Apex Websheets. Will such thing be possible there...

We are moving now our ERP-application to the Apex environment very intensively, many old Excel reports and tables are also moved to the Apex application thanks to the outstanding Interactive Reports feature. But I'm receiving more and more request about two things:
1) report sharing - this feature, as far as I understand will be in the Apex 4.0
2) Saving and sharing of the STATIC view of Interactive Report.
I mean we can now download the CSV or XLS representation of what we see in Interactive Report. But this way we are going offline storing the tables as a files on hard drives. Will it be possible to save, view and share such 'exports' online out of the box? (clear we can write something like that by ourself - storing the files in BLOB or whatever but it looks like this feature will be very logical in the Websheets/Interactive reports concept)

But the point is that I'm talking about a STATIC copy of a real table. Suppose we have a normal oracle table and at one moment user wants save the current state of this table for the future (for example for compare). He can export now current table(interactive report) to the file and thus have a copy of oracle table offline. So the question will it be possible to make a online copy of the table. The underlying oracle table will be changed but the copy must contain old the data. Something like snapshot but without time limitation and with possibility to share such static copy with others.
Sorry if I missed with clear explanation...

You can't delete any of the built-in apps, but you can hide the iTunes app via Settings > General > Restrictions > iTunes 'off'. For other apps which don't have a Restrictions setting that allows you to hide them you can just move them to your last homescreen or put them into their own 'unused apps' folder so that they are less visible e.g. e.g. press and hold an app and after a second or two they should start to shake, then drag the app (not too quickly) that you want to move ; to create an app folder drag one app onto another and a folder should be created with the both in it - you can then drag more apps into that folder.
In terms of setting the time, you can do that via Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Automatically 'on' or Set Date And Time. Not every world city is listed, so you may have to use Miami in the World Clock.
If you don't already have a copy then you can download a copy of the iPad manual from here, it has a brief chapter on each of the built-in apps (plus iBooks which is a free download from the store) : http://support.apple.com/manuals/ipad/ (there is a section called Customizing iPad in chapter 3 which describes how to do move apps and create folders).

Is there such thing as a "pre-action"?

I'm wondering if there is such thing as a "pre-action" that would get executed before a page is displayed rather than an action that gets executed as a result of submitting a form?
For example, I have an application that has 3 pages. Page 1 submits to page 2 and page 2 submits to page 3. I want to make it so that a user couldn't just access pages 2 or 3 without going through the preceding pages.
I'm thinking of creating a bean property something like page1Validated that would return a boolean. Then, have a check so that if page1Validated isn't true, if the user attempts to access page 2 directly (which normally, they shouldn't), it redirects them to page 1.
So, basically, I want to have some conditional code that runs before the page is executed that optionaly does a redirect to another page.
I'm thinking that I could do this using a servlet filter. Has anyone else ran into this problem? Is using a filter the recommended approach to solving this problem?

Another thing that I need to figure out is how to prevent the user from attempting to access the page as a .jsp rather than a .faces file (I have a servlet mapping to map all requests for *.faces to the Faces Servlet). I used to put all my .jsps in the WEB-INF directory to handle this back when I was implementing my own contoller. I asked this question previously, but, never received a response.

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.

How to request APEX product enhancements (such as code protection)

Have reviewed and there are posts that go back to at least 2009 inquiring how to protect apex code from being exported in attempt to protect licensed applications.
As everyone is aware, there exists the ability to export an application read-only, but this does not prevent the APEX administrator from the licensee from changing to run and build once the code has been installed by the licensor. While the procedures and functions may be wrapped, there still exist no way of protecting APEX application code which will be the core work of the licensor.
Sure there is the license agreement between the licensor and licensee, but how difficult could it possibly be to add an export option, such as 'export read-only protected', which would prevent modification to run and build at a later time by the licensee?
An otherwise wonderful product still suffers with this major, yet seemingly easily corrected flaw.

Can data be fetched from Oracle Database to ApEx websheets?

We are in need of giving an MRU form for the customized data by the users. The number of columns will be defined dynamically by the end user. We thought of using apex's standard tabular forms, but they cannot have dynamic columns. We also thought of having manual tabular forms using apex collections, but there is a limitation that the collection can have maximum of 50 character datatypes, 5 numeric, 5 date and 1 each for clob and blob. The number of columns at runtime may exceed these numbers. so we ruled out this. We then thought of using apex websheets. We know that the data can be fetched from Oracle database to websheet reports, but the reports cannot be edited. We know that the data grid gives option to edit the data, but I couldnt find a way to fetch the data from database to it. I understand that the data in the apex websheets can be queried from apex's meta tables apex$_ws_... views and somehow in a back door way of doing these can be updated to the business tables. But we also need to fetch the data from Oracle database to the grid. I do not want to insert into the apex$_ws tables as Oracle does not support it. Is there any other possibility?

Well once you've implemented one really bad idea, one more isn't going to make much difference.
It rather sounds like you've got people who know nothing about relational databases or user interfaces responsible for the design of both. You need to be very, very, worried.

The "Search" function box doesn't find things that are there! Why?!

The "Search" function box doesn't find things that are there! Why? Eg: It doesnt show all my Sent and Received emails, but it will find an email that I half wrote and deleted. Unsure why or how to explain more fully.
I also don't understand if I type in "James email" or "J" into the search box and all the J / James stuff appears but it doesn't show the emails I know have been sent and I know are somewhere because I rang "James" up to check, but the search box shows random thing I am NOT looking for, even if I type in fully what I am looking for and test it by typing in full titles of things.
It also doesn't store all my sent emails in "Sent" box. Confused! I'm not sure if the "Search" box just isn't up to the job or if it is broken / i'm doing something wrong? Maybe the email address I use isn't set up properly?

This can happen sometimes if the cache is not cleared correctly when items are not deleted from your device.
The only solution to this is to do a restore to clean out the cache file.

You can't fix it. iTunes bought content is DRM protected. so it can only be played on authorized devices. i.e devices associated with the apple Id used to purchase the content. Its copyright protection that the rights owners demand.
Circumventing it, is illegal in most countries, and as such cannot be discussed here. If you want to play the content you'll need to connect your computer directly to your TV, or use some other device you can authorize for iTunes content such as an iPad, iPhone , iPod touch or Apple Tv.

An iPhone 3GS is too old to update to the very latest iOS and you will never be able to use apps that are compatible. The phone is just too old now in technology terms and the app makers have all moved on, so it's time to get a new phone.
Ideally, perhaps get an iPhone 4s or if you can afford it, an iPhone 5s or 5c which are the newest models.

Restoring osx from mybook: will iPhoto and iTunes be there?

My imac hard drive crashed. I did online restore. The system does not find the mybook backup via time machine. I can see mybook and it's contents in disk utility. If I restore from mybook to Mac OSX Base System in disk utility will iphoto and iTunes be there? If not, how do I retrieve them? What is the best way for me to proceed to be fully operational again? Sounds like the hard drive died. Good thing you have a backup. Unless your backup was on another partition of the same drive. Then that may be gone for good, too.

You can't. You need a verified billing address in the US in order to order from the US online store. And, whatever you order will only be shipped to a US address.
