Aperture won't allow update vault

since update to 10.8 I've been having problems with aperture like vault wont update(will freez up), dodge&burn tools not working right, overall performance slow. I trashed the app and reloaded seems somewhat better but my computer still freezes when trying to update vault ?

Mozilla's plugin check site only considered the current plugin 11 series to be up-to-date, so you'll have to rely on Adobe to keep you on the latest Reader X and plugin 10. You can use Help > Check for Updates in Adobe Reader X to watch for updates.
* Adobe Flash PlayerRealNetworks(tm) RealDownloader PepperFlashVideoShim Plug-In - this is something supplied by RealDownloader and most likely would be updated when you update that software.

App store says app installed and won't allow update to latest version. My Mac has Iworks from a disc but I can't seem to update to the latest version of Number, Keynote or pages in the App store. The app store identifies the applications as installed but doesn't update them since they were installed from Iworks disc.

Do you mean you were storing the documents in iCloud and now you can't see them from Numbers? If so, you probably need to check to see that iCloud is configured to work with Numbers.
Here in System Preferences > iCloud make sure 'Documents and Data' is checked:
And, after clicking 'Options...', make sure that 'Numbers.app' is checked.
You should be able to see the documents in iCloud when you go up to the title bar at the top of the screen and choose 'iCloud' in the 'Where:' dropdown:

Aperture 3.3 stuck updating vault (not database)

I've read the woes getting the Aperture database to upgrade to V3.3. I have a different twist on the problem:
I successfully updated Aperture to 3.3 including having the new version upgrade my library to be compatible. I have worked with it and the images (I use reference images) and I haven't noticed any problems.
So now the little two arrow circle associated with the vault is red. I have clicked on it to update it. And "bam" I have the same problem. Aperture indicates it is upgrading (I assume the vault) and the dialog box in centered in the screen, not pinned to the top as in previous vault back ups. Like others have experienced, it eventually gets stuck in step 7 at 99%.
I've done the Option-Command start selecting in turn repair permission. repair database, & rebuild. Still it seems to get stuck at the same place. I'll admit I have not waited hours to see if it finishes because the database is already at V3.3 (& I'm impatient and have things to do).
I've also done all the other voodoo with Disk Utility and restarting. Same result.
Unless I get any other suggestions I think my best option is to create a new vault.
Leaving for the day but I'll check back for feedback later.

Thanks Frank. I had already done it successfully. I wanted to post it because I know most problems seem to be happening during the library upgrade. And though exactly the same in symptoms this is different. It took me a few minutes to think it through. It does make sense that the vault would also have to upgraded as well as updated but the terms are simialr enough to be confused.

Help! Apple ID won't allow update of Apps

My daughter's iPad will not allow me to update several of her apps. When I try to update them it will not recognize my Apple ID. I can download a new app from the App Store without an issue. I deleted the account and reloaded it without a problem. Des anyone have an idea what's going on and how can I fix this issue.

Contact iTunes store support. Or the game developer. If the compromised account was used to make in app purchases in the game that were reversed, the developer may refuse to permit you to purchase from in the app using that account.

I now have a screen that says I need to plug into i tunes.

You can't update to iOS 7.1.1, you can only update to the current version i.e. 7.1.2

Nightly 15.0a1 (2012-05-22) won't allow updates to be installed (I get "Install Pending")

Trying to update from 15.0a1 (2012-05-22) to the latest version (any since 5/22/2012). When the update applies, I either receive a "Install Pending" message and nothing happens, or the "Applying update..." just spins. I've restarted with add-ons disabled and in safemode, but nothing changes.
I've also downloaded the latest Nightly and installed fresh (albeit without uninstalling the existing build).
Any thoughts?

OK, I found the latest version firefox-16.0a1.en-US.win64-x86_64.installer.exe and installed it. Now I get no bookmarks toolbar showing (I have tried all my themes including reverting to the default), I can click "customize" to change the toolbars the first time only and then from then on it is greyed out until I restart nightly, I can't click in the search window... did this get tested at all? I wish I could revert to the previous version and put up with the update messages. I will have to give up on nightly and go back to the standard version or try chrome.

With only one attempt left, it is unlikely that we will be able to be of any help. The next time it is entered wrong, your BB will wipe itself clean of all of your data. There is no way to stop it. None. You must get the password correct on the next attempt. There's no way for us to know what password you used...so you must try to see if you can get it right. Don't do what you've already tried...you already know it does not work. Sorry, but it looks like you will be restoring from your most recent backup.

Formatted to 10.4.0 - won't allow updating to 10.4.9

I recently formatted due to massive performance issues on my g4 powerbook (titanium). Reloaded to w/ the 10.4.0 install disk with no issue. Now, when i go to upgrade to 10.4.9 it says that the disk doesn't contain the necessary software.

Are you using Software Update or are you downloading the updater? If you're downloading the updater, make sure you're downloading the 10.4.10 Combo Updater, not the smaller incremental updater which will only work with 10.4.9.

Strange icon that won't allow update of Adobe Flash Player 17 for mac

When I download the newest Adobe Flash update for mac I get a strange icon.
When I double click to launch the update file, I get an even stranger window full of gibberish.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions I'm open. I have gone through every help file I can find for Adobe and nothing has helped so far.

Please remove the .mdlp from the file name, so that it ends in just .dmg.
We are seeing this behaviour with users that have MathLab installed and we are investigating why this is happening. FWIW, this happens to other software DMG files as well, not just the Flash Player installer. For some reason, when users have MathLab installed, when the DMG file is downloaded, it appends the .mdlp extension to it. When users attempt to launch it, instead of being opened with DiskImageMounter, which is what OS X uses to open DMG files, it opens using MathLab and the result is what you posted. If this happens in the future, just delete '.mdlp' from the file name and DiskImageMounter will open the DMG, instead of MathLab.

CS5 InDesign crashing incessantly - Won't allow update - Other Programs in Suite work.. Help?

Upgraded from CS2 to CS5 recently, and since then InDesign will NOT open. I simply get the 'Unable to open' dialouge with options to Ignore / Send-Report / Reopen.
I've been at this for a few hours reading through forums and I have tried the following:
Find and delete Preferece files - except the 'Library' folder isn't where it should be (It's in Macintosh HD>Library and not in Macintosh>Users>[USER]>Library)... could this be the issue?
I've tried to CMD-OPT-CTRL-SHIFT the Preference files to delete them, with success, but it doesn't help - still crashes.
Any help from this community would be capital'A' Awesome! Thank you so much in advance. I imagine that I would upgrade to CS6 without issue, but I'd rather not.

Sounds like you are using Lion or later, and the files are now hidden. See Access hidden user library files | Mac OS 10.7 Lion
That crash is familiar, but I'm sorry to say I don't recall for sure the exact cause. My memory was that trashing prefs would fix it, though, which apparently it didn't, so that may be wrong.
Do you run a font manager?

Top Sites won't allow update (Safari 5.1)

I cannot for the life of me add a page to my top sites. I have two windows open: one is "Top Sites" prepped for editing, the other has the URL of the website I want to add to "Top Sites". I highlight the desired URL and drag it over the Top Sites page, and nothing happens. I have unpinned selections on Top Sites, I have tried dropping the URL on those, at the top of the page, at the bottom of the page, in the URL field at the top of the window (which takes me to the page - bad). Nothing. What am I doing wrong? Or, is it NOT MY FAULT?!

From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Empty Cache.
Restart your Mac.
Launch Safari Try adding a page to Top Sites.

Yosemite won't allow update of iWork's with current ID

iWork's was preinstalled at purchase. Had to change my Apple ID last year as I had an email problem. App Store doesn't recognize my new Apple ID for the preinstalled apps.

Aperture locks up when trying to update Vaults.

When I try to update vault I get the spinning beach ball and Aperture becomes unresponsive. I have to use force quit to exit the application.

I'm having the very same problem. This is bad news. I upgraded to Mavericks last week, and then had to update Aperture. Now it says my 400+GB library has to update, and then at the end it won't complete. I've done this with a three months older copy of the library.
Apple, you need to figure this out--I'm a working professional and now I don't have access to 4-5 years worth of work--this is serious. My library appears to be corrupted.

App store keeps asking for old owner's password when I try to download updates, even though I am logged into my Apple account. It won't allow me to change ID to mine.

I bought a used iMac recently, and sometimes the app store asks for the user password of the previous owner (and displays former owner's ID). It won't allow me to change ID to mine, even though I am signed into store with my own account (and this is shown in dropdown menu). How can I make the store recognize my ID for downloads?

It is showing updates because your machine is tied to the original purchase and will remain so until you wipe the drive.
As you purchased it used and the seller obviously did not do what he was supposed to do and that is erase the hard drive and reinstall the original system, you will run in to far more difficult problems when you need to reinstall for whatever reason. The new licensing requirements are that any mac is sold with the original OS - any OS or app obtained at the app store is NOT transferable and the buyer needs to purchase their own license. That means you will not be able to reinstall the OS.
At some point, you will need to try to get either the original install disks (from the seller or Apple) and wipe your drive and reinstall. Then you can download your own licensed copy of Mavericks and any apps you want.
