Apex in the Cloud

I must admit all the talk of cloud computing has mostly passed me by, but the announcement yesterday ([http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/09/22/oracle_amazon_cloud/]) by Oracle that it is to 'partner' with Amazon to use it's EC2 offering got my interest. After a bit of digging around, I now know a little more about cloud computing.
I think this is really exciting for those individuals and organisations that would like to develop Apex apps for commercial use but lack the bucks for the hardware. I know there are hosting options but these can be expensive, and at the low cost end of the market don't usually allow for dedicated DB's or much control over the setup. As you can see from this link ([http://developer.amazonwebservices.com/connect/entry.jspa?externalID=1720&categoryID=116)|http://developer.amazonwebservices.com/connect/entry.jspa?externalID=1720&categoryID=116] you can have a nice virutal instance of Oracle Linux/XE/Apex up and running in minutes. I'm not sure of the cost and how it compares to hosting, but there is a cost calculator on the Amazon Web Services site if your interested ([http://calculator.s3.amazonaws.com/calc5.htm|http://calculator.s3.amazonaws.com/calc5.html|Amazon WS Calc]l ).
Anyway, the point of this post is, a while back, Carl Backstrom enquired in this post ([t-650092]) whether there would be demand from Oracle for a 'cloudish' Apex offering. It's now a few months later and wondering if a robust grid backed Oracle/Apex hosting from Oracle is going to happen?

The Database Cloud Service is on APEX 4.2.1 at the moment. We are hoping to upgrade to 4.2.2 in the next 30 days.

I have registered for a trial access since first day in which the cloud was launched ... But, did not get access till now ... If I were to buy it, am I going to get access right away ??
Is Oracle Cloud going to offer Internet domain name mapping to a specific APEX application ???
Is Oracle Cloud u going to offer URL rewrite where APEX URL is not Search Engine friendly.... e.g:
This site: http://www.enkitec.com/ was built on APEX, but as you can see the URL was rewritten ????

According to your post, my understanding is that the rule was not processing for SharePoint 2013 result page.
Please make sure you add the reverse rewriting rule correctly.

Are you referring to @mac.com, @me.com or @icloud.com emails? Or some other email providers emails?
If the former, it should do that automatically. If the latter, no. iCloud does not (nor is it supposed to) sync non-Apple provided emails.

Looking for a calendar that syncs with my other iPad in the cloud?

I have tried numerous calendar/agenda programs, but none sync easily through the cloud with my other iPad. Could be me being inept. Trying to input appointments on my iPad at work and sync it with my iPad at home. Appreciate any help. Thanks Peter

Isn't it just called 'Calendar' ? The one with a red bar across the top. If you've put other calendar apps on the phone take them off because they'll take over some of the functions of the Apple software and stop it working properly.
Make sure you're using the same account on both iPads. For instance, you might have one connected to your 'work' account and the other connected to your 'home' account.
If you enter an event into an iCloud calendar using one device, and it's connected to the internet, it should quickly show up on all devices using the same iCloud calendar, as soon as they can connect to the internet. If that's not happening, something is wrong with your setup.

I purchased a single user PS CC license last year. During the interim the nature of my work has neccesitated that I have to work at two sepearte offices (one at home and one at my formal offices). Is it possible to "switch" the license to the different computers when I am at the different locations?

On the computer where you want to deactivate the Cloud, launch any Cloud app e.g. Photoshop CC 2014 and click Help > Sign Out.

That will deactivate all Cloud apps on that computer. (They can be reactivated at any time by signing in again.)
On the new computer, sign in to your Cloud account with your Adobe ID, download the Cloud app then download the software.

Keeping your pictures safe is definitely important! Once you have synced the saved pictures to your phone you can transfer them from the phone to your computer. Are you using the Verizon Cloud Desktop app?

How do I download previous music purchases from the Cloud to my Macbook Pro?

I recently purchased my first Apple computer, but have been a longtime iPod user, and as of this past February an iPhone user. So upon getting my new Macbook Pro, I of course began to sync what songs I had purchased from iTunes on my old Windows computers, and iPod and iPhone, that were supposed to be stored in the Cloud. Well, as I've been importing all the physical CD's i own, I began to notice that some of my iTunes purchases hadnt downloaded from the Cloud. So now I've gone through my iPod to see what songs are missing and which aren't. I know now that I am missing two full albums, as well as what I think is another 25+ single songs I've downloaded, and unfortuantely I cannot figure out how to retrieve them for the life of me. I'm very frustrated that all my purchases didnt show up from the Cloud in the first place! Any help?

Adobe Bridge CC in the Cloud

I downloaded Bridge CC from the cloud, I succeeded in doing that, but the bridge CC doesn't appear in my program application. I also cann't download it again because it is already downloaded. Ihave Bridge CS6 and bridge CS5 in my program application. Do I have do de-install that first? But that is not a problem with PS6 and PS5 and PS CC.
Does anybody have an answer on this question?

If you just installed iCloud does that mean you updated the iOS that's running on your iPad? If so, you'll want to restore all the programs you have from the backup you hopefully made.

If you don't want to use iCloud, simply don't activate it.
You can also download the programs again.
If you live in a country that supports re-downloading apps then you can re-download them. You can refer to this article for more help.

I chged my internet provider and new email address and cloud is not recognizing this chg. i deleted my old email acct from ipad and added new acct and since then i cannot send email nor the cloud will recognize the new email address. do i need to sync

Cannot send or receive email from the cloud. all updates are competed and everything else is working fine on MAC. iPad sends and receives fine. any ideas.

On Imac I am not able to send or receive messages. All software is updated. My iPad that uses the same email address and the Cloud, sends and receives just fine. It is not "the colored" thing that is spinning but the little black and white circular icn that is spinning away. My other email address is functioning fine.
