Aperture version of a picture package

Would like to print four 4x5 or three 6x4 0n an 8.5 x11 sheet of paper. I have come from windows and Photoshop how can this be done in apertre

I don't do packages myself, but I've read about several users who do use the book function to do this.
If you create a book that has a "page" for each of your most common package configurations, it seems like most of the added complication would only hit you once. "Set it and forget it".
Once you have the book template designed, it's just a matter of laying out the photos on the specific page(s) you need for that order, and printing it out.
And the addition of custom page sizes for books in Aperture 2 means you ought to now be able to print a package print to any size paper you desire (not just the ones supported by Apple's system). That should be sufficiently flexible for you to do any layout you can dream up.

  • Aperture missing "Picture Package"equivalent to photoshop???

Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems that aperture is limited to printing very crude contact sheets that really do not compare to photoshops "picture package".
Basically I tried to print two 8x12s(different images) on a 13x19 photo paper. Ultimately I ended up going into photoshop where I resized the two images to 8x12s and positioned them onto a new 13x19 canvas. This then was a newly created file that I reimported back into aperture. I know this is not really a good work flow, but it seems that aperture has not even thought out a very crude picture package equivalent to photoshop
Also there is no measurement showing inches just pixels. It would be nice if they could show a ruler layout on the image it self similar to photoshop. Resizing in photoshop is much more practicle and straight forward.
I here that lightroom is far better for printing packages also.
Does any one agree about these shortcommings???

This is a glaring omission that has been noted since day 1 of Aperture 1.0, made more frustrating by the very robust printing features available in Lightroom. Surely Apple is aware of the problem, and hopefully they will find a fix in 1.6 or 2.0 or whatever comes next, but it's aggravating to know that a fairly sophisticated app like Aperture requires shareware oddities like ImageBuddy or Portraits-n-Prints in order to get packages working.
Time to fix this one, Apple. (Get the book tool working usefully while you're at it too!)

  • When will a 64 bit version of Picture Package be available for CC?

    Hi all,
Does anyone know when a 64 bit version of Picture Package will be available for Photoshop CC?
    Thanks.

According to this, PP/CS has not been supported since CS5, so I'd sat it was unlikely it will be updated for CC

We get quite a few references to it here though, so maybe someone has come up with a workaround.
Anyone know of third party scripts or plugins?

  • Picture package plug-in might be in wrong folder in cs4

My problem is this.  I successfully installed the Picture Package plugin for PS CS4 but then ran into a problem with the computer and had to go to an earlier restore point.  After restoring the computer I needed to reinstall Picture Package. When I installed the plug-in I must have accidentally installed it in the wrong folder. I've repeatedly tried to reinstall it from the exe file but I get the message "not enough memory, or don't have write privileges."  I suspect one can't install Picture package twice.  But now my problem is that I don't know into which folder Picture Package installed so that I can move it to the right folder.  Or do I need to unistall the plug-in and try again.  But how do I do that?

  • Picture package in ps cs6

There is a pitfall using smart objects if you create templates and use  replace content to to replace the embedded object to create a picture package for other images.  For it to work well the replacement object need to be the same size as the original object.  All the smart object layers in a picture package share a common single smart object.  Each smart object layer has an associated transform which is not replaced or changed when you replace the embedded smart object content.  If the replacement object size is not the same as the original image the associated transforms may produce something you not expecting....
I posted this a few days ago:
If you are using windows and perpetual CS6 version not the subscription CS6 version you can install the CS5 optional Plug-in and get Picture Package working.    CS6 subscription version removed some Plug-in support that is used by the CS5 Pictture Package plug-in.    Mac users can not use Picture package in any version of CS6. The CS5 Mac picture package plug-in is a 32bit Plug-in and CS6 is 64bit only.
Window and Mac users can use  Contact Sheet II however IMO its nothing like a Picture Package feature.    I have made available a Photo Collage Toolkit for Photoshop.  In it there is a script PasteImageRoll that is more like a Picture Package function for a single tile size Picture Package then Contact Sheet II.  I also modified my Batch collage script to populate a collage template using a single image file for all image location.  So you can Populate a template of your design as a Picture Package.
Paste Image Roll Script and Picture Package Support Documentation.   Photo Collage Toolkit Documentation and Examples
Note: My batch script was written to populate collages its operation will be much slower then Photoshop old Picture Package plug-in. The script will save layered PSD files which can tweak before you print.   Paste Image Roll script requires no template and just creates a new document which it tiles your images into.  It does not save or print it just creates a layer document which can tweak and print.  You can also Flatten and save an image file.

  • Pse 13 printing picture package

I recently upgraded to PSE 13 and the old way of printing picture packages no longer seems available. How do I print a picture package? thanks.

Which operating system are you using with pse 13?
Which version of photoshop elements and operating system were you using before?
How were you printing the picture package in your older version?

  • How to get picture package to work again

I made the mistake of downloading the Yosemite operating system and now cannot get the picture package to work again.  I have switched to  32 bit  but this time it did not solve the problem.  Again I really need help.  I am using an iMac and have Photoshop version CS5.1
    Mary

Did you look in the photoshop cs5.1 plugins folder to see if the ContactSheetII.plugin and WebContactSheetII.plugin are still there?
On some peoples systems, upgrading to Yosemite, for some reason, deletes some of the photoshop cs5/cs5.1 files.

  • 16 bit Picture Package

I would like to have a Picture Package plugin that can produce 16 bit images from 16 bit files and runs with Photoshop in 64 bit mode on a Mac.

Adobe changed plug-in support In the Subscription version of CS6 so some old plugins like Picture Package and Web Photo Galery no longer work.
Adobe does not do a good regression testing they do not maintain Photoshop so it backwards compatible with previous versions of Photoshop.  They remove features they have added and break features. Its a good idea to keep old version and not so old version of  Photoshop around.
CC 2014 added and removed features and removes some support.
I have written Photoshop scripts that I use to do thing like Picture Package and Web Photo Gallery.
Paste Image Roll Script and Picture Package Support

  • My new Photoshop CS4 doesn't have 'Picture Package'...?

I go to File > automate and Picture Package is not in the pop up menu. I can't access it from Bridge either Tools > Photoshop...Photoshop help says it is still a feature in CS4. What step am I missing? a bug?

What PDF plug-in are you talking about Dave? The picture package plug-in
that was in Photoshop wasn't a PDF plug-in, it didn't generate PDF files. It
took your picture package back in to Photoshop as a regular Photoshop
document, the same with the contact sheet plug-in. The complaint has nothing
to do with a PDF plug-in, it has to do with Adobe fixing it so that the only
output method (like the slideshow in Lightroom) is the very crAAppy PDF
format. They took away functionality just to push their format, now if their
format was appropriate and was what most people were using when the plug-in
was in Photoshop then that is fine, but I can bet you that most people after
using the plug-in in Photoshop didn't save it as PDF all that often. More
likely it was either printed and then trashed or printed and then saved as a
TIF or PSD or JPG. That is my complaint.
As for the crack post, well I would suggest you pull you head out of yours
and at least pretend that you have a clue about what is being said. Equating
my complaint to crack is just stupid.
As for ImageReady we have known for several versions that ImageReady was at
first a lame duck and then a dead one and that become very clear once Adobe
bought Macromedia. Fireworks is a 1000 times the program ImageReady was.

  • Is the add in "Picture Package" available for Photoshop CC?

In Photoshop CS 5, I had an add-in called "Picture Package"   It was very handy to print multiple prints in various sizes.  Is this available to use in Photoshop CC?

Was removed in cs6. However in CS6 pretetual version Windows the cs5 Plugin will work. Will not work in any scuscription version of Phoroshop.
My Photo Collage Toolkit can do Picture packages with a template or tiles with its Paste Image Roll script
Paste Image Roll script and Picture Package support documentation
    http://www.mouseprints.net/old/dpr/PasteImageRoll.jsx
    Photo Collage Toolkit
Photoshop scripting is powerful and I believe this package demonstrates this A video showing a 5 image collage PSD template  being populates with images:
The package includes four simple rules to follow when making Photo Collage Template PSD files so they will be compatible with my Photoshop scripts.
Size the photo collage templates for the print size you want - width, height and print DPI resolution.
Photo collage templates must have a Photoshop background layer. The contents of this layer can be anything.
Photo collage templates must have alpha channels named "Image 1", "Image 2", ... "Image n".
Photo collage templates layers above the background layers must provide transparent areas to let the images that will be placed below them show through.
There are twelve scripts in this package they provide the following functions:
TestCollageTemplate.jsx - Used to test a Photo Collage Template while you are making it with Photoshop.
CollageTemplateBuilder.jsx - Can build Templates compatible with this toolkit's scripts.
LayerToAlphaChan.jsx - Used to convert a Prototype Image Layer stack into a template document.
InteractivePopulateCollage.jsx - Used to interactively populate Any Photo Collage template. Offers most user control inserting pictures and text.
ReplaceCollageImage.jsx - use to replace a populated collage image Smart Object layer with an other image correctly resized and positioned.
ChangeTextSize.jsx - This script can be used to change Image stamps text size when the size used by the populating did not work well.
PopulateCollageTemplate.jsx - Used to Automatically populate a Photo Collage template and leave the populated copy open in Photoshop.
BatchOneImageCollage.jsx - Used to Automatically Batch Populate Collage templates that only have one image inserted. The Collage or Image may be stamped with text.
BatchMultiImageCollage.jsx - Used to Automatically Batch Populate Any Photo Collage template with images in a source image folder. Easier to use than the interactive script. Saved collages can be tweaked.
BatchPicturePackage.jsx - Used to Automatically Batch Populate Any Photo Collage template with an image in a source image folder
PasteImageRoll.jsx - Paste Images into a document to be print on roll paper.
PCTpreferences.jsx - Edit This File to Customize Collage Populating scripts default setting and add your own Layer styles.

  • Picture package plug-in for CS5

I put picture package onto my CS5 for Windows.  I figured out where to put the plug-in, but now whenever I start-up Photoshop, I get an error message that says, "Could not load Bigger Tiles module because it does not work with this version of photoshop."  Is there a way to correct this or at least get this error message to quit popping up everytime I start Photoshop?

It sounds as though you've installed an old plug-in that used to be required to make Photoshop use bigger tiles in its display.  Photoshop CS5 no longer uses that method of requesting bigger tiles and has moved that configurability into the Edit - Preferences - Performance dialog.
Find the file you added to the Photoshop CS5 installation called Bigger Tiles.8bx and delete it.
It will probably be in one of these places:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Plug-ins
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\Plug-ins
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)\Plug-ins
Did you copy other files as well?  I ask because if you have copied other files that are inappropriate for this version of Photoshop you may have other problems down the line.

Photos that have been deleted to aperture trash cannot be viewed. Any assistance is welcome in fixing this bug. The showing all files option is selected in the filter. System is 10.8.4. Aperture version 3.4.5. Used to be able to view the files then all of a sudden they have stop appearing. Once the aperture trash is emptied the files can be viewed in the system trash. Becomes quite annoying if you want to review the aperture trash files before deletion.

In the most recent version I cannot get this trick to work, however. But try it anyway, maybe it is just my macthat has an issue.
Did this happen directly after the update? Where is your library located, on an external or an internal drive? Are your originals managed or referenced?
I'd try next to check, if this is caused by the library, by creating a small test library and trying to trash pictures there. If it works well in a new library try to repair the database and the permissions on your regular library.  See:
