Aperture synching with iPhone

I created a new project and couple albums in Aperture the other day and I synched my iPhone so the photos would be downloaded i.e., I checked the box for the projects and the albums I wanted synched. The project had 76 photos and I noticed the iPhone only had 49 of the images. I tried everything to troubleshoot the issue. I even unchecked every photo so that the iPhone had no pictures and tried only checking the one project and synching but it downloaded the same 49 images. The window shows 76 images in iTunes. Anyway, I removed all the images but one from the album in Aperture and I tried synching again. The iphone still shows 49 images when it should now show just one. So, I’m guessing it’s a cache issue. How do I fix?

Oh - macintosh HD > users > you> pictures > Aperture Library.aplibrary - right click, choose Show Package Contents, then just drag the Ipod Photo Cache to the trash. The next time you start itunes to sync your iphone/ipad/etc you'll need to re-setup your picture sync choices in the photos tab. When you synch your device tell it to replace the photos that are already on the device when it asks.

It does, but I use the SoundNote App because it records audio and allows me to draw diagrams in the document. Any thoughts on syncing the SoundNote files to the mini? I am sure it can be done with a wire, but I have a disability which makes it difficult to plug and unplug cords, so the more I can do wirelessly or through the Cloud the better. Thanks for your help! Need comparable contact managament to Act by Sage that will synch with iphone

I am having trouble finding a contact management solution similar to Act (which, obnoxiously, does not synch with iphone). Most I am finding are too bloated and complex (ex. Salesforce). I need it to synch with my iphone and Entourage on my MacBook Pro. I am in sales, with an awful memory. I just need somthing to log all interactions with contacts. I do not need to run sales reports, handle campaigns, workflows, etc. Thanks!

Here are just a few suggestions others and by no means is exhaustive, I am sure others will weigh in.
-Just a cursory read of the support forum I have not seen overwhelming complaints that iPhone does not work with windows. It seems mac and windows work equally well with the iPhone
-Ringtones if you like ringtones and could see your self loading your iPhone up go with the mac. Garage Band gives you the ability to make ring tones from your own music collection for free. There are down loads like iToner etc that are unofficial ring tone makers so it makes it a little more difficult to you use.
-As long as memory of your devices exceeds 16 GB (which is as high as the iPhone goes) you will be able to take full advantage of your iPhone. Anything more will not make a difference.
-There is no heavy processing involved with your iPhone syncing to your desktop/laptop. What we are taking about is down loading contact lists music etc. No real graphics rendering is taking place. The iPhone is a seperate system you desktop/laptop to manage your iPhone for preferences downloads etc. So processing speeds do not matter that much.
-iPhone apps work with any iPhone regardless of what OS it is synced to. Even if you would like to use Mobile Me it can utilize some windows programs.
What I would do is figure out which or your personal computers you use most. Then I would set up a Mobile Me account then I would add all other computers you might use to sync with your Mobile Me account and this would solve all of your problems, for 99 bucks/year that is.

Ian is of course right about import from iPhone > LR. To sync from LR to iPhone without using iPhoto: create a Publish service to a folder on your HD, and in iTunes select that folder for sync to your phone. Several good tutorials on the web for that approach. Try Terry White's podcast here

ICal on iMac won't synch with iphone 4 with 4s software update

Help please.
Since I updated my iphone 4 with the software for iphone 4s my ical on my imac won't synch with my iphone calendar. Also events are duplicated. It is driving me crazy as I have to check both clandarsd to ensure I don't miss any events and have to physically re enter them separately into the different calendars.
If the fix involves backing up or anything technical can you please explain fully how I do it as I am not a very experienced mac user.

"Well, I figured it out. The events that weren't syncing from my laptop to my iPhone were events for which I had changed the "calendar". In other words, I set up some events in iCal, all of which were part off the same calendar, but then I didn't like the color of those events. So I created a new calendar and changed these events by right clicking on them to assign them to the new calendar. Somehow, moving these events from the calendar they were created on to a different one caused them not to be recognized by the sync process. This sounds like a bug to me."

Selecting ical calendars to synch with iphone

I synch my iphone with my imac using a USB cable. I want to be able to synch with selected calendars only. Even if I deselect calendars in itunes under info when setting up iphone synch, it still tries to synch all calendars. Is there a solution for this?

If you are syncing calendars direct with iCal on your Mac via the iTunes sync process, the options under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes after selecting sync iCal calendars are all calendars or selected calendars. If you choose selected calendars followed by selecting only the calendars in the window below that you want available on your iPhone, only those calendars selected should be available on your iPhone and kept synchronized with your iPhone.
If not, try selecting Calendars for replace info on this iPhone below the Advanced section under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences. Select Apply followed by a sync.

Increasing bit rate of songs on Synching with iPhone?

The standard bit rate of 128 kbps doesn't seem high enough for some types of music and the quality can be poor. I used to have full aiff files on my phone but could obviously only get a handful of albums on, the quality was superb but overkill. Is there a way of synching with a better bit rate, say 200 kbps?

Can't sync Aperture Photos with iPhone under iTunes 10

I've recently upgraded to iTunes 10 and when I go to the photos section under the iPhone sync options, I can select either sync all photos or sync selected projects under sync with iPhoto, but as soon as I select Aperture it greys out the selected projects option, and reports 0 photos in Aperture to sync at all. This also happened when iTunes9 was first released and magically fixed itself some months later. Does anyone know why my Aperture library no longer appears to iTunes10 and how can I get it to find it?

I am having the same problem, I cannot select Projects if A3 is selected in iTunes. If All faces, albums and projects is selected the sync crashes almost immediately after starting the image routine.
1) Deleted the iPod data directory and files - no joy
2) Repaired, rebuilt database - no joy
3) Flipped sharing preference bit on, and off between program executions - no joy
4) Searched database for filenames with symbols in the file name. Found a couple - exported them from my project and deleted the masters - no joy
Then I noticed my facebook folders were syncing files DOWN from facebook and giving them very long filenames. Well, not long in the unix community - but upwards of 50 characters in length. Im wondering if anyone else has noticed this and if this could be the culprit.
In any case - until this is run to ground I am unable to use my iPad for the primary purpose for which it was purchased - as a mobile display of my portfolio.
Going to sleep now - been up for 24 hours. I think I will try deleting my facebook folders completely (from facebook) and then will see what happens.

Calendar synching with iphone ok one way, not the other

I've recently acquired the iphone and have been successful synching my calendar (on Entourage) with events entered on the computer, but cannot synch events entred on the iphone back to the computer. any ideas or help for this? Calendering is one of the primary reasons I purchased this phone over other devices because it was said to be compatible with entourage.

ITunes won't synch with iPhone 4s

This is driving me nuts.
iTunes goes through the whole synch process step-by-step including saying it's determining tracks to add etc etc but then it doesn't update the music and often doesn't update the app's. I may have to try synching 2, 3 or 4 times before it will actually applies the changes.
The annoying thing is it will say it's synched & the synch is complete but it isn't and hasn't.
I don't receive any alerts saying that the synch coudn't be completed etc.
Presently have around 21Gb free so it's not a space issue.
iPhone is latest iOS update & iTunes is likewise.
Help please.

Hmmm, okay, so not just me then.
I spent nearly 4 hours the other day trying to get this sorted. Even did a full restore. Finally got everything back onto my iPhone.
I switched it to wireless synching in-case the problem was with USB & that didn't fix the problem.
I managed to get onto Apple tech support & the dude was great, escalated the case to iTunes support in the US but it all fell apart then as they didn't pay attention to the description of the problem & just dismissed me with a pro-forma trouble-shooting response.
Looks like I'll have to waste still more time & book a Genius Bar appointment.
You know online self-service help & everything is fabulous if it delivers what the customer needs but there has to come a point where you can get support from a human that actually delivers.
