Apex Tab Set name variable

Hi,
Can someone tell me the apex global variable for TAB SET Name please?
Is there any document from I can get complete list of all Apex variable names?
Thanks in advance
Dip

Can someone tell me the apex global variable for TAB SET Name please?Not clear what you mean by "variable": can you provide more context?
Is there any document from I can get complete list of all Apex variable names?If you mean substitution strings, then Flavio has a very ueful list of them and where it's possible to use them:
http://oraclequirks.blogspot.com/2007/07/apex-substitution-strings-cross.html
Other than that, the APEX documentation is probably the best place, although you may need to hunt around to find what you want:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/doc.html
For example, here's a list of substitution strings supported in page templates:

  • Setting User# variable according to TS Client name

    I need to set the user# environment variable upon RDP login according to which client the users are connecting from. The server is Windows 2008 R2 and the clients are currently Win XP Pro. The username is not important, only the name of the client computer.
    The variable is needed to tell our POS software where the users are located. I have no scripting experience other than creating .bat files but that doesn't work in Windows 2008. Thanks in advance.

    I am referring to an environment variable "User#" that needs to be a number (1-13) that corresponds to a workstation number defined within our software. The software looks for this variable to decide which workstation the user is logging in from
    and therefor which address, phone number, location, etc. to print on reciepts and such. Each workstation is assigned a unique number and there cannot be duplicates as the number also determines which workstations can process credit card sales (i.e. cash registers).
    This is easy using the RDP connection software on the workstation when I set it to run a specific .bat file on the server to set the variable within the users session when the user first logs on. I would rather not use that method. I want to set
    that variable based on the name of the workstation and not the username. I cannot set a permenant user# for each user as our users will use workstations at different locations. If set permenantly and a user logged in from location 1 instead of location 2 the
    reciepts and other things would not be correct. I hope that is clear enough. I would post a screenshot as an example but I don't know how on this forum. Thanks for any help you can provide.
    I don't mean to sound like a newbie but I am new to scripting. Therefore I may require some help actually writing the script and putting it in the right place.

  • How can I set #HOST# variable referenced in the Chart template?

    #HOST# and #HOST_PROTOCOL# are being set incorrectly by APEX from CGI variables when I create a chart. I am using APEX 4.1 and Oracle 11g. The get the continual "Loading data..." and then after it times out I get "Error loading file".
    Before we changed to a secure http environment, our charts worked. After we changed to the new web layer, the charts do not work. The #HOST# substitution was set to http://correctservername/ and #HOST_PROTOCOL# was set to http. We set PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList REQUEST_PROTOCOL=https in the dads configuration file and now the #HOST# displays https but it also includes the default port number which we do not want (https://correctservername:port/) The charts work without the port. REQUEST_PROTOCOL is not in the cgi list and setting this variable set #HOST_PROTOCOL#. What variable can we set to make #HOST# correct. It seems like #HOST# is being set by #REQUEST_PROTOCOL#'://'||HTTP_HOST||':'||SERVER_PORT||SCRIPT_NAME||'/'. SERVER_NAME could also be used in of HTTP_HOST. I don't know how APEX is setting #HOST#. Does it come from a host alias somewhere in the environment?
    I don't want to add a new cgi variable called HOST because HOST sounds so generic and it might interfere with something else running in our environment. Or, I don't want to change the plsql cgi environment variable (such as HTTP_HOST) because many developers may use owa_util.get_cgi_env('HTTP_HOST') to get the current server. If the SERVER_PORT is part of the #HOST# then what could I change it to if it needs to be null. If you leave it blank, then the default SERVER_PORT comes from the CGI variables.
    I would rather not create a global variable (hard-coding) and create a new chart template using the global variable or create a before header application process to re-direct url without a port.

    Hi Donna,
    changing the CGI environment variables HTTP_HOST, REQUEST_PROTOCOL and SERVER_PORT is the correct way how to resolve this, because it appears that your hiding the web server where you have installed mod_plsql or EPG by a different outside facing web server (also called reverse proxy). That's why APEX gets the host name, protocol and port of the internal web server, but should actually get the values of your reverse proxy web server. Can can fix that by changing the following CGI environment variables.
    HTTP_HOST should just contain the domain name (no protocol or port). For example: www.oracle.com
    REQUEST_PROTOCOL should contain http or https
    SERVER_PORT should be the port for https

  • How to set #HOST# variable used in Chart template using Multiple Domains?

    I have a extended question to How can I set #HOST# variable referenced in the Chart template?
    In addition to the Proxy layer, we are looking to use multiple sub-domain names into the same Oracle APEX instance (through the one DAD) each mapped to a different application id. Therefore I don't think the solution in the link will work for me - as this embeds a single domain name in the DADS.CONF.
    Two questions:
    - Is it possible to set the "HTTP_HOST" in "dads.conf" using an existing HTTP Header value? - my proxy can pass on the original domain as "HTTP_X_FORWARDED_HOST". So if it was possible to use (say: using whatever form/syntax of parameterisation is available) ?
    >
    PlsqlCGIEnvironmentList HTTP_HOST=%{HTTP_X_FORWARDED_HOST}
    >
    If it can then that would work for me. It would be great if modl_plsql handled this out of the box as I understand the "X-FORWARDED" approach is pretty standard in the proxy world including passing on original IP addresses. Hitting an phpinfo() site shows headers
    >
    HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR     192.168.2.100

    - Alternatively is it possible in APEX environment to set the #HOST# from the HTTP Header "HTTP_X_FORWARDED_HOST" if it exists for all requests?

  • Help with setting/getting variables in app

    Hi,
    I have an application which behaves in the following manner:
    1. User logs in.
    2. User is presented with a list of projects; user clicks on a project to drill down to that project.
    3. User is presented with project information which includes 4 separate lists of tasks grouped by week. So there are tasks for the current week the user is in plus task for the 3 weeks out.
    4. User can edit talks or create new ones for each of the 4 weekly groupings.
    Given that, on the main page for a project I have set up a report and form for each of the weekly groupings. I also have an item for the project id as well as each weekly grouping id. The goal there is that when a user clicks the "create" button they can create a new task for the appropriate weekly group. However, this isn't working.
    For the first weekly group when I click "create" I'm presented with the form to fill out for the task. All of the info is there, including the correct id for that weekly group so the task gets assigned to it properly. However, when I save I get an error which says that particular id is null.
    For the next three groups when I click "create" I'm given the same thing as above but without the id for the weekly group. Even if I set it and save things I'm getting the same error.
    So, I'm wondering what I've done wrong in the app flow. Am I setting these variables too early, too late? Am I really not picking them up in spite of what I see on my screen? Have I missed some fundamentals of Apex here?
    Thanks in advance for your time and help.
    Jon

  • Tab SET Problems

    Apex 3.0
    How do you delete a parent tab set?
    As I have accidentally created a second parent tab set, I am finding it difficult to create new tabs within my main parent tab set. Any new tabs are automatically placed within the unwanted parent tab set.
    Am I correct in saying there are 4 entities with tabs?
    1. the parent tab set
    2. the parent tab
    3. the standard tab set
    4. the standard tab
    Gus..

    What I do in 2.1 is...
    go to your tab setup (Home > App builder > Application # > Shared Components > Tabs)
    Select "Manage Parent Tabs" on the Right bar
    Rename Parent Tab Set on Right Bar
    Then Rename your set to the same on you curerntly use
    Parent Tab Set to rename: BadPTS
    New Name: CurrentPTS

  • Parent Tab Set Problem with 1.6

    Hi,
    I came across a small issue when trying to add tabs (2 sets) to a non tab enabled application. Here are the steps to reproduce it:
    1. Switch page default theme to 2 tab sets (edit theme)
    2. Click on tabs link in page editor, takes you to tab manager with 2 add buttons, one on parent and one on tab set.
    3. Click add parent (opens create parent tab wizard)
    4. Enter Parent Tab Label then click next
    5. Error: Tab set or new tab set must be specified.
    It seems that the only way to create a parent tab set is through the new application wizard (defaults to main) or through the standard tab set wizard (Tab Parent). Do you think this should also be available through the create parent wizard?
    I also had some problems with the automatic naming of the tabs. The wizards seem to be a little inconsistent, sometimes asking for a label (and deriving the name) and other times asking for the name. It gets very confusing when you have tabs and parent tabs named the same, especially with the addition of parent tab set and tab sets. Would it be possible to use a different prefix for the different tab types, e.g.
    PTS_XXX (parent tab set)
    PT_XXX (parent tab)
    TS_XXX (tab set)
    T_XXX (tab)
    I'm really impressed with this product, but I think the tabs section tripped me up the most (page templates, page attributes, parent tab sets, parent tabs, tab sets, tabs, etc.) and the manual kind of glossed over a lot of it.
    Thanks.

    The parameter CPIC_MAX_CONV is a environment variable that you find in Unix or windows, depends where you had installed SAP PI.

  • How to set a variable in an attahced m.c.

    testClip=mc1.mc2.attachMovie('mc3','mc3',nIndex++);
    testClip.testVar='cat';
    In AS2 the code above would mean that from within the attached mc1.mc2.mc3 clip, i could access the testVar.
    eg... within the timeline of mc3, i could have the following
    trace(testVar); and the word cat would be produced....
    In AS3, I know how to attach a movieClip, but how do you set a variable within a mc that is being attached to the stage, like the above AS2 example?
    kind regards J.

    I'm not really sure where you want to assign it so I'm providing a mildly revised version of your code with "aIndex" being a variable sharing a home with the texfield, arrayIndex.  This example assigns it both inside the function and outside, and demos a couple of ways of accessing the child.  If you plug this into a new file in frame 1 and copy one of your selectFile objects into the library, you'll see it play out.
    var attachHere:MovieClip = new MovieClip;
    this.addChild(attachHere);
    function showFiles(){
    for(var i:uint=0; i<3; i++){
      var mySelectFile:selectFile = new selectFile();
      mySelectFile.name = "mySelectFile"+i;
      mySelectFile.y = (mySelectFile.height + 100)*i;
      mySelectFile.aIndex = i;
      mySelectFile.arrayIndex.text=String(mySelectFile.aIndex);  // casting to String since i is a uint
      attachHere.addChild(mySelectFile);
    showFiles();
    for(var k:uint=0; k<3; k++){
    trace("before: "+MovieClip(attachHere.getChildAt(k)).aIndex);
    MovieClip(attachHere.getChildByName("mySelectFile"+k)).aIndex += 1;

  • Is it possible to export and import a set of variables?

    Hi,
    I'm using RH8 under WinXP. I use variables for our product names (=single software modules). This makes it easier to change the name, if a product name has changed. For each of these products there is a single RH-project. Now I want to import a set of variables, that I've created in one of those projects, to another project. Up to now, I haven't found an export/import option in RH for these set of variables. Is there a possibility to import/export these variables?
    Kind regards
    Stefan

    Set up a test project close it, copy the rhvariable.apj file from a project with the variables into it. Reopen the test project.

    The home page is fine. Now the query is with regard to Tab 1. I need it to display Page 3 or Page 4 based on the location of APP_USER

    How can I check or display Page 3 if the Region is APAC and Page 4 if EMEA(APAC and EMEA being values in table)
    Is there some way how I can set or achieve this? The default page I have set is as of now Page 3 but it has to pick Page 3 or 4 based on region value from employee table.
    Any guidance will be appreciable.
    Thanks,
    Swetha

    I am using Apex 4.1
    I have the following tabs set up.
    Home, Tab 1,Tab 2 and so on
    The home page is fine. Now the query is with regard to Tab 1. I need it to display Page 3 or Page 4 based on the location of APP_USER
    The region details are all stored in the table : employee_info

  • SQL Loader:  Is it possible to set a variable?

    Hallo All,
    I am loading data with SQL Loader and find that I can set particular fields to particular values using 'CONSTANT'. That's great. However, I am loading multiple files into the same format and so would like to 'label' each load. This would be done by setting a variable before each load and then using this to write the load month (e.g. '200901') into the column 'SOURCE_FILE' in the destination table.
    I imagine the syntax would look something like this ...
    LOAD DATA
    strSource = '200809'
    INFILE 'source_data_200809.csv'
    strSource = '200810'
    INFILE 'source_data_200810.csv'
    strSource = '200811'
    INFILE 'source_data_200811.csv'
    APPEND
    INTO TABLE DESTINATION_TABLE
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY ";" OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"'
    TRAILING NULLCOLS
    (CUSTNO char,
    BARCODE char,
    NAME char,
    SOURCE_FILE char :strSource)
    Then, for each load I would reference the variable strSource and write the appropriate month into a column/field in the table.
    I have been googling and trawling through the documentation but I cannot seem to find a way to do this. Is it possible? Or maybe there is another method/way/trick to do this? Or maybe it is just a question of syntax?
    Any ideas?

    Hi Kamran,
    I took a look at that thread and there were some tips including details about sending parameters through the command line ...
    SQLLDR CONTROL=controlfile.ctl, DATA=yourdatafile.csv
    But here I would need to also be able to send a parameter that I could pick up and use within SQL Loader. This might be ...
    SQLLDR CONTROL=controlfile.ctl, DATA=source_data_200809.csv VAR=200809
    ... here I would write the value '200809' to a column in the table being loaded (so that I could track back to the source of the load).
    I checked the documentation but it doesn't seem to be possible to send a variable in this way.
    Any other tips?
    Regards,
    Alan

  • Hi, I have quick question about use of USEBEAN tag in SP2. When I specify a scope of SESSION for the java bean, it does not keep the values that I set for variable in the bean persistent.Thanks,Sonny

    Make sure that your bean is implementing the serializable interface and that
    you are accessing the bean from the session with the same name.
