Apex new demo apps not compatible with oracle xe apex: your opinion

Hi,
I post here only to ask why new apps are compatible only with apex 2.2.
Is apex 2.2. so different from apex include in Oracle Xe?
Not so much by me.
Oracle xe under my opinion and as Oracle says as well his an dmbs
that let you grow your organization, but my question again is:
why distribute Xe without an update apex 2.2 ?
By the way i've looked at all application demo built on apex 2.2. and by me they can be built as well using 'apex xe'.
My question again is: is a good politcs build demo apps that runs only on apex 2.2 when Oracle distribute apex xe free to deploy / develop and with apex bundled in it but not upgradable(or better with some tricks i've successfully installed 2.2 on apex, but it's not supported)?
Is so difficult to distribute an Oracle xe version with an up to apex each time and a backward compatibility?
My opinion is that oracle lose a lot of potential and growing user at that time.
Thanx to hear your opinion as well

Hi Chris,
i agree: the point is that under my opinion apex has really a big potential.
This potential lies as well in the nr of user.
I've built a quite complex marketing apps that have been used to estabilish our office in Singapore.Without Apex and with my daily task this would be unthinkable at to such an application.
I mean: oracle xe has been built with a really good purpose in mind: let grow little - medium company to medium -bigger.
In the first phase is unthinkable at all for a firm to have:
- an in house group of developer.
- an expensive Oracle commercial licence.
With apex i think you can build (however after a couple of month of few practice):
- very stable application.
- has a really convenient way of deployment (compared with maybe a microsoft access environment with different office version and different pcs...).
- a very very fast way of development that can hide (if your are enough creative and feel confident with Apex) the scripting language for the bost common task based on data logic.
Now again, who lose there is Oracle, why a tool like apex under my opinion can really increased the number of customer that change to Oracle commercial license.
If the free version of Apex isn't supported as the official one, a lot of user could leave the choice of adopting Xe today (only because a demo app at first sight doesn't seem to work), and Oracle10g in the future.
Bye

Anyone else having a similar issue?  Is the app not compatible with ios7?

Go back to the itunes store and look at the user ratings/comments for that app.  If it's not compatible with IOS 7, there will be many postings from users that indicate that.

  • ICloud apps Not Compatible with older versions if iWorks

    CAUTION
If you haven't upgraded to the new version of iWorks that was released with Mavericks today, do NOT open any of your files in iCloud. If you do, you will no longer be able to open them with your older versions of the iWorks apps.
For example, Apple today released Pages version 5.0. The last version of Pages was 4.3 (released in Dec 2012). If you create a new document in Pages 4.3, save it to iCloud and then open it in iCloud using Safari, you will no longer be able to open the same document in Pages 4.3. When you try, you'll get an error that you need a newer version of Pages.
In other words, it's now imperative that you upgrade to the latest version of the iWorks apps that were released today as the earlier versions are NOT compatible with the iCloud apps.
    Hope this helps.

The FAQ for iPad Pages has always made it clear that Pages import and export formats were Pages 09 only.  Nobody here can tell why Apple made it that way, but you can give them your views here:

  • Some apps not compatible with this unit

I have some trouble with a couple of apps that aparently is not compatible with my z3 compact.
But i have no trouble installing them on my android tablet(asus)
Is it a regional setting on the phone i can change?

    Hi Silverpioneer,
    Welcome to the community,
In this case you would be best to speak with the developer of said apps, as it is they who get to dictate what device can be used with there apps. This sounds like they have not tested with the device so have not supplied compatibility for it.

  • SQL Developer 3.0.04 generated scripts not compatible with Oracle 10g (XE)

    HI,
I tried to do an export from one XE database (still 10g) to another XE database. (also 10g).
I tried to do a database copy as well as a separate export and import (by loading the file and running as a script).
Neither of them work without modifying the files as it seems that SQL Developer generates scripts that are only compatible with Oracle 11g.
    - Create table contains "segment creation automatic"
    - Storage clauses contain parts that are not compatible with 10g
I ran through the wizard several times but neither can I find an option to choose for compatibility with earlier versions of Oracle.
Checked the preferences screen as well.
Is this a well hidden option or is it not possible to make this work for 10g.
Extra : found workaround by removing the storage clause to the export. Is there another way that does not force me to remove the storage clause?

I'm sure this is far from the supported way to fix this but, seeing that it's apparently an issue with the classpath or something in it, I hacked <sqldeveloper_install>\sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.bat and added [ORACLE_HOME]\jdbc\lib\ojdbc6.jar to the classpath. At least that gets me started with 3.0 and lets me create TNS connections.
I'd really appreciate a better solution, if any of you kind folks knows of something.
    Thanks,
    Kelly

  • I need to go back to the previous version of foxfire, as this new one is not compatible with my school e-mail, how can I go back to previous version of foxfire?

Our school is online Grand Canyon University, the new foxfire is not compatible, the instructor said if we go back to the previous version of foxfire which is what we use, then we can continue to send e-mail, please respond ASAP, as time is important.

The last Firefox version that runs on Mac OS X 10.4 is Firefox 3.6.28.
Current Firefox versions require a Mac with an Intel processor and OS X 10.6 (Firefox 16 runs on Intel Mac OS X 10.5).

  • My new ipod is not compatible with my Mac computer. what do I need to do ?

My Mac computer with an operating system 10.5.8 is not compatible with the new ipod nano I just purchased. What are my options?

Choose About this Mac from the Apple menu and check the processor.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, none. You may want to ask for a refund.
If it's an Intel Mac, click here, install the DVD, and run Software Update twice.
If you upgrade the OS, back up the computer first.

  • This new forefox is not compatible with Google toolbar - I want to uninstall but don't know how. Orientation please!

I have a MacBook Pro and my bookmarks and mail are all google so I relly need my Google toolbar as this new one is not compatible.
    Thanks,
    ruco

Firefox will not easily allow you to downgrade to firefox4, because that is now unsupported, however if you install an additional add-on the compatability reporter this will allow the google toolbar to work. This is confirmed by one of the google [http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2011/06/enable-google-toolbar-in-firefox-5.html blogs]
Please therefore install the addon from this link:
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/
With any luck the new addon will help with other addons you may have and other releases of firefox that are going to be released soon.

why am i getting "This application is not compatible with this iPhone." when trying to download the Facebook app from the AppStore while on my iPhone?
i have an original iPhone verison 2.1, perhaps i need to update to the newest version?

if you didn't get it to work after updating to 2.2, try a reset. but first delete your history, cache and cookies, then reset.

  • How do I go back to the previous version? New one is not compatible with my OSX version.

I'm running 10.4.11 and had Firefox 3.6.something. I installed the Firefox update, assuming that if it was not compatible with my OSX version, it wouldn't install. First mistake, huge. I need to go back to my previous version. I don't have system resources to upgrade the OS version.

  • Verizon Cloud App - Not Compatible with Device

Is there any way to get my contact and other data from the Verizon Cloud to my new phone without installing the Cloud App on my new phone (it lists it as not compatible in the Play Store)?

We can definitely help with that StinkyPete. We know how important it is to have the option to transfer your backup. Most of our smartphones have access to Verizon Cloud, is this an older model phone? What model phone? If it's not compatible in the Play Store, it sounds like it's not a Verizon Wireless phone. Please clarify if it is.
If it's not a Verizon Wireless phone, then you will not be able to use Verizon Cloud to sync your content.

  • HT4814 Server App not compatible with Mountain Lion

I have just upgraded my station to Mountain Lion and previously copied SERVER App is not compatible. I am not going to upgrade my server to Mountain Lion as yet, therefore I cannot administer my server through 2. from above. Sollutions?
Station: ML on MacMini. Server MacMiniServer Lion Server

Right, yes I understood your plan. The worry I have is that even once you copy Server v2 to your workstation, on first launch it will try to install the ML Server components. So....I fired up my virtual machine of ML client to see once again what's that like again. One first launch Server prompts to configure/install the server software. However the menu and menu items are live, e.g. the "Manage"  entry is live. So I suspect you could connect from the workstation to the server and manage it. I just don't know if that "setup" screen will thereby go away, if I'm only using it to manage the server from the workstation. I'm away from my Server, so I cannot at the moment verify what happens.
I went ahead and bought ML + Server v2. I installed it in a VM to take a look at the changes and to see if services I use functioned o.k. in testing. I took forever to setup my MacMini with Lion Server because I was new to OS X Server, but I've been using Macs for ages and OS X from the very start. So I installed, messed up, reinstalled Lion Server many times before I figured it out. Right when it was pretty much good to go, ML came out. Since my MacMini with Lion Server never got used for anything more than testing, it was a big deal for me to go ahead with ML + Server v2. I'm just using it as a home server, and pretty limited at that: OD, File Sharing, Network Homes, and Profile Manager. ML gives me one share and an easy way to turn on FTP (compared to Lion), so I'm going to use that service too; I have a scanner than doesn't work with Lion and ML's SMB but functions with FTP.
Some things are missing in ML, DCHP for instance is but isn't there. You might take a look at to get an idea:
    http://arstechnica.com/apple/2012/07/the-server-simplified-a-power-users-guide-t o-os-x-server/
I always take caution with early releases, I usually test clones made with SuperDuper! or Carbon Copy Cloner. With Mt Lion Server, it was easier, again since I didn't have a "live" Lion server, to make a virtual machines.

  • HT1925 i have delete whatsapp by mistake and now the new version is not compatible with my iphone, how can i take it back again ?

Hello i need help, i unloaded the new version of whatsapp and now is not working because my phone is not compatible, i delete it, and now i can not unloaded it again ! how can i unload the old version again ? thanks

If you did not make a backup of the old version of the app before you deleted it, there's no way you can get it back now. The current version should still work on your iPhone 3GS, though. You just need iOS 4.3 or later, so if your iPhone still has an older version, update to the latest iOS.
If, however, you really have an iPhone 3G, not a 3GS, then unless again you make a backup copy of the old version of the app, there's nothing you can do until you're ready to get a newer iPhone since iOS 4.2.1 is the final version your iPhone 3G will run.
This question, by the way, would have better been posted in the Using iPhone forum rather than here in the QuickTime forum.
    Regards.

  • New MacBook Pros not compatible with Adobe CS6

I am having constant crashes with inDesign cs6 on new MacBook Pro. Lost a lot of the functionality of my printer—NO LONGER DUPLEXES! That was the purpose of that printer. Anyone with similar experiences. Shame on Apple for not coordinating efforts with Adobe before release!!!

Shame on Adobe. Have you posted in their support forum?

  • I need to revert back to Firefox 3.6 The new version is not compatible with my Speedlings program. How can I get a 3.6 copy of Firefox? Thanks! Russ

I originally had Firefox 3.6 and my Speedlings program was working fine with it. Then I updated to 4.0 and Speedlings is not functioning properly. I called Speedlings and they said to use the Firefox 3.6 version and I would be fine.

To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles
