Api for uploading folio to Folio Producer

Hi There
I am looking into whether i is possible to create a folio file and upload it to the Folio Producer without using InDesign.
1) Are there an api available for uploading folios to the Folio Producer?
     - Either through a web interface or by scripting InDesign?
2) Is there any documentation available for the folio format,
If neither of theese is availble currently, are there any plans in this direction in the future?

They aren't currently available. We hope to due this in the future for integration by editorial workflow systems providers and advertising portals.

  • API for uploading flexfield value

We have a fresh installation of Oracle EBS and start to do the setup.
I would like to know if Oracle has API for uploading flexfield values since we have hundred thousand values that we need to setup in a flexfield. Instead we use 3rd party sofware e.g : Dataloader we're considering if we make a custom program for uploading them.
    I appreciate your help.

    @Srini Chavali
this flexfield is for Accounting Flexfield.
    @Pillair
is this FND_FLEX_VALUES_PKG.LOAD_ROW can be used for Accounting Flexfield also ?

  • Announcement (January 16) - Folio Producer tools update

Digital Publishing Suite will be releasing new features and functionality Monday January 16 at 5:00 PM Pacific Coast time and Tuesday January 17 at noon. While the acrobat.com server is being updated, you may not be able to use the Folio Producer tools. New features include embedded overlays in slideshows, enhanced buttons that support sound/video actions, article relink, PDF pinch and zoom with all overlays, custom-created Adobe Content Viewer, and more. I'll post a more complete list after the update, or you can look at What's new in this release when help is updated.
Again, note that there are two separate installers: one for the Folio Producer tools and one for the Folio Builder panel. If you created a custom viewer using a previous set of tools and don't want to update your viewer app, install only the Folio Builder panel to stay in sync with the updated web client. If you want to update all your tools, install the Folio Producer tools first, and then install the Folio Builder panel. For this release, updating the Folio Builder panel is recommended but not required. See Installing digital publishing tools.
The v18 file format is a change from the previous file format, so any folio you create with the newest set of tools will not work with the current Adobe Content Viewer (2.2) or with custom viewer apps. Trying to open a folio results in a "Please update your app" message. However, if you have a Professional or Enterprise account, you can use the Viewer Builder to create a custom version of the Adobe Content Viewer so that you don't have to wait for Apple to approve. If you do not have a Pro or Enterprise account, you may want to wait until Apple approves the new viewer before you update your Folio Producer tools.

That's exactly why you should NOT have upgraded your tools !
You should have waited until you can work your way back from the end of the workflow (wait for your own or at least Adobe's upgraded and submitted Viewer to appear on the App Store), to the Folio's and Tools for InDesign (with new technical features) in the front of the workflow.

  • Update to Folio Producer Tools (Oct. 3)

Digital Publishing Suite will be releasing new features and functionality Monday Oct 3rd at 5:00 PM Pacific Coast time. There are now two separate installers: one for the Folio Producer tools and one for the Folio Builder panel. If you created a custom viewer using a previous set of tools and don't want to update the viewer app, install only the Folio Builder panel to stay in sync with the updated web client. If you want to update all your tools, install the Folio Producer tools first, and then install the Folio Builder panel. SeeInstalling digital publishing tools.
The v16 file format is identical to the previous file format, so any folio you create with the newest set of tools works with the current Adobe Content Viewer (1.9). Adobe submitted a new version of the app to Apple. When the new viewer is available, Preview on Device will work for the iPad (Mac only; third-party utility required). See What's new in this release.

    OK, I figured it out.
Deep in the Library folder (Application Support/Adobe/) there's a folder called "CS5ServiceManager" and inside that, there's a folder called "extensions". When I checked in this folder, there was another folder titled "Overlay Creator" but nothing about folio builder. I went back out to the Adobe folder and noticed that there was another folder titled CS5.5ServiceManager. Sure enough, inside the extensions folder was a Folio Builder folder. I simply moved that folder to the CS5ServiceManager/extensions folder, restarted InDesign and voila, Folio Builder appeared in the extensions menu.
I suppose it's possible that I accidently downloaded the CS5.5 version of Folio Builder but I honestly don't think so. Would the 5.5 version even work in InDesign CS5?

  • Access to Folio Producer APIs

Introduction to Folio Author Plugin for WordPress | Adobe Developer Connection
Adobe API Key and Secret, DPS Login and Password
If you are a DPS Enterprise–licensed publisher you can contact your Adobe representative to request a unique Folio Producer API Key and Secret. By enabling the Folio Author module to directly connect to the Folio Producer APIs, publishers can maintain a sync status with all article content published through WordPress. Publishing through the Folio Producer APIs will streamline the WordPress folio publishing workflow by uploading the article content directly to Folio Producer. You will also need to enter the login for the DPS account you wish to publish to, along with the corresponding password.

  • Uploading folio in Folio Producer

    Hi everybody there,
I'm working wiht InDesign CS6 and when I go ahead with uploading my folio in the Folio Producer I get the message (translated from Italian): one or more source files are missing from one or more article layout).
The verification check gives me the green light, in the link panel everything seems to be ok...
    I'm stuck.
    Help!
    Diwans

Check this link which shows you how to structure files: http://blogs.adobe.com/indesigndocs/2012/07/structuring-files-for-dps.html
You might have moved the source file (Maybe from one folder to another) which may be causing this.

  • Error when i try to upload a Folio in the Folio Producer.

When i try to upload a Folio in the Folio Producer i receive this message:
"An error has occurred while trying to publish your folio. We could not start this operation. Please try again later."
I need a solution guys, please?

When I've received this error in the past, two things worked to resolve it:
1 - Close and reopen the Folio Builder panel
2 - Quit and restart  Indesign
My problem has gone away since I updated to CC 2014.

  • Some suggestions for DPS Folio Builder and Producer...

Aside from some speed improvements, these tools fall short of a decent production system. Some improvements would be good for 2015.
    • red light / green light on wether an article in the folio builder needs updating.
    • put the order of the Kicker and the Article Title in the order it appears in the app (in Folio Producer) (i.e.: Kicker first!).
    • frequently after signing in to the Folio Builder, Indesign 'hides' itself and the finder appears. Irritating! Doesn't crash InDesign, just hides it in the dock.
    • On leaving the Folio Builder for a period, and then tapping on it - say after one hour dormant, it crashes InDesign, regularly.
    • it would be great to drag and drop several articles in Folio Builder and be able to move them. Currently only one at a time seems to work.
    • show a small thumbnail in the article of the indesign page (instead it shows a white page)
    • in 'article properties' KICKER should be at the top to replicate where it displays in the HUD. So many people get mixed up with this.
    • it would be great to change the name of an article by clicking on the name - not having to change 'article properties' - the same way that MSO names can be edited
    • would also be good to select the various options for articles in the FB by holding down CTRL or ALT
    • have an option to 'UPDATE ALL' in the drop down options in FB
Just some ideas - these would all help greatly.
    Dave

I'd love to see native widgets in the Folio Overlays window like in Muse (or Twixl) for Google Maps, Youtube and others.
Also more transitions for slideshows, and better image resolution for PDF articles (108ppi or 72ppi for graphics, depending on what you're doing, isn't enough for my clients).

  • Uploaded to the DSP folio producer - what next?

    Hi all,
I made two folios sizes, Iphone, and an ipad format. It also could have been an Android size. Shouldn't matter.
I updated everything to the DSP. The two are listed in the Organizer. All the required fields are filled in and I can hit the Publish button.
So far so good, no errors. When I switch over to the "Publish Requests", I see a  list for my iphone folio and my iPad folio. But that is it.
No comes the question: What do you do, when the folio is produced? Where is the app making stuff?
Also, when I am in the organizer and open a folio, I do not see the pages, I only see a header that I can drag back and forth.
Update: OK, I got this one. You have to use jpg or png not pdf. This can only be selected when you  create a folio. The panel that opens up the "default format" is set to pdf. You have to change this. Strange.
Also, I am working with a windows PC. With a paid CC account.
    Any suggestion is welkom.
    Thanks in advance.
    Dan

If you are using Creative Cloud you don't use Folio Producer at all, nor do you use "Publish".Inside InDesign, in the Folio Builder panel, select your folio and open the flyout menu and select Create App.
Note that as a CC customer you can only build iPad applications. We do not support Single Edition apps for iPhone.
You may find our publishing guide for Single Edition helpful, you can read it at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ppcompdoc/Step_by_step_guide_to_dps_se.pdf.

  • New ideas for DPS: Folio Builder/producer suggestions

    1. Would be great to introduce a feature into the Folio Builder that tells you which articles need updating - ie: red light // green light...
    2. Also - it would be great to be able to order the editions in Folio Producer in order of workflow. ie: relevant / current issue at the top.
    3. It would also be great to be able to 'hide' previously published editions - no need for them to be visible 100% of the time. Some sort of accordion drop down menu format.
    4. What about a colour option for the Folio you are working on? Faster access and easy for everyone to see.
    5. Would be great to copy a Folio to another DPS account within the same enterprise account. Special issues, templates, ads, etc. As opposed to 'sharing' it.
    6. When will be be able to view long scrolling pages (ie: longer than 1024 depth) in Content Viewer preview mode? They currently scale to fit the height of the screen. (ie: tiny width).
    7. How about using key commands in DPS for the overlay tools, and also the Folio Builder? Would make things a whole lot sweeter. I know you can set these up but is there a chance this will feature as standard, soon?
More to come... if you like.
    Cheers,
    David

Please submit your feature request at the link below which goes to our DPS management team for review   https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

  • Hi, I have the DPS Single Edition is but the Folio Producer public when the folio I alone was deprived. Why? How do I publish for the public? Thank You

Hi, I have the DPS Single Edition is but the Folio Producer public when the folio I alone was deprived. Why? How do I publish for the public? Thank You

You should look at our Single Edition publishing guide. You don't use Folio Producer with Single Edition. http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ppcompdoc/Step_by_step_guide_to_dps_se.pdf
Note that support for Single Edition in Creative Cloud ends on May 1st. Make sure you get your app completed and approved by Apple before then.

  • Folio Producer _Export to Desktop

Windows XP (soon to be Windows 7)
    InDesign CS5.5
    Fully updated.
Only downloaded Extensions for Folio Builder today.
I made a sample Folio and all went well.
    Uploaded to the Folio Producer.
After some rigmarole - I got it Published.
Then I went to Export the file to the desktop...
    The file finished exporting.
A temp file appeared on my computer.
Then it disappered - no file shown.
I checked hidden folders and file size of the desktop before and after export.
    Nothing is being Exported.

Whatever is available on the export.
It says Export Folio to Desktop
When I click that I get a dialog box.
    I click Export
    And select a location
    And nothing happens.

  • Folios Not Appearing in the Folio Producer

Neil Enns - Adobe - branching this issue into a new discussion from original over at:
Re: Use Preview on Device for Android on Mac - how to make it working?
Our issues of not being able to preview on android seem to be caused by an issue with our folio producer.
Currently we are only seeing a single old folio in the producer, none of the new folios we have created this year are appearing in our producer.
We have tested logins etc. but we really only have one email associated with all of our DPS accounts, and this was the only account we could successfully log with. Even clicking the "Folio Producer" option in the folio builder panel menu only displays that single folio.
When creating our folios, we have never checked the "Create Offline Folio" option.
From what I have read, it sounds like the folios should be automatically uploaded to the producer. Is that correct?
Aside from login / credential issues is there anything that would prevent our folios from appearing in the producer??
(Certificates or provisioning or anything like that?)
    Thanks in Advance.

Sorry... just thought I would just be super clear on some of the details.
    1) Logins are all consistent, across the board. - DPS App (InDesign) / Builder Panel / Content Viewer / Folio Producer -  We only have a single account that will actually allow us to log in to all these services, so as far as I can tell it's not a log in issue.
    2) Folios have all been produced as "online" ie. when we create the folio, we are NOT checking the "Create Offline Folio" option. (This is un-checked as the default)
Screencaps of folio builder panel menu and folio producer web interface attached.

  • Folio added to Folio Producer by 'delegate' account not visible to 'master' account

    Hi there,
A recently created 'delegate' account has uploaded a folio to Folio Producer, the folio is visible when logged in (to FP) as that delegate account. However, when I access the Folio Producer using the master account for this DPS license, the folio doesn't show - have we misunderstood/done something wrong?
      Thanks,
    Toby

The folio is uploaded in delegat account and not in master acount.
It will only show in delegate account. If you want you can share folio with master account.
