Instant Messaging Server configuration failed after installation
Hi,
I have a problem with the configuration of Instant Messaging server as part Sun Java Communications Suite 6u2.
IM had been installed using commpkg install --altroot -installroot /opt/sun/comms2 (should run in cluster environment).
Running configure failed when looking for package SUNWiimin. Due to the altroot installation the package information resides under /opt/sun/comms2/var/sadm/...
Since configure is just a shell script those incorrect calls could be fixed (e.g. pkgparam -R /var/opt/sun/comms2 SUNWiimin instead of
pkgparam SUNWiimin.
Unfortunately configure calls com.sun.im.config.core.Configurator as a Java program. In this program IM_BASE seems not tobe set which leads to:

Configuration Failed after Installing 11gR2 Forms and Reports.
Hi all Gurus,
I have installed following successfully:
1. Weblogic Server 10.3.6.
2. JDK 7 64-bit.
3. Oracle Database 11gr2 64-bit.
4. Windows Server 2008 Ent 64-bit.
When I install 11gr2 Forms and Reports, it installed successfully,
after that I click “Configure”, then it open another window as “Configuration Progress”, which shows following modules to be configure:
Creating Domain
Creating Managed Server: WLS_FORMS
Creating Managed Server: WLS_REPORTS
Deploying Enterprise Manager
Restarting ApplicationServer
etc.
At very first “*Creating Domain*”, it shows “*Failed*", same with other modules
There is also no space or () in “Path Enviromental System Variable”.
Pl guide me !
Thanks in advance.

If you do not understand how to identify whether or not the machine where you are installing the product uses a static IP or not, please consult with your Network or System admin if you have one. In short, your Windows 2008 machine cannot use DHCP for obtaining its address, regardless of what the resulting address is.
As far as new failures, this is likely the result of you not completely cleaning up the earlier failed attempts. Before attempting to run the installation again, uninstall and delete all previous attempts. This means:
1. Uninstall FMw. Depending on how far the installation ran, you may find a Windows shortcut to launch the installer. If not, just delete the directories.
2. Uninstall WLS. This can be done from the "Programs and Features" panel on the Windows Control Panel.
3. After uninstalling the products, do one last scan of the file system to ensure that you have removed all related directories. Be sure to also delete C:\bea as it belongs to the WLS installation.
Once you have fully removed the installations, reboot the machine before attempting to reinstall.
Once the machine has been rebooted and you have logged in, ensure that you have accomplished the following before retrying:
1. You are a Windows user with "Administrator" permissions
2. The machine is not configured to use DHCP
3. The system PATH and CLASSPATH do not include parentheses symbols (e.g. (x86)) - I mentioned this earlier.
4. Ensure that you have reviewed the Sys Requirements doc and comply with its recommendations:
<blockquote>http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/ias/downloads/fusion-requirements-100147.html</blockquote>
5. Read the Installation Guide:
<blockquote>http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24269_01/doc.11120/e23960/toc.htm</blockquote>
Specifically, be sure to review the Troubleshooting section.
If after following these instructions you cannot install the product, I would recommend that you contact Oracle Support -

Mouse wheel scroll fails after viewing flash video
It appears that viewing flash videos on hulu or youtube "breaks" the mouse scroll wheel function. The rest of the mouse buttons remain unaffected - the forward/back buttons work fine, as does the mouse-wheel-click scroll and the mousewheel-left/right scroll.
The scroll function remains completely unaffected in other applications.
Closing the window or tab that had the "offending" site in it sometimes seems to return things to normal, but not always.
I use flashblock and noscript, but disabling either or both of these vital plugins seems to have no effect.
Just disabled both plugins again to test once more, loaded a vid on hulu, and stopped it; all seemed fine, but after hitting "back" to go back to my queue list there, the scroll stopped working.focus owner was null

[Lenovo Vibe X2 - AP]: SIM registration failed after firmware flashing
Hello forum,
I have a Lenovo Vibe X2 -AP, India version.
I flashed EU ROM in my phone only to realize that EU is meant for single SIM devices only. So in order to get second SIM working, I put CU & then TO ROM I found on needrom.com. With these Chinese ROMs my second 2G SIM started working but first LTE SIM was not getting registered. So I put EU ROM again .. Now both SIMs are not getting detected. IMEI is shown as "unknown".
There is no AP ROW ROM on the internet.
Is my device unrecoverable now? Do I Have any option?Hello. can you help with my post. ?

Flash Player Configuration Failed
I've been having this problem with Firefox 6.0.2 and Shockwave Flash 10.0.32.18
Every time I tried to download the Flash Player I got a Configuration Failed message.
I finally got around after noticing on the Firefox Tools -> Add Ons - > Click to see if your plugins are up to date that there was a message about Firefoix disabling Flash for security reasons.
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/
I downloaded the Flash player and the latest version of Firefox.
I uninstalled Firefox answering yes to get rid of everything.
I then installed the flashplayer before installing firefox.
Went to the website I was having the problem about missing plugin and it's now working fine.
Couldn't find this solution elsewhere so I thought I'd stick it up for anyone else having the same issues.
BTW I also had stopped my ad popup blocker and done the resynch time solution offered elsewhere.Try downloading the installer from http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889580

SOA Suite 11g TP4 "Configure SOA" step fails, after OC4J startup successful
I followed the installation instructions and got stuck in step 10d.
The build fails after announcing "*Trying to override old definition of task admin_client*", Oc4j has already started successfully.
The soa-infra-java.log file shows the publishing of shared libraries to fail because two libraries aren't found:
- apache.commons.fileupload
- oracle.fabric.runtime
The first is on the BAM import list, the other is for B2B. I did specify "Configure Basic SOA Components" though.
Both of these errors are announced as WARNING, but the build fails and SOA configuration is announced as failed too.

- Java 5 or 6?
- The preferences are set to use the integrated OC4J, the log refers to "standalone oc4j".
- How is oc4j started? Must the Environments variables be set through the system properties or on a startup script for JDev?

Unit test fails after upgrading to Kodo 4.0.0 from 4.0.0-EA4
I have a group of 6 unit tests failing after upgrading to the new Kodo
4.0.0 (with BEA) from Kodo-4.0.0-EA4 (with Solarmetric). I'm getting
exceptions like the one at the bottom of this email. It seems to be an
interaction with the PostgreSQL driver, though I can't be sure. I
haven't changed my JDO configuration or the related classes in months
since I've been focusing on using the objects that have already been
defined. The .jdo, .jdoquery, and .java code are below the exception,
just in case there's something wrong in there. Does anyone have advice
as to how I might debug this?
Thanks,
Mark

RAC - Oracle Grid Infrastructure configure failed
Hi, am trying to install 2 node RAC on Oracle VMs. Before the installation during the -preinst check there were few issues which were resolved (ex user equivalence). After that during the installation process of the Grid it failed at step "Configure Oracle Grid Infrastructure for a cluster". After it failed at this step, subsequent steps too failed which I asked OUI to ignore and then I ran both the post installation scripts. And then ran post crsinst which failed. Pasting below the output of the root.sh script, post crsinst and other checks.

Please help.before installation have u configure the private interconnect on both the nodes to same network adapter..
for example on node 1 if the private interconnect is on eth0 then on the node 2 it should use eth0 only...
for private interconnect use the hostonly option on both the nodes in the network configuration page of the vmware or virtual box..
and for public network it can be bridged
more over if you are installing on the laptop its good to configure the SSH using the OUI.. rather than doing it manually.. as it saves time
the private and the public networks should not have same range of ip address. like if public address are like 192.168.2.222/255.255.255.0 and private address have to be different like 10.10.1.2/255.0.0.0 (this is just an example)
have to configured the NTP.
any ways try installing the oracle rac on virtual box follow the steps given the below website they are pretty straight forward...

I attempted to install Sun JAVA ES on OpenSuSE 10.1. Taking one step at a time I installed the the Web Server and JavaDB The installation appeared to go fine but the configurations failed:

Could someone tell me where I start to look to troubleshoot why the Configuration failed.
ThanksJohn,
it looks like TID 7007653 - if you are wondering why you couldn't find
it, it's because the TID did not mention the specific error, I had to
hunt through bugzilla to find it. I have (as I hope you can see)
updated the TID so that others should be able to find it without having
to go through your pain...

error occured while using Kerberos authentication: The network path was not found.
Possible causes are:
-The user name or password specified are invalid.
-Kerberos is used when no authentication method and no user name are specified.
-Kerberos accepts domain user names, but not local user names.
-The Service Principal Name (SPN) for the remote computer name and port does not exist.
-The client and remote computers are in different domains and there is no trust between the two domains.
After checking for the above issues, try the following:
-Check the Event Viewer for events related to authentication.
-Change the authentication method; add the destination computer to the WinRM TrustedHosts configuration setting or use HTTPS transport.
Note that computers in the TrustedHosts list might not be authenticated.
-For more information about WinRM configuration, run the following command: winrm help config. For more information, see the about_Remote_Troubleshooting Help topic.

I have sought help, posting on the forum at community.office365.com -
http://community.office365.com/en-us/forums/158/t/212265.aspx. But I've got to a point where I believe the problem is more to do with how PowerShell is operating on the on-prem Exchange server.
Has anyone else come across this problem running the Hybrid Configuration Wizard?Hello Darrell,
Have you verified the settings of Powershell virtual directories for the on-premises Exchange Servers? The following article has a list of some common issues with that virtual directory and how to correct them:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff607221(v=exchg.80).aspxI would take a look at the one titled "Configure Kerberos Authentication" specifically to ensure everything
looks good.
As the article states you can run the Exchange BPA and it will check if any of these exist as well. -

The log states “Access to the path 'EULA_EN_EVAL.RTF' is denied.” I was able to find this file in D:\Program Files\System Center 2012\Operations Manager\SetupTemp\EN, but when viewing its contents I see it
was from the SP 1 upgrade as it starts off with “MICROSOFT EVALUATION SOFTWARE LICENSE TERMS MICROSOFT SYSTEM CENTER 2012 STANDARD SERVICE PACK 1.” Based on everything else referenced in the log file previously, it seems like it was trying to locate
this file in D:\Program Files\System Center 2012\Operations Manager\Setup. Also, I applied the product key after installing SP1 previously, so it was not running with an evaluation license.
Running Get-SCOMManagementGroup | ft skuforlicense, version, timeofexpiration –a
gives me:
SkuForLicense Version TimeOfExpiration
Retail 7.1.10226.0 12/31/9999 11:59:59 PM
The version (7.1.10226.0) is that of SCOM 2012 R2 (as I noted before, there was no rollback.) Everything seems to be functioning fine (Console, Web Console, Reporting Services.)
Is there a way to get it to re-run only the Final Configuration steps (which will probably fail again as the EULA file does not exist where it expects it)? I am not sure if there were supposed to be any further
configuration steps that did not get completed, so i dont know how stable SCOM is now. Should I re-run the R2 installer? Or is it OK as is? The only info online about a SCOM Install where the final configuration failed to install dealt with
an error upgrading the SCOM Console, which is not relevant to my situation. This is my test SCOM environment, running on a VM. I could revert to the pre-upgrade snapshot and see if another upgrade attempt completes successfully, but if that does
work I am concerned that something like this may happen in my prod environment, which is not running on a VM, so has no ability to revert to a snapshot.Hi,

Update of Development Configuration fails
Hello,
we created an SC based on template WebDynpro. During the project we realized that we might need more tools like CAF. So I added the corresponding dependency in the software component.
Now, when starting the NWDS it is detected that a new configuration exists.
Unfortunately after confirming that the configuration should be updated, I always get an error:

Anyone can help?Yes, you do need 4GB of swap, but just to not scare anyone off, the installer won't actually use that much memory.
It needs that amount of backing store because during the install, there are several large Java processes forking other Java processes.
I've installed on systems with small memory configs just fine-- crank up the swap to 4GB+ during the install, then get rid of the swap after the install. The install will probably use some of that swap, and because of this may take quite a while to complete, but it will complete just fine.
Hope that helps,
- Matt
