APERTURE SOFTWARE HELP: I cannot drag photos from the finder into the browser?

Two weeks ago, I started a photo book project on Apple's Aperture. I have been importing photos by dragging images from my Finder to the browser. However, today, while I was editing text in my book, I think I accidentally pressed a button and all the photos from my browser disappeared. However, the photos are still seen under "Library" in the "Projects" and "Photos". Aperture no longer lets me drag images from my Finder to the browser either. Please help!!!

Check if youhave any filters set: Have a look at the search fields in the Browser and the Inspector panel. The search fields should be showing "All items" or "Show all", otherwise only specific items will be displayed.

You can reformat the drive but that will wipe all the data on it. Move everything to your Mac. Reformat the drive using Disk Utility. If you need both Mac and Windows access, I suggest ExFAT. Then move it all back

Starting to type a name and getting a list of matches is good but it's not a substitute for being able to choose twenty or thirty names from your address book and dragging them into the "To" field. Of course many contacts can be put into a group but I may want to send occasional emails to many people who don't fit any group, and there may be no need to create a group just for that email.

How did you add the photos to the iPhoto Library folder? The way to import photos is to drag them onto the iPhoto icon in the Dock or into the open iPhoto window.

What does not come up? What happens when you try to launch iPhoto with those two keys held down?
Try the following again being sure to hold those keys down before launcing iPhoto and until the window opens:
Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I cannot drag photos between events following the instructions in Help and I cannot drag photos to any album new or otherwise.
This version seems to be not all that great…

I've been using Apple products since '74.
Wow.
I cannot find the photos from another app; i.e., tried to look for the iPhoto folder and found instead an iPhoto file. When the file is selected, selected iPhoto opens. This file must be the phots -- it's 5 GB!
There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
1. Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. Show File: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.
The change was made to the format of the iPhoto library because many users were inadvertently corrupting their library by browsing through it with other software or making changes in it themselves. If you're willing to risk database corruption, you can restore the older functionality simply by right clicking on the iPhoto Library and choosing 'Show Package Contents'. Then simply make an alias to the folders you require and put that alias on the desktop or where ever you want it. Be aware though, that this is a hack and not supported by Apple.
Finally, you can drag and drop pics from the iPhoto Window to the addressbook - and many other applications.

How can I move photos from other albums into the camera roll

I have synced photos from my computer onto the iPad. There placed in a different album. How can I move them into the camera roll?

You could do it by setting up a Shared Photo Stream. Select the photos in the Photo app then tap the Shared button selecting Photo Stream. Just don't enter any email address and it will appear on your other devices. Only photos can be added and not albums so you will have to re-organize then on the iPhone.
I would recommend getting the photos to the computer as well though. Create a photo library on the computer and sync then over to the iphone with iTunes. The photo library on the computer can be added to a more reliable backup.

Aperture software help, i cannot retouch some photos

For the first time this week a have a problem with retouch in Aperture. I do'nt see any result at the moment when I use the retouch and it makes no difference if I use Retouch or Clone. The counter on the left side sais that there are multiple retouches, bus nothin changes on my screen. So I made an axport of a picture to see if that made any difference, but no the retouces are not on the exported photo. If I use Blur or another brush it works as always.
Has someone a solution? I also tryed the reproces original and retouch afterwards, no result.

Help! cannot retrive photos from icloud to pc

How can i retrieve my photos from icloud then back it up on my laptop? Please see screenshot as photos are not reflected on my icloud photos under favorites.

If you are using a Windows PC, you can use either the digital camera wizard or File Explorer. It's the same way as if from a digital camera.
If you are using a mac computer, use iPhoto to import them.

I guess there are not phone support... I cannot drag images from grid view into collections.

I have been trying desperately to fix this issue. I cannot drag any images from the grid view into collections. Can anyone help? I looked everywhere for a customer support number but I was not able to find one on Adobe Website.

Only a couple of things I can think of:
1. Make sure it isn't a Smart Collection, and
2. Drag by placing the cursor on the actual picture NOT the grey area surrounding the image.

Cannot import photos from SD card into USB card reader after 10.4.10 update

Prior to the 10.4.10 update, I used a USB media card reader to import photos from my Canon camera's SD card and it worked fine. I just tried to do that for the first time since I installed the 10.4.10 update, and now the memory card doesn't show up in iPhoto as a disk from which to import photos.
I'm back to transferring pictures through the cable, which is a bit of a pain and a waste of a new media card reader. Is there a way to restore this ability to use the card reader?
Note: I switched from Windows to Mac in February 2007, and except for having to hunt for media card readers that work with the Mac and a few kernel panics due, I think, to a problem with my Logitech mouse drivers, it's been pretty painless.
Intel iMac Mac OS X (10.4.10) C2D 2.16 GHz, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB hard drive

This problem is not generic to 10.4.10 -- but it is specific to Intel based Macs. I have the same problem with a Zynet 8-in-1 USB-2.0 card reader. It fails to mount on 10.4.10 Intel based Macs but works fine on 10.4.10 PPC macs (and on 10.3.9 PPC too)
It is very annoying because connecting through my phone is very slow, especially when updating 2GB of MP3s.
The reader, with card inserted, is recognized, but no storage media is seen and of course it does not mount as a disk device like it should:

Your saved book will show as a Book Collection in your collections panel. Open the collection with the other photos, select the desired photos in Grid view and drag them into the Book collection.

If you look at the link that Old Toad posted and scroll down to the section "Minimum system requirements by feature", you'll see, that you can use iCloud to transfer your photos from iOS 7 devices:
To use iCloud, you need at least iOS 5 on iPhone 3GS, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPad, or iPad mini; or at least OS X Lion v10.7.5 on a Mac.

I thought I was to do this, so I put my photo stream is in my icloud photos which is in the icloud drive. I cannot see them in the cloud online nor on my phone. Only my phones pics are in the cloud. How can i get all my photos in the cloud?

Problem importing photos after the new Photos update: When I drag photos from my desktop, why don't they don't replace the previously imported photos in "Last Import".

When I drag photos from my desktop to the new Photos icon, they don't replace the previously imported photos in "Last Import".

After several attempts, I now find that this is working for me. I wasn't able to open the IMPORT folder in Photos until I clicked on "Close" from File Menu. Once I was able to open the IMPORT folder and select the photos for import, the new photos appeared in "Last Import."
