

Is there a way in Aperture to export a slideshow that displays the file name at the bottom of an image so that it can be imported into DVD Studio Pro to be made into a chapter on a DVD?
I really need to do this! HELP!!!!
    Kevin Hawkins

First, export the shots you want to use.
From there you can import directly to dvd studio pro and title them as a dvd slide show if you like. You can also do this with idvd.
The dvd slide show format is limited to 99 shots, though and has some other limitations, (transitions), as well. You can break these by turning the shots into a movie, using something like imovie or final cut pro. Both also support titling.
There are several stand alone programs for doing this too, including photo2movie, and still life, both of which have relatively low price tags.
Search the dvdsp or fcp forms for more on this. Also search for "ken burns effect", which you may want to consider if you do this much.

  • Another Aperture slideshow and iDVD question

When ultimately making a DVD, why do some people export their Aperture slideshow to iMovie and then iDVD, while others export the slideshow to the desktop and then import directly to iDVD (skipping iMovie)?  I suppose another question is: is there somewhere an idiot's guide to all the various output and resolution options?  I'm reading that if you export at too high a resolution, iDVD will jack that back down and then you get "artifacts."  Are there optimal export resolutions for, say, Standard TVs and HDTVs when exporting from Aperture to iDVD?  Thank you!!

    MarkPek,
To add to what leonieDF has said.
I don't use Aperture for slide shows very often, but I make hundres of DVD's with iDVD and Toast.
All DVD's are standard definition, unless you use aa application like Toast and create a AVCHD Bluray disk.  It doesn't mater what type of TV you play it on, it's SD.  Some TV's do a good job of upscaling and the SD looks very good on them.
If you were to send a folder of full resolution 20 MP ( or whatever your camera is) images to iDVD there may be problems.  I don't think iDVD is a very good at rescaling images.  Sending 1920 x 1080 images or movies to iDVD has worked very well for me.  I expect 720p would do well also.
I would recomend you do a test of a slide show of 1 min or less and trry a few different settings.  I would try to export with a preset of Apple TV,iPad for a starter.  Note that using Apple TV iPad 720p will give you a frame rate of 24, where as the other Apple TV is 30 fps.  I have never tried feeding iDVD a movie that was 24fps,  I not sure how that would go.  I may give that a try and see what happens.
I use FCPX not iMovie, but I think that iMove works the same way.  In the moive editing software you can just drag your Aperture stills into the timeline from the photo browser to creat your slide show/movie.  But realize that the movie editing sofatware will actually use your Aperture previews for this.  So your preview preference will determine the resolution of the images going into your movie.  If your previews are set real low the results may not be very good.  A setting that is closer to your monitor resoulton would work very well.
Do a test and let us know hoiw you make out.  If I get a chance tomorrow I'll drop a quick slide show into iDVD.  I'll export the same slide show with a few differnt settings and then put them all on one DVD to play back.

  • Kern effect in a Aperture Slideshow...

(by kern effect I mean, the movement of the photo, pan or zoom then transfer with disolve, just like any mac screen saver) A must for a woow slideshow.
I can't do this in aperture. To apply the kern effect to my slideshows,
I have to export my images from aperture, import them into Iphoto and do the slideshow in Iphoto, Idvd does not have this feauture (that I know of)/
And the slideshows in aperture can not be share to Idvd, to do a dvd with the aperture slideshows, (4 slow, or 4 fast etc.)
Iphoto can create a slideshow with kern effect and then share it with idvd. I was expecting this from aperture 1.5
    Any Idea?
    Thanks

If you are using previews and in Aperture's preferences you are sharing this previews with iLife, you'll be able to do a slideshow with Ken Burns effects in iMovie, adding titles, music and comments and send it to iDVD.
There is not need to export, in any iLife app you'll find Aperture's library in the media section.

  • How can I create a slideshow that depicts only a version of a photo rather than the original? Since the original and new versions are saved together, the aperture slideshow often choices the original rather than the desired version to display/

How can I create a slideshow that depicts only a version of a photo rather than the original?   Since the original and new versions are saved together, the aperture slideshow often choices the original rather than the desired version to display.

There are two things we use the name "Slideshow" for in Aperture:  a Slideshow Album, used for making Slideshows, and the Slideshow that is made.  (Imho, it is a design mistake to not call the containers used to create Slideshows, Books, etc., "Albums".)
The Slideshow will use the Album Pick from any Stack.  A good way to use Aperture is to promote the Image you want to regularly use (such as, for example, a Version with adjustments) to the top of the Stack.  This makes it the Stack Pick, and will be the default Album Pick.  If you haven't done that, you can still change the Album Pick for any Stack in a Slideshow Album.  Expand your Stack(s), select the Image in each Stack that you want to be the Album Pick (and thus shown in the Slideshow), and "Stacks➞Set Album Pick".  (Note the keyboard shortcut; there is also a Toolbar icon for this.)  The change is immediate.  The Slideshow will always show the Album Pick (or, if there is not one, the Stack Pick) for every Stack in your Slideshow Album.

  • Premiere Elements 7: share/export DV-PAL in FLV/QT/WMV, black bars on top/bottom

During export (step "share", export for "PC" - sorry, if I use some wrong terms, got a german interface) of only DV-PAL video to FLV/QT/WMV there are always black bars on top/bottom of the video and the picture is wrong in aspect ratio. I can't help.
I tried different resolutions (original 720x576, 502x402, 320x240) and, as only possible with QT/WMV, different pixel aspect ratios (PARs), even user-defined PARs and 'wrong' aspect ratios (like 512x402). No chance. (I think precise user-defined data like "1,094" is not possible, because results did not change anyhow and this value is shown as "1".) With e.g. QT, 640x512, PAR 1,067 there are black bars with 6 px each.
My project settings must be correct I think: DV-PAL, 720x576, 4:3, 25 fps.
DV-PAL- and MPEG-Export/Share is no problem.
As a workaround I export DV-PAL and convert with XMediaRecode to FLV. But I want direct and clean export with PrEl. That's what I bought it for recently.
I wonder why there are only NTSC-setting suggested in FLV-share. I have to change the size by myself.
And I wonder why Wikipedia says PAR for DV-PAL is "1,0940" and Premiere says "1,067".
I'm new to Premiere Elements 7 (although I got some experience with Premiere 5/6.5, FinalCut, Cinelerra ...) using Windows XP.

I posted two videos on muvipix.com:
WMV cable modem settings PrEl (without audio, fps like original)
Strange: in VLC media player there are bars on the left and right (and slight faded bars on top/bottom - hope you can see) and in muvipix.com and Media Player Classic there are bars at top/bottom
    http://muvipix.com/cpg/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=17219&pos=0
    http://muvipix.com/cpg/albums/userpics/17219/Unbenannt.wmv
FLV (no resize, without audio, fps like original)
black bars on top/bottom, but only slight in Media Player Classic
    http://muvipix.com/cpg/displayimage.php?album=lastup&cat=17219&pos=1
    http://muvipix.com/cpg/albums/userpics/17219/Unbenannt.flv
I had to deactivate sound because this is Creative Commons stuff and I don't want to give credits. And I changed fps to "like original" because 30 fps as standard in PrEl is wrong. It's PAL here.
    Thanks for your efforts.
