Aperture won't save the serial number under Snow Leopard

When purchasing the unibody MBP17 in the last month, had Aperture (2.1.4) pre-installed. Worked fine under Leopard, no problems. Upgraded to Snow Leopard this past Friday and when launching Aperture, the program never has the serial number filled in. I have to enter the serial number each time I launch the program.
Anyone else notice this problem? If so, any ideas on how to solve it?
Thanks in advance
Roger

Yeah, I've discovered I have the same problem. Sorry to say that I haven't discovered a solution.

  • Aperture looking (but not accepting) Serial number after Snow Leopard upgrade

I have a problem with Aperture. I upgraded my Macbook Pro to Aperture 3 from 2 and my OS to Snow Leopard and now when I launch Aperture is looks for the serial number. No problem, I punch in the serial number from original packaging (Apertue 1.5) and it tells me the number is invalid!!! Tried the numbers from the various upgrades (Aperture 2 and 3) and it tells me they are upgrade serial numbers and to insert the original.
What is going on? Any suggestions people? Need help urgently. Considering a reinstall but am afraid.
The fear harks back to my Windows days - This is the kind of nonsense I had when I was a slave to Mr Gates. Come on Apple, its supposed to be easy, right?

Don't you have another thread open with this exact problem, except there you upgraded to 10.5.8  and were supposedly running Aperture 3 in 10.4?
Anyway have you tried the advice I posted in the other thread?

  • I've just bought a MacBook Pro The system won't recognise the serial number even tho I've typed it in carefully several times The helpline is closed Any ideas?

I've just bought a MacBook Pro The system won't recognise the serial number which I've copied very carefully several times from the underside of the computer
The helpline is closed Any ideas? I don't know what the operating system is - how do I find that out?

What are you trying to do?
The operating system can be found by going to the Apple menu and selecting "About this Mac"
Under "Mac OS X" should be the Version 10.6.x, clicking Software Update will update the operating system via the internet.

Designerdan21 are you still facing difficulties utilizing your serial number for Photoshop Elements 12?  If so then please contact our support team at Adobe - Contact Support – Download and Installation.  I would also recommend reviewing Find your serial number quickly - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html.

  • CS6 Production Premium installed on my G5 but won't validate the serial number on my imac

CS6 Production Premium installed on my G5 but won't validate the serial number on my imac? I'm sure you can install this version on 3 machines to use non simultaniously, why will it accept the serial on one machine but not another?

No, you can only activate on 2 machines. The rest sounds fishy. A G5 by no means meets even the basic specs for any of the video programs du to not being intel and not being 64bit. Even PS wouldn't install on such a machine, so I'm slightly wondering what you actually installed or what machine you are referring to...

  • Trying to download and install CS6 on CC and it won't take the serial number for my Mac

trying to download and install CS6 on CC and it won't take the serial number for my Mac

Cloud products don't use serial numbers. That includes downloading CS6 through the Cloud (if that is what you're doing). Hence Ned's query.
Install CS6 via your Cloud membership using the steps outlines here:
Install a previous version of any Creative Cloud application

  • My licensed copy of CS6 downloads but won't accept the serial number

I have a licensed copy of Photoshop CS6 (supplied only as a download by Adobe).  Following a computer crash, I needed to re-install CS6, the download completed, the software then asked for the serial no. which I duly entered, and despite the fact it is the registered number for this software (also shown in our Adobe account and from my own records), adobe will not register it, instead a window pops up after entering the required details, claiming that the registered number is not for the product it just downloaded.  This is a total contradiction of what is clearly shown on their own log of my purchases, which show exactly the same number entered for my copy of CS6.  Of course, despite the fact I only bought the damn software 9  months ago, they do not allow access to support in order for them to correct something that is clearly Adobe's own bug.  Basically, I have bought a very expensive program and they, in their wisdom have created a problem that means I can no longer have access to it.  This is daylight robbery and a shameful way to treat loyal customers who have spent thousands of pounds over the years for licensed copies of Adobe software.  All I ask is that a customer service advisor, correct the fault and register my copy with the number it has on record, because, for some reason, it won't let me do it.  I have today worked with a kind Microsoft technician for 6 hours, trying to re-install my licensed copy on to my restored version of windows to no avail, Adobe really do need to give people access to their own staff so that registry errors like this can be solved.  Lets face it, a forum is not going to be able to fix this one is it.

I downloaded the trial version of Photoshop CS6 (standard) from Adobe, once finished it then opened a window asking if I want it activated as a 30 day trial or as a licensed copy and once I choose the latter. It requested the serial number, so I entered the serial number applying to the licensed version I have of Photoshop CS6 (the same program I downloaded) which was then rejected, with an error message that stated that, although the serial number is valid, the program cannot be found on my computer (that is a mystery to me, given that it has just spent half an hour downloading it and has followed the download with the prompts), I was then prompted to choose from a drop down menu below.  The drop down menu shows the extended version of Photoshop CS6 but not the standard version that I bought last May, effectively preventing me from installing my own version of the software.  Is this a way that Adobe have of forcing everyone into ongoing contracts on cloud.  I just bought the program, I don't want to go on cloud.  Adobe's security was breached before and why should I be forced to pay twice.
After helping me reinstall windows 8.1 on to my computer an Engineer from Microsoft struggled with this all afternoon and most of this evening, and even he could not get it to work, so what chance have I got if he can't do it and Adobe refuse to help.

  • Aperture won't accept upgrade serial number

I just bought a new iMac and I am transferring Aperture from my MacBook to the iMac.
When I transfer Aperture it asks for a serial number. I enter the AP3 serial number and it asks for an AP2 serial number (since AP3 was an upgrade). I enter the serial number for AP2 and the program locks up and I get the SBBOD. I tried several times.
I tried deleting the app and re-installing. Same thing. As soon as I enter the AP2 serial number the installer locks up.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi Bob
I notice back in May last year you were experiencing problems with transferring Aperture from your MacBook to your iMac.  I have recently bought a MacBook and am trying to install Aperture, I currently have an iMac which is running Aperture 3, upgraded from Aperture 2 and am encountering the same problem on entering the Aperture 2 serial number.
I'm very interested to know if you managed to resolve the problem and if so how?
    Regards

  • Install PSE10 on 64bit Win7 won't accept the serial number, organizer installs - editor doesn't

After trying this then uninstalling & trying again I read through the installation guide online.  It seems to indicate that as I have only bought Photoshop Elements 10 (not Premiere) the disk I am using is a Pre-Trial disk.
This wasn't advertised on any of the blurb about the product - and looking at the list of what is on each disk for the premiere version - the Win 7 disk looks like it is the full copy.
When I start the "trial" version it only starts the organizer and there is no option to enter the serial number info at this stage.  Trying to open the editor from inside the organizer tells me I need to install from the DVD but when I tell it to go ahead - nothing happens.
    What are my options now?

You can download the trial version of Photoshop Elements 10 from Adobe's Web site and install it.  When you open the Editor, enter your serial number from your purchased version.

  • Where does PSE8 save the serial number?

I have three iMacs at home, but I only use two of them since the first one is broken. I had PSE8 installed on the iMacs, and during the summer bought CS5. Since I didn't need to use PSE8 on this iMac, I deinstalled it by dragging it to the trash can. Then about a month ago I purchased another new iMac, and installed PSE8 on it.
When I try to use PSE8 on the newest iMac a dialog box appears on the screen indicating that I have to either buy a new serial number, or deactivate PSE8 in one of the three iMacs, because I already have the serial number in three computers. My question is as follows:
Where in my iMac (the one I use with CS5) can I find the PSE8 serial number so I can drag it to the trash? I looked in the Library/Preferences folder and noticed that there are still a few PSE8 files left behind, but have no idea which one contains the serial number. Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

I apologize for posting on the wrong forum.
The problem with the activation/deactivation of PSE8 was solved, but first I will explain in detail what the problem was since all Adobe applications go through the same process (serial number activation/deactivation).
ORIGINAL PROBLEM: I had installed PSE8 twice and then deinstalled it at later dates. However, deinstalling an Adobe application does not deactivate the serial number (this number is left behind somewhere in the system along a few other files). So, I installed CS5 on this iMac a few months ago, and got rid of PSE8. Then a few weeks ago I bought another iMac and installed PSE8 on it, and here is where the problem began. When launching PSE8 on this iMac, a window would appear on the screen indicating that I already had the same serial number installed in two other computers, and that therefore I had 30 days to solve the problem.
    SOLUTION:
    a. Reinstalled PSE8 on the older iMac, launched it, and then chose "Deactivate" from the Help Menu and proceeded to deactivate PSE8
    b. Then I "deinstalled" PSE8 from this iMac, since I don't need it (I have CS5 on it)
    c. Launched PSE8 in the new iMac, and chose "Activate Serial Number" on the window mentioned in the last sentence of the "Original Problem" above, and this time it accepted the serial number because it could not find it in the older iMac that was still on my home network
I hope that this could be of help to others.

  • Aperture won't accept my serial number

I transferred to my new Mac using Migration assistant but when I went to start Aperture 3.3.2 it asked for my serial number. I purchased it on disc as Aperture 2.0 and bought the 3.0 updater, also on disc. It won't accept either of my serial numbers. Obviously I have tripple checked that I am tuyping them in correctly. Any ideas what is going wrong and how to solver it?

Maybe you have an old ProAppsSystemID file:
Quit Aperture, log off and log on again.
Then switch to the Finder and open your System Library and navigate to the folder:
         /Library/Application Support/ProApps
Look, If there is a file "ProAppsSystemID" and move this file to the desktop, and also any other files with Aperture in the filename.

  • Creative Cloud registration page won't accept the serial number from my email

I have previously purchased Adobe Lightroom 5 from the Adobe download site and use it on my Mac Mini.  I have recently joined the Creative Community to access Lightroom Mobile, which may not the the panacea I was hoping for.  So I re-downloaded Lightroom 5 from the Creative Cloud app to link it to my Creative Cloud account.  When trying to register the new one, it asks for my ORIGINAL serial number from my Adoble email.  When I enter this, it says it is invalid.  Its the only serial number I've received.  How do I get to enter and register the new product?
