Aperture Valut restore partially failed - but no error messages
After re-installing my macbook I restored my aperture valut. It all went fine or at least I thought so until I found several empty projects (where I know a lot of pictures should have been stored)
Luckilly I thougt, I also have exports of old projects on DVD. When restoring one of the empty projects (67MB) from DVD the folder was still empty!!!
Any ideas?

No, this was a clean install... unless filtering can also be saved/restored via a vault?
However... the problem seems to be solved...
When making the vault (before re-installing my macbook) I was running on Snow Leopard.
When restoring my vault I had not yet made the last update to Snow Leopard (don't recall
the versions)
I did that this morning - and when going through my projects it now works.... Just have to
check them all now I guess...

In the simplest sense, archiving a file means making a copy that you never change and never discard. You already know how to do that.
iPhoto has built-in archival features, in the sense that it saves all versions of an image that you've modified. As long as you have adequate backups, you don't necessarily have any reason to archive an iPhoto library. If you want to delete images from the working library but still have access to them in case you change your mind, then you do need to archive those images. I don't have a specific suggestion as to how you should do that. You might post a question in the iPhoto forum. -
ok - my ipod touch is stuck on the itunes screen. Have tried shutting it off, plugging it into my windows computer, and it does recognize that it's there. it goes to restore mode, then immediately goes to restore and update. then back to restore mode, then an error message. don't know where to go from here, any suggestions?

Hello, I'm encountering a very strange behavior of Swing. I have an application (all used components are Swing) using Java3D (but I don't think that would cause my problems).
The GUI renders fine most of time, but sometimes (almost randomly) some JPanels are not rendered properly - it looks like just eg. their top and left 10% are rendered and then this small piece is repeated over the whole JPanel. I don't even know if it is only the problem of JPanels. This description wouldn't say you much, so I rather provide some screenshots.

I am able to raise this behavior explicitly by throwing an uncaught exception in my swing-handling code.
What is worse, sometimes it happens without an uncaught exception (but always it is in response to some user action - selecting a value in combobox, pressing a button or so). I've searched all my code for some blocks that could catch an exception and not write it out to the console, but no such place is in my code. So I know my code doesn't throw any uncaught exceptions.
Maybe the problem could be in a library I use, I don't know.
I've even tried to add a uncaught exception listener to both Thread and the EDT, but no exception was written out.
I'm lost in debugging this, so please help me finding some good start points to find the cause of this problem. Thank you all very much.Hello,

Hi, i had the same problem. Try to find the file "apple" or "itunes" don't know it anymore exactly. Ahm well you need to delet any information or just plug in your iphone into an other computer. important is that your iphone never has been pluged in this computer before. This was what i did, and it worked!

Try to disable your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes it work.
You may need to delete the temp folder (%TEMP%) to remove the old files. -

FM SSF_CLOSE failing and giving error message while printing a smartform

for language spanish the smartform is not getting printed for output type SG11 but for english it is getting printed? What could be the reason? I debugged and found that SSF_CLOSE is failing and giving error message.

Export release build failed with an error message: complilation failed while excuting : compile-abc
I updated air sdk from 4.0 to 16.0 beta to fix apple app store submitting bug. I can build the project and run it on simulator without any problem. But when I tried to export the ios release build, I got this error message: complilation failed while excuting : compile-abc.
I use commmand line to excute compile-abc.exe with the parameters that adt gives it, but it failed without any error message.
Here is the command line:

There's a empty file AOTBuildOutput-0000001821_1821.o left in the command line workaroud path. I opened file AOTBuildOutput-0000001821.abc, but didn't get any clue. To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List. -

When I try to package a file with a lot of links, the Indesign CC packaging process fails with the error message "Unable to copy necessary file(s)". I am able to make a PDF of the same file, but when packaking the process fails every time. The app does not crash, just gives an error message. What gives?
(I'm using a MacBook Pro Retina Display with 16 GB RAM, running OS 10.9 and all CC 9.1 updated with the latest patches).@John – that's really strange… the thing with the file names depending on the file type. That could eleminate Mavericks a bit from the equation and put the weight more on InDesign CC.
Provided:
1. You give it a go with InDesign CS6 v8.0.2 and tests are showing it will work fine in this regard.
2. The same composite characters are present in both file types, the ai files and the PhotoShop ones. On a Mac OSX characters for files and folders can consist of "composite" components:
ü for example is a two component one: the u and the two dots above the u. On a machine with MS Windows, this is not the case…
InDesign CC was programmed from scratch for a 64 bit architecture. So it could be a severe bug in InDesign CC.
Maybe other readers in this forum could test for these cases…

10.5.3 Update on Macbook Pro Hangs -- won't install
I am trying to install the 10.5.3 MacBook Pro Update from Software Update. The update downloads successfully, then asks for restart. I confirm, and then the screen clears, and I get a installation progress dialog that hangs indefinitely saying "Confi
