APO or SCM

Hi All,
Please give the more information about APO 5.0 or SCM.How it is used on Real time and how to Optimiztion of business cost and Planning ...etc.I need How to transfer data from the R/3 to APO system. I have knowledge on SAP-ABAP and some function knowledge.
Thank you,
Durga

Hi Durga,
It's APO till version 3.1 and then SAP merged few more things and then started calling SCM-APO after 4.0.
The real time integration between R/3 and APO is through Core Interface.
You can get more details on CIF in <a href="https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki">wiki</a>. Browse for SCM and then for CIF.
The optimization of business cost planning is mostly done in APO-SNP- optimizer and CTM(may be). The integration is all real time with R/3 through CIF.
Hope this helps.

  • Create Planned order based on qty in APO or SCM

    Hi All,
I am working product view in APO or SCM system .
Requirement is create new planned order with sales order individual length and planned order pegged to sales order in APO system.
    Example
    Sales order has  factor 4 and individual length 1000( 4 x 1000 ). Total quantity is 4000M.
We need to create 4 planned orders. Each Planned order has a quantity of 1000M.
Please help me and  let me if any function module is there.
    Thank you,
    Durga Vinta

    Hi All,
Thank you so much for your response.
I have placed a X pushbutton in product view- > Element tab.
If the user presses X then screen will display with sales order information based on Factor
    Example Sales order has 4 x 1000 = 4000M
    Factor individual length
    1         1000
    1         1000
    1         1000
    1         1000
If the user selects the 1st and 2nd and presses save button. We need to create two planned order for sales order. Each planned order has 1000 qty.
Please let me know if any function module or BAPI in APO system.
    Thank you,
    Durga Vinta

  • Difference between APO and SCM

    Hello All,
        I am new to SAP...
Can somebody tell me the difference between SAP APO and SAP SCM.....
    Regards,
    Mary

    Hi,
SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO) is the planning component of mySAP SCM, the supply chain management solution provided by SAP.
SAP APO is used to make strategic, tactical and operational decisions and supports you in performing the following planning activities:
    Demand Planning (DP)
    Supply Network Planning (SNP)
    Production Planning (PP)
    Detailed Scheduling (DS)
    Deployment
    Transport Load Builder (TLB)
Transport Planning and Vehicle Scheduling (TP/VS)
    Global Available-to-Promise (gATP)
SAP's endeavor into the advanced planning solution market was with the name SAP APO. There are other APS solutions in the market from Oracle, Manugistics, i2 and a whole host of other companies providing specialized planning solutions
Over the years SAP has brought the SAP APO solution under a wider umbrella called SAP SCM. Since version 4.0 of APO it has been called SAP SCM. So in the release strategy of SAP you will find SAP APO 3.1 followed by SAP SCM 4.0
SAP SCM is a more complete solution that covers planning, networking, coordinating and execution. In addition to SAP APO, which is still the core of SAP SCM, there are other applications such as SNC (Supplier Network Collaboration - erstwhile ICH), SCEM (Event Management), EWM (Extended Warehouse Management) and SPP (Service Parts Planning)

  • Function that zero out negative forecast in APO DP (SCM 4.0)

    Hi,
I tried to look for a thread about the above function but I have no luck.  Would you kindly share a light if you have come accross negative number being generated automatically? (no macro is set up for negating forecast)
This is the note that I would found from SAP help, but there is no actual direction to get it.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/cf/d5e13ffb118f15e10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    Thanks
    Anita

it depends on the forecast strategy used....negative forecasts are automatically made zero by most strategies
some forecast strategy will generate negative forecasts ( am not sure which of them do).. but in that case you can use a macro to make it zero
I did not understand if you wanted Negative forecast or you want to zero out the negative ones

  • APO DP SCM 5.0 Disaggregation issue + performance guide

    Hi All,
I am again facing a u201Dsmallu201D disaggregation calculation issue. What I am trying to do is to calculate Corrected sales history to the most detailed level through disaggregation.
    KF1: Sales history
    KF2: Correction
    KF3: Corrected Sales history
    Situation:
The calculation is performed via background job:
    Aggregation level:
    Country
    Sales org.
    Product
    Selection:
    Country: 001
    Sales org: 2000
    Product: 12 & 13
I use macro for the calculation:
    Start
    Step1: KF3 = initial
    Step2: KF3 (redisaggregation) = KF1 (Values) u2013 KF2 (Values)
    End
    Planning Area:
KF3: I (if initial, based on a another keyfigure) u2013 KF1 , Time based disaggregation (not relevant)
How can I get KF1 based disaggregation for KF3? Is it even possible with the above solution or should I come up with a totally different approach to this? Calculating in the most detailed level is not possible because the system canu2019t handle so many CVCu2019s. Although I kind of wander that, the system is almost a beast and it can only calculate 50000 CVCu2019s in a 5 hour? Any suggestions on this one also?
    Thanks in advance,
    Juha

    Hi Manimaran,
I just tested your suggestion and the results are:
    Sales history KF1:
    SUM: 1000
    Product: A: 750
    Product: B: 250
    Product A for Customer 1: 325
    Product A for Customer 2: 325
    Product B for Customer 1: 125
    Product B for Customer 2: 125
    Correction KF2:
SUM: 1000 (automatically split via disaggregation, this number is inserted in planning view and after this the background job is executed)
    Product: A: 500
    Product: B: 500
    Product A for Customer 1: 250
    Product A for Customer 2: 250
    Product B for Customer 1: 250
    Product B for Customer 2: 250
Corrected Sales history KF3 (after background job and disaggregation):
    SUM: 2000
    Product: A: 1250
    Product: B: 750
    Product A for Customer 1: 625
    Product A for Customer 2: 625
    Product B for Customer 1: 375
    Product B for Customer 2: 375
As I analyzed this it seems like it is disaggregating it evenly? I have checked that the planning area settings are:
    KF3: P - (based on a keyfigure) Keyfigure: KF1
so on that basis there should be no even disaggregation. I also tried with different aggregation level settings but the results are the same.

  • Uploading Roles from ECC 6.0 to SCM 5.1 (APO)

    Hi,
We are trying to re-use some roles created in SAP ECC 6.0 in order to be used in a APO(SAP SCM 5.10) system.
We downloaded and uploaded the roles to the target system, although we do not identify any problem in doing that I will like ask the experts if there is something that I should do or not, and if there is something that we have to take into account in doing this.
The roles are only for some activities that are the same in both systems like user administration, authorization administration and other technical stuff that is the same in both systems.
Our goal of course is that every time that we make changes in the source system we will download and upload in order to keep updated the target system.
I would like appreciate your opinion
    Best Regards
    FedeX

    > We downloaded and uploaded the roles to the target system, although we do not identify any problem in doing that I will like ask the experts if there is something that I should do or not, and if there is something that we have to take into account in doing this.
Well, there could be a difference in objects, customizing switches and patchlevels which could lead to unwanted (and sometimes almost invisble) problems. If there are objects in the roles that do not exist in the target system (or if they're linked to a non-existent object class) you will not be able to see or maintain them in PFCG.
This will also cause problems when transporting these roles through the target landscape.
So I'd suggest you thoroughly compare TOBJ on both systems and make sure these tables are identical for the objects concerned. That should cover technical issues. After that make sure the systems behave the same (customizing etc).

  • Dangerous APO and BI Transaction codes

    Hi experts,
I have question Dangerous APO and  Transaction codes
    Background :
We are in the process of implementing SOX controls for the new APO and BI Systems
    Questions :
What are the Dangerous APO Transaction codes which should not be assigned to any one in Production system
What are the Dangerous BI Transaction codes which should not be assigned to any one in Production system
    Additional Notes
    System which we are having
    APO
    Version  : SCM 5.0
    BI
    Version : BI 7.0

    Praveen,
I am a puzzled that you would ask such a question.
Authorizations ALWAYS derive from requirements.  In this case, Sarbanes-Oxley speaks of control mechanisms.  Your SOX auditors should tell you what they consider to be critical, and they should advise the client company as to which transactions should be controlled, and how best to control them.
There is no transaction that should be disallowed to everyone.  That would eventually make the system unusable.  The question is, "how many people should have these critical transactions, and how should the execution of these transactions be monitored and controlled".
Generally, the APO portion of SCM should require less SOX controls than ERP, since APO is mostly a planning system, and not an execution system (there are some exceptions here though).  Likewise, the BI portion of SCM usually contains no financial reports, and therefore should have relaxed controls over, say, the main BI instance used by your company.
Don't make the mistake of strangling yourself to satisfy your perception of what you think an auditor may require.  Make them tell you the minimum requirements for compliance.  Anything beyond minimum compliance with SOX is costly.  This question is then a matter of your company's policies.  I usually vote for 'no additional restrictions' (but my poor vote doesn't usually count for much).

  • Can I work backward from APO CIF function module to ECC Integration Model

On our APO box, I have activated the "new-style" BAdI which is called by the CIF function module /SAPAPO/CIF_TLANE_INBOUND:
    CALL BADI lr_ref_cif_enhance->inbound_tlane
How can I find out what the business analysts have to do in their ECC Integration Model
to make sure that the CIF_TLANE_INBOUND function module is called when the Integration Model is activated (so that the BAdI will also fire)?.
Our current Integration Model does fire the BAdI /SAPAPO/IF_EX_TR_TRANSFER , but not the "enhance inbound tlane" BAdI called by CIF_TLANE_INBOUND.
    So ...to restate the question:
How do I figure out what I have to tell the business analysts  to do in their Integration Model to make sure that CIF_TLANE_INBOUND is called when the model is actrivated ???

    Hi David,
I was away in a long meeting and just came back. A quick check in another R/3 (Enterprise) system showed the following:
There is no FM in the R/3 Enterprise box as CIF_TLANE_SEND and in APO (SCM4.1)
/SAPAPO/CIF_TLANE_INBOUND. This is not surprising esp when I check the other system versions based on which I did the initial research. It was ECC 6.0 with Enterprise Extension DFPS switched on (checked SWF5) and the APO system SCM 5.0.
Lucky me I checked the internal Sandbox systems instead of my client systems otherwise I would have posted there is no FM CIF_TLANE_SEND
Forget the SD Scheduling Agreement object I mentioned in the previous reply. That master data object will not trigger FM CIF_TLANE_SEND. I found the correct FM for it CIF_SDLS_SEND on R/3 side and /SAPAPO/CIF_TPSCO_INBOUND on the APO side.
So you have to necessarily use the BADI or User Exit enhancements for TPSRC and NOT TLANE.
In any case if its a Contract or Scheduling Agreement or Purchasing Inforecord master in R/3 (or ECC any version) then TPSRC is the FM used to create External Procurement Relationships (txn /SAPAPO/PWBSRC1) in APO during CIF transfer. Also a corresponding Transportation Lane (txn /SAPAPO/SCC_TL1) gets created when the Procurement Relationship is added in APO. Otherwise you can always manually create a transportation lane in APO which is an important master data for External Procurement Order / Requisition creation in APO.
Hope this helps. I am logging off for today - so no more further digging. But thanks to you I discovered another small "blackbox" of SAP. Will blog on this some time later - till then you can take a look at the [CIF Wiki|https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/SCM/CIF] page.
    Best regards,
    Somnath

  • Availability information at CRM using ECC with APO?

    Dear Colleagues:
We are using availability information in CRM at ECC. Now we have a requirement to start using for some plant availability at SCM-GATP (APO).
We should do availability information at ECC and if the plant is using SCM do the availability information at SCM and if not, do it at ECC.
Does someone no if this is possible?
    Cecilia

    HI
Mania you can do this availability info up load from CRM to Apo SCM but you need to transport the Availability info from CRM to Apo or SCM with the help of basis ask u r basis to move availability info from crm to Apo or scm, while you can directly Delta Up load from CRM to ECC R3 Ac4 and You can make use the Availability info and you can read this at ECC.

  • Set up activities in PPM

    Hi all
I have th e following recipe:
    operation 10
    phase 20: set up phase
    phase 30: prod phase
When transferring to apo the production version, it is created in APO the PPM.
Everything is ok, but when I enter to modifiy something in the PPM and try to activate it, I get the error message in APO:
operation 20 only contains set up activity.
And I can't activate the PPM.
    Thanks

    Hi,
We also faced a similar issue, but with PDS. The cause is you can not have only setup operation in your routing, becuase as per the new logic developed by SAP in APO after SCM 4.1, the setup should be followed by a produce activity. They call it as processor based logic. Whatever I had read and understood, while rescheduling it takes the produce activitiy as the reference and tries to schedule the setup activity.
In our scenario, we also had 2 operations, one with only setup and other with only produce. The way we created a workaround is on the Work Center. I beleive you also must have assigned different resource to each phase (20 & 30) in your routing. What we did is we add processing time formula in the scheduling tab of the resource which has only setup activity. And we ensured that this processing time formula is a constant for 1 second in order not to disturb the scheduling.
I'm not sure whether it works for you. But let me know if you got anyother solution on this issue.
    Thanks,
    Rajesh Manoharan

  • How to find the Source system table

    Hi Experts,
How to find table name in SCM APO system, because I am getting error in process chain, the corresponding  table in the source system does contain any data. check the data basis in the source system.
Please provide the solutions how to find the table in APO (DP scm bi).
    Thanks in advance.
    Bye,
    Bharathi.

    Hi
I guess you knew that in APO, apart from APO tables.. it is Livecache where the actual transaction data is stored.
But, if you just want to find some of the existing table in APO.. simply go to se11 and in the table name put the pattern as /SAPAPO/* and press F4. It will give a list of tables with the descriptions.
You can find out yourself all APO tables application wise with the following steps:
    Use transaction SE11 or SE16
    - Press F4 in the selection field
    - You will get popup... in the below line of the popup selection SAP Applications.
Here you will get the Application list.  In that select your own application for which you want to get the table details
    e.g. SCM- Supply Chain Management --> SCM-APO --> Advanced Planning and Optimization --->SCM-APO-MD - Master Data --> /SAPAPO/00_PRODUCT
    Here are some examples:
/SAPAPO/v_matloc - material, material number location view
    /SAPAPO/TSAREAKO - Planning Area details
/SAPAPO/TSAREATE - Planning Area technial fields
Since there are thousands of tables, I cannot list them all here.
    or
You can use transaction ST05 (database trace) to help you find the tables you are looking for. You can turn on the trace function, run an APO transaction, and looks at the ST05 logs for the tables

  • DP/SNP certification.

    Hi Guys,
This place has been of a lot of help to me before, so I want to thank all of you who answer my questions.
I am beginning to prepare for SAP APO certification for the DP and SNP modules. I have with me  SCM220 and SCM230. Which other material do I need to prepare for the DP/SNP certification? Can anyone tell me any useful websites where I will find information about the material required?
Another question I have is, I am a Master of Science specialized in SCM, how much time should I require to prepare for this certification exam? Can anyone give me a rough estimate?
    Thanks a lot.

    Hi,
Which country are you taking this certification? Can you send me the link for the course description. The reason why I asked this question is that I did 3.0 certification in US in April and I cannot find it in the list now. SCM 200 (APO overview), SCM 210 (CIF), SCM 220 (DP) and SCM 230 (SNP) are the course materials I read and those are the partof exam. If the exam is changed or the content is changed, you can decide which one to take from this SAP APO DP/SNP (C_SCM3) certified may give you some information.
Having Masters in SCM does help a lot but you infact would be learning the way SAP deals with it. It is difficult to say how long it may take as it depends on the individual. But I for you, I guess, 6 months if the course is about DP, SNP and CIF and about 9 months if the course also includes PPDS.
My sincere suggestion would be to take enough time to get thorough with the content and prepare all the questions and answers given at the end of each unit and then take the exam. Taking the exam in hurry and failing hurts a lot more than a month or two delay.

Its a shame that you have decided to post a job requirement here. In my opinion you should be barred from using this portal.
You, and people like should leave this alone for the developers who are trying to help each other by sharing their knowledge.
I will also report you to SDN admin.

  • Cannot see the infoareas through Bex

    Hi:
I have requested for and got BI Admin access for a Dev APO server (SCM 7.0). I tried to logon to the Bex query designer but cannot see the infoareas (or the cubes underneath them). There are several infoareas and cubes on the server when I look at them through RSA1.
What am I doing wrong and what should I request for?
Also, the report designer does not come up for some reason. A window is coming up saying that the report designer stopped working, etc. (this is the standard windows message when a program takes too long, etc.)
Appreciate your help with both of these issues.
    Satish

The infoareas should show up regardless of whether we have built a query or not. I worked with the security and after a step by step analysis, could finally get to see the infoareas.
Regarding the other issue with Report Designer, it was the same problem described in the thread below
Error message in Report designer "Activate Default Theme: 0TRADESHOW"
The issue was that unless the theme was added through transaction RSOR or RSORBCT, it was acting up when it was trying to come up. After the theme was added, report designer came up fine.
    Thanks everyone,
    Satish
