Aperture to youtube

I have a video in aperture, it's about 90 seconda was taken on an iphone 4s and is in .mov format. The file size is 230 mg and it looks great in aperture.  I want to put it on youtube and so the first thing i do is try to drag it out of aperture to my desktop on the mac.  What results is a file on my desktop which appears to be 49k   I can play this in preview but it wont upload to you tube.  can anyone advise on how to get the full quality video onto youtube please.

Glad it helped.
Remember dragging anything out of Aperture will always get you an image (or video) that is less then the full resolution version you will get if you export.

  • Export aperture slideshow to youtube

    Hi,
I would really appreciate help in finding a simple way to export a slideshow into you tube.
So far, I have used the 'export' button on the right hand side of the slideshow and selected 'you tube' it created an m4v file in iTune, what do I do now?
(I need to create a youtube clips and then empbed it in a shcool website)
This should be easy, right? - after all it's Apple???
    Many thanks,
    Batia

When you export you pick the filename and where you want the file exported to (the Folder)
Save As: is the filename to save the slide show as and then you pick the Folder to write the file, to.
Once Aperture is done use YouTubes importer to upload the file.

  • How do I edit a sign on a truck out of my picture in Aperture?

    Hello,
I'm new to Aperture and I've been reading the manuals, doing youtube videos, anything I can get my hands on. I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of the Budweiser sign on the truck in one of my pictures. I want to take it out because I'm putting this wedding picture on a canvas. I have tried the retouch option with repair and clone and I can't get it to work. I might be doing something wrong but everytime I try to do it, I go over the image and it doesn't go away all the way or it starts pasting part of the image that's around it. Ugh! I am so frustrated. Any help would be much appreciated! If need be, I can add the picture to here as well to show you what I'm talking about.

Does your truck look like above?
You can try to erase the white text with the Retouche brush, but is is a lot of work. You need to use short brush strokes from right to left. The brush strokes must mot be longer than the width of uniform background that you sample and clone.
Option click the brush to lift a sample to the far right, with plenty of uniform background to the left.
Then move the pointer to the letters in the same line and start to brush to the left, but only as far as the width of the uniform background. If the letters start reproducing, finish the stroke and start brushing again.
Instead of long strokes, you just could dab the cloned area on, if you cannot find areas with much free uniform space to the left.
You can brush the he cloned areas a second time by sampling your brushed image to repair any visible traces of the background peeping through.
It is probably easier to do this in an external editor like "Inpaint".

  • Save pdf to folder in JPEG / save aperture book to JPEG

    Hello guys,
basically I want to save my created photo book in Aperture in the best possible quality.
I have read the FAQ on apertureexpert.com about "save pdf to folder in JPEG" and have also downloaded the script that was posted their but it did not work as expected.
    http://www.apertureexpert.com/forum-user/post/1306850
The problem is that I can't really change any settings about the script (like change dpi to 300 like in the video below). Opening it in Automator does not bring the hoped features.
Basically I want to do exactly what is done in this video:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJ7ywI5N9o8
I might want to export the photos in TIFF too one day!
I am desperately trying to export my photo book in the best possible quality! I have spend the whole day trying to solve this problem without finding anything on google!
Would there be any possibilities to just download the complete "Save pdf to folder in TIFF" and "Save pdf to folder in JPEG" script somewhere? That would would be the optimal solution, a download link or simply an upload from someone how as the scripts that originally ware pre-installed on a mac. You can check if you have these under "Macintosh HD/Library/Pdf Services".
Thanks a lot for your help! I would really appreciate it!
    Best,
    Gordon

It actually goes thru the motions and appears to be working, but ultimately the pages are not actually created or saved anywhere. I have tried over and over, numerous things, but in the end there are no actual pages created... its weird. I specify exactly where to save the pages, and when its done, there is nothing there....
Also, when I run the Play button on the "Save PDF to folder as JPEG" in automator, it encounters an error at the "Move Finder Items", the step where it would actually place or save the JPEGs to that location.... I can not seem to figure out what went wrong, as it did work before and I don't know what I could have done to cause an error...

  • Problems using Aperture

    Hello,
I have a MacBookPro and use Aperture on it. Have been using this for 6 months quite happily.
Recently I purchased a 27" Thunderbolt display and have noticed a problem with Aperture.
When I'm trying to look at an image (any image, I have 100s) using the viewer, the image is blank. (Using the loupe shows the louped part of the image correctly and the browser function works correctly as well). Looking at the screen on the MacBookPro at the same time is the same.
If I disconnect the Thunderbolt display, the image is displayed as normal.
I can recreate this at will - plug it in, no image in viewer. Unplug it, image in viewer.
This fault does not occur when the laptop is on it's own, when a different external monitor is connected, on any other picture imaging software (that I have!), or on any other video application.
All updates have been applied. Restarts have happened many times!
Basically, it's all perfect, apart from trying to view an image, in Aperture, when the thunderbolt display is connected.
    Would appreciate any pointers
    Thanks

Did you try the second screen options as shown here?

  • Is there a (workaround) way to "destructively trim" Aperture videos?

I've managed to accrue several 100 GBs of video in my Aperture library.  Many of these videos are 5-10 mins long, whereas the portion of interest is only 10-20 seconds long.  I am trying to find a way to permanently trim these videos down to these key sections to save hard drive space, and have these trimmed videos alongside the photos I have taken in my Aperture projects.
I've looked for any sort of plug-in that would be able to permanently trim videos - but couldn't find any.  Are there any available?  I understand that the built-in Trim option keeps the original data intact.
I've also tried exporting the original videos,  editing them outside of Aperture, and then re-importing them back in.  The problem with this is that:
    a) I have yet to find a way to crop the videos without editing the timestamp of the video, which is quite important to me (I've tried Quick Time Pro, along with a few others), and
    b) the export/re-import process takes a prohibitively long time
Any thoughts or suggestions much appreciated!

If this can "help" you I remember that also in previous versions of OSX sometimes Activity Monitor did not show certain particular videos: I think it depends by the way the video is set on the web page (something too technical for me)
Anyway the best solution for downloading videos from the web will always be Firefox + the extension "DownLoadThemAll". Unfortunately there is nothing like it for Safari.
I have also tryed different Apps & Tricks for downloading easily videos from Youtube but the "Dream team" Firefox+DownLoadThemAll is always the best!
Maybe there is something similar with Greasekit but actually the "Activity" method works fine for me.

  • Migrate from Lightroom 3 to Aperture 3 - Problems with DNG

    Hello : )
I will migrate from Lightroom 3 to Aperture 3. I've tested Aperture for a while and I like it, but I have one problem. If I import DNG files, I lost all the settings I've made in Lightroom, except Metadata. Is there any way to import DNG files and get all the settings? If not I think a migration to Aperture will not be possible to me, because I've over 50.000 DNG files and I don't want to convert them to tiff or other formats and lost all the benefits of the RAW files.
    Thanks

Look at the video below- I think it will solve your problem.

  • Is Aperture 3.3 for me? I used to use picnik (don't laugh) :)

I recently upgraded to a 2012 MacBook Air 11 inch with 4GB of memory, 4,000 graphics etc. I take pictures with my Sony Cyber-shot 14.1 MP, 4x optical zoom, retractable lenses that says Carl Zeis Vario Tessar 2,7-5,7/4,7-18,8, my iPhone 4s, and my built in MacBook HD camera.I print my pictures with a HP photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One-C311a printer. I'm a 3rd year college student who takes pictures of vacations, parties, family, friends, and myself. I'm not a professional but have always been good at taking pictures and basic editing. I used to use picnik for editing until it shut down. However while using it I noticed my pictures weren’t looking as professional as I wanted them to look. I enjoyed smoothing the face, air brushing, getting rid of wrinkles, bags, lighting the pictures, making myself look thinner, whitening the teeth, and adding makeup. I have watched tutorials on YouTube and they make the editing look easy. I'm willing to take some time this summer and learn how to use Aperture, but I'm not for sure if it is simply out of my league. Also I don't want my $80 to go to waste. I don't see a free trial of Aperture so I'm nervous and would like some advice. Thanks....

O.K., now I see what you mean. You can achieve the airbrushed look in Aperture by using the Adjustments and brushing on local effects. With a little practice and experience you will be able to do this. It would however be easier to achieve using Aperture plug-ins. But some of them are quite expensive: See for example these:
    Ten super-cool plug-ins for Aperture

  • Moving Aperture libraries while keeping iMovie project video links intact.

I am in the process of moving my Aperture libraries off my internal drive to an external drive.  The problem I found is that by do so, my iMovie projects that were using video clips from the Aperture libraries now have broken source links.  I have all my video clips managd by Aperture, not referenced.
The way I moved the libraries was simply drap the library files to the new desitination.  I can see the original clips in iMovie's event library after the move and thumbnails are generated; but my project links are not updated.
My question is that is there a proper way doing this correctly so my iMovie project links are still intact after the move?  Thank you in advance for your helps.

I have exactly the same question as the OP. I've been into digital photography for a while, and have been using Aperture for a short time, but have JUST started to shoot some video for fun. Video goes into my Aperture library, but I'm just using iMovie to mess around with the video. I export short clips to YouTube for the family to view. Eventually, I'll put these projects on DVDs and I know I'll have to delete them from the Aperture library for space reasons.
How are people handling this? Should I just move the video directly to an external hard drive, for example?
    Thanks.

  • How to post .m4v slideshow video from Aperture to Gallery?

    Hello!
I have posted lots of photo albums from Aperture to my MobileMe Gallery, it's great.
Now I made a slideshow in Aperture and exported it as a video in MobileMe/YouTube format .m4v 640x360 but don't know how to upload it to my MobileMe Gallery in the "video" section, the me.com uploader refuses to upload it (it's small only 60 or so MB). Seems not possible to export to MobileMe from Aperture as the photos.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

Thanks! I did not know one could post from Quicktime player, very nice, thanks for the tip!
Now the only inconvenience is that it is posted to the user's main MobileMe account, and I have 5 (family account) and wanted it posted to another, but that's not critical at this time, I could just logout and login just before uploading. In Aperture it's better done since one can upload photos to whatever gallery you choose.
I hope the next versions of Aperture will allow uploading of video slideshows to MobileMe galleries, but in the meantime, your tip to use Quicktime is great!

  • How do I make a DVD from an Aperture 3 slideshow?

I am a new user to Aperture 3 and I was wondering if an Aperture slideshow (with video) can be exported to iMovie or IDVD so I can burn it to a disk? I see the information for viewing it on the iPhone or MobileMe but I didn't see anything indicating I could burn it to a DVD.

    Hi Terence,
I'm trying to do the same thing, but I don't see the option for Quicktime?
    I see:
    ipod
    Iphone/Ipod Touch
    mobile me/youtube
    appletv
    hd 720
    hd1080
and custom, which has h.264 and mpeg4
I don't see any options for a NTSC 16:9 uncompressed quicktime file which I can export to compressor for DVD compression before dropping into DVD Studio Pro?
I must be missing a step?
Cheers and thanks in advance for any help.

  • Aperture 3 Workflows; Help!!

    Hi,
I'm new to Macs and Aperture 3 and have tried to study up on youtube etc.. but still am very confused.
    I have photos sorted on my Mac from a holiday with sub folders;
    Nepal;
         Day 1
         Day 2
         Day 3
         ETC...
I want to import these into Aperture as a project/folder?? so I can sort / delete bad photos etc..  The sub folders contain Raw and Jpeg. The end result I want is to have a sorted project?? from the trip and then create a photobok to share with friends from the trip (this would be an album in the project right??).
My question is what is the best way to import and organise as I have to process the raw files too (these will become versions right???)
    Any help would be appreciated,
    Thanks
    Denny

    Try this:
File - Import - Folders as projects.
    - Choose your source folder for import: Nepal for instance.
Aperture will import all images and creates a folder called Nepal with projects for each subfolder (Day1,...).
You could choose instead Projects and albums. (Project Nepal. Album Day1,...)
    - Choose where to save your images. It is fine to keep them outside Aperture´s library. But you could decide to move or copy them into your library.
    - You could rename your images.
    - Choose one of the RAW + JPEG options.
    - click on import.
    Good luck!

  • Aperture 3 (or plug-in?) and Time Lapse Photo Question

I have tried to find the answer to this with my google-fu and have had no luck as of yet ... so here goes my question to you mac gurus:
I am planning on shaving my head/face and then growing my beard and hair untrimmed for several years and doing daily photos to create a time lapse series that can also be added to a slideshow etc. My problem is I want the eyes in the daily photos to line up perfectly for the final resulting slideshow/video. Other this doing this manually hundreds of times I am hoping I can use my mac to help. I have aperture 3 (which I love - great program!). My google searches only come back with cs5 AfterEffects method of doing this. I really do not wish to throw $600+ for this functionality if I can help it.
Is there a way to do this in Aperture 3? Or Aperture 3 plug-in?
See youtube link that I found as an example of what I am wanting to do (except on a much, much longer timeline): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbKKsx2xC64
    Thanks!

If you want to stick to Aperture for this work, you'll have to do it manually. (Aperture is for photo's not for movies and time-lapse is a movie type)

  • Adjustments change after reopening Aperture 3

I am working with Adobe 1998 colorspace TIFF scans from film. There have been adjustments made to exposure, saturation, levels and color. The photo looks great. I quit aperture.
Open re-open, I click on the image thumbnail. The thumbnail reflects how the photos looked as I left them from the adjustments during the last session. Unfortunately, as the image opens up, the brightness suddenly jumps one or two stops and a color cast (seems to be green) is added to the photo. Thing is, it appears that all the sliders are exactly as I've left them. This is affecting every photo I've worked upon, including those shot from digital cameras.
This is making my post-processing life ****. I cannot rely on my edits being retained open re-opening the photos!
    I am using Aperture 3.1.1

Thank you for the notes and questions. I've done the following:
1> I've removed all preferences and aperture files in ~/library and /library that pertains to aperture, including a re-install. Behavior persists
2> I've attempted to work on these TIFF files prior to the latest RAW update and after the latest RAW update. Behavior persists
3> I've created an entirely NEW library and placed two TIFF images into it. Rebuilt this library and the other two options. Behavior persists.
4> I've changed my monitor color profile to Apple RGB and Adobe RGB (1998) but this behavior persists across all color profiles.
5> Behavior occurs if ON-SCREEN PROOFING is turned ON or OFF.
6> I've upgraded to OS X 10.6.6 last night and the problem continues.
I've screen captured the actual behavior and uploaded it onto YouTube. You'll see that once I close the program and re-open, the image opens and then color shifts a moment later:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUjbeLQOWXU
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. The behavior is not consistent but I've found changing the tint to be the most reliable way of reproducing it. I've got some big client projects in the pipeline and I would like this headache to go away I really would rather not learn Lightroom!

  • Aperture 3 display wrong image while editing (video example)

Aperture 3, clean install, running on an upgraded Aperture 2 library. Whenever I make a change to a photo, Aperture displays the previous photo on the screen. It correctly edits the photo I have selected, it just displays the wrong image while doing so. Anyone else have this issue?
    Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bRI9xFBEKI

It seems you have a rare problem.
If the advice already given regarding upgrades fixes thing then all well and good.
If not you might try Matthew Bergsmas tip in:-
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2357072&tstart=0
    This reads as follows:-
Go to the finder and move everything in these folders to the trash:
    Hard Drive/Library/Caches
    Hard Drive/System/Library/Caches
    Hard Drive/Users/Your username/Library/Caches
    Then reboot.
    =====
Aperture will rebuild the caches but give it time.
