No, Oracle Forms is similar to Java in that it requires and executes within a "Runtime." In order to run your Forms 6 application you must have the Forms and Reports Runtime installed on the client computer. Take a look at the following document (Chapter 1.5) for information on "Deploying Completed Applications." Oracle Forms Developer and Oracle Reports Developer: Guidelines for Building Applications

I think that this property is found in the file format .ini,
    I forgot his name,
Is there one has found this information,

    thanks.

At a minimum, the creation of the TcpClient will need to change its parameter to the name of server you want to use:
    TcpClient tClient = new TcpClient("gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com", 25);

    Dear Friend,
It is possible to deploy 6i forms & reports by Apache Web
Listener. You will have to edit the httpd.conf configuration
file and add your virtual path as Alias. The Virtual Paths are
    /dev60html/
    /dev60cgi/
    /jinitiator/
    /dev60temp/
Reply me if youre are successful.
    Thanx.

I have more then half decent results with webcache as load balancer, but it still is a round robin (as mentioned before). This means that a session will not be transfered from one application server to the other once the session has been created.
So far I did not discover any benefits of a hardware loadbalancer over webcache, because (here it is again:) you are not able to transfer open sessions from one application server to the next. This has to do with the Oracle Forms architecture. In fact it is still client-server, only with the application server functioning as extra server ;)

  • Forms 6i and Reports 6i

We plan to deploy 3-tier architecture. Regarding that I have a query im middle tier.
Are Forms 6i and Reports 6i part of Oracle 9i AS OR come as a separate products?
    Thanks in advance.

Separate products. You don't need iAS to run Forms and Reports on the web. Any listener will do. Here's some additional info: http://www.summitsoftwaredesign.com/articles/article8.html

  • Forms 6i and Reports 10g

    Hello together,
You can see at the subject that I want to combine Forms 6i and Reports 10g.
Why? 6i does not support html interpretation and unicode.
So what do you think about the kombination with old (Forms) 6i and new 10g (Reports)?
How does the Reports published in 10g ?
    Paul
ps: sorry for my bad english

Reports in WebForms needs OAS (Oracle Application Server) to be published, they are viewed over the net in a browser.
It's a very bad idea to combine them and most of the things will not work, even if make them work it will cost you lot more than just simply, migrate your application to Froms 10g.
It would be easier for you to migrate your whole application to Forms 10g

  • Problem on integrating forms 6i and reports 6i on web

    Hai,
I am integrating forms 6i and reports 6i on web.if one user access the reports then no problem. If multiple users access the reports on same time the the server is goslow down, some error (memory related) is also coming. Please any body can explain about this problem?.
And tell me i have to use concurrent manager or without concurrent i can solve the problem?.
    Thank you....
    with regards,
    Thivan.A.S.

is your application server big enough for the application you host? Did you test it before going production with a stress test? There are several good white papers from oracle in the forms-section on the OTN.
it sounds, that you run out of memory when starting some reports. Because reports sometimes (depends on the report) uses much more memory than a form you can temporarily run out of memory.
check the memory usage on the server if possible, when running such reports

  • Compatability for Forms-5 and Report-3

Does Forms-5 and Reports-3 connect to Oracle-8i.I get a message Ora-03121 no interface driver connected function not performed when trying to connect.
    So please suggest

I can't find any matrix (as these are de-supported versions) but I have worked on Forms 5.0 and reports 3.0 with Oracle 9.0.1. And there were no issues. Thus, I may dare assume it should work with 9.2.0.8 as well, which is the terminal release for Oracle 9i.

  • Are Forms Builder and Reports available as Web Application?

We have a few developers working on custom forms and reports for various projects including EBS 12.x. To avoid the hastle associated with patching and upgrading all desktops, we are looking for a server based forms builder and reports writer.
I am familiar with UNIX based tools in EBS that can run with X-windows [on local desktop]. Created an SR with OS, but not getting a satisfactory response. I am looking for pointers to browser based tools. Do they even exist? I was hoping maybe something in Fusion stack might allow it.
    Thanks,
    Sachin

Thanks all for your feedback. Confirmed this with the Oracle Sales team. There is no browser tool available from Oracle. If you must avoid the desktop install, the only option is frmbld/rwbuilder in $ORACLE_HOME/bin (R12).

  • URGENT ! Making EXEcutable file in Forms 4.5/5/6 ???

    Dear Experts
    I am using Forms 4.5 & Reports 2.5 for Oracle 7.3.2 database.
Can I make EXEcutable file to run the application directly ?
If it is not possible in this version, Is it possible in Forms ver 5 ? ver 6 ?
If so, what is the procedure / menu sequence.
    Richard
    null

    Simply no way.
You have the forms runtime that you use to launch your .fmx.
So, you will have a batch file that launches your form using the forms runtime.
    It may be something like:
    D:\ORANT\BIN\F50RUN32.EXE g:\centrala\tlogin_noi_cen USERID=login/login@apollo usesdi=yes
This works for Forms 5.0 and the given form & database include some trick for logging on a "system user" without revealing the Oracle username & password that actually owns the object schema needed for the application. It may well be without logging on to a database, the user having to log on through the default forms logon screen, or you may design a logon screen of your own.
RTM on your forms runtime command for more details, and check the logon & logout built-ins.
If you must have applications in straight .exe files, give up using Forms and use some other tools (Delphi, C++Builder, VB, MSVC++, but not some Java development environment, that doesn't produce .exe either).

    BD

  • Conflict between Forms server and Report server (Urgent)

    Hell to every body,
I want to install oracle Forms6i and reports on my client.when i install Forms6i and after i run my forms on web they work well.but when i install reports server it install but when i run it on web it genrates error (the requested url was not found or cannot be served at this time. oracle report server CGI, Unable to communication with the report server.)
with this message my forms server also stop to work.I have tryed to install it with same port and with different port but i receive the same message.Plz tell me what me have to do.I am wating for Ur reply.
i have another question is that how i can install only the report server on client.

You are probably overwriting your web listener definition when you install reports after forms.
If you are using the webdb listener, then check out the *.cfg files in the listener\cfg directory. there you have the directory mappings and the CGI mappings keep a copy of this file before you install reports and then just add the missing lines to the file after you install reports.
To know which lines to add check out the last message that you get when you install (the one with the [info] and [action] lines)

  • Forms 6i and Reports 6i for Window Vista

    Dear!
How can I find out the software of Oracle Forms 6i & Oracle Reports 6i & Oracle Database 9i which supports Windows Vista 32-bit Edition.
    Please Helpme...

    Paul M. wrote:
Why so old (and desupported) products ?Because they work?
I've known sites that don't upgrade until the version they're upgrading to is desupported - at that point it's mature and has almost all the bugs found and either fixed or workarounds identified.
Another possibility is that their application relies on features of client/server, and 6i is the last client/server version.
We're still using Forms 6i for a combination of those two reasons. Client/Server will rise again! After all, dumb terminals have made a comeback (sorry, it's called webforms these days).
