when i Run RSA1 in APO
i can able to see infosourc,infoprovider,Datasoruce,source systems,open hub destination
can someone explain what is the relation betweekn infosource,provided , data source
and what is HUB destination
how it is used in APO DO planning area and Pos and snp too
how to know what are the infosource, provider used in exsisting planning books

In case of APO DP, there might some infoprovider from which you are loading the data in planning area. Please check it from the following T-code
/SAPAPO/MC62 - Maintain Characteristic Values
/SAPAPO/TSCUBE - Load Data from InfoCube
Once you find the respective infoprovider information . Go to RSA1 fine the specific infoprovider , right click and click on show data flow which will provide the detail information.

Hi,
You can find the information in the Tcode: DB02, there you will have the option Table/View information, if you click on that it goes to the next screen, there you will have to give infoprovider tech name like /BIC/F****, then you can able to see the size and other information of the infoprovider.

Query for Info Provider

How to create query for infoprovider ? I have selection criteria, calculation and result screen for queries taken from one reference query. I am new to this part so dont know which transaction we will use to create query. Is it APO part or BI/BW part ?

I have to create queries for info provider. I have one reference query. I have to create similar selection screen as that of reference query for new query. Calculation which needs to be included in query is provided also result screen for query is given.
how to create query in APO using above input? Which transaction do we use to create query ?
I heard about BEx query analyzer which is there in BI for query creation . Is similar BEx functionality is available in APO ? If yes , what is t-code used for that? I know one tcode - RSRT with which I can see existing reference query selection? Is there similar tcode for query creation also in APO?

An InfoProvider is an object for which queries can be created or executed in BEx

An InfoSet is a special view of a dataset, such as logical database, table join, table, and sequential file, and is used by SAP Query as a source data. InfoSets determine the tables or fields in these tables that can be referenced by a report. In most cases, InfoSets are based on logical databases.
SAP Query includes a component for maintaining InfoSets. When you create an InfoSet, a DataSource in an application system is selected.
Navigating in a BW to an InfoSet Query, using one or more ODS objects or InfoObjects.You can also drill-through to BEx queries and InfoSet Queries from a second BW system, that isConnected as a data mart.
The InfoSet Query functions allow you to report using flat data tables (master data reporting).Choose InfoObjects or ODS objects as data sources. These can be connected using joins.You define the data sources in an InfoSet. An InfoSet can contain data from one or more tables that are connected to one another by key fields.The data sources specified in the InfoSet form the basis of the InfoSet Query.

Inserting characterstics Infoobjects as data target
Definition
You can flag an InfoObject of type characteristic as an InfoProvider if it has attributes. In the InfoObject maintenance on the Master Data/Texts tab page, you set the With Master Data indicator .
The data is then loaded into the master data tables using the transformation rules.
Use
You can define transformation rules for the characteristic and use them to load attributes and texts. It is not yet possible to use transformation rules to load hierarchies.
You can also define queries for the characteristic (more exactly: for the master data of the characteristic) and then report using the master data.
In InfoObject maintenance, you can also select two-level navigation attributes (the navigation attributes for the navigation attributes of the characteristic) for this characteristic on the Attributes tab page. Select Navigation Attribute InfoProvider. A dialog box appears in which you can set indicators for individual navigation attributes. These are then available like normal characteristics in the query definition.
Integration
If you want to use a characteristic as an InfoProvider, you have to assign an InfoArea to the characteristic. The characteristic is subsequently displayed in the InfoProvider tree in the Data Warehousing Workbench.

Error reading data from Info Provider

Hi Folks,
I am executing a report and am getting the following error message:
Error reading data of Info Provider.
System Error: Whole Number Overflow on Multiplication.
The infoprovider being read is a Virtual Info provider Based on DTP/3.x InfoSource.
Let me know what could be the potential problem here ? How would I fix such issues.

I have 0GL_ACOOUNT info object that act as a master data.
the problem is when I want to expand at the info provider instantly create short dump

I have read the sap notes and that is exactly what happen to me.
but I don't understand how to correct it.
It said :
This error cannot be corrected automatically. Use the method DELETE_VERSION_FROM_DB of the class CL_RSTRAN_STAT to delete the existing A version of the transformation manually in the target system.
Ensure that the transformation is permanently deleted from the database; therefore, you should verify that the correct transformation ID is specified (in the short dump, the TranID that is specified in the short dump is in the variable L_TRANID).
anybody know how to use delete_version_from_db ?

Two info provider in one query

i am currently looking at two info providers from where data needs to be pulled, but i am not able to get two info providers in one report while using the query designer.
is this a restriction. can i have more than one info provider in one report?
what would be the procedure to get two inf providers in one report

Hi,
You can create a report through query designer only on single InfoProvider(either Multiprovider, InfoCube, InfoSet, DSO,Master Data Object).
If you need to get data from more than 1 info provider you have create a Multiprovider which will include the relevant info providers, and then create report on that Multiprovider.

BEX F4 help values from posted values in Info Provider not from Master data

We have an info object called Archival purpose and it is display attribute of Master data info object Archive Number. Both Info objects are used in a cube. Posted values in cube have only two value for info object Archival purose which is "EXCOM" and "EA".
But when we do the F4 in the bex query, we see some other F4 values. Although Master data is having other entries but we have defined in the bex property of both the info object to read the f4 value from the posted values in the info provioder.
Please suggest how to get values in bex F4 help only from posted values in info provider and not from the master data.

Hi,
You don't need to change the Infoobject definition as it will become global and it will be applicable for whereever this infoobject is used. Instead you can manage this setting for this particular Infoprovider.
Go to RSA1 and double click on your infoprovider used for this query, go to change mode. From the right hand side dimension tree search for the Infoobject for which you want to maintain this property. If it is navigation attribute then you can search it in navigation attribute tree.
Once you find the infoobject right click and from context menu choose the first option "InfoObject specific properties". In the next popup in the last option about F4 values for filter you can select the option, "Only values from Infoprovider".

My InfoProvider is not expandable..

Have you created Info cube under your Info area in Info provider tab.?
Can you tell how you created your info cube.?
If you don't have any data targets under your info area then you can not drill down your Info Area in Info provider tab.
If you already created info Cube,i think it will be under NOT ASSIGNED FOLDER.
Just search your Info Cube using find option in RSA1, see under which info area your info provider is.
Just drag and drop your info provider into your info area.

Info-objects of an Info-provider under one Transport request

Hi All,
I am in the process of transporting the Objects from development to QA environment,
As a first step in the transport process, i need to transport the info-objects before transporting other info-providers, transformations etc,
i have several info-providers like BBP_PO, SC, SCA etc, which inturn has more than 100 info-objects that needs to be put under seperate transports.
Say i have info-provider ZBBP_SCA which has 50 info-objects, i need to put those 50 Info-objects in one transport request and then info-provider ZBBP_SCA in another transport request and then its transformations etc.
Can anyone tell me the steps of only collecting the necessary info-objects of ZBBP_SCA alone to be put under one transport.
I tried to do that, but it is collecting all the info-objects, info-areas related to ZBBP_SCA, instead of collecting only necessary objects of ZBBP_SCA.

Hi pooja,
So your intention is not to include anything other than target in second request.
For this right click over the object from where you dont intend to transport and say donot transport any below in transport connection.
The reason for target also showing the info objects and so on is that they are all necessary to form this cube definition.
Anhyhow, as you have ensured to collect them seperately go ahead with the approach mentioned above.

Problems generating Hana analytic privileges based on BW info provider

Hi Experts
We generate Hana views based on BW Info Providers. We follow the guide “SAP First Guidance – SAP NetWeaver BW 7.40 on HANA View Generation”. . The views appear perfectly in Hana Studio but we are not able to generate the authorizations in Hana.
On the BW side we have a authorizations relevant info object in the DSO that generate the View in Hana. The info object is linked to an authorization object that again is linked to a role. The role is the assigned to a user. We have synced all our users from BW to Hana using the standard concept (same username in BW and Hana).
When the view is generated we can see that view in Hana and we can see that a role is also create in Hana. But there are no analytical privilege created and there are no entries added in the table RS2HANA_AUTH_STR. The user also do not get the role assigned to him.
Are there any other steps that need to be done to be able to generate the authorizations in Hana based on BW authorizations?
We use BW 7.4 and the generate function (not the import function into Hana).

Please check if below characteristics are included in the analysis authorization assigned to the user:
0TCAIPROV = Info provider id
0TCAACTVT = 03
0TCAVALID = *
0TCAKYFNM = *
<authorization relevant characteristic of your info provider> = Required value.
If you are assigning these authorizations now, run RS2HANA_CHECK tcode for this user. This should generate analytic privilege and user should get the role in HANA.

Inconsistent Query Result in SEM-BCS using Virtual Info Provider

We have just upgraded to BW 7.0 and SEM-BCS 6.0. When we run an existing 3.5 BW query for BCS through the Virtual Info Provider against the basic consolidation cube, we are getting inconsistent results. Sometimes we get the correct result, and other times our results are not rolling up correctly causing an out of balance on our balance sheet query. We did not make any hierarchy changes between the query executions. Has anyone else experienced this? We cannot see the cause of the inconsistency. Everything looks good when running through RSRT DEBUG. Any help on pushing us in the right direction to solve this would be appreciated.
