APOGEE DUET USERS plus MacBook for Sale . . . sort of . . .

Hello.
I decided on getting an Apple Duet for my new interface. As I only need two inputs at a time, it is a logical choice as it is only made for Macs and I just bought a MacBook Pro with 4G RAM and 2.2Mhz processor. I love this much more than the MacBook that I burned up last Friday. Anyone need a MacBook with 2G RAM and 100G HD and CD/DVD-2L drive? I think that if one is skilled, he or she should be able to clean the coffee out of it and it will more than likely run like new. I would even throw in AppleCare good until Nov./09. If anyone wants to gamble on this, I would sell the MacBook for $300.
Now, for the real business. I would like to know if Duet users would like to have a place to go to discuss the DUET, its setup and functions, tips and tricks, etc. Well, do you want this? I think that there are oly 3 or 4 of us on here. CAn you please email me at: [email protected] and we can try to get together to work and discuss via the net, conference calling on Skype and such.

  • Preparing Macbook for sale.

I've read many different version of what I want to do and would just like some clarity! I apologise that this no doubt have been brought up many times before, i'm relatively new to Macs and just don't want to do something completely stupid! Anyhoo, forgive me.
As the title states, I wish to prepare my Macbook for sale as i'm looking to upgrade.
I want to erase all of my data on the drive and then reinstall Lion.
    In recovery I see this:
    750.16 GB
    >Macintosh HD
    SuperDrive (greyed out)
    disk1
    >Mac OS X Base System
I'm presuming I select Macintosh HD and securely wipe the data? Or do I select the top drive?
Am I right in thinking Mac OS X Base System is my recovery partion?
If I wipe the drive will I get the option to restore the OS when it's complete?
I have the late 2011 Macbook pro which came with Lion.
    Thanks a lot.
    Steve

Install or Reinstall Lion from Scratch
If possible backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion: Select Reinstall Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
When the installation is completed do not restart the computer. Shut it off. This way the next owner will be greeted by the Setup Assistant as if the computer was new.

  • Namede user plus license for ADF

Can somebody clarify, please, what "named user plus" is when it comes to Weblogic Standard Edition?
We are developing Fusion application (ADF BC, ADF Faces stack) which is targeted for companies with no more than 10 employees who's gonna use that application.
What would be the best licensing path for that?
We are planning to suggest to our potential clients to purchase Weblogic Server SE named user plus license for 10 users. If we understand correctly that would be 10 * 200$ = 2,000$.
Can we purchase less than 10 user licenses if company has less than 10 employees?
Would that 2,000$ be the final price for license or there is something else that we also have to take into account?
    Thanks,
    Nebojsa

I think your understanding of the license is correct.
However, for a situation where you are an ISV developing a software package that uses Oracle technology, you can get a better license term if you just embed the Oracle solution into your product.

  • Infamous noise problems with Apogee Duet on 2013 Macbook Pro

    Hello everybody,
I just wanted to report that my new Apogee Duet (for Mac/iPad) is making the infamous crackling / popping noises on my new 2013 15" Macbook Pro. What's important to note is that this machine has an SSD drive and NOT the fusion drive (which has been said to cause these noises with various audio interfaces). Through some research on this site some people have suggested that upgrading to the new beta version of OS X 10.9.2 fixes these problems. I also heard that changing the sample rate to 96Hz in Maestro 2 helps. I will try each of these solutions and report later on.
This is a serious problem which has rendered GarageBand to be more like GarbageBand.

  • User status transfer for sales orders from ECC to CRM

    Hi,
We use business process with CRM sales orders that are transfer to ERP.
Users can change user status in the sales orders in ERP.
How we can replicate custom user status from ECC Sales Order to CRM Sales Order?
What is the steps to do this for CRM 7.0?
    Denis

    Hi,
We are creating quotation ZPQT in CRM which is then get replicated to ECC on saving it on “Accepted” status. In ECC we then create sales order of type ZPOR. Sales order gets replicated in CRM and also updates document flow. This sales order is called as “Project Sales Order”. PS team assigns WBS element to this order and does billing later on. Upon billing document is created sales order status in ECC changes to “Completed”. This is system status. But the issue is status of order ZPOR is CRM remains in status “Inprocess”. We want it to change to “Completed”.
We have similar scenario with order type ZOR. In this order after delivery and billing ECC assigns status “Completed” to sale order and same gets replicated to CRM.
In CRM for user status Completed we have assigned system status as FINI. Both ZPOR and ZOR has same status profile assigned at header and item level.
Our concern is if status is changing back in CRM for ZOR then why not for ZPOR. What is stopping system to do so?

  • Preparing my MacBook for sale...

    Hiall,
I am planning on upgrading my MacBook to a MacBook Pro in a few weeks, and want to figure out how to best prep the MB for sale, system wise. I'm currently running 10.4.11, on a 2.16 C2D machine. I've just upgraded the RAM to 4 GB.
I'd like to scrub the drive, and re-install the OS to Leopard. What's the easiest way to do this...should I upgrade, then do a scrub and reinstall? Basically, I'd like the computer to as fresh as if...well, they were opening the box from Apple themselves. I'm most likely selling to a friend, but would still like to get all of my personal files off the machine anyway.
Any advice anyone could give me would be great!
    Thanks so much in advance,
    Liz

Thanks! I just ordered a copy of Leopard, which I will provide to the buyer, along with the original Tiger disks should they decide to downgrade later on.
I'm not super worried about my data (since it'll most likely be someone I know), just want to make sure that she'll have a fresh computer to play with (she was planning on buying a new MB, but it'd help me out if she bought mine so I can get a new toy!!!)
    Thanks so much!

  • Mic Preamp ? Apogee Duet ?

I just bought an Apogee Duet and a MacBook laptop w/logic Pro 8. I was wondering what would be a great good Mic Preamp to use with, I heard that the Duet has good preamps, so I don't want to buy a preamp that is less worth of the stock pre's in the Duet (overkill). Thanks !

If you just got Logic and the Duet, congrats. This is a great combo and you can get killer sound from it. Start there and ask yourself whether you are happy with what the Duet is doing for you - if you are your money is best spent on advancing your mic collection, monitors or headphones, maybe a nice compressor (RNC is cheap AND good...) - good cables if you don't have them yet - Mogami, Monster, etc. You've got a good 2 channel pre and AD/DA device there, make sure the rest of your recording chain is up to snuff.
But let's say you DO want that something extra in the mic pre category. Do you like the clean pre sound you get from the Duet? Go for a "colorful" pre like a Chandler germanium (surf gearslutz.com for more info on what's what - once you get into "colorful" there's a lot of different colors). Don't like the Duet's pre sound, want an all-rounder? The Great River MP 1NV is a great choice (and at 1K for one channel it should be). Does pretty clean to pretty colored, very versatile - but remember that it's only one channel of pre for ~1000 bucks, and depending on what you're recording you may want to do stereo. Still, if you want that for the meaty RAWK guitars and in your face vocals, you can do the stereo acoustics with your clean pre (the Duet).
Just remember that you're only as good as your weakest link in the chain, and do your homework (start by surfing gearslutz) if you're really plunging into recording. It's an expensive hobby, invest wisely.

  • Restricting the user options in the sales information system

    Hi,
We use user information system for sales managers. We use T-code MCSI and the we choose customized information system S904.
Our goal is to restrict the options of each sales manager because we want that the sales manager only have access to his own information.
We try with the Parameter_ID VKB (sales office) but in this case the field is previosly filled but the sales manager can change it.
We use Authorization Data also but the sales manage still also can access to the sales of the others sales manegers.
    How can i solve it?
                 Best Regards
                     João Fernandes

    hi.
Please find the answer below :
"In addition to the type of update, you can also define the period unit to be used in the updating
    process.
The period unit specifies the intervals in which the statistical data is to be cumulated. You can
    choose from the following periods:
      Day
      Week
      Month
Posting period (you may also need to specify a fiscal year variant)
You can determine the period unit of the update for every standard information structure.
In the SAP standard system, the default period unit for updating all the information structures in
the Sales Information System is month."
Hope this will help you .

  • After using apogee duet, mac's built in mic & logic's track headers for recording are not working properly.  How do I fix it?

    I use logic 9
After using apogee duet for mac, I was away from my home studio without the duet and wanted to record vocals via the internal microphone on my mac book pro.  (Obviously, I know it wouldn’t be the same quality.  I wanted to do it as a draft, because I had a melody in my head and wanted to record it so I could remember it later.)
After opening up a project I was unable to record audio.  I noticed the track headers had changed.  Sometimes the “record ready” button was missing.  But whether it was there or wasn’t, the same thing kept happening… After pressing the “record button” or the “record ready” button a window would pop up that said, “No input source selected!”  I tried to trouble shoot by configuring track header and by going to prefereces>audio>devices>core audio, and switched the “input device” to “built in microphone,” and things like that, but I still would get the same pop up window indicating “no input source selected.”   To be thorough, in preferences under “core audio,” I have selected universal track mode, 24 bit recording, and software monitoring.
Do I need to reset something?
If your recommendations help fix the immediate issue temporarily, how do I keep it from reverting back to the same problem if I feel like switching between the duet interface and the built in mic in the future?  How do I keep it permanently from this malfunction?  It seems like this is something simple that would be addressed.
Also, as I was trying to think of anything it could possibly be.  I wonder if it could be the driver I installed for an old m-box2 possibly causing an issue.  After getting my new mac book pro, I downloaded a driver for m-box2 (the second generation that came out in 2005 and used pro tools LE.)  I used the m-box on my previous computer and it worked well.  Since I purchased a new macbook, I tried to use it on my new computer, but since the m-box2 is a 32 bit system, it didn’t work very well, which is why I got the duet.  I don’t know if that could possibly be messing anything up.  If so, should I uninstall it somehow?
    Thanks

Ok, think this through... you've changed from a stereo source to a mono source.
The message reads: “No input source selected!”
On the track you're trying to record there is an Input section directly underneath the  I/O label. Click and hold to select the correct Input for that track.
Also, the project you opened was saved with the Duet's driver/interface parameters.. if you open the same project without the audio interface Logic will do it's best to pick I/O that's compatible but I've never seen any DAW do this perfectly.. it always takes a small amount of user input. Especially since you've changed from the Apogee to the internal mic.

  • Using Firewire to Thunderbolt adapter for Apogee Duet

    My question is two-fold.
I currently run Logic Pro 9 on my mid-2011 I-Mac.  I am looking into purchasing a new apple laptop to run Logic Pro 9 on mainly for the advantage of portability.  From what I have read so far I would benefit from the processing power of a Macbook Pro over the Air.  Does anyone have input on this or experience running Logic 9 on these newer machines?
The second part of my question involves my recording audio interface -- the first generation firewire apogee Duet.  If I were to get a new generation laptop it would not come with a Firewire 800 port.  To circumvent this I would need the adapter linked below:
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD464ZM/A/apple-thunderbolt-to-firewire-adapte r
The reviews indicate that it is not great for bus-powered external drives.  Would the Apogee interface be in the same boat as these?
Would I want to trust sending audio signal through and from the computer with an adapter in between?
Any input or experience with this would be awesome.  At worst, I could use a newer laptop for mixing and not tracking.  And then upgrade my audio interface to the newer generation Duet at a later time.
    Thanks!

I've been searching for such a device too. I need to perform a data transfer to MBA from a MBP and FW800 drive. For now, I can hook it up to a MBP and use AirDrop or simple wireless transfer...
This site keeps news on new peripherals: http://thunderboltreviews.com/
The Belkin Dock looks promising, but still expensive. Simple adapters are still aways and the first ones out are going to cost a pretty penny still (~$30-$40 is my guess). The dock from Belkin may be worth the cost in that sense. Except it seems to need an external power source.
Sigh, Thunderbolt hasn't really come out with a bang, but just more of a sizzle...sorry for the pun.
Someone had come up with a concept Apple Thunderbolt Pro Display. It was pretty cool. Built-in discrete graphics card, bluray superdrive, and all the ports you would ever need (among other things). Oh how I wish Apple would be willing to build such a thing.
Anways, let me know if you find a simple TB to FW800 adapter.

  • Customer no to populate the Assignment field for Sales A/c using sort key

    Dear All,
In 6.0, I am trying to get the Customer number to populate the Assignment field for Sales Account
We have set the sales account to a 031 sort key - sort by customer, in FS00. When 031 is set, SAP goes to the BSEG table and looks at the KUNNR (customer) field and populates the Assignment field with what is in the KUNNR field of BSEG.
The problem is: the customer number (KUNNR) does not contain any data in BSEG.
The KUNNR field of all the other account lines for the document number are blank.
Is it possible to bring the field in the General Ledger display?
Does anyone know of a user exit or other solution?
    Thanks,
    Gov

  • Macbook user any recommendations for an external hard drive.  Doesn't need to be very portable or have more than 1 TB

Macbook user (10.6.8).  I am a novice and need help with an external hard drive for time machine.  I don't need it to be very portable or very big but I don't want to lose any pictures or other info.  I see all kinds of hard drives for sale but do I need one especially for Mac?

Only one computer can be connected to one drive at a time without a server being involved or a NAS drive.
I don't think your needs are along those lines it's too complex.
Just a external drive formatted exFAT will do between Mac's and PC's.
Swtich the cable and connect to one or the other as needed or get two drives.
There are some hacks floating around that create a portable wireless shared storage so anyone with a wif can connect and share files with at like coffee shops.
Is that what your looking for?

    Prepare Your Mac for Sale
Boot from the OS X Installer Disc One that came with the computer.  After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.  After DU loads select the startup volume from the left side list then click on the Erase tab.  Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) then click on the Options button.  Select the one pass Zero Data option and click on the OK button.  Then click on the Erase button.
Note: You can skip the Zero Data option if you are not concerned about removing sensitive personal data from the hard drive.  If you choose to skip this part of the process then it is possible for others to recover data from the hard drive.  The Zero Data procedure will prevent others from getting access to your personal information.
This process will take 30 minutes to several hours depending upon the size of the hard drive.  After formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Now complete the OS X installation.  At the completion of the installation do not restart the computer.  Instead just shut it off.  The next user will be presented with the Setup Assistant when they turn on the computer just as it would if new out of the box.
