APO source system folder in BW

Hi Experts!
In need create the APO source system in BW.
Does I need create this in 'Sap folder' or in 'External System' folder?

Since APO is an SAP application and you'll most likely be using native functionality for extraction, you should set it up as an SAP system, just like what was done for R3/ECC (I'm making the assumption that you already have that connection).

ERP source system appearing in BI folder

Hello All,
We have done a refresh of our ERP system from PROD to QA.
When I restored the connection of the source system in BI it is appearing under the Source System folder BI, instead of the SAP folder.
Also the symbol is different of that of an ERP source system.
Does this matter? Why does it think it is a BI system when it is an ERP system? Has anybody experienced this or no how to resolve it?

Non-Sap source systems

Hello, i need to ask about db connect. who needs to create the initial db connect connection? basis or bi person? also, what is the process if it is bi person's responsibility? Do i need to create a sm59 connection under "HTTPS Connection to external server". then go under db connect under rsa1 > source system and create a system there? please help. thanks

Please follow the below steps in RSA1 to create Source system
Create DBMS Source system in Source System folder of Administrative WorkBench(RSA1). Fill in the following fields
1. DB Connection = (Logical System Name)
2. DMBS =(DBMS name u2014 see above)
3. User Name & DB Password = (Database username and password)
4. Connection Info = ( database and host name on which database is running)
5. Permanent = (if checked; the SAP workflow will try to re-establish the interrupted connection)
6. Connection Limit = ( number of simultaneous connection to DBMS; 0=max(255), 1=1, 10=10)
7. Connection Optimum.
Create DataSource: Call Transaction Code RSDBC u2013 Maintenance screen DB Connect: Overview of Tables and Views. The Following entries should be maintained in this screen.
1. Application Component
2. DataSource Type
3.Transfer
4. Selection
5. Display Data from the Table or View
6. Checking the DataSource
7. Generate DataSource:

How to delete source system in BI system

Dear Experts ,
recently we finished client copy in BI production system to quality system,
now we are facing problem with source system connections in bI system
in RSA1 APO production system's source system is comes to BI quality system now i need to delete that APO source system in BI quality system ..please let me the process how can i delete source in BI quality
can i delete it as below
log in into BI quality system --> RSA1 --> select source system which i need to deletse --> right click & delete
or we have any other process to delete it.

Apart from the two ways to delete the source system:
1.- log in into BI quality system --> RSA1 --> select source system which i need to deletse --> right click & delete
2.- Execcuting the FM 'RSAP_BIW_DISCONNECT.
If you cannot delete the source system:
Use fuction module RSAR_LOGICAL_SYSTEM_DELETE to delete
the source system:
1 - Go to SE37.
2 - Run fuction module RSAR_LOGICAL_SYSTEM_DELETE.
3 - Fill with the parameters as mentioned below:
      I_LOGSYS          = FUENTE
      I_FORCE_DELETE    = X
      I_NO_TRANSPORT    =
      I_NO_AUTHORITY    =
Or follow the recommendations from note 140276, Solution 2:
"You cannot delete the source system. Two cases have to be distinguished:
    o The source system still exists.
       Switch to Transaction SM59. Find the destination which has the
       same name as the logical system of the source system from field
       SLOGSYS in table RSBASIDOC (see above).
       - Such a destination does not exist in Transaction SM59. In this
          case, you have to create the destination to the source system.
          Name the destination equal the entry in SLOGSYS from above.
          Then return to the Administrator Workbench and repeat the
          deletion.
       - The entry exists but a remote login is not possible. Correct
          the communication parameters.
       - Everything works. Change to Transaction SE37, function module
          RSAR_LOGICAL_SYSTEM_DELETE, Sngl. test. Parameter I_LOGSYS =
          <log. name of the source system>, I_FORCE_DELETE = 'X'.
    o The source system no longer exists or was replaced with another
       source system with the same IP address.
       Proceed as described in the first case but make sure, that the
       field 'Target host' contains a not existing server in the
       maintenance screen of the destination (Transaction SM59). If
       necessary, change an existing entry. Later when you delete, the
       system asks you whether you want to delete, although the source
       system is not available. Select 'Ignore'. "

I have a problem with source directory of the File Adapter,
XI system is not reading the files from the source directory in the sequence when there is more than one folder .
See the below description regarding the same.

Source system appearing in BI folder : Not able to delete entry RSBASIDOC

Hi all,
Iam creating source system connection from ECC to BI system.
But the source system appearing in BI folder all the time, i found one note 1087980 and tried deleting an entry with SRCTYPE = M from RSBASIDOC table with FM RSAP_BIW_DISCONNECT , but the system shows error message OTHER_ERROR and the entry does not get deleted.
For this SAP recommended to check a valid RFC connection between ECC and BI system , i have checked it and the RFCs are working fine for it also.

follow this steps:
In the source sytem
SE37 e launch the FM RSAP_BIW_DISCONNECT
you will find the BIW and OLTP log on the RSBASIDOC
So run the FM.
IF you find the OTHER_ERROR, may you have to check the RFC connection. (If the source system was been refreshed, you have to create a RFC to PROD).
You should encounter this error ( Not able to delete entry RSBASIDOC), when you try to restore the DS: in this case infact, is the IDENTIFIER (TSPREFIX) that creates problem (so you have to delete the relevant entry from the table).

R/3 Source system under BI Folder in source system tab

Dear ALL,
i had created R/3 Source system under the context menu of SAP folder in Source System. but after creation it is reflecting under BI folder and SAP Folder is empty, eg:DEVCLNT100 it is shown under SAP BI FOLDER.please help me out in this regards

Source system moved to differnt folder in RSA1

Hi,
We did system refresh from R/3 production to R/3 Quality system.
After this, as a part of post refresh activities, we did restore source system connection in RSA1 of BI Quality system by
right click on R/3 Quality system and choosing the option Restore.
It asked us user id and passwords for aleremote and extremote users ( background users for BW and R/3 quality ).We provided those.
Then it asked us to provide the userid and password for administrator for R/3 quality system.
We provided user id and password of DDIC user in R/3 Quality system.
Then it gave the following message:
User already exists in source syst. Only continue if profile and password are correct.
Continue? or Cancel?
We selected "Continue".
Then it gave us the screen with following message:
RFC destination already exists in source system .Do you want to use this destination, check, or cancel source system connection?
Use ? Check? Cancel?
We selected "Use"
Then it gave us the following message :
Connection BB is used in the R3QCLNT100 source system as a connection BQ1CLNT100 to BW.
Do you want to delete this connection in the source system? Connection Is Restored After It Has Been Deleted Successfully.
Delete ? or Do not Delete?
We selected Delete.
After this, restore took place successfully but there is one problem.
After restore, in RSA1, Source system R3QCLNT100 ( source system name for our R/3 quality system ) is shifted from the folder SAP ( source system type for SAP source system ) to Folder BI ( source system type for BI system )
Please suggest how to shift the source system from BI to SAP Folder.

Hi Tarun,
have you checked RFC connection before you did Restore?
Might be that you need to adjust RFC settings (TA SM59) for that particular source system.
Seems to me that IP of your R/3 QAS system is pointing into some BW system. That's why your source system was shifted under BI source systems in TA RSA1.

Transformation issue while connecting multiple source system of same type..

I'm working on APO-BW integration project. I want to connect BW QA & BW PROD to APO QA. I've already connected BW QA to APO QA & it is fetching data correctly. RFC part & other BASIS part is already taken care of. I've done export datasource (for mater data, cube etc) in BW PROD & replicated in APO QA. All BW PROD datasources are imported as RSDS (7.X) in APO QA.
Now my question is how to make sure the transformations will take source system as BW PROD too? I want 2 datasources (one from BW QA & other from BW PROD) to connect to same inforprovider in APO. I've transported 7.x datsource from APO DEV to APO QA environment along with transformations. In conversion of logical system names in APO QA I've given source system -BW DEV & target system - BW QA. So the transformation automatically takes data source as BW QA. It doesn't take source-system - BW DEV & target system - BW PROD as it conflicts previous setting.
Is only option that I need to manually maintain transformation from BW PROD datasource or there's another better alternative?

HI,
You are getting multiple IDOCs into BPM. But output you are getting one message right? IF so, your N:1 Mapping is not done correctly.
i.e your target message type should have occurence of 1..n and also the interface mapping. Closely obsever the N:1 mapping done in the BpmPatternCollectMerge.
Also go to SXMB_MONI->PE and check the Technical Details to make sure that, you are getting multiple IDOCs and you are executing the N:1 Transformation step correctly.
Also in the N:1 Mapping, check out the context you used. Make it root . Then test the mapping independently in the Integration Repository.

I have solved this problem from SDN by seeing below reply to some others question. Thanks Ajay.
I think this problem comes if you have used more than one client in BW (for example if you logged on to 000 and ran admin workbench initially after installation, and then if you prepared another client for use as BW client).
Look at OSS note 410952, it mentions of the same error. The fix as mentioned in the note is as follows
Symptom
You receive the error message when trying to connect a source system to the Admininistrator Workbench:
"No entry for BW_USER in table RSADMIN exists" (message number RSAR 059).
Additional key words
RSAR059, APO, RSADMINA
Cause and prerequisites
In table RSADMINA, the BW user is not maintained for ALE.
Solution
Maintain the entry using the following path:
Call Administrator workbench (transaction RSA1).
From the 'Settings' menu, select Global Settings'.
If an entry already exists in the field "BW user for ALE", delete this.
Enter the correct names for the BW users in this field.
Save the entry.
You must restart the Administrator Workbench (RSA1) now.
The source system can now be linked without errors.

******On further investigating the error message I get the following Diagnosis and Resolution details.*****
Diagnosis
    The sequence for creating time series in LiveCache is:
    1. Characteristic value combinations are created which in turn create
        planning object in the system
    2. The combination of version, planning area, and planning object is
        initialized, creating time series in LiveCache. This combination is
        so to speak the LiveCache anchor.
    This error occurs if
    o   New characteristic value combinatons have been created for the
        master palnning object structure that is assigned to the planning
        area, but the time series objects were not created.
System response
     Processing cannot continue.
Procedure
     There are two methods of creating time series objects for individual
     characteristic value combinations:
         a) Re-initialize the version without deleting the time series
             objects beforehand.
         b) Execute the report program /SAPAPO/TS_LCM_PLOB_DELTA_SYNC.
     In general SAP recommend that when you generate new characteristic value
     combinations, you set the Create time series objects indicator. This
     prevents this error from occurring.
Please let me know what I need to do to rectify this error. Please send me the steps to overcome this error.

Hi tyson,
Has it run good before? if yes, try to restore the source system.
by right click on the source system then choose restore.
It will require you to fill in some information about RFC destination. contact with your basis to have the information about: Target host, Sys no, and Sys ID of your APO system.

SAP Source System showing up as BI Source System in RSA1

I have 2 BW systems and 2 CRM Systems. In one BW system, when I create a SAP Source system in RSA1, It gets listed as a SAP Sources system along with ECC and all the rest.
The Logicial Systems and RFC Connections all appear to be the same between each pair.
In the other system, using identical procedure, it the source system gets listed as a BI Source System. The 2 CRM systems have identical components and version levels as do the 2 BW systems.
Any idea why and if this would make any difference and how to correct.

Hi,
To fix this, you need to do a restore (& not a delete) of the source system in BW, having deleted the RSBASIDOC entry in the source OLTP system.
This will force the BW system to interrogate the RSBASIDOC table entry in the source system again and it should then realise that it is an R/3 system (not a BW system) and move the entry to the SAP folder.

Unable to create IDES R/3 source system in BI

Dear Experts,
I am stuck in some stage while creating source system in R/3, Pls guide me.
Following things are carried out already...

Now I am in source systems on BI side.....I am following these steps,
click on source system on LHS, right click on SAP folder on RHS and select create.
Now from here I am unable to move further...I am getting connection of BW to source system option, what is available destination here...what shud i select ? is it the ligical destination or the actual R/3 server ?
In target computer(Server) what shud i select ? if it is application server how do i find it ? Any t-code ?
Please guide me.

How can i create source system in BI

Hi gurus,
I am using BI 7.0, its SRM addon.
in that i used source sytem sub functional for creating flatfile.
there i got folder like BI, SAP, EXTERNAL SYSTEM, FILE, DB CONNECT, UD CONNECT, WEBSERVICE.
so i trying to create PC souce sytem by right click on FILE folder,
it popups window with
Logical system nae---i have given current client
type and release---What is that?? which one i have to select...it shows as ORA, TLF, XPD.
I dont know for flat file source sytem why they are asking the above stuff, even we select ORA it shows error as <b>"source system has same name as BI"</b>
pls hep me out on creation of the source system'

For that I have created infoObjects, insource with those objects, and infocube.
now how can i give the connections in between them like as 3.X, let me know with steps for loading Master and transaction data to Cube.
