APEX 3.1 Runtime-only install - not working

We've upgraded our dedicated Apex databases from 3.0 to 3.1 and have experimented with making one of the databases a runtime-only install. However, trying to access the standard 'root' URI (http://host/pls/apex/) produces an error "application=4550 workspace=10 Error ERR-1014 Application not found."
Running script apxdvins.sql gets things working again, running apxdevrm.sql breaks it once more.
Does the runtime-only environment have no 'apex_admin' pages at all? Do we have to access applications directly via their parameterised URIs?

I've done some research on the SQLite database. Whenever Aperture hangs up (like during auto-stack or opening the filter hud) there are thousands of SQLite queries happening. These SQLite queries cause massive file I/O because the database is stored on the disk as 1kb pages. However, the OS is caching the database file; mine's only 12MB. I'm trying to track down some performance numbers for SQLite on osx but having trouble.
It's starting to look like most of the speed problems are in the libraries that Aperture uses instead of the actual Aperture code. Of course, that doesn't completely let the developers off the hook since they choose to use them in the first place.
Oh, and if anyone is curious, the database is completely open to queries using the command line sqlite3 tool. Here's the language reference http://www.sqlite.org/lang.html

I have a couple of suggestions that may help with this issue. My first suggestion would be to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the keyboard.
Follow these steps to do that:
Click the "Start Menu"
Type "Device" in the search box under all programs
Select "Device Manager"
Click "Keyboards"
Remove all devices under keyboards by right clicking and selecting" uninstall" on each device
Restart the computer
How long has the button not been working?
Are there any other keys not working or producing the wrong character?

Oracle Developer Runtime-only install

My understanding is the Oracle Developer CD contains the Runtime install as well as Oracle Developer install.
For a deployment site--which typically only needs the runtime--how do you get a runtime-only install without giving the user the option to install the full Oracle Developer?

Seamless Install not working for installing Air runtime

hi - is anyone else having this problem today? it was working perfectly for me yesterday but no joy today. The air.swf is still loading in correctly and works fine if you already have the Air runtime installed. But once it tries to install the runtime, you get "A download error occurred. Try to download again?" I've checked it on a couple of different air app sites and its not working anywhere. Anyone else experiencing this or have any suggestions about how to fix it? Thanks

Java install not working ??

I was instructed post install of Yosemite to update my Java Runtime Environment. Now almost daily I am gatting the same notice box that I need to reinstall Java again. I am unsure if Java is evening working in Safari right now as some sites appear to not be working when I have to enter information in boxes to acess an answer via data entered.

It may mean that you need to install the "Apple" version of Java.
(I need to preface this by saying apple has "muddied the water" with regard to java support.)
In previous version of OS X, the Java runtime was installed in /System/Library/Java.
I don't know specifically what is triggering your dialog box but if I were you I'd install the "Apple" version of Java at the following

I think this will take care of the annoying popup.

I would like to ask a question, hopeing it is resolved in some way and i missed it.
I have installed SP3 Rollup 4 on our Exchange 2010 server.
This added 2 new Powershell commands
Get-MailboxSentItemsConfiguration
Set-MailboxSentItemsConfiguration
This can be used to manipulate where mail is stored in the send items.
Sender - e-mails sent using SendAs or Send-on-Behalf-of permissions are saved only in the Sent Items folder of the Sender (UserA);
SenderAndFrom – e-mails sent using SendAs or Send-on-Behalf-of permissions are saved in the Sent Items folder of the Sender and the mailbox on which the permissions are assigned (in our example, both UserA and UserB);
From – e-mails sent using SendAs or Send-on-Behalf-of permissions are saved in the Sent Items folder of only the mailbox on which the permissions are assigned (in our example, UserB)
What we really want it to use the From only way.
We use a shared team mailbox and use that as primary, as a second mailbox users get a trusted non shared mailbox. Mail sent from the trusted mailbox should only be in the send items from the actual sender, not both.
2 sites report that the From field is reserved for Future Use, or bugged and does not work is intened.

We are on 3 March 2014 now, is this still bugged, did i miss something, or is there an ETA when this will be fixed ?

I am using a shared mailbox (with a disabled account) where I get sent items and also deleted items placed in the right folders.
I think it’s just a matter of how you configure Outlook. It works well for me in both Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013, cached mode and also online mode. You can add a shared mailbox to your Outlook profile in at least two ways where one of them doesn’t work
but the other does.
If you add the shared mailbox via the File tab/Account settings/New/ and just enter the e-mail address of the shared mailbox in the Auto Account Setup page. No name, no password, just the e-mail address and click Next and voila “Your e-mail account is successfully
configured”. After restarting Outlook you will find the shared mailbox below your own in the left pane.
If you click the inbox ones in the shared mailbox and then open a new mail you will see the shared mailbox display name in the From field. After sending the mail you will see the mail in the Sent Items folder of the shared mailbox. If you delete a mail in
the shared mailbox you will see it in Deleted items folder of the shared mailbox.
The prerequisits for this is that you have “full access” and “send as” rights of the shared mailbox.
This was accomplished without using the Set-MailboxSentItemsConfiguration command.
We are running Exchange 2010 SP3 RU4.

Runtime.exec does not work for commands with lengthy outputs

I need to use Runtime.exec to run some custom commands on a Unix box. I have been doing this for quite some time now and had begun to feel comfortable when recently I started facing a problem. The thing is, whenever there is a command which prints a lot of data on to the console, the program is not able to exit from the waitFor method. Is there some thing that can be done about this?
Following is a part of the code I use:

int exitValue = p.waitFor();
System.out.println ("Exit value: " + exitValue);When the output of the "command" is lengthy, it hangs after printing "Got the process".
PS: By lengthy output, I mean that the command results in printing lines to the console which might be more than 100 in number. Say, something like what "ls -R /" would do in Unix / Linux.

From java.lang.Process API doc:
The Runtime.exec methods may not work well for special processes on certain native platforms, such as native windowing processes, daemon processes, Win16/DOS processes on Microsoft Windows, or shell scripts. The created subprocess does not have its own terminal or console. All its standard io (i.e. stdin, stdout, stderr) operations will be redirected to the parent process through three streams (Process.getOutputStream(), Process.getInputStream(), Process.getErrorStream()). The parent process uses these streams to feed input to and get output from the subprocess. Because some native platforms only provide limited buffer size for standard input and output streams, failure to promptly write the input stream or read the output stream of the subprocess may cause the subprocess to block, and even deadlock.
So you need to consume the process' output. Check the StreamGobbler example from this article.

Runtime.exe() is not working from within a jar file.

I have a jar file which have classes and a package in it.
One of these classes is calling another class which is present in the package.
The code i am using it is as follows:
Runtime r=Runtime.getRuntime();
Process p=null;
p=r.exec("java deep.slideshow.PlayShow");It is working fine when i am executing it without making jar file.
But when i make a jar file of all these things , this exec() is not working.
I have tried a lot.
If any body has any idea suggest me.

I tried the same you tell me to do by using the cmd;
java -cp my.jar package.class And then tried to make the jar file with the help of eclipse,
after adding my jar file into classpath of my project in eclipse.
Its working fine on my local system.
But when i put this jar file on some other system it does not call my jar file(obviously bcz it will not the find the jar file according to the classpath set on my local system. )
Is there any way that i can keep this jar into my project and then can give the classpath dynamically
so that it can pick the file from my project automatically.?
Later on i will pack this whole thing into a full jar file and it will work on a single click.
Is it possible or not ?

Erase 'Last Stroke Only' Is Not Working Correctly

I'm trying out After Effects CC having been working in CS 5.5, and finding that my normal workflow is not working out. I would like to use the clone stamp tool to create a stroke, then use the erase tool with the 'last stroke only' option in order to refine the clone stroke. However, in CC when I use the erase tool for this, the image does not update in the comp viewer, and using undo does not get rid of the erase in the layer window. If I press undo a second time, the whole clone stroke deletes. If I change the preview resolution of the comp viewer then the erase appears in the comp window. If I don't change the resolution but simply advance the timeline cursor by a frame then the erase appears as it should for however long the clone stroke lasts, but refuses to appear on the first frame it was created in. Is all of this a bug or something about the 'last stroke only' option that has changed since CS 5.5?
First image shows how the erased line does not appear in the comp viewer. Second image shows frame 2 where it does suddenly appear.
Using an iMac, OS X 10.8.5, 8gb ram.

What version of iPhoto? Of the OS? what exactly is happening? What have you tried to resolve this? How long have you waited for them to downad? have you looked at http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/photo-stream/ and verified tha tyour set up is correct and looked through the FAQs and troubleshooting tips? Has it ever worked? What has changed since it worked?

Install not working (ver 10.1, firefox, Win7 64)

Kept downloading and running updater, as admin, no antivirus, on my new 64bit Win7 laptop. Installer always reports success, but the Player remains at ver 10.0.
Eventually downloaded Adobe's uninstaller, ran it, it removed ver 10.0. Rebooted. Ran installer. Open FF, no flash content displayed.
Installer is simply not working.
Please let me manually install this browser plugin. Links to the files please. The installer is crap.

I think the problem is with "citrix". Can you just run the application from your machine and see if you can access the file?
      Yes, I copied the link " C:\Documentss%20and%20Settings\gaurav\Desktop\f120.sql " and paste on IE its working perfectly.
When you run browser from citrix, then C:\.. will refer to local drive of Citrix machine, not your local machine!
    Attached link from C:\. is not working (either I attach link from citrix machine or my local machine)
It would be really very helpful if you can suggest me more in solving this issue.

Visible (screen only) is not working

Hello everybody:
I've been experiencing some problems whenever I try to put an object with the "Visible (Screen Only)" presence property. The issue comes whenever I print the form: it always show all the objects. That happens to me when I use forms imported from a previously scanned document (importing the documents as an image), but not with new ones.
I'm using LiveCycle Es2 and I changed the program properties in order to make the form compatible with 8.1 or later versions. Niall O'Donovan suggested me to check if there was any warning related with the version, but there is no one.
Does anybody know anything about this?

Hi Javier,
I had a chance to look at this now and I think the issue may be the fact that the form was created by importing an existing Word/PDF document. Depending on how you do this, the form may only be saved as a Static PDF form and certain dynamic functionality (like Visible Screen Only) will not be available.
I don't think you will get the previous advice of prePrint/postPrint script to work either (changing the presence of the objects), as this would require the form to be saved as a Dynamic XML Form in the save as dialog.

10.4.3 Server Install not working on Quad2.5!

A customer purchased a Quad 2.5 and a copy of OSX Server retail. The Quad requires 10.4.5, Apple does not seem to have a new install of Server. (10.4.3 is all I can find) Any suggestions? I am thinking of installing on an older G5, as a stand alone server, and then installing the updates and imaging over to the Quad. Anyone tried this before?

On the Mac OS X Server installation disk, open the folder Other Installs and then double-click the item MacOSXServerInstall.mpkg inside; this will convert an existing Mac OS X client install to Mac OS X Server, and can be done on a system where Mac OS X Server cannot be installed directly. If this is done on an Intel Mac, the resulting configuration cannot be updated any further and Software Update will not work. More information is available in this article.
