Aperture v3.1 Serial not Valid

Hi all,
I'm trying to re-install Aperture 3.1 onto a new machine and running into an 'invalid serial' error.
My pathway to Aperture 3.1 has been:
I had a licensed version of Aperture 2 > bought an upgrade license for Aperture 3.0
Now, when I'm trying to use my upgrade serial number on a fresh install of Aperture 3.1 it's telling me that the number isn't valid!
I tried calling Apple US support but I'm based in the UK, and I'm guessing my accent isn't working on their voice recognition system. Can anyone help? I've tried trash the ProApps folder, and the prefs file and nothing seems to work. And I'm not even sure how to contact Apple directly on this one, as they don't take email queries(!).

You said in the opening comment that you trashed the ProApps folder, so link #1 may be a dead end.
Note - trashing the whole folder also removes 'Internal Plug-Ins' folder which houses the browser kit files for iLife and FileSystem. I know the 'iLife.bkplugin' folder is created by the iLife update offered by Software Update. I also know that the 'FileSystem.bkplugin' folder is created by the Aperture installer. I am not sure what impact this may have on an upgrade attempt.
Link #2 has to do with a file named 'com.apple.aelwriter.plist' in the '/Library/LaunchDaemons' folder (which is installed by the Aperture installer). Other than launching at startup, I am not sure what this file does, but I would guess it is a licensing function of some sort.
Other than those ideas, I am not sure what path to offer other than to perform a clean install of OS, which is probably not needed if the correct files can be identified for either removal or perhaps replacement if they can be copied over from the Time Machine backup.
Hopefully others will offer some solutions.

pasted the serial number into DW's screen that asks for the serial

Fianl Cut Express HD 3.5 pre-installed serial # not valid

I just bought a new 24" iMac and had apple pre-install Fianl cut express 3.5 and when I try to open it, it asks for the serial number which I have input but it does not recognize the number! I have tried every combination of alphas and 0's instead of the letter O. The serial number printing is small and even with a magnifying glass it is hard to distinquish if one or two letters are 0's or a Q 0 for what may be a Q but keep getting an error saying the serial number is not valid.
Have tried to contact apple but have not been able to talk with a person yet.
This is the second day of trying. Yesterday they were transfering me to the pro support? group but we were disconnected before the transfer went thru! Have called three times today but have been hold each time. Still waiting!

Hi all,
I recently buyed one more CS4 Web Premium Licence,
when I enter the serial to activate it (serial number is the same of the other licence I own),
it says it is invalid.
I'm sorry for asking here for a solution, but Italian Adobe support is simply not existant,
and after about 3 weeks the only answers I received where "there is none who can help you on multi-licence products".

Aperture 2 Serial Number not valid from 1.5

Hi,
I have just purchased Aperture 2 but when installing on my new mac it is saying that the serial number from Aperture 1.5 is not valid. Triple checked but still no luck.
Any ideas please would be great!

Are you sure your 1.5 is not an academic version or an NFR? Those are not eligible for upgrade.

Serial Number Not Valid -new store-bought Aperture 2

I recently bought Aperture 2 from the Mac store.
The serial number they provided is not valid. I have checked many times - the letters are in caps, and I have included all dashes.
I had no trial version of Aperture prior to this.
Please help!

Just call 1-800-SOS-APPL and they will resolve it for you.

Unhappily the serial number Apple ([email protected]) has sent to me for Aperture Trial is not valid!
Was that a spam? Does Apple want that nobody try Aperture? What can I do?

I have a similar problem. I installed the trial, and
it worked okay, until I updated it through Software
Update. So I trashed the program and thought I would
reinstall the version which was linked in the e-mail
that contained my serial number. Now I can't
reinstall it because it says that it was installed
before.
Grrrrrrrrrrr...
If you want to reinstall you have to delete the aperture files in system/receipts. These files tell the system what has been installed and will not allow a reinstall if they are present.

Trial download "The serial number you entered is not valid" ?

I have just downloaded the trial version of the new aperture software but when I try to enter the serial number (Copy and pasted from the email) it says the serial number is not valid.
Any ideas? I do not have any previous versions on my macbook as I only recently became a mac user.
I have been sent the same serial number to 2 seperate email addresses so is there another way of getting a different number?

If you already have a licensed copy of Aperture in your Applications folder, you need to move or rename it before installing the Aperture 2 trial.
BUT the apple Website still downloads 1.5.6, which is a free update.
I have the right serial trial number beginning with an "E" et not a "D", but
obviously 1.5.6 does not request it.
We'll have to wait Apple doing its homework : in fact, the right procedure is :
1/ request the serial number
2/ download Ap. 2 from the hyperlink in the mail AND NOT from the Aperture website page.

CS3 is unsupported under Windows 8. That said, you'll need to contact Adobe
directly for serial number issues.

Confirmed serial number valid but when I do set up says not valid

I managed to get a tech on chat who confirmed my serial number for CS6 Master Suite was valid but when I do set up and enter sn it says it is not valid.

When I tried to type this in for registration, it does register as this numbers also contain letters in it. Apparently the registration boxes accept numbers only. What do I do with a useless product for which I have paid good money for it?????

This is the simple solution which was offered to me when I tried to get the serial code on line.
The box and disc sleeve do not contain a series with 24 numbers which I presume is the product code to install.
I tried to redeem the registration code by following what they recommended, but inevitably it gets to the page that showed the registration boxes that need 24 serial numbers and I got stuck again.
This product is so different what my previous experiences of other software products where I just enter the serial number straight from the disc sleeve and then I got registered and go on to use the software.
I is really frustrating, spending the last two hours trying to get my product going....

i'm Italian and recently I downloaded the trial version of Flash Professional... when the 30 days ended I was asked to fill in a serial number! And that's the problem: my teacher gave me several serial numbers but they are not valid!
Please, speak Italian if you can! If not no problem! I'm fluent in English too!

Cloud programs do not use serial numbers... you log in to your PAID Cloud account to download & install & activate... you MAY need to log out of the Cloud and restart your computer and log back in to the Cloud for things to work

Adobe acrobat pro 9 keeps telling me "the serial number I entered is not valid"

I recently had my macbook pro logic board fail and had to purchase a new macbook pro (expensive reinvestment after only 3 years but that's another story).
Anyway, all of my cs4 upsell products loaded just fine, except adobe acrobat pro 9 keeps telling me "the serial number I entered is not valid." After contacting adobe thru chat several times, here is the info I got back: my serial number IS valid, I still can activate 3 more times (deactivation was not an issue in this case), the final answer was the cs1 server (my previous version before cs4) is no longer available which basically renders my version of acrobat unusable. Is that really the case? Now that I have a new computer I can't use that software any longer it was working fine on my old laptop? Why did all the other software load okay? Did I miss something or is buying another upgrade neccessary?
ps: using Macbook Pro with MacOS X.8.5

Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver are all working just fine. I haven't needed any other apps yet since the reinstall. Install actually worked fine too for Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 but when I try to open anything in it I get the Software Setup Screen and it wants me to enter the serial number for the product, when I do it says the serial number is invalid. I included a screen shot below with the serial number removed so you can see. In chatting with adobe, my rep said it is a valid number (obviously since it worked fine on my other apps), but the server for CS1 is no longer available and since I have an upsell from CS1 they cannot offer me support and to take my question to the forum board, so here I am.

I need to download Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard because my new computer doesn not have cd media. When I put my serial number in, it says it is not valid.

My new computer does not have CD media so I need to download Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard online. I am able to download but when it prompts me for the serial number, it says my number is not valid. I have double and triple checked, the serial number has been entered EXACTLY as it says on the box. What could be causing this?

Adobe acrobat 9 standard you will need to use a computer which does contain an optical drive and copy the contents to a USB drive. You can then install from the USB drive on your computer which does not include an optical drive. Unfortunately if you did not choose download at the time of purchase then I am not aware of any download locations for the installation files.
