API Gateway snapins needed
Why is it so hard to find the API Gateway snapin for NWAdmin? Where can I
get them? Thanks Mike
Deleted and recreated the API Gateway but I don't have the "Required
Parameters" or the "Directory Synchronization" tabs. Tried using NWAdmin32
in 3 different Groupwise 6.5/Netware 6.5 systems but I can't get the tabs.
The gateway ojbect and the rest of the tabs are there. Any additional ideas?
Thanks Mike

Cool Solutions: GroupWise Snapins for the API Gateway
Guys, the GW55SP5SNAPINS.zip are the correct ones to use, not the ones on Coolsolutions 19293.html. Download the zip, expand it and then copy expanded files in the root of the \public\win32 directory.

API gateway/NWadmin/Require parameters tab
I installed the API gateway. When I create the API object and attempt to
configure it, the "required parameters" tab does not appear where I can edit
paths. Am I missing something?You need the GW5.5 snapins to make that work. Do you have a full set?

Assigning multiple interfaces for Oracle API Gateway (OAG)
We are deploying Oracle API Gateway to throttle our incoming API requests. We would like to keep the incoming external API requests separate from the internal configuration management so that they go through different interfaces when accessing the OAG server. This is mainly for security reasons so that the external people won’t have access to the interface used by internal operations team to manage OAG. Based on your experience, is there any standard best practice to accomplish this? We were thinking to perhaps use two of the server’s network interfaces with different IPs, one for the incoming API requests and the other for the internal admin management of OAG. But not sure if this is the best way to do what we need. We are aware of OAG's capability to support two separate ports to handle this situation, but would like a more secure set-up that could completely eliminate external access to the OAG management done by the IT team.
Would appreciate any thoughts on best practices used regarding multiple interfaces for OAG set-up. Thank you. Oracle Marketing Cloud.You are on the right track.
Here is how you can achieve this:
You can use multiple network interfaces on the UNIX machine and setup networking/routing in such a way that all external traffic comes on on one card and is routed internally via a different card.
Segregate difference types of services (i.e to be used by external clients vs internal apps) into difference different "Service Groups". Have each of these service groups listen on different port + NIC card (under Listeners, you can define a port to list to list on a specific network address and port instead of *).
Setup additional protection for services that will be accessed by external clients. Use "Threatening Content " filter to protect your services.
Setup 2 way SSL for the interface that will be called by external clients. Setup a DN based authorization check if you want to have both authentication and authorization.
Hope this helps.

GroupWise 7.0 API Gateway is supported for Exchange 2007?
Can someone confirm that GroupWise 7.0 API Gateway is supported for Exchange 2007?
I found a note in a guide that stated it was not YET supported as of 1/27/2008.bwalker2,

OEG/Oracle API gateway vs OSB
I see most of the capabilities which an enterprise bus offers can also be implemented in OEG or Oracle API gateway. I understand that OEG is a gateway and is meant to be used as first layer of defense for security. However, in terms of features and capabilities OEG has almost all the features that a enterprise bus like OSB provides.
OEG provides Monitoring capabilities -> SLA alerts, logging of payloads for auditing
Routing, transformations, and protocol conversions like accepting Rest messages and converting to SOAP and call soap services.
expect the features like dynamic routing, split join I see almost all features including throttling and caching are available in OEG.
Can some one tell me if it is a correct decision to use OEG instead of using service bus for implementing the interfaces.I was having the same same knowledge the one that you supplied. We have set-up the API gateway with bundled server.
But I was working with Oracle support on one of the other issue and Support engineer informed me when you deploy the services you can select the WebLogic server instance like Gateway server instance. This was confusing so I open the Oracle ticket and post the question in forum.
I know we can integrate the OAG with WebLogic but installing the Gateway product on WeblOgic JVM process was my doubt. -
Datasync Connection thats like the GroupWise 4 API Gateway
At GWAVAcon or BrainShare it was discussed a connector that worked like the old GroupWise 4 API Gateway. I have be looking for the software and documentation for it but have not found it. Is it released, and if so what is it's name, where is the software and documentation?

GroupWise 4.1 API Gateway v2 on netware server
Currently, we are using API Gateway on Netware 6.5 to receive fax from the
Rightfax Server to our GroupWise mailbox. Does any API agents which can
support GW2012 and OES2 now? If no, how can I receive the fax from the
Rightfax Server after the migration? Thanks!

Unless there's a newer version of Rightfax which doesn't reyly on 10
years outdated techniques, I'm afraid it would be messi. You're only
option would be to keep a Netware server around with the API gateway and
an older MTA version, and hope it still works in a 2012 system.

Exchange Gateway or API Gateway
We're running GroupWise 7.02HP1a on both NetWare and Linux. We're looking to cooperate with an Exchange 2003 system (maybe 2007 with a 2003 intermediary).
Not sure whether to use the Microsoft Gateway with API Gateway on the Novell side, or the Novell Exchange Gateway. Does anyone have experience with both that can comment on which one seems to function better? Is it a toss up and just a matter of preference?
Thanks for any feedback,

Also...The Novell Exch. gateway is under constant development, where the API one hasn't been developed

Ahh ok :) Thanks for the response... I'll push for the Novell Exch. Gateway. -
Outbound TLS web services from api gateway
Hello,
We want to call a webservice with TLS 1.1. OR 1.2 from the api gateway.
This is the error i get:
transient failure connecting to remote: peer disconnected unexpectedly.Hi,
I will assuming you actually mean TLS and not LTS.
If you want to use a specific Cipher you have to specify a custom list in your connection filter in the Ciphers field instead of DEFAULT.
List of ciphers: https://www.openssl.org/docs/apps/ciphers.html
Example in this screenshot.
Another common reason for the specific error message you don't have a CA Certificate in your certificate store for the endpoint you are trying to establish a connection to.
Cheers,

Where is API Gateway Functionality
Our GroupWise system is currently on NetWare servers. We want to move our GroupWise system to run on Windows servers.
There seems to be no API Gateway for Windows. How can I still do the things the NLM API gateway supported, when running GroupWise on Windows servers???dafitt wrote:

You can't......
But since I don't know what you used it for, then this just might be
your solution:

Hello,
There is a Novell 6.5 server wiht GroupWise 7.0.3 with one running GroupWise 4.1 API Gateway v2 for NLM module. This gateway is for the FAX service via Groupwise client. I would like to install another new api gateway for Bakcup Exec to send backup results via e-mail.
Do I have to stop the running gateway(FAX) to install the new gateway for the Backup Exec?
Thanks in advance.

All gateways must be shutdown when installing, since this most times
req. exclusive access to wpdomain.db
Yes, I beleave, but haven't tested, that you can run two API gateways
on the same box
Note when all this is said, that the API gateway is an old timer, and
as Dave suggested....if possible, avoid it

Hey everyone, we are running gw703 on suse10.1 with API gateway 4.1 on dos. We use this configuration to import our students email addresses from Google into our staff address books which run on GroupWise. The students have there own dummy MTA and PO. This system has worked well for us until we ran into a student who used a period in their email address.
WPC-API= 1.2;
Header-Char= T50;
Msg-Type= ADMIN;

Department= STUDENT;
Title= 9/9/2008 12:23:44 AM MTB v3.5;

To remedy this we were going to change the . to an _ for the objectID and were considering importing the address (address@domain) into the Preferred EMail ID field under internet addressing tab of the external user object.
Does anyone know how to do input the data into the external user object through the API import process?
Thanks,
