APO DP key figures forecast
Hello,
can anybody explain the different key figures for forecast:
e.g.
9ADFCST statistical forecast
9AAFCST sales forecast
9AREVFC sales revenue forecast
9APPROD logistics forecast
9AMANUP final forecast
9AADDKF4 forcast deviation
9AADDKF5 customer forecast
What is the difference?
Where does the information/values come from?
Thanks,
Michael
Hi Michael,
9ADFCST statistical forecast - Generated based on historical input
9AAFCST sales forecast - Sales forecast is the forecasted values by sales.
9AREVFC sales revenue forecast - Sales revenue from forecast values
9AMANUP final forecast - Corrected forecast values via manually
9AADDKF4 forcast deviation - Forecast difference between actual sales minus the forecasted qty
9AADDKF5 customer forecast - Forecast values given by customer.

Roll Over text for key figures
Our business users are requesting us to apply the "Roll Over Text" to the APO/DP Key Figures. Currently the text pop-up displays only the key figure name when you keep the curser on it. We would like to have pop-up text with 40 character values when the curser keeps on the keyfigure in the Interactive Planning Book.
We have more than 60 keyfigure in each planning book (total around 200 Keyfigures) and most of the key figure names are looks similar, to avoid confusion we would like to maintain the 40 character note should display when some body would like to know about the keyfigure.
Is there any possibility to maintain the rollover text in Planning Area or Planning Book or any where else ? Is there any performance issues if we design in this way ?Write a macro which can run on start.
Row: Forecast ( Attributes ) = ROW_TOOLTIP( 'Forecast Constrained Plan' ) .
In this case, the Row Forecast will have tool tip "Forecast Constrained Plan"

Open sales orders key figure in APO
HI Gurus,
Can anyone please throw some light as to where i need to be looking in this scenario. Our BW resource extracts open sales order quantity from ECC and loads into APO DP. The issue that i'm seeing is the open sales order quantity key figure is not getting updated properly in APO. For example to begin with we have a quantity of 800 EA in the period of 12/2014 (we go by fiscal period and in this case 12 would represent September 2014), 01/2015(October 2014), 02/2015(November 2014). The customer service group has deleted the quantity completely from period 12/2014 (September 2014) in ECC. But when i look in the planning book in APO, i can still see the quantities in the periods of 12/2014, 01/2015 and 02/2015. I was expecting the quantity from the period of 12/2014 to not showup in APO as it has been deleted in ECC. Our BW resource also confirms that he has loaded it properly in APO. Where can i start looking to resolve this issue.
Thanks
RaviDear Subhash, Thanks for your reply and i apologize as APO DP is new to me and i'm picking up things, can you please guide me to which tcode should i be going and checking this. Also reloading the planning area can you xplain a little more please
Okay i have checked in the tcode /SAPAPO/TSCUBE and this is setup in the process chain for us which runs once a month on the opening day of the period. I hope this is what you were referring to?
Under the key figure assignment in TSCUBE tcode, i see that the 'Add data" check box is not checked under Target area. -
Business Process: Final Demand Plan Key Figure in the past for APO DP
Hello APO process experts,
I have a BPX question for APO DP process owners, consultants or gurus:
1.- Have you ever seen in any SAP APO customer, that in their APO DP planning books, they chose or designed to update the Final Demand Plan key Figure in the past closed historical buckets with the Actual Sales?
Meaning that that in the Past closed historical Buckets, Actual Sales and Final Demand Plan, look exactily the same.
Meaning that they create a dynamic Final Demand Plan key figure so to speak, yet they did not choose to create a key figure that also keeps the Final Demand Plan as originally entered.
2.- Would you think that doing the above, without keeping any keyfigure in the planning book that actually shows what the Final Demand Plan was in the Past, is a good practice?
The Demand Planner could still retreive the Final Demand Plan from BI reports, yet, dynamically they could never really see it in the planning book.
3.- Do you think the above dynamic key figure would bias the Demand Planner's behaviour to manipulate the future open Final Demand Plan buckets to enter volumes in order sum to a monthly total, independently of what were the over and underachievements in the past (since they are not really visible to him) ?
I would really like your feedback,
thanks in advance!
JD LoeraHello Thanks for your feedback.
I agree with your point, and I hope that i still get more feedback from other Business Process Experts.
I am trying to build a case for my client, to challenge the decision of their initial design as this practice is going to hurt the Demand Management process, if what they intend to achieve is a true "unconstrained demand plan"
Much appreciated
JD Loera -
Reset Manually Entered Constrained Forecast Key Figure
We use Demand Planning to forecast future Sales Volumes. Not too sophisticated. We take a monthly extract from R/3 which summarize the last months Sales Actuals.
based on a given period of Sales History we then run a statistical forecast whicgh generates future months foreasts.
Once a manual adjustment has been made to a key figure by either Acciount Manager/Marketing Group?Demand Planner, that particular field is highlighted in 'YELLOW'. Once this is done any future copies of stat numbers into those fields does not overwrite the users manual inputs. As you would expect.
However we have some apparently manually entered values in our Constrained Key Figures that are completely incorrect. However because the cells are yellow, the copy key figure macro will not be able to overwrite these values. Is ther a way I can somehow reset these yellow cells so that they no longer resist the copying of data into them.
Apologies if I am using the incorrect terminology here.
Thanks for anything you can suggest.I think your requirement could be met by exploring macro functions CELL_BG(), CELL_FG(), CELL_INPUT(), ROW_BG(), ROW()FG or ROW_INPUT() functions. All the macro functions can be made conditional, example a specific technical/business situation leads to color/editability etc.

APO key figures - units of measure
I am using APO V5.1.
Via RSA1 I have created a key figure of data type Quantity and unit = 0UNIT.
I have assigned this key figure to my planning area and planning book.
The planning area has unit of measure = CAS, and this is the unit of measure shown for my new key figure in interactive planning.
How can I change the unit of measure for my new key figure to D(ays)?
Thanks for any advice...Datta,
Thanks for this reply.
I have followed your advice...
I have a key figure with data type 'Number'.
In interactive planning, this key figure is appearing with a blank uom.
In the planning book design, on the 'key figure attributes' tab, I cannot however make any changes to the key figure attributes including uom, as they are greyed out.
Any ideas on this?
Thanks... -
APO DP - use of key figure change mode 'Redisaggregate'
I am using the macrobuilder in APO DP V5.
Here one can use a 'redisaggregate' change mode for a key figure.
But what is a practical example where this could be relevant and useful?
Thanks,
Bob Austin, Atos OriginSrinivas,
Thanks for this.
I now understand the concept.
But what does the 'redisaggregate macro' look like?
Suppose I have key figure X with disaggregate key figure APODPDANT.
I have a fcst run at high level, and I recalculate APODPDANT.
What is the structure of the macro to now apply the new APODPDANT values?
Is it something like key figure Y (change mode = redisagg) = key figure X?
Thanks,
Bob. -
APO DP - use of standard key figure 9ADPDANT
I am using APO DP V5.
I want to use standard key figure 9ADPDANT as part of loading of data into APO via the BW data mart.
I see that 9ADPDANT has data type FLTP (floating point). If I am loading data into this key figure from, for example, an external source file, in what format should I be holding this source data?
Thanks,
Bob AustinShibu,
If I am uploading 9APDANT from a source spreadsheet to a target InfoCube, can the source values have a simple decimal format, which will be auto converted to floating point format?
Thanks,
Bob. -
Basics about the forecast key figure
Hello
There are lot of Key figures in use -
Statistical Forecast
Ex-Post forecast
Corrected forecast
Adjusted Sales history
Any idea what each stand for ?
Thank you in advance
KKHi
Statistical Forecast : This is system generated FCST based on FCST Technique used
Ex-Post forecast: Ex-Post Forecast is just calculating the forecast in the history horizon .This is calculated through the forecasting technique adopted by you .
Corrected forecast : After system has created Stat FCST, we can manipulate as per our requirement and this is called as correct FCST.
Adjusted Sales history :- It regarding the clearing the sales history, In case of some business extreme condition we have some peaks and down in sales history. We require to correct them , to get appropriate Statistical Forecast. This corrected sales history which is also called as adjusted sales history get used for Forecasting.
Thanks

Read Only Key Figure in APO DP
Dear Friends ,
Need help in the mentioned scenario :
One Planning Book with two data views due to change in portfolio say regional manager and area manager .
Key Figure updation of market intelligence by regional manager in his data view to be shown in the data view of the area manager data view but with no access to write on the key figure - market intelligence by regional manager .
Please support .
ThanksHi Gurav,
Answer for your question:
1. If you want to make key figures as read only then you can goto design mode> select key figure> right click and select output only.
2. If you want to make seperate roles for both region manager and area manager you need not create two planning books but when you create roles you can assign data views to respective users. ( authorisation object is C_APO_PB, in that data view is APO_DVIEW)
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Jagadeesh.
Pls reward some points if it helps. -
Meaning of CONDET key figure in standard 9ASNP94 APO SNP planning book
I am trying to clarify the use and meaning of the CONDET (capacity consumption details) key figure in the SAP standard SNP planning book 9ASNP94.
Any advice appreciated...Hi Frank,
This indeed is practical requirement wih no simple solution ( at least we did not find).
We created a background job for deletion of the stocks ( which were updated through IDOCs like your situation) at specific periodicity. The jobs were made as per planners with specific variants and when planner would like to delete the stocks, the job will be run.
Another option could to be copy the standard program /SAPAPO/RLCDELETE to a module program and check validation at the input screen, before calling the deletion program.

APO-DP - Change in Calculation Type of Key Figure in Production Environment
Hi Team,
I wish to know how to make a change in Calculation Type of Key Figure in Production Environment. I wish to change calculation type from "P" to "S" and also wish to enter Disaggregated Key Figure.
Regards,
Tarun JhaHI,
The TR will not move the changes as you are expecting here.
Any changes to planning area, below 5.0 need to de-intialize the planning area.
just like
1. hold the latest back up
2. de-intialize planning area
3. make the required changes to planning area
4. initialize planning area and do conisistency checks
5. load back the data to planning area at all CVC level
all the steps need to perfom, in Dev and Quality and Production servers,
Plan the activity for a weekend so that users will not get disturb*
All the best

Updating data in APO demand planning key figure
Hi
We have a key figure in Demand planning which is not present in Info cube, This key figure is just avaialable in SAPAPO SDP94for manullay key in some data, Now I want to update data in this key figure via extrnal file i.e text file.
Could u suggest some ways for this, Remember this key figure is not present in Info cube, Hence we can not feed in External file to Info cube, We some other way for updating data in this key figure,
Thanks and regards,
Nitin LavheIf your client is not Ok with standard way of flat file upload, Also If you will get a file from external customer on weekly basis then definitely they will put it somewhere either on local server or application server.
I would suggest, Define the format for the flat file,Ask User to put that file on application server, Write a simple program to get data from that file on application server, Update the KeyFigure using standard BAPIs available,After updation delete that file from server.Schedule this program in background on weekly basis so that every time it will check for new file on server path and update the Keyfigure accordingly.
I know this is a custom development but this will work.
Thanks,

Key figure Explaination in SNP planning books 9ASNP94
Dear Experts ,
I am curious to know regarding SNP planning books key figures
when i am exploring sap standard Planning book
9ASNP94
Data view : SNP94(1)
I can able to see many KEY FIGURES Please refer below
I AM NOT SURE how they are used in planning , i mean what is clear definition of those key figures and i see some key figures are grey out and some or open for entry
how to find those detail information
when i go to T code SDP84 - define planning book
i can able to see those descrption and infocubes but not sure how to understand clearly , would be more thankful if some give me a clear explaination of it

Use of key figure 9ADFCST in SNP
I am using APO V5.1.
In particular I'm using SNP heuristics, and we have forecasts in the standard key figure 9ADFCST.
As I understand it, this key figure contains the 'unconsumed forecast', and so is the original forecast (from APO DP) minus open sales orders and minus sales order despatches.
I want to be able to distinguish between the situation where 9ADFCST is zero because the original forecast is zero (and we have no sales orders), and where 9ADFCST is zero because it has been fully consumed by sales orders/despatches.
Any advice on this would be appreciated...Hi,
I would recommend that you do not touch the 9ADFCST Key Figure and add a new Time Series KF for storing the original forecast (let's say CORFCST).
When you release forecast from DP to SNP, in a next step, also copy your DP forecast to CORFCST using the program /SAPAPO/RTSCOPY.
So, use original forecast KF CORFCST to see the values of the forecast that came out of DP, while 9ADFCST will tell you how much unconsumed forecast remains. When both values are zero, it's clear that your forecasted value was zero, otherwise, you could find out the original forecast using the KF CORFCST.
Of course, other option is to go to forecast tab in RRP3 (product view) and check the consumption situation (how much of the forecast is consumed vs how much was available initially).
Hope this helps.
Thanks - Pawan
