APEX 4 Interactive Report set font color of negative values to red
I have an interactive report with several columns containing numerical values. If the value is negative, I want the font color to be red. Can someone help me with this process please.

I've done some more research, but I still haven't discovered how to create a fixed-width column within an APEX 4 interactive report that displays properly within an Internet Explorer 7 browser.

Setting Font Color and Bold Property in ALV Grid
I have a requirement to set the font in particular ALV Cells in red color.
Also this font (text) has to be set to Bold.
I know how to set cell coloring in ALV Grid, but have no idea regarding how to set font color.

Hi SDNers,
We are on BI 7.0 SP 16.
We have created custom Web Templates for our customer and are using Portal Themes to control the "look & feel" of the Web Reports, which are presented via the Consumer portal (not BI Portal but EP Portal).
My Question is : Is there a way to show negative values in Red Font color (we are not talking about background cell colour for negative values as RED which can be acheived by exception reporting).
The Reports are presented on WEB via EP Portal ,so no excel here...
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Suggestion of code in method DATA_CELL will be below:. The only thing is that below code is doing a left justification instead of displaying in red. You will need to find out how to display in red in HTML and replace it in the codes. Hope it help.

Interactive report and font colours
Apex : current version
I have an interactive report that displays details from Table 1.
I need to display the data is different colours. How do I do that?
Eg: name of employees in green their email id in red etc etc.
Can I do this ? If yes, please tell me how do I do this?

The real question is whether you should be doing this at all. Why do you think actually need/want to do this? It doesn't seem to provide any real usability benefit, and appear very likely to violate Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
But if you must...
As interactive reports lack the HTML Expression feature of standard reports, the standard way to do this unfortunately requires violating the separation of concerns and generating structural (a <tt>span</tt> element) and presentational (an in-line style sheet) aspects in the query:

⋮For columns to be properly sortable, the leading edge of the column must be an HTML comment that provides the required sort order using character semantics.
The Display As column attribute for such columns must be set to Standard Report Column.
This method has side effects: some IR filters won't work; aggregate calculations can't be applied to the column; and report exports contain the HTML rather than the expected value.
Other approaches involve using Dynamic Actions/jQuery/JavaScript.
However, if there are more than a few jobs/skills involved, or this information is volatile and subject to change then this method breaks down. To start with, there are only 17 named CSS colours, so if your minimal CSS knowledge doesn't extend to specifying colours in another way and you've more than 16 jobs then they can't all have a unique colour (white/silver/gray will be invisible on some IR backgrounds). It's also difficult/tedious to maintain this type of hard coding if the data changes frequently. How many jobs/skills are there?
For more than 3 or 4 jobs a better approach would be to store the CSS colours or classes in a column in the skills table, and just select it with the job name:

You will be able to achieve very little in APEX if you are unfamiliar with the web technologies it uses. Spend some time on the tutorials here: start with HTML, then XHTML, CSS, Javascript and the HTML DOM, and now HTML5.

With APEX we're also fortunate to have a great resource in apex.oracle.com where we can reproduce and share problems. Reproducing things there is the best way to troubleshoot most issues, especially those relating to layout and visual formatting. If you expect a detailed answer then it's appropriate for you to take on a significant part of the effort by getting as far as possible with an example of the problem on apex.oracle.com before asking for assistance with specific issues, which we can then see at first hand.

APEX4.0.2 - Interactive Report : Setting headers like master data on downlo
Hi,
I'm using Apex 4.0.2 and have an Interactive report. When the user selects Action->Download option, I want to set header data (master data) above the rows.
Imagine it to be like a bank statement, where the name and account number come on the top of the page and the rows of transactions below.
I'm not sure how I can do this, please help me out with pointers

I can only assume you are talking about freezing the header rows, so that when you scroll down the header remains in the same place? I am pretty certain this is not possible with the download option on interactive reports.

There is one downside - if you filter down the results in the IR, and click download - it still returns all records and not the filtered records. At least that was the case last time I tried it out.
But anyway, its easy enough to freeze the header pane yourself after the report has downloaded - maybe that's an option i.e. train users how to do that.

WLC AireOS 8.0 - how to set font-color for integrated webauth/weblogin?

up to AireOS 7.6 I was able to set the font-color of the internal webauth/weblogin page using html-codes, for example like this:
Headline: Welcome to our <font color="red">guest</font>-network!
Message: You need a valid <font color="blue">user</font> to login.
Now with AireOS 8.0 this doesn't work anymore. When I try to set a headline or message with font-tags I get "Error while setting headline." (or "...message.") when I hit apply. I have to remove the font-tag to save the weblogin page.

ChrisSince your using code to change the default internal portal page look, its better for you just to create a custom webauth and upload that to the WLC. That is how I do my implementations as its easier for me to create a new page than trying to mess around with the internal page. As you can see, Cisco can change the way things work in every version. It might just be the fact that they no longer are allowing html code to be inserted in the default webauth/passthrough page.

I'm using JTextField in my project. However, can anybody teach me how to set the font color for the font in the JTextField to other color. The default font color is black. Any idea about this?

Sometime ago I set in Mail the default font to Arial, and the default font Size to 18, so when I write a new email these are my default font and size. But I could not set the font Color. How do I do this?
Sounds like you have the Preferences toolbar closed on another selection.
Go to Mail > Preferences and at the top right of the Preferences window is a clear pill shaped button.
Selecting this button opens/closes the complete Preferences toolbar. -

If you really needed to set the font color, you would need to call setUI on the progress bar, and provide you own ProgressBarUI class.
You could start with one of the UI classes provided, like BasicProgressBarUI and extend it and modify it as you wish.
But this is really advanced... -
Is there a way to set the font color so that it isn't just white or whatever the default terminal font color is. I know there is a Font class, but I don't really understand how that works, whether I do Font.color and it will change the default changes or what. Can somebody direct me to more information that I can read up on, or if they know themselves. Thank you.
I don't think fonts apply to terminals. They apply to GUIs, documents, and similar things that support different font types. I doubt there is a way using pure Java to change the color of text in a terminal, since that sounds like something that is OS specific.

APEX 5 Interactive Report Link Hidden Column Pivot Report

i have some interactive report (on table demo_orders)
If i put a link on, lets say USER_NAME and pass parameter, lets say #CUSTOMER_ID#, i can see
the value substituted correctly in the report link.
Using the pivot feature, e.g.:

I am looking for a way to set the color of a piece of text that I'm inserting on the page. I have found information about how to use a swatch color to do it, but I can't find anything about setting the color based on CMYK values without having to create a swatch first. Likely I just don't know what properties/methods I'm searching for.
I'm using insertion points to control the location of my text in the frame. My code looks like this:

DaveYou can't directly set the fill or stroke to an arbitrary color specification — it has to be a color, swatch, a mixed ink, a tint, or a gradient. When you apply a color using the Colors panel, in the user interface, InDesign creates a color object, even though the color object does not appear in the Swatches panel. These colors appear as unnamed colors to scripting, but they're still color objects.
To apply a color via InDesign scripting, you must use a color or swatch object.
